symptoms we deal with the actions the behavior of something but the word clearly tells us as we are in our heart and the Hebrew heart is the way we feel about something the way we think about something it is how we see things it's the intertwining of our spirit and our soul so it's saying our actions are simply a result of what's already in our heart whatever's in my heart Gary is what's ultimately going to be in my life so if I want to just my life if I want to get out of depression if I want to get out of poverty if I want to get out of bitterness nobody can make you anything in life nobody can make you become bitter nobody can make you it becomes a part of choice of freewill if I want to adjust my life I got to adjust my heart I've got a course-correct the heart amen so let's say one more time as I am in my heart so I am at last in act so my actions say it with me my actions are result of my heart so we've learned this that what controls our mind or the intertwining of our spirit and our soul what controls our mind controls our life control is to exercise authoritative or dominating influence it's to direct so whatever is directing my mind the way I think about something the way I feel about it is going to direct my life that's why the battle or the struggle really does occur in the mind the mind is the battlefield so the quality of life that I live is determined by the quality of mind that I have in essence our life is what our thoughts make us therefore if I can ever change my way of thinking I can change my way of living now sounds simple but it's much more complicated and complex but I believe that one god moment with divine illumination and revelation can set you on a course to bring a permanent change if you want a quality life and how many of us would say I want a quality life then we have to have a quality mind because our thoughts make up our life as soon as I become a living soul as soon as I get born again then my mind legally can I teach you today because today I'm going to plow some places that are really going to bring that breakthrough if we embrace it as soon as I get born again then my mind can be controlled legally by the Spirit of God it can be connected to God and controlled by God so I have the legal right to have a spiritual mind somebody say God give me a spirit mind because we have the power to choose the will we find ourself engaged in a daily struggle a battle between a carnal mind which means I'm born again I'm going to heaven but my mind is controlled by my five senses what I see what I touch what I taste would I would I hear what I speak so it's sensory living and then there is a spiritual mind or I can have a spiritual mind which is controlled and connected by the Spirit of God and because I am in this daily battle as Paula shown us in Romans chapter seven I am warring between carnal and spiritual mind at all times now here's the key and here's the thing that you're going to walk away with today you are responsible for the stewardship of your mind you see we're going to eliminate all excuses today we're going to eliminate the blame game this is not going to be your parents fault it's not even gonna be the pastor's fault it's not going to be society's fault the government the present it's not even gonna be your spouse's fault we're going to take ownership and responsibility today because nobody can make me become or do or have anything in life I am responsible for the management of what comes in my mind and what goes out of my mind so God made me a steward because if it were so that somebody else got to dictate the thoughts of my life then they could control my destiny you can make me angry but you can't make me bitter see I can chew to get over the anger and become a better person I don't have to die in bitterness I don't have to be fearful or full of anxiety or worry or I don't have to live in poverty mindset or live less than Christ died to give me those are choices and decisions that I will daily battle with but I'm going to show you how you can overcome and live the victorious life that Christ died to give you through how you can get a spiritual mind somebody say bring it on pastor Paulo bring it on so if I'm responsible for the stewardship of my mind proverbs chapter 4 verse 23 says keep thy heart which is then are twining over your soul in your spirit at your mind keep thy heart with all what diligence for out of it flow the issues of life the word keeping the Hebrew means to guard and to protect so weird to be gatekeepers or to protect the opening of our mind now remember this okay I'm giving advance warning right I want you to get an image what does your life look like in five years what your life look like in ten years I want you to see yourself are you whole are you happy do you have restoration are you healthy are you fulfilling purpose are you moving and all that God ordained for you to be are you walking in headship and inheritance or are you put together fully to the condition that God created you to be in the first place I want you to get a visual image can you see it right now can you see that because here's what it says as a man thinks so is he at last in his actions so in 10 years if I don't like the condition of my life Mormon I don't get to blame everybody else I have to look back what did I plant as a seed in my life earlier that brought this action in this harvest now so if I don't like it listen there's some things in my life they got all jacked up and messed up and I didn't always guard and keep my mind the way I should have but I've learned because I don't like places of pain I don't like hurt so I've learned I don't want that to be a part of my life it's not a place of pleasure so I'm on guard I'm gonna guard what goes in my mind and I've got to be responsible to take some things out of my mind Oh see I'm helping somebody right now there's some people you got to forget what they look like I'll do my own brave dance all right don't make me get in your stuff because I know look at everybody got real quiet say I'm about to change the way I think about you turn to somebody I'm gonna change the way I think so we have to be gatekeepers to