hey there SNS crew if I saw my last video you would know that was traveling and after a long day of traveling I finally made to my destination my parents house and today we're showing how to reload with that handsome fellow over there you can't oh that's my dad yeah so I'll go ahead let him take it away so today we're gonna do some reloading we got some some brass that's already been shot we got some brass cleaning I did these last night the brass cleaner I use just regular brass cleaning for your any KC what you do is you a little of this goes a long ways I usually use some hot water warm hotter at the hotter the water you can get the better and just pour a little bit of the solution into the warm water take your brass throw it inside the water slosh it around a little bit let's sit in here for about I don't know five ten minutes if you let sit too long it will take the coating off of your brass and could weaken your brass a little bit after you get it all cleaned out drain all the water out of it I usually stick it in the oven for about such the autumn previa time about 350 degrees and after the preheat goes off go ahead and turn the oven off and put all your brass on on a cookie sheet set it in there and then let it sit in there for about 20 to 25 minutes so they get all the moisture stuff out of the side of the brass so if you don't sell a lot of times if you've worn you horse easy to get a lot of moisture in the brass even though you'll pit powder if you don't put it in there hit it you know if you have wet pattern and it could cause a malfunction so that's the reason why I put it in the oven let it cook but all my brass has been cleaned with water and brass cleaner these all been opened up now we're gonna put this brass into a tumbler this is my automatic tumblers you can get a mecha bellows or bass probe the inside of this real fine corncob you know it's basically what you do you know I can put up to 400 to 500 rounds in here this is probably about right here just pour it in and you put the lid back on get it real tight on there tight it might be more than 500 I don't know what this does is that it signs your brass up will look brand new so we'll put this in here let it do its thing for five or six as you often tell it really vibrates that's pretty good we got to make sure you have a lid on real tide if not you'll making one heck of a mess like I just did turns all Nebraska seismographs up real good like I said I wanted to have to do that for five hours and get the brass to come out looking brand new very slim up a lot of times you guys go to see wanna start sighs I'll go to while the brass around to drain all the shells [Music] 2:24 my daughter's use 340 3o h 30 else's [Music] I got all these guys you know this is all every guy that I have always black I had the bottom missing probably 15 years we all are [Music] very fun or it is expensive she did get started to bow around these four is sighs my load mathematicians the pottery ranges go up and down on the Border's in the off one side of the wall solar difference there's a lot have been variable thing a little Walmart followed by a factory box of ammunition Winchester milos exact same wait on the bullet rated powder that side of brighter every bullet Casey soldiers they're all sighs the exact same then after sighs did I say yeah old-fashioned you can actually set these bullet and center hole divested customized right you see with [Music] unless you besides my guns in about a hundred yards sighs holy [ __ ] sauce you guys have any questions or comments go ahead and resize them we fried them bring all the brass again workout stuff excited pacing to Missouri side I'll make sure always one thousand [Music] set up our machine we fit Wow y'all have a good night you guys heard here first we'll catch you in the morning good morning SMS crew it is currently time to get a watch but uh we let this run all night and they're looking pretty sharp this is some of them brand new just like myself take it away good morning everybody Happy Thanksgiving we started we put these in last night after we went ahead and put the brass in the cleaning solution put em in the oven at 350 degrees got all the water stuff out and we put them in this corncob let it vibrate on it as you say that brass comes out look some pretty close to bring a new looking brass I do have some brandy brass here box never been open as you can see the pretty big closed from its brass here that's probably several years old three or four years old some of the brass that we get out the shooting range or kind of old and crusty just a little bit of touch-up work and they come out looking pretty good we're gonna take these out make sure we're gonna corn cobs and stuff out of them we're gonna wipe them down real world then we'll resize them so after we get this done we'll start on the next step alright welcome back we got all the brass cleaned up you know got a corn cob out of them we are going to reload today and resize reloads d primer and the seer caliber is a 3006 Springfield I'm gonna load these shells from my dad first off we're gonna do we're gonna make sure we have the right die for this particular round you can get the dies that's Pro Cabela's the two different size dies you got one that's a resizing die which is this one it's got the roll arm