- Ah, yeah what's up guys, and welcome back. It's Monday, got a busy week this week, headed to New York for the whole week, but, I thought I'd deliver. Monday, we're gonna be taking a look at some black magic. Chris, black magic isn't real and you say so yourself. Or is it? No, it's really not. It's some good ol' content for you, so, if you do enjoy this channel, you do like what we do here, you wanna support it, best way to do that is leavin' a like, and subscribe, without any further ado, let's just dive right in. We have this year, a quick little routine because I've been off Reddit for a while, let's have a look. - Got a deck of cards. - Got a deck of cards. - Gonna snap. - Ooh. - Got a joker. - Nice little top shot. - I shake the deck. - Oh, is that Lee Asher's move? - Got the deck. That's our second joker. Now, I got the cards selected. Let's say the four of hearts. - Okay. - I'll leave it back inside the deck, and watch me get one from a little higher up so we know it's not the same card. The jack of clubs. And we'll leave that in-between our jokers. Check this out, don't blink. - Ooh. - 'Cause it actually changes into the four of hearts. Now leave the four in the center just like that. Take a look at the bottom, the eight of spades. If I shake it, - Yes. - You actually notice it too changes into the four of hearts. - My man. That is so good. Do you have any idea how difficult that first move is? I was playing with that a few years ago, and it kinda looks like C3, but it's like a variation of it. Ugh! That's about as close as I can get it. Very tough move and to be able to do that in sequence with everything else he was doing, hats off, that's really great. Here you go sir. You get an up vote. Boom. Let's take a look over here at Black Magic Effery, we got some stuff going on. What's this here? We got, okay this guy's a bottler, there's no sound here. Ooh, I already know where he's going with this, this is the multiplying bottles. Watch here. Do you know what happened? Yeah, they switched places, I mean, look at that guy freak out. There's already a guy freaking out. He's in for a surprise. Oh, the quality gets a little dicey here on this video, but you can clearly see the other bottles appearing. Now, what's great about this is that, multiplying bottles, classic effect. If you're a seasoned magician even, bit of an amateur magician, you understand how the trick works, but, what's funny with this is that he brought that to a restaurant, and I think that's really great. Having a multiplying bottles act on stage doesn't really make sense for me, because I'm like you, you're onstage, those are props. But doing this in a setting which is a restaurant I think is really great. It sells the illusion a lot more. So what's this here, stop motion animation. Oh, what? (exclaiming) Okay, not magic, not slight of hand, but definitely takes some skill to put this together. Look at this, oh my god. How satisfying is that, very smooth. Whoa, that's trippy. Ooh, I see. The amount of ferrofluid posts that I've seen on this sub-Reddit is becoming let's just say, (exhales) stupid. We all know it's ferrofluid by now, this isn't black magic, this is just ferrofluid, which is magnetic liquid. I'm the dumbest man alive! I go r/blackmagiceffery expecting to see the actual black magic. You're clearly dumber. (laughing) That's pretty accurate. Sees ferrofluid. Yeah, I've seen this, I saw this, what, a couple years ago, this is insane. So these books, the gilding on the edges of them, if they're, you know, kind of bent in a certain direction, gives you, like how cool would it be to have one of these books at home and be like, "Oh, let's just test it out" and bam you see, you know, something crazy like that. Mm, what's this? A Starbucks cup. (light music) - Oh, he's making it a Queen. This guy's really good. That's actually really cool. Hire this man. Immediately. Starbucks. So who's this guy? Ika Takahashi. Is an incredible magician. And let's have a look. (light music) Oh wow. Wow. It's so beautiful watching this, oh and a coin? Oh, what? Wow! And a big coin! (laughing) and it multiplies! Wow! Replay. So he's already concealing all those coins and all those cards in his hand. Knows the exact angle at which to execute this, which is phenomenal and obviously this is years of practice. It's so fun to see, because at a certain age, you know, I get scared for myself, thinking, eventually I'm gonna get, you know, arthritis or some, just lose the ability that I have now with my hands, and this is, quite inspiring, you can also imagine what this guy was like when he was in his prime. I mean, what a beast. What's this here? Okay, a little Carpenter's Ghost Production, that's really cool. If you wanna learn that, by the way, the Orbit Brown Carpenter's Ghost Production, that was a bit sloppy, (groans) a little bit sloppy. Kinda, bad angle for that, good handling though. I mean, he's just practicing, that's great. Definitely could improve on some of those, especially that duck change and the you know, the double lifts need a bit of work, but I thought pretty good considering. What's this here? Okay, a very rough ferro. What's he gonna do with this? Wha? That's actually really dope. You think we could try that out right now? It's easy enough. So we're in a ferro, we're here. And then bring those two corners together, let's try it out. (cards shuffling) Okay. Very cool though. Great way to bend your cards out of shape. Thanks for that. Okay bam. Bam, two there, take those, bam, gone, three there, boom. That is very fast. Oh and this guy. Look at this, this is insane. Hold on, is there sound here? I saw this guy, ooh, this is really great. So first, first time I saw this, I was like, "Oh great, Marco Tempest, Ipad magic". We've all seen it, we've all seen people pulling