[Music] you open your Bibles boy it's the day we got to be so hungry for the word don't we and we got to want to study the Bible and these stories in the Bible are so important to us even to today and that's why I do I like to take the Old Testament stories in their and Lord why did you put them in there because they're for us today to learn things and today is no different today we're going to look at it totally turned from what I was going to start with I love how the Holy Spirit just does this I was going to preach on sleeping with the enemy and boy I started to study in that and then all of a sudden the last two days everything switched but who knows some of that might come out too but we want to talk about red flags of abusers and we're gonna look at Saul and we're gonna look at David and it started off and I've started studying this it's like how in the world did this happen I look at 1st samuel 21 in verse 10 and it when i first started studying this i thought what was wrong with david i mean here he is and you look in verse 10 david arose and he fled that day for fear of saul and he went to a shish the king of Gath now look at this this is the Goliath came from Gath Goliath was the enemy right so what is he doing running into the land of the enemy I mean here here he's the Great King and he's also silently or secretly has been anointed to be the future king of Israel so why is he going to the enemy's camp and actually the enemies of God's people why would God's secret anointed leader be in the enemy's territory have you ever thought about that no keep looking and this it even gets it stranger and the servants of Asia said unto Him is not this king of David of the land did they not sing one to another him and dances saying Saul has slain his thousands and David his ten thousands and David laid up these words in his heart he was thinking about this he's like oh they're gonna know who I am and was so afraid of a shush the king of Gath and he changed his behavior before them what people will do desperate people do desperate things what does he do he feigned and made himself mad at their hands and scrabbled at the doors of the gate and let spit fall from his beard and the King basically thinks he's crazy get this madman out of here why all of a sudden he goes into the land of the enemy because he's trying to find refuge from Saul King Saul and King Saul has turned into a madman and we're just going to do a couple highlights here but how it's so important for us to know that a lot of times persecution comes from within and it comes from within false brother and persecuting the real brethren and David's an example of someone that really did absolutely nothing wrong and all he was doing was seeking God obeying God he slew Goliath and what happened Saul got jealous of him he had a narcissistic spirit and what happened he can't stand the limelight it can't have anybody else share anything he wanted to be number one how sad and we see the decline of Saul and we see how God blessed and kept David and we're gonna see how God keeps us even when the enemies after us were going through stuff God says I'm able to keep you from falling aren't you glad God's able to keep you amen so he's going through have you ever seen that movie the fugitive he is the fugitive and he didn't do anything wrong and he explained some of his trials here in this dark hour he said I'm hunted like a partridge in 1st Samuel 26 20 he said I'm like a pelican in the wilderness I'm like an owl in the desert Psalms 126 my soul is among the Lions Psalms 57 for on and on is just he keeps going on he said they have prepared a net for my feet so here we see that David is in the land of the enemy and he had to flee there sometimes you have to get away from abusive people sometimes you got to cut your losses and you just gotta leave and this is the case if you know David he did absolutely everything right and he hung on a really long time he went through everything and for a while I thought I first started saying this that that why did he end up in the land of the enemy but he got himself in have you ever been in a situation where you're in a no-win situation that if you do this you're gonna lose and if you do this you're gonna lose so here eventually the end of the story comes in as is we're gonna come back to this but you're gonna see that there's a day that David now is is hiding in the lands of the Philistines and he does get favor from this king and he ends up where this King absolutely loves him and wants him to be his bodyguard can you imagine that he said let's go into war I want you there right with me because we're gonna go against the Israelites so now here David is in a no-win situation because if he goes and fights against Israel he really is fighting against his own people and if he doesn't fight then they're gonna think wow you know you're you're really a true Israelite in your coward and whatever so he says to the king I'm going to fight but God got him out God kept him how did he do it because all the princes of the land said we do not want this Hebrew going into battle with us lest he decide to favor up with his old king his old friend and turn on us and so what happened he basically got out and got to leave and got to escape isn't that something and why did he get to escape because God kept him there was absolutely no reason he didn't have his confession right he didn't do anything right he didn't do all the do's the power of God sometimes in your life will keep you in spite of yourself and aren't you glad he's God and you don't have to control him the power of God to keep you but here he's he's being persecuted and harassed oppressed and we're living in a day of persecution the false prophets will tell you there is no persecution coming peace wealth prosperity they've always said it but God has his Makai is he's got his profits that'll tell you the truth