protect the opening of our mind what goes in and what comes out it goes on to say with all diligence and this is crucial and when all diligence is characterized by steady earnest and energetic effort it means persevering application so die it's not something that I just osmosis okay I'm going to have the mind of Christ because I say it I have to have persevering application Dyan Noah traveled with me for years d-did they they know that there are certain habits in my life that I'm going to do certain things i'ma read everyday I'm going to take the Word of God in every single day and digest and the reality is because I'm afraid of the life or the person that I would become without that because as I think so I will become in my actions and so it says I've got a persevere and put this application I have to do something about my way of thinking romans chapter 1 and 2 or wormans chapter 12 verse 1 and 2 verse 2 in the King James says be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is the good acceptable and perfect will of the Lord can I read you the message version real quick I like the message in verse 1 and 2 it says so here's what I want you to do in the King James says do you present yourself a living sacrifice but the message says it like this here's what I want you to do God helping you take your everyday ordinary life you're sleeping you're eating you're going to work you're walking around life and place it before God isn't offering so in other words he said living a sanctified set apart life is everyday ordinary it's not just Sunday I want you when you sleep when you walk when you talk your walk over your job everything I want you to take it and place that before God as an offering and Racing what God does for you is the best thing that you can do for him verse 2 don't become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking in other words you don't become a product of what's around you what's around you becomes a product of how you think you should be influenced by every person that comes in and out every cultural influence that the waves of of everything the time you should be the influencer so it says you're so well adjusted that you're not influenced by culture that you fit in without even thinking instead fix your attention on God you'll be changed we're from the inside out so where does God start change guys the inside the Bible says we're two murders and envy and lying and Wars and all these and fornication where do all these things come from they don't come from the outside you say well yes they would know the Bible says they come from the inside so it's how I think about something so if I want to change whatever is manifesting in my life I've got to change the way I see it I've got to change the way I'm thinking and so he goes on to say unlike the culture around you always dragging you down to its level of immaturity God brings the best out of you and develops well for maturity in you so you are transformed how by the renewing of your mind look at some I Samuel be changed by renewing my mind just tell them Sam change by renewing my mind so now I need to understand what does renewing me because renewing means renovation and renovation there's adds it like this is a complete change for the better it is a compound from the word a na which means again denoting intensity and knose which means new and freshness so think about what it's saying renovation according to greek literally means this it means to renew my mind to renovate a complete change for the better but that change does not come without intensive application if we think that all of a sudden i'm going to have a spiritual life and a spiritual mind by going to church on sundays we've got another thing coming to us because there's been too much formation in my life which I'm going to show you how thought process is formed there's been too much formation from events from what people have spoken over me for my experiences from the culture I was raised in from the environment I've been placed in from everything around me that is formed the way I think the way I see things the framework the pattern my what my why my how there's too much of that and it's not brought me the best of life the best of life is in Christ Jesus which means if I want to change my way of living I've got to change my way of thinking but it means there's going to be an intense process some people need to break some things down in your life before you build some things up we've got to change the way we see things change the way we think about things so to renovate means to restore to an earlier condition as by repairing or remodeling I want you to get that to restore to an earlier condition to impart new vigor or revive to bring back into good condition to make fresher sound again as though new to clean up and replace broken parts how many of you know that we have some broken parts in our life out of some of the brokenness we bring brokenness into our life and bring brokenness to other people but we've got to clean up from the broken parts in our life we've got to replace the worn parts we've got to repair it means to make new or as if it's new again the English prefix re means again somebody shout again look at your neighbors say again and I'll get it for example you cannot renew a magazine subscription you did not have before so what this is telling me and this is vitally important because if you don't get this you're gonna miss everything what is telling me is that I had a mind before so I've got to renew you can't renew a subscription magazine that you didn't have before so if I'm to renew my mind it means before the dysfunction before the brokenness before I came out of my mama's womb and a doctor slapped me for no reason to make me start breathing in life before any of that half I had a mind see this is what it tells me it tells me that we had his mind and heard him from the beginning beginning means dateless past it means before I was ever released from my mother's womb God at RT hid me in the womb of Christ I came from the loins of Christ was released through a woman when a man came and put seed into her and I was genetically dispositioned to