difference to your preparation. Now, one of the questions that I get asked
all of the time on this channel is, Richard, what's the best way to make sure I pass my
interview? Well, I'm going to disclose that. I'm going to give you some really POWERFUL
POWER WORDS during this tutorial, so please do stick around. Now, before I give you those, a very warm
welcome to this interview training tutorial. My name is Richard McMunn. That's me there in the middle, the bald chap,

I am talking about? Well, essentially, power words will put you
ahead of the competition. The other competitors, the other people at
the interview won't. Using these POWER WORDS will increase your
chances of passing the interview significantly! So, “power words” are essentially strong
key words, phrases and sentences that will resonate positively with the interview panel. OK. That's the important thing, they will resonate
positively. You are essentially using certain powerful
words, keywords and phrases that the interviewer will want to hear. Number two: things you say that show the interviewer
you will be a GREAT MATCH for the role. So some power words are things that you will
say that show the interviewer you will be a great match for the role. And finally, power words are effectively ‘STATEMENTS
OF INTENT’ that give the interviewer the reassurance that you are going to do a great
job for them. OK. So those are the three things that power words
are. Here are my Top Ten Power Words and Phrases. My advice is to pause each one of them and
write them down, and then use them during your interview when you are answering the
interview questions. So, here we go. Number 1: “I want this job, because having
read the job description, the skills and qualities I possess are a perfect match for the role.” So let me repeat that. “I want this job because having read the
job description, the skills and qualities I possess are a perfect match for the role.” You can use that if they say to you: Why do
you want this job? That shows that you've read the job description,
which is important, and you are able to align your own skills and qualities to the role
that they have advertised. Number 2: “My strong values and work ethics
mean I will always work to an exceptionally high standard.” Let me repeat that. “My strong values and work ethics mean I
will always work to an exceptionally high standard.” Now, you can use that when they say to you
- Why should we give you the job over the other candidates? If you said that to me, that would be a win! You should give the job to me because my strong
values work ethics mean I will always work to an exceptionally high standard. It’s short, it’s positive and it's punchy! Number 3: “Your organization appeals to
me for a number of reasons. You have both a strong reputation within the
industry and your current and former employees all speak highly of you.” You could use that if they say to you - Why
have you chosen our company to work for? So these are all short, punchy and powerful,
and they will make you stand out from the other applicants. Number 4: Let's get straight into it. Don't forget, you can pause the video and
take note of these, and please don't get SUBSCRIBE and hit that LIKE button. Thank you very much. Number 4: “I am someone who continually
strives to improve and I will always take responsibility for my own personal and professional
development.” Now, a little secret. All employers want to take on people that
will continually improve and develop. We don't want to take on people who will just
sit back and do the same thing day in, day out. I want to take someone on who will improve
and also take that take responsibility for their own personal and professional development. That's a great thing to say! “I am someone who continually strives to
improve and I will always take responsibility for my own personal and professional development.” Great thing to say. Number 5: “Whilst working as part of a team,
I always focus on achieving the team's objectives and I will work hard on producing positive
results for my employer.” So, if you get asked any questions based around
‘team working’, which you will, you can say: “Well, whilst working as part of a
team, I always focus on achieving the team's objectives and I will work hard on producing
positive results for you, my employer.” Number 6: “The only way a company such as
yours will thrive in this tough environment, is if employees like me perform to a very
high standard.” That is a high-level intelligent employee,
somebody who knows that the only way the organization that they're working for will succeed, is
if they work really hard. Let me repeat that. “The only way a company such as yours will
thrive in this tough environment, is if employees like me perform to a very high standard.” That's a great thing to say during your interview! Number 7: “I am applying for this position
for two reasons. The first reason is that the job description
is a perfect match my skills, qualities and attributes, and the second reason is, you
are an exciting and innovative company to work for.” So again, that's a different one that you
can use if they say, you know, why should we hire you or why do you want this particular
job? Number 8: “I have a flexible approach to
work and I will always be available to work additional hours and shifts if needed.” Now, this is a great thing to say. It's great because the vast majority of employers
want people to be available to work extra hours, if need be. Okay. Now, some jobs don't require this, but if
you say, you know, I've got a flexible approach to my work and if you need me to stay beyond
work extra hours, I will be there. So that shows that you are a supportive employee
and you are prepared to stay behind. Number 9: “Although this is my first job
interview, I feel my passion, my drive for success overcomes my lack of work experience.” This is great for anybody who doesn't have
much experience at work or within the role that they're applying for. “Although this is my first job interview,
I feel my passion on my drive for success overcomes my lack of work experience.” And how you say it is really important. So, you notice that I talk quite positively
when I put in these across, and that's how I recommend you do it, too. Number 10: “I want to finish off by saying
thank you for giving me the opportunity to be interviewed for this position. If you hire me, I will not let you down.” That's a great thing to say at the end of
the interview. Once you've finished, and they say have you
got any questions, you ask a couple of questions and then say… “Can I just finish off by saying thank you
very much for giving me the opportunity to be interviewed for this position, and if you
hire me, I promise you I will not let you down.” That’s a powerful, punchy thing to say right
at the end of the interview, before you walk out. Now, if you would like to download my 21 GREAT