is you know what no matter what happens God's gonna keep us because there's storms coming there's tribulation coming there's problems coming but God's with us and when God's with us no weapon formed against you will prosper and we're gonna see all these weapons that were formed against David unbelievable and I'm just going to mention a few in and some some points here of what happened cuz this story is very long but go back and and read it this whole story of David it's very very interesting but we're going to talk about some red flags about abusive people now it's not just leaders that can be abusive it's wives it's women I have met a lot of women abusers I've met so it's not just men but it's it's anybody that is taking a position of power over you and that is using you and abusing you for their own self gain so it can be anybody so you got to know the red flags on your job in your school teachers some teachers teachers just have it out for you regardless of what they're there they like some kids some coaches were like that they like some kids and they for no reason they abuse the others I've seen a lot of abuse on the basketball court I won't even go into that but to be persecuted to be vexed and here we see David killed Goliath of Gath and the first red flag that I see in first samuel 18 - and it's a red flag of a lot of spiritual abuse and I've seen this I've seen this in churches I've seen this a lot the first one is manipulation and control heavy-handed manipulation and control so now here David has just defeated Goliath and everybody's rejoicing and he promised whoever defeats Goliath I'm going to reward them they're gonna have riches they're going to get my daughter and they're also their family's gonna be free right well abusers are liars in verse 2 he said Saul took David that day and would not let him go no more home to his father's house and this is what abusers do they like to control you now you're mine they almost feel like you're their property you're their appliance they they have need of you and so you know now you are theirs and you can't do I remember like we were talking earlier before church they make you almost disown your family so some churches I saw some parents were dying and the pastor wouldn't let the daughter go home and see your mother I mean just the supernatural demonic control of you know you served me I'm your boss you do what I say how many know that can go too far so he's the first red flag as spiritual abuse is of abusers is manipulation heavy-handed control he's now telling David that he can't go see his father and his mother he wants David to be at his beck and call so whenever he's being tormented by evil spirits why because he's not obeying God and we're gonna see that abusers have demonic activity in their life everyone say not normal the second red flag is jealousy which most of us have heard that part that as soon as the women started to sing Salah slain his thousands and David his tens of thousands what happened from that point on Saul eyed him from that day on there's nothing else you want now except for my kingdom so now everybody wants you so they really really get insecure when they have a spirit of abuse on them because they like to control and they're not trusting God so they like to take things into their own hands so Saul I David from that time forward and the Bible says jealousy is as cruel as the grave when someone's jealous of you there's an evil spirit there it's it's not like oh I just wish I would they it's like a hatred it's a cruelty and that's what happened jealousy flag number two number three Saul was afraid of David and people are afraid of you for the same reason if you're walking with God and they're not they don't like you because the Spirit of God in you is light and even if you don't say anything your presence convicts them of what they're doing wrong it exposes the darkness so you have to know sometimes you'd like David here he didn't do anything wrong what he was doing right caused the enemy to hate to persecute him harass him to vex him to cause him to to go into all this trouble so here we see the red flag number three is Saul was afraid of David because the Lord was with him and he had departed from Saul the worst kind of abuse comes from preachers that are yesterday's man that used to walk with God because now they don't have the anointing anymore because they're not paying the price and maybe they've sold out but now they're threatened by someone that really is walking with God see so they were he's afraid of David and it was time for the king remember he promised he said whoever slays this giant is gonna get a reward and it's going to be my daughter and it was supposed to be the eldest the eldest ones always went first what does he do when David's all excited to get married to his daughter he gives that daughter to somebody else then what does he do this red flag number four he's a liar he gives him his other daughter that he thinks will be a snare to him I am going to give him a daughter that's going to be a hindrance to him and then what does he do he says I want you to go D to get this daughter you're gonna have to get the force skins of a hundred Philistines what he really did was he set him up into battle to die he thought he's gonna die we won't have to deal with them anymore we're just going to get rid of them when people are threatened they always want to get rid of you true secure people when they see a gift in you they want to celebrate it they want to use it I have seen so many insecure preachers they don't want another gift out China they're all from God we need to celebrate each other be excited for each other the gifts and talents that God has no reason there's no room for for fear and insecurity and jealousy and all that stuff that's all of the enemy right so he gives he gives not only a hundred foreskins to solve but he gives 200 that's