with a little nip on the bottom of it that's for you they're priming and resizing resizing on it that's the bullet goes up in it this here knocks the primer out and this is that it's called the neck this part right here is called the shoulder when you've knocked that primer around it reforms this and crimps that closer so you'll see a bullet in it pulls the shoulder back out for your resizing and then of course it knocks your primer out so what we do here is I'll go ahead and set this up and these are all gonna adjustables on and all mine a pretty well set but if you need to set them you just undo the on screen undo the outer inch screw and then you're gonna set it by size what we do here let's go ahead and set that let's go all the way down take a little locking tool and it doesn't have to be super tight just snug now it comes into the reading part I always have your reloading buck this is safety 101 for every round for every caliber y'all one he is so we didn't find throwing out stick spring spill right here so it goes into your charts and it tells you what your size of your bullet means to be that was a 30 out 6 sell and it needs to be sized AB 2494 so that being said you also going to need a gage I hope my battery's not dead [Applause] my battery did but sorry about the short-term distant difficulties but I had a battery that was dead on my mic here so we got a hit right now it's reading zero on there and I'm gonna size this bullet after it's been shot it should read longer than what it needs to be sized at so right now that bullet just the casing is 60 3.11 yeah it stretched way out over always supposed to be twenty three or twenty sorry 2494 hold on alright I don't roam setting there you go now it's supposed to be 24 83 and it's poster-size out to twenty four ninety four so it's a little shorter so now I'm gonna stress it out as you can see here so what we're going to do if we're going to live this baby up I'm gonna give it some Lube why did you like to clean this off a little bit there you don't like anything on it - - anything on this solder to the necks of the because you get things like torn top still stuck on a pimple your brass and it calls failure again for possibly okay so we're gonna make sure this here is all nice and cleaned off get a little bit of oil just take that just a little bit goes a long ways not to overdo it and that helps walls your press going up and down so what that did is it pulled the shoulder up and it also stretches your neck out as you can see here I stand about make sure your brass is good and clean it feel a little pimple in that shoulder brass that is no good so that one air can be discharged let's write it again you're going to have when you reload we first start out you're gonna have a little bit of a sit out one everyone a lot easier no pimples no nothing on the brass breast looks good now we're going to check and see if our dies on right okay so here it says case trim that's the maximum this 2494 us how maximum you can be after trimming and your case down its 2484 right now I'm not 2486 that means I have to shave off mm mm of an inch very good so we know that I can see I this bullet is still good it's still you reusable because I could still trim down once it hits that maximum after you resize it and you know you can't trim it it's probably not gonna be safe to shoot so the best thing to do is discharge it so we'll go ahead and size these here up agreed we'll head resize them and then we'll do about 50 rounds of it we'll head resize them and then as we resize them and apply them we'll go to the next step and showing how to trim them down [Music] [Music] [Music] now we got our grass resize and deprived we're gonna go ahead and set up for the trimming process which we're going to trim them down and the way we do this here you go a little trimmer goal here we'll get at this setup or we can start trimming each one of these here have a number on them and that's supposed to set your thing as this here's the number three and that goes with your die sizes which is your cell holder number three so we've got the number three and number three so that their matches your cell holder so when you all start new at different calibers and stuff what if you do your resizing you want to make sure you have the right shell holder for that or you won't be able to reach trim of your bullets down this is the 30 caliber if you have a 30 caliber insert for your trimmer and you can see it right there on the things it's 30 and they usually come in twenty-two twenty-five twenty-four 30s 40s and 50 cals maybe what they do here is you just slide it into the head and there's a little island set screw there and you just stick it in there nice and tight then do so next step is go ahead and take your casing I'll go ahead and be my casing and see how that the head of this goes into your bullet I mean you can start trimming it out I always start just a little bit at a time I'm gonna stop pull you pull it out and remeasure a little trim goes a long ways guys that once you read measure if I can go down to 24 48 and I'm a little on there on that one so we'll set that one off to the side and this is just to get a little bit of a weather set point so I'm right there is 24 84.5 on the half of a deal off so I'm just going to do one more turn cut trim and as