foreign is the victory oh i am [Music] praise god hello everybody you're welcome to this very special praise night you know in the bible we're taught so many things the word of god brings us abundant information on all things concerning the kingdom of god how to live how to walk with him what to do what to say what to think how to relate with god on an everyday basis back in the old testament where the new testament has its foundation because you want to understand the new testament you have to study the old testament there's where the real foundation is but form that that old testament you'd notice two very important things the bible tells us about worship and praise and sacrifices and so on the first thing is the temple the focus on god's temple in moses day god asked him to build a tabernacle that represented the temple of god but before moses when you study in the book of genesis every time you find a man a prophet of god like abraham or isaac or jacob in their relationship with god they built an altar of worship an altar of sacrifice in moses day god said build me a tabernacle that was what evolved to the temple of solomon and then of course years later you had the one built by herod in the days of jesus what the bible tells us that's really significant is what the temple was for what was what was the the sanctuary this sanctuary that god asked them to build what was it for did you know there was no preaching going on in the sanctuary it was not for preaching or teaching it wasn't even for prayer the sanctuary was a place of sacrifice that's actually all they did there they offered sacrifices different kinds of sacrifices there was administration in the first sanctuary of the first tabernacle where the priests ministered once you came in from the outer court and then there was the inner sanctuary or the most holy place where the high priest handed once every year what did he do there he didn't pray he didn't pray he offered a sacrifice so the temple was primarily of a place of sacrifice that's all they did think about it think of the fact that god asked them to build him a sanctuary a temple as you would call it and in that place it was in prayer it wasn't preaching or teaching it was just a place of sacrifice they only offered sacrifices different kinds of sacrifices in the outer tabernacle you had the shoe bread the candle stick and then you had this golden altar none of them none of them was for preaching or prayer in the session so it's important for us to understand god's mind what's what's god's thinking years later when they were moved out of israel taken into captivity they had no temple no temple they weren't even allowed because you had to have the temple in jerusalem it had to be in jerusalem you couldn't put it somewhere else but they had places where they gathered there's where the word synagogue came from an assembly place you look at the days of ezra they even gathered in the street so it was a gathering that was the synagogue and that gathering was where they read scriptures to them they read scriptures to them and then if someone had an exhortation maybe one of the priests or prophet or someone then they gave an exhortation in that synagogue a place where they assembled but you know you don't you don't see that in the old testament because synagogue is actually the english rendering of the greek translation of the word for assembly so in the old testament you'll find two important words either he would say congregation or assembly so coming to the the new testament those greek words translate into what we call synagogue or church see so paul and the apostles eventually let that evolve into the term church from synagogue which was still lightly used in the book of acts briefly and then you find it in jude so what does that tell us say something significant about church the idea what's on god's mind how does he think in the new testament he instructs us to offer to him sacrifices he calls it spiritual sacrifices spiritual sacrifices in place of those sacrifices that were offered in the temple they didn't offer sacrifices in the synagogues the sacrifices were offered in the temple so the synagogues were for reading scripture teaching prayer didn't you notice when jesus went into the synagogue what he did or said he taught in the synagogues in the temple he went to the temple courts not the sanctuary where the priests ministered so when you see the use of the term temple in the new testament maybe in the gospels it doesn't mean they went into the sanctuaries whether the inner sanctuary or the outer sanctuary it's all the temple grounds they referred to as temple remember where jesus turned the tables of the money changers was not inside the sanctuary they were in the temple grounds they set up in the temple grounds they couldn't do that inside the sanctuary so these things are so important and that's why that's why praise true praise and worship must be restored to the house of god there must be a place for true worship praise worship you know praise is a form of worship you have to know that it's not it's got nothing to do with the styling it's a form of worship thanksgiving is a form of worship worship is a term that covers everything because it includes prayer it includes many things that's why sometimes you isolate praise to distinguish it from the generality of what worship includes so i know that today the many of you who are participating in the church or um you're watching from home or somewhere but we're glad to have you here with us and what we're just going to do today is worship the lord in thanksgiving lots of songs to praise him extol his majesty and you know when you read in hebrews chapter 13 and verse 15 he says that by jesus we should offer unto him sacrifices of the fruit of our lips it says that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks making confession to his name so when we talk about his greatness we're making confession to his name we talk about what he's done for us it's all about his greatness and how i would to god that this will return again god's churches will become a place of true spiritual sacrifices and there will be power in god's church that's what it's about in the old testament the bible tells us that when the priests and the levites when they administered in the house of god it says the glory of god filled the tabernacle and the priest couldn't even stand it when prostrate on the floor that glory is not something you need to be looking for today because in reality that glory is inside you now but having that glory come to action have power in your life depends on how you activate it because it's inside you now true praise and worship will bring you into a life of power and a lot of things that you pray for and ask god for you would find you don't need to pray and ask for he don't need to but most have to do such things because they have never understood the value of true worship so i hope today that by the time we're done your spirit will be stared as we sing sing along with us try to catch the meaning of the song let it get into you you've got to open yourself to it so it can produce the intended result in your life the inspiration the prophetic inspiration that's coming from these songs that are coming to you as we praise god the prophetic inspiration will bring you a word for your life that concerns your very situation and bring healing to you bring power to you and literally change life circumstances so i thank god for what's happening with you today i want to read to you a portion of scripture that's popular with many of you and it's in six verses psalm 150 praise he the lord praise god in his sanctuary praise him in the firmament of his power praise him for his mighty acts praise him according to his excellent greatness praise him with the sound of the trumpet praise him with the surgery and heart praise him with the timbrel and dance praise him with stringed instruments and organs praise him upon the loud simmers praise him upon the high sounding symbols that everything that had price praise the lord praise ye the lord we're gonna do right now i'll never stop praising you and don't you ever stop praising here be a part of this right now [Music] [Music] i'll is holidays [Music] [Music] oh oh jesus awesome i'll testify i praise