what a great warrior he was he says I'll double that and he does and then even when he was passed by his daughters and all that everything that Saul did it's kept saying he behaved himself wisely and that's one of our clues whenever whatever you're going through in life behave yourself wisely in other words walk in the fear of the Lord even if they're not we have to do the right thing keep an upright heart because God honors those that honor him and he lets go people the dishonor him as we see with Saul lost everything he lost the kingdom so then we see that red flag number five abusive people always have a secret agenda I love transparent honest people you don't have to worry about getting stabbed in the back or they have a plan to take you down or to you know you tell them all their secrets and they're gonna go and slander you you know real to people they want transparency they we can share each other's we all have flaws well that weaknesses but we don't use them to destroy that person right but Saul does and so what does he do he starts throwing javelins throwing spears so another red flag beware of spear throwers you can tell if they're throwing spears at people and don't think you're not next so if you see somebody's got a habit of you know being like a Saul they might have a lot of power but you don't see people stay with them long or else they're just yes men are codependent and flying monkeys that's another whole story it's because they're trying to get on a good side and another one we want to talk about for a second is false repentance abusers always use the repentance card they will always tell you they're sorry but their actions show they're not so you just don't go by and we can't go by someone telling you oh I'm sorry I'm sorry every time that Saul was trapped and David could have killed him he could have there were times that he you know in a cave and he just cut off his roll but there were other times and every single time that David didn't kill Saul Saul would go you're such a better man than me I'm so sorry he called David my son David my son would want a dad like that every time he turned around he was hiring assassins to go kill him even in his own house when he was at home he had messengers come and tried to take him out and his own wife had to let him doubt through a window she pretended he was in bed sleeping and that worked for the first time but then Saul sent him back again think about a madman he was he was supposed to be you know ruling his kingdom and helping the people and all he this is what happens with abuse they just want to get rid of their competition their whole focus their whole energy is that that person's got to go so we see red flag number seven is false repentance and I just want to share a second about repentance any time as anyone familiar with the mentality and tactics of the abuser knows false repentance is a common ploy of such people they can be very cunning they have changed when you confront him just like Saul I'll never do this again I'm never gonna go and try to kill you and the sad part is not only does he try to keep on killing David but now he's so crazy he tries to kill his own son with the javelin they have no empathy for the even their own family if they don't obey them abusers get in line you're my enemy you're your the next one that has to go but they say they've changed they haven't done anything wrong that whatever you've caught them doing they're finished with it forever I'll never do this again liars and we know the story King Saul was an abusive man and Saul played the repentance card they played the repentance card very well and if you're a mercy motive person you will fall for this abuse and here you're gonna go what another round so I love Samuel he stood up to Saul uh yes he stood up to Saul when the Lord sent him and he said King Saul has not killed all the Amalekites and what did you do when he told Samuel he says I have to and he goes what's this bleeding what's what do I hear in the background all you know the people they they just collected this they always blame shift you know it's never their fault they never take responsibility for the people it's all the the people's fault and the false repentance also you have to watch their actions because they they'll say just like Saul said to Samuel I have sinned he told Samuel I have sinned but then an abuser will go but now honor me I've said I'm sorry now make me look good I can't look bad in front of the people that's that's false repentance true repentance accepts the consequences there's consequences when we disobey but people that are abusers that if they don't get any you know you you have to forgive you're the Christian forgive me now you don't act like a Christian as if they are but what do they do they always get the spotlight off of them and focus on you because usually empathetic people they always want to judge himself and be right so they throw the guilt they throw the shame and now again they walk away controlling you and you're just left holding the bag feeling guilty so he's doing this to Saul I mean Saul is doing this to Samuel but Samuel doesn't play the game he stands up firm and he lets him know this false repentance doesn't work because he watched his actions and not his words the abusive person who was using religion as his facade loves to use Christian talk now this is why we have to beware it doesn't take long for people to get the religious Christianese down pretend they're believers pretend they're Christians pretend whatever Christians fall for this all the time Saul insisted he done God's will these religious people they use religion against people and they're even against God he had no fear of God here he is manipulating a prophet of God Samuel and trying to get the focus off of off of himself he was but you know what happened Samuel said basically it's all you're a liar he saw right