you can see I'm right there now I'm right on that money I want to take that on the back side of here I got an adjuster see how much gap I got in between here I'll move that up to even with the base of this here so I won't cut over over or under so there's a little allen screw there I'll loosen that up a little bit go ahead and just touch that just a little bit slide that back forward and then I'll use my allen wrench to tighten your back stop about when there's trim we'll check another one just to be for good measure see it just trimmed a little bit off and it stopped that's the reason why we set this up like that and I'll check it again just to forget measurements and as you can see on the money that's what it's supposed to say 2484 and mike case trim lengths 2484 so we're know that's it we're good to go we're go ahead and trim these up for you real quick we'll measure every one of them I usually measure you know about every third one at fifty this trails fifty rounds I measure every third one out of the 50s just for safekeeping sometimes when you're trimming you get a lot of force they can back two screws out but we'll check them we noticed it be off a little bit will uh will stop and to redress but it will take about ten minutes to do this [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] all right here we need 50 rounds we went ahead and we trimmed them all down now we're gonna polish them up around the necks and then the D primer also guys if you guys are out on the seat range and you're all collecting brass that people don't want and throw away and you sometimes I do it myself as we just found out some of the brass that we have I think stays at this here of 30.6 shells and we also have 270 rounds yeah here's 270 rounds this one here's the 3006 sale casing this is the 270 shell casing as you can see they look exactly the same that being said when you go to resize it you can actually resize the 274 30.6 you can actually resize a 25.6 to the 30.6 my reason why I've been doing this for a long time only reason why I knew it was the wrong casing and because when I want to push down on my resizer it was a little bit more difficult so when you guys are getting your brass and stuff and make sure you got your right calibers always keep them stuff not saying you can't do it I just wouldn't recommend doing it so that being said we'll just move them for with that you can resize different shells but for the extra brass I'm looking recommend it because somebody that's in your hunting party or shooting party or whatever say hey yeah you're shooting a 30.6 but your buddy over here has got a 270 and he sees the 270 stamped on the bottom of the casing and it's loaded for a 36 that can cause a huge problem so I wouldn't recommend doing that just moving forward through ahead just gonna start be burning after we trim it you get a little bit of a rough edge around you're proud of your neck and on the bottom of it here you still got a little bit of a debris and stuff in your primer hole so what we used to do is just you burn a little bit don't take a whole lot I'm just barely just I'm not even putting pressure on that I'm just cleaning it out now the primer hole I feel a little bit of pressure on it get a good signing as you can see it's still got a little residue and gunpowder in there so I easily really put a little pressure on there and you can see has a little bit of pressure I put on it was starting to shine up now that hole is getting clean for when you put your proper back in it would be a surefire so we go ahead and Google head and do these up real quick you know with you every one of them just this is not a fast process it's to me it's kind of relaxing kind of stress-free [Laughter] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay so now we got a head got all these done as you can see is all the case has been trimmed down they've been deburred the primer holes been cleaned out really good guys I really want to say when you guys claim this primer hole out a highly stressed don't overdo it because when if you overdo it and Waller out that hole when you go back to receipt your primer sometimes it won't seat very good and then your primer being there loose and it can cause a misfire I've had that happen to me several times for reloading throughout the years I have and again I'm no professional it's just a hobby that me and my kids took up one day to get into all the reloading stuff it's like I said before it's can be expensive but in the long run it's very well worth it you can get online back when I bought my reloading stuff I bought it as a kit I spent around around $850,000 they might be cheaper than that now I haven't priced them but I bought everything has one complete set you can probably go online on Amazon now and probably eBay probably find the stuff a lot cheaper but throughout the years I just kind of gathered more stuff we're getting ready to do the priming now on the bullets primers are I use Winchester primers I use CCI primers primers this kind of more of a preference I prefer we use Winchester's if I can find them they're pretty hot primer but primers a primer doesn't really matter CCI I just recently found these is here I can't find Winchester's around in my area they're pretty cheap they're about a dollar about a buck fifty two dollars