things out of their phones and their Ipads. But this guy has taken this to another level and created his own art with this. And here we go, let's watch this. Got a little dot, made it bigger, cute. There's (laughing) that's great. All right, iPad magic, here we go. Ooh. What? What? Where did that apple go? The choreography's insane here, this guy's, oh my god. Wow. Wow. He's using so many different magic principals in a new way, which is really great. That's cool, even the motion. (laughing) This guy's insane. I would hire this man for my birthday. That was it with the pencil, right? Just one trick, just drawing. What's going on here? Whoa, that's cool. Gonna ignore the bit of magicians wax right there. (laughing) That's great. Great use of that, that's Stay Cool by Tobias Dawstel, friend of mine, great creator. Coincidentally, Tobias showed me the most magical thing I've seen in my life at this year's MagicLive, and I hope you guys get to see it soon, it's great. Oh wow, a person change. This is so good, like it never ends. Makes you think, like, the amount of preparation and choreography, because obviously that iPad is a video and it's not gonna wait for him to catch up, he's gotta be on par. That's so great, using all these classic magic props. Really combining it greatly, I find. So that, that took a, you know, that took a little bit longer than he probably would have hoped. Ah! That's so good! Wow. Yeah, like, I mean at the end, he kind of, with the bill change, kinda took a while, but you can't blame him, you know, you don't wanna restart everything over again, but the fact that he can do that in one sequence, live. I mean, I would hire this guy for like, a corporate party or something, definitely amazing. That's crazy. Oh, I know this guy. This is, Louis Says. This is a friend of mine, a French Canadian magician, and this is, I guess, a skit from Just for Laughs. That's actually, you know what? Just for Laughs has honestly some of the greatest pranks that, like the smartest pranks I've ever seen, like look at this. The choreography there, everything is just so great. And they're surprised, I mean. That's what you really expect a magician to be doing in public, has completed vanished and leave you baffled, thinking it's a card trick. I mean, that's great. This is Michael Amar. - Okay, but you get to see it disappear. - Eh? - Oh! (laughing) That's so good, it's the little hand, but it's Thanos. Oh my god, I wanna see it again. - Alright, I'm gonna make this coin disappear. Ready? Okay. You get to see it disappear. - Ah, it's so good! (laughing) I immediately want a Thanos baby hand. Let's see here, this is Gone Deck by Shin Lim. With a twist, okay. Boom, nice. Very nice. What's the twist? Changes color, and boom. The whole deck changes color. Wait, wait, wait, wait, go back. Oh, see I got fooled there. I got fooled, because the subtlety was once that card changed colors, she went like this to show you the cards. In my head, without watching it twice, immediately looking back at it, I thought she had shown me the backs of the cards. Which is great, which is great, and that's just, that shows you what magic can do. It can erase those little memories and replace them in your mind. Thinking you've seen something and creating the illusion that you have, and then showing you all the reds, and I was like, "Oh, there's gotta be some red cards in there" and there wasn't, genuinely. 'Cause she had never shown them to me. Anyways, I know what I'm talking about, that was insane. Very nice. Oh, who's this guy here? Huh? I've already given this guy an up vote, actually I forgot to give, here's an up vote for you. (light instrumental music) He's a, these are like a lot of tricks that I had laying around that I've honestly probably performed before on video, it was just nice to string them together and get creative with a few of them. This one's one of my favorites here. This is actually a creation by Felix Bodden. He's an amazing magician, creator as well, creates a lot of visual magic like this. (clicks) No camera tricks. That is exactly what you get. And then inside the box of course, so that's a routine I come up with, using his gimmick that he supplied me with. I think that's pretty cool. All right, I'm gonna stop looking at my own videos. Wait, what? This guy calls it the Comfort Change. Well, that's really cool. I love that idea. Think we can replicate it? We'll see how it does. How'd that look, did that look okay? I don't know how that looked, I'm gonna check that out later, but this guy nails it. Love that. Great idea. What's this? (snaps) Oh wow. (snaps) (snaps) Mafia by PH on the Roof. Ooh! Really clever. My cat hates magic. (laughing) That's actually great. Without using duplicates. Very smart. I like that a lot. Learn magic, they said. It will be fun, they said. You wanna see what's really funny? Check this out. We got Lee's motorcycle here. It's funny that I see that post, because if you look on the ground, look what's happening here. (laughing) I'm in the same boat as you, brother, don't feel so bad! All right guys, well that's where I'll end today's video. Hope you enjoyed me checking out some of your clips. If you are interested in me maybe reviewing some of your magic, just put your performances up on the Reddit.com/magic Sub-Reddit where I tend to browse every now and then when we're looking to throw together a video, we try to see what's new and if there's enough new things, then we review those. So if you want to have your magic reviewed, go ahead and drop it there. And don't forget to like this video, subscribe if you're new here, guys. Can't wait to see you on Wednesday, we filmed an epic puzzle, which I cannot wait to show you. It's really really impressive, and yeah, we'll see you then. All right guys, thanks for watching, peace.