through them and that's the thing you have to stay focused in the fear of God keep your boundaries up and know when people are lying and when they're playing this false repentance that is a red flag because they'll always say I'm sorry but they'll add something to it like I'm sorry I was wrong but they always had a big butt I'm sorry now you must forgive me I'm sorry I really am changing I'm sorry but you really don't understand why I did it so the abuser is always claiming he's sorry real repentance has nothing more to say in addition to say I have sinned if if Saul really would have really repented he would have just let Samuel deal with it the way he wanted in the fear of God just say I blew it I send I you know I asked for mercy whatever but instead no he's now he's commanding Samuel what to do next now honor me I've repented I've made it right okay now honor me in front of the people got to look good abusers always have to come out smelling right there's the smear campaign because you have made them look bad and they're not gonna allow you making them look bad okay and they can put on the tears they can say a lot of sweet things we must insist that abusers bring forth fruit in keeping with their claimed repentance otherwise basically they're just a brood of vipers just what the Bible says okay so red flag number 8 abusers have demonic activity Saul actually recruited assassins to kill David think about this his whole focus was taking good men and making them go on missions that they should have never gone on think about that and they sent him to his house like I said a couple of times Saul says I'm sorry this is not going to happen again to David two times he sends people to Saul's house and to touch him to harm him to kill him and David still goes I'm not going to touch him he had such a fear of God he knew he was still the king and he didn't say he didn't talk bad about him he just said I'm not going to physically harm him because if God wants to get rid of him God's gonna have to do it he didn't want to have any part of making himself King and putting himself in a position and boy you got to honor that kind of a heart because I don't know if we would have had that much basic patience he had so many times he could have knocked him out but number of red flag number eight demonic activity if God be for you who can be against you I want you to see this in 1st Samuel 19 we see another place of where Saul is coming after David and he sends messengers groups of them to go get rid of them and here he is with Samuel I want you to see when we're with the anointed there's something that happens no weapon formed against us gonna prosper when we're walking right and we're doing our best God protects us and here there's a good story if you ever get discouraged just say God has a keeping power and he'll do things he has more things he can do we haven't even thought of and this is one of them I'd never think of but he sends his first group in verse 20 and they find out where David and Samuel are Samuel is a prophet of God at that time with the anointing and then he sends messengers and what does they do they all end up prophesying they can't kill him all of a sudden now they're all caught up in the spirit they can't kill David nobody can kill you till it's your time do you know that there was no way that God is gonna let his king his secret King David be taken out by Saul why didn't he stop everything why didn't he just kill Saul I don't know but for one thing we have to know that God has a keeping power and here he sends another group they end up prophesying then he sends the third group and they end up prophesying - with the prophets now then he gets so upset you know what he goes himself and the funny thing is the same thing happens to him he ends up prophesying and not only prophesying the Spirit of God came upon him and he prophesied he stripped off his clothes prophesied before Samuel and he laid down naked all day and all night [Laughter] he didn't kill David did he now why is that in the Bible I don't know but there it is God can do whatever he wants to your enemies I just thought that was funny then they said now it's all amongst the prophets well you just got to see how much Dave has gone through just for the anointing and for walking with God and he was always seeking out a priest always trying to do the right thing and then there was a time even that the red flag number 8 abuses abusers are narcissistic David tells Jonathan his father would never kill you David Jonathan tells David my dad's not gonna kill you I don't believe that well then he finds out he really is this is it this is the time and they meet and all that they're not going to go into that but what happens is David actually witnesses here that Jonathan got almost got killed by his father all of a sudden now the spear thrower isn't just going after David but he's going after Jonathan just think of how deranged how demonic this has to be so here now Saul with his right Hartness good spirit he's wanting to seek out the Lord and the Urim and the Thummim and he wants to go to the ephod and he wants to see that's all he sought God in that day so he goes to the high priest and he seeks the Lord there and you know basically what this guy does is he gives him the sword of Goliath that he killed himself think about that here is the man that killed Goliath and now he's got to take the sword of Goliath and run back into the land that he killed the enemies of God because a crazy Christian so called fanatic weirdo false prophet demonized narc is after him if I could think of any other names I would so he's seeking the high priest and then what happens when Sol hears about it he kills all the high priests can you imagine what a bad turn that was for score in 1085 high priests how would you like that blood in your hands so now he's got all of those priests and so David knows you