a box of a hundred you also got to remember on your primers if you shoot in big caliber rifles you don't use the large primers smaller calibers like a two two twenty two twenty two fifty s 223 s that's a smaller frightful primer and then also you got your pistol primers what we're gonna do now is I got me a primer re later and you know you get a hundred rounds and these here I got this carry holds 50 rounds and as you open these up there are little slots of 10 and a hole I just go over five and just throw them my hands and little load them up with my primer kit always want to make sure those two sides of a primer this side here is what you call a flat side well is empty we empty that section [Music] as you can see here that's your primer side what you see on the bullet it's what your firing pin goes into your rifle shell casing and discharges your round the other side here is the flash side the gold side is the flash side that's where all your your powder discharge goes you always want to make sure that is going up into the casing side so we'll go ahead and show you how easy this is it's real easy go ahead and discharge them in so that when there's ready to go I'm sure I got the right just slide it in and squeeze and then it sets it in there just nice and pretty just like that you always want to rub your finger on it to make sure it ain't loose or improperly see if you feel like a little bubble on your when you're running it it's not flat and flush no you didn't get it seated quite properly but we'll just go through here and it's really fast process and after you do it a while you can pretty much you know get the fill of it I'm just having do this for a while now but I do double-check some of them just make sure [Applause] another thing two guys is a lot of people's asked me throughout the years hey can you reload any brass or any type of bullet yeah you can reload any type of bullet but are certain cases you cannot reload and some of those casings are like the cheap ammunition you buy at like the army surplus stores and stuff like that and you're getting big balls if it's not brass or stainless if it's kind of like that cheap ammunition like wolf and the stuff like that no you cannot reap you cannot resize those they crust occations they they just won't you just can't reload those so it has to be brass brass people ask me if you reload the stainless steel casings like this you know you can't below them these actually hold up better you get more life out of them a lot of the Winchester supreme boxes that I've bought over the years before I started reloading I've always wanted to get em reloading I bought these here and I've had these probably here for about 20 years and we really love them as much as you can as long as you take care of the brass they should be fine as long as they size out and neck out then not damaged they should be pretty decent but actually that you'd make a pretty nice bullet when they're done all right now that we got these here done all the sales and stuff have been primered so now we're gonna ready that go ahead and check her powder charges and our bullets okay you guys can go to Bass Pro Cabela's or some any type of reloading stores to get your bullets and your powder I shoot reload nineteen twenty to twenty five reload ten fifteen reload on your bullet selections is all over preference and what shoots best to your gun I see Hornady through my gun I get these at Bass Pro or Cabela's as you can see here this is a thirty out six thirty caliber was a hundred fifty grain SS tees and the quantity of this box is a hundred rounds okay 30 caliber 308 for the price of this box for 100 rounds is thirty one dollars plus tax I don't know about you all but if you go to Walmart or any outdoors you're spinning around for a box of 20 this is I don't know how long years ago is for a box of 20 20 bucks for 30 out 6 shells I'm getting 100 rounds for $31 a powder I buy I get about 300 rounds out of this powder for 30 bucks so sixty six dollars for a shoot I don't know how many rounds but that's pretty good so we're gonna over here I'm gonna find we're going back to the magic Bible here we're gonna throw out six Springfield's what we're reloading I'm gonna go through my ballistic charts my ballistic charts here you know it goes the smallest grain bullet and he does like guys you can get different types of bucks for different types of brands of ammo you know this is nozzle I got the spear Sierra all the houses saying everything's all these books are pretty much the same but different Bloods have different powder charges so if you're going to be loaded a specific type of bullet get the right books for it so we're gonna go back over here to this book and I like to see 150 grain through the 30.6 it's a good fast round it's a pretty accurate ground a lot of knockdown power and it doesn't quite does nuts as damage some of the bigger calibers do so here's 150 155 grain bullet charges and you got your difference stops the tiles you got your blessing tips you got your SSTs you got your soft points these are all bow tells you get your full metal jackets to round those is ballistic tips off points which I think these are the no these are the SSTs as you can see right here SS T's and they'll have the red ballistic tips these are good round to shoot I found out