know what I better get out of here because he's really gonna kill me think about that he has done nothing wrong he's only trying to obey God he's only serving God he's getting persecuted for obeying God and for walking with the Lord but he kept acting him making himself wisely I just love this story symptoms of a narcissistic leader red flag number eight abusers are narcissus many of them are symptoms of a narcissistic leader a need for constant attention and admiration like Saul narcissus loved the admiration of crowds and need to be the focus of attention this should be a red flag to us when we see somebody even a preacher that has to have center stage and they're entertaining you rather than preaching the Bible so you get you into the word themself now they're saying the Bible's old the Bible's boring Let Me Entertain You and so basically what do they do they're putting on a show they don't open their Bibles or very few and they tell stories but they they don't give you meat something that you can chew on it's basically you leave thinking wow they're so wonderful they're so awesome if you don't leave thinking about Jesus you're in the wrong place because we can either lift up men or lift up God you see them saying so this is a narcissistic leader they love the attention it's all about them their churches all are all about them they're branded everything is them them them them them so people are falling for this this is a fall a great fall of apostasy in the our world but they need that a true narcissistic leader wants that they feed on that I was with one years ago and they said I can't be three days without preaching I have to be on top I have they had to be in front of people it's something about the the crowds and the attention Jesus wasn't like that he was always get away from the crowds he would always got to go see seek my father I got to go into it these other people they want a miracle anointing service and what Jesus do don't tell anybody I'm gonna heal you but don't tell anybody he wasn't seeking fame he didn't want to be famous he came to glorify the Lord and what an opposite program we've got going on today right but this is a this the the day of the of what we're living in is a day of narcissism of self-love self and then we're not just raising leaders this way we're raising our kids this way they call have all the little kids all little princesses you're a little princess you're this do that they're putting this entitlement into them that they're thinking they're so great where there's no humility it's all pride and everything that our parents that we suffered and went through we just give them to him on a gold platter it's bad for them because we're making little necks a sense of entitlement Sol's require they crave extravagance because extravagant living puts a salve on theirs their weak self-image you know if you can be secure you don't need a lot of the stuff but these these these fake people they have to have all this proves to everybody in the world how great they are how much faith they have and they can rule over you like a king that makes sense entitlement we're living in a day of of entitlement you guys doing okay entitlement outweighs any sense of concern for the financial health of the church or its staff I've seen pastors aid they get great salaries but all the people that slave and work for them they get hardly nothing makes them dependent oh that's wrong that's abuse narcissistic pastors also feel entitled to blind loyalty and respect without earning it you could say a lot about that lack of empathy you've heard a lot about that care little for the needs and the feelings of their staff or their congregation shepherds are supposed to smell like sheep they get in with the Sheep they help the sheep they take care of it they take care of each other it's not just taking care of the untitled1 envious of others or believes others are envious of them they have such a spirit of pride that to think everybody's just covetous and everything they have it's just false they're living in a false fantasy world they're very arrogant and haughty attitude you can also tell when somebody comes on the stage that wants to be applauded but oh here they come yay rah rah can you imagine Jesus doing that can he imagine everybody plotting here he comes here comes our word for the day I mean I totally opposite of what we have trained ourselves to accept today Jesus was a servant he came to minister and he didn't say okay now we're here we're gonna have a meeting for all the unchurched so that we can mix the wheat and the tares together he specifically wouldn't give out certain things and he spoke in parables so some people wouldn't get it he that had ears to hear let him hear so now what we're doing is we're setting up our churches to have wheat and tares together and what happens it's just like that white bucket of paint it's so white and clear but you put a little black in it and you can't tell much but then you put a little more pretty little more and all of a sudden one day it looks kind of gray then all of a sudden it gets more black why because of the mixture the mixture of trying to please the world and do things to be famous and bla bla bla bla bla but that's what this narcissistic society that we have come to know they totally love but lack of empathy you can see that in the life of Saul he didn't care about his daughters he used his daughters against David he used his son he tried to kill Jonathan a couple of times if it weren't for the people in Israel they saved Jonathan's life you know when he ate that honey there's lots of stories but you know there's no empathy if they can't use their kids they want them destroyed it's just an evil demonic spirit they're envious of others who believe they always think that people are envious of them they're arrogant a preoccupation with fantasy or unlimited success true narcissists