in the past I really shoot the on this particular round are going to get the SPS or the BT ESPYs the ballistic tips off points besties is a good round is a good fast round but I think they go in and don't mushroom out near as good but this is what my dad picked out and he's wanting to try needs to see for his gun so this is what he wants that's what we're looking for this that's their ballistic charts case overall weakest what your bullet should set out at as 30 to 30 now again now here's your powder charges your powder charges you know this is what they rip them and for these type of bullets is what they think suits best for whatever type of gun that you're shooting with for what green a bullet you're shooting and now this is a 150 250 grain so like again I like to shoot reload powder this one here is called for reload and 15 which I do have and as you can see over here you know I always go for the net the red means a hot the hottest load you can recommend for that bullet which I always go to the next step down from that I can reload that and be fine then you still pretty good accurate but I don't want to load real hot where it can take a chance of melting my barrel down on my rifle or you know more powder means more problems in some cases so I'm gonna go with the reload 15:49 9 grains of powder and that bullets gonna be roast or up and push them out about 2,800 feet per second so that's where we're gonna go so now we're going to set up the powder and get the bullets and stuff signed up I got to change out my side of my resize and die out to my actual bullets eating die what's we'll go ahead and do that now we're gonna have to make some changes on the bullet setting dies because that round before he drowns he was using is a little different than what he was using now so there'd be a little bit of adjustments there do you guys do a lot of different animos and you like the suit this is like I like to shoot one ammo but if I'm hiding something different and I like like for my 25 y 6 I like to shoot deer with 25 sticks but also like building the Kyle my 2506 2506 I got different sets of dies one first set for 117 green bullet and the other was shooting for an 87 green bullet so I have two differents die sets so I'd like to keep adjusting him I just mark them on my case 87 green or 117 green when you guys switch bullets back and forth you definitely have to go by the guidelines and you will have to make adjustments prior to what bullet there is because that way they're set and seated for that Pacific gun but if you find a round that you really like stick with it it shoots best or your gun it is all variable you have to play here and there you know I got a whole bunch of different bolts over there that I've used and I bought I want to try this one out and he's shy and like I mean if I don't like this one so you want about a different round and then you shot this this one here was better this round was better than this round I mean you just got to play with your rounds and see what she's best for your Pacific rifle I reload this bullet here for my dad and he always used the nozzle errs he sawed nas was four five six years and had very successful luck with them but now they can't find that bullet Pacific bullet no more so now he's missing he's switching up a little bit so he's gonna try these I've actually sought these in my 270 short mag and they were a little bit too much for the game because there's a lot of powder behind it but mono we'll see I think you'll like it but you never know if we find yet if you don't like them we'll just go back to the illness if we can find her go ahead set up for this here we're gonna go ahead and get the bullets eat and die this is this one right here again it's just like the other one but it doesn't have any primer in it this one here is what seats are bullet you know on your depth of you bullet and a lot of times you know guys the idea this when we first start now on both die sets is just set them in there and when you're four brand new you what's one do you want to set it all the way down where it hits the bottom of the thing then you just screw it in and so it just barely hits of course this is already preset that I'm gonna walk you through it just in case there's also other videos out there too that y'all can look so you can see that it's barely touching that right in here it's barely touching so after you get that and you can set the lock green you know this turns but I got a pre-roll a preset and then it doesn't have to be real tight just rarely snug so now that that's set now if I need to make adjustments on my seating my bullets vote or not that would be a 7/16 syringe and a small strike screwdriver and it just backs it up or down so you get your bolt where you need to set to master case overall length so we're go ahead and set the powder machine out and get it all scaled in [Applause] let it turn that baby on there's several different types of powder machines I have electronic one a slot faster it's digital you can switch powders out under click real quick this is very expensive product you know this did not come with the kit I end up buying this separate the one who came to the kid was a hand measure out for the guys for the money it's well worth it like I said his digital scale you can recalibrate it with weights