have live in a fantasy world I won't even go into all that because it's kind of the subject but let me close this part of it with this a belief that they are special and unique and can only be understood by or associate with special or high status people they live above the rules while frigidly enforcing them on others like the pharisees jot and tiddle every little thing but they didn't live that way every false religion they can do anything they want there's no holiness what makes Christianity different God tells us to live a holy life false prophets always let you live any way you want really there's a there's a they live one they say they one way but really underneath it all there's another they can't live right if they're not living with Jesus like all these priests that we're seeing out all this pedophilia and all this stuff going on unless you're born again and have a lord we can't just do religious things and live right he helps us change right we're not just religious we are born again of a different spirit and they get really paranoid and when they're paranoid they think everybody's against him Saul thinks everybody like all these priests he said you didn't tell me that David was there to see you you didn't do this so off with you you got it and some of the people wouldn't kill him so he'd go and find another man that would get rid of all those priests but he he assured in the spirit of suicide to kill everybody that opposed him because he was so paranoid and there are some people they're so paranoid that they think they have to control everything and here Saul wants to control David and he thinks he's out to steal his throne so let's turn back to where we started here we are again all that to say David's in the enemy's camp he's running away from a madman and this is just the highlights of some of the things there's so much more of what he what he went through but you know the good news is he stayed faithful to God and even though he was in Gaffney didn't know how to get out the Lord got him out he didn't have to fight in that battle the king of Gath loved him as a son he'd ended up where he said I trust you so much I want you to be my bodyguard to go into this battle but because of the princes they said we don't want this Hebrew we don't want this Hebrew we don't trust him so God gave him deliverance God got him out and it reminds me of this true story of a preacher he was a backslidden kid at this time he's in his 20s and this story is actually a true story in London in the 80s and he was a backslider and he came out of this nightclub with a friend and two girls he picked up not living right coming out of a bar and they flagged down a cab driver don't you just love it when God has people everywhere and this is what when we're praying for our backslidden kids there can be a man or woman of God anywhere in their path and here now this cab driver picks them up and he says well where are you guys going wait were you were you coming from he says oh we're coming from college you know like a smart aleck he goes yeah right you're coming out of a bar so he starts talking to him about the Lord just talking about the Lord and the kid in the backseat goes you're Christian and he goes yes I am and he said to the guy in the front seat it was friend he goes well he's a Christian too and the cab driver goes well you're obviously not living the way you should live and he says and I want to give you a couple warnings he said you better watch out that jewelry around you remember in the 80s we all wore that all these big gold necklaces and chains and I was kind of the thing well in London that obvious was too and said I want to give you a warning said be careful with your jewelry because a block away from here in a nightclub a kid got killed because some thugs came in stole his jewelry and killed him and he said and the second thing I want to tell you he said what are you doing in clubs and he said do not die in the devil's territory well of course that guy wanted to get out of that cab as fast as he could it's like I don't want to hear this right now when you're walking in darkness and you're in the enemy's camp you don't want to hear anything good but every day he would think don't die in the enemy's territory it's just like those words from that cab driver wouldn't leave him he'd wake up with them he'd go to bed with them don't die in the enemy's territory so next week he gets ready to go clubbing again and he remembers the warning of that cab driver don't wear jewelry be careful about your jewelry so with that I just I'm not gonna wear my jewelry tonight now he goes that was really weird because I felt naked because back in the 80s you wore jewelry to show show off who you were and so he goes and his friend goes why don't you have your jewelry on he goes I don't know I just didn't feel like wearing it tonight couldn't couldn't forget the words of that cab driver Christian so anyway lo and behold two o'clock three o'clock in the middle the night it's still partying be careful what you're doing it at nighttime the devil loves to come out at night all of a sudden in this party this wherever there at 6:00 thuds come in and he goes oh and there's a bouncer at the front door they got rid of the bouncer and they put one of their guys there not good and all of a sudden the bouncers locking the doors and they're going from person person and they're taking their jewelry so all of a sudden now this backslidden kid he's staring at this guy you know the main dude couldn't get his eyes off of him and the guy comes over to him and he looks him up and down he sees his alligator shoes and you you said old boy he wants my shoes I can tell he's gonna take my shoes and he started staring at him more and more and the guy goes what you staring at and he goes I don't want to die in the devil's territory I don't want to die in the devil's territory