if you need to very easy clean so we're gonna go with reload 9:15 anything they said we load 15 49.9 so I got some older reloaded 15 powder here so I'm gonna go ahead and top this [Music] [Music] like so then I got a brand new one over here in this thing I do believe no one gets real fifty alright well we'll just have to go get some more that'd be enough to do what we need to do with these 50 rounds so we're gonna go ahead and close this up a little bit and we're going to set it 49.9 I've typed it in 49.9 and we're gonna go ahead in it and display and you get to write so your funnels and stuff you got different calibers to fit your bullets those makes the process a little easier a little bit faster just a simple switch that out I'm always take a rag and make sure my funnels and stuff are good and clean make sure they end up dirt make sure they're getting clean so we got our first brass it's all cleaned up ready to go it's really easy to stick that in there the bottom you know goods tight there is a rubber still in there so it kind of keeps everything and as you can see it's 49.9 and that is what my book best say is 49.9 for reload 1549 point nine grams of powder and that's what the powder looks like it's real find different reload powders it has fire or not so fine-grained pour that in there and then it automatically dispenses your next bullet ready to go so now here comes the challenging part see how close or how far we are off take your bullet put it in top of your casing and go ahead and seat it in now that being said I got a huge crimp ring right around there let's tell me that my bullet most likely needs to be set deeper fixing to find out chase overall length is 30 to 30 mm about 30 to 59 so that needs to go down quite a bit so that being said I'll have water rinse around here somewhere which I followed it over there to the rest a little toolbox 7/16 and any strikes regard just break [Applause] [Music] just crack that down a little bit and we know the bullet needs to go down so we're gonna just go just a little bit then we're gonna just two ways you can do it I prefer to go ahead and do another realm and then take my hammer my bullet point amer and redo it sometimes if you do too much you could crush your casing if you don't get a set just right well we're gonna try it just to see where we're at and I'll show you what I'm talking about there I felt it I didn't go too much my casing went down a little bit I still got a little bit of a crimp crimp and ring there got a showing what's just not bad but we'll see where we're at and you want to just take it down just a little bit you don't want to done too extreme out of time and we'll when we went down quite a bit but still need to go down more so I'll take her down just a little bit more that went down quite a bit now you can see that crimp is not the crimp is not really showing near as much on that OOP and we're just about there we'll take it down just a little bit more and go from there and these just will be justice out of time guys I mean don't go all crazy I mean it's just it's just baby steps just if you go down too much out of time you can't crush your shoulder than that crush your shoulder on your on your looking that it's just no good you have to tear the bull apart and fill that casing away and you still got a little bit of a crank ring crimp ring in there that you see but that's that's all right I prefer to have no crimp rings but some people are different some people like to have a crank current reference I do not to me I think it's just see I'm at 23 are 32 23 I need to be 32 20 so now we got the bullet set right as you can see it's it's got a good it has a good crimp on it you can see the crimp rings yes a little bit what's that's me that's pretty damn close I think it's going to be a good round turned out to be a pretty nice bullet we're gonna go ahead and knock these out real quick and we'll do a few more so y'all can get a touch-based on it a lot of times too after I don't have this particular gun here with me right now a lot of times I will before after I reload I usually take each load and chamber room to actually crimp the bullet to the gun and actually it will set the bullet you know I'll have that gun here another thing to you often do if you'll have time to as well is you can actually mic your chamber to set your gun inside for that but I don't have that gun here with me or at this point in time you know this depends on what your math skills are if you guys got pretty good math skills you can do it that way but I a lot of times it's just I'd rather just set the gun bullet in there and then close them eject the shell out you can do that to see them make sure everything's gonna work properly and again so we're go ahead and start reloading some of these up again each powder is gonna be exact same you know it's not factory a munitions this is actually a pretty fast process just once this goes that's done I'm waiting on the other powder to go so guys just uh give ya early on in the video they said that you know like the copper you have a stainless steel bullets that is a good looking around I really like the way that looks versus just the actual brass rounds I mean they're both good looking bullets but that copper or that stainless steel casing that just looks sharp all the way around