everybody else starts laughing at him and the guy goes are you a Christian he goes yes and he goes I think you need to get out of here and he let him out you nodded that the bouncer said let him out he just gets out you go like there's just no reason he should let me out well then he waits and he hears his friends that were in there total havoc happened one of his best friends had a really nice jewelry bracelet on he didn't want to give it up so he fought him well they cut his face up like a map other guys were jumping out of the windows and they break their legs and a lot of lot of injuries and a lot of everything got stolen and the Lord he was just like oh how come I got away and the Lord told him cuz I kept you and I was just thinking of David how come he got away he should have he should have died that day I mean there's so many times he should have died when he acted like a madman it would have been so easy for them to say take this idiot out of here God kept him there were times that Saul should have had the upper hand and could have gotten David but the Lord wouldn't let it happen the javelin wouldn't hit he kept missing him the Lord kept him and even when you're in the land of the enemy God can keep you and we have praying for our kids some of them are in the land of the enemy you pray that God will keep them that they'll come and they'll wake up and they'll come back to their senses right like the prodigal son that God will give them a space to repent that they'll come out so I want to close with this scripture and Jude this is for all of us today Jude 1 verse 18 how that they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who should walk after their own ungodly lusts well God shows us in the book of Samuel Saul walked after ungodly lusts he thought it was his kingdom he thought he could do what he wanted and we see the end of Saul was bad the Spirit of God left him and what did you do he sought out mediums he even had to lie dress up and go into because he couldn't hear from God anymore so he had to go try to find out what God was saying how sad is that walking after own godly lusts will only lead us to bad places these be they who separate themselves sensual having not the spirit the spirit of the world is emphasized having your best life now someone laughs is having your best hair now having your best life now everything's now now now this isn't our best life our best life this is nothing compared to where we're going if this is your best life now you're going to hell but we believe in a heaven that we're going to right but they're living sensual not after the spirit but ye beloved building yourselves up on your most holy faith praying in the Holy Ghost keep yourselves in the love of God what did David do he kept himself he kept walking wisely even though saul was trying to kill him he kept his heart right saying i'm not gonna kill you that's what touch not the anointing means i'm not gonna harm you because god's gonna allow you to die his way and he did he died in Gilboa right he died in his sons they all died the same day I mean God has his ways but David's like I'm not touching this there's some things like even when preachers go off and this that God has his way of dealing with people you know he is God we are not and we just have to lay things at his feet keep yourself what in the love of God looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life this life is not it we're just passing through this is a purification time to see who's the Lord's and who's not this is a time there's going to be separation from the wise and the fool from the wheat and the tares and if some have compassion making a difference some people need love they need compassion and others you got to scare the jibby Wiggy Wiggy zout of them and others save with fear pulling him out of the fire hating even the garment spotted by the flesh verse 24 now unto him that is able to keep you from falling that little guy that didn't get his jewelry stolen didn't die in the the devil's territory is a preacher today he ended up coming out and going in cuz God kept him aren't you glad for the mercy and the love of God he was doing everything wrong sleeping with women doing this and that all the party stuff but God brought him out some of you if you know testimony if you ever told us your real testimony we don't want to hear it God has kept you now unto him that is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy to the only wise God Our Saviour be glory Majesty Dominion and power both now and forever amen that exciting hallelujah father we thank you that as you were with David you're with us you said you're never gonna leave us you're never gonna forsake us but you didn't say we were always gonna have just roses and everything was gonna be great David didn't all your anointed didn't they face persecution they faced trouble they faced martyrdom they faced a lonely life some of them had to pay a price some of them gave willingly their lives they were martyred and they're gonna be honored great in heaven but father you said you'd never leave us you'd never forsake us so father we thank you for keeping us from deception in this hour let us know who the wheat are and let us know who the tares are and father we thank you as you are doing this separation as things in the world get darker and darker you're gonna use it to see what's in the hearts of people and father we want to be on your side we want to be found that there's nothing that we've put before you there's no other idols there's no other gods we're not serving-men were serving you we put no one before you you are first and we thank you because of that Lord just like you were with David you'll be with us no people try to harm us and slaughter us and bring us down father God we thank you that when a man's ways please the Lord even as enemies are at peace with him everyone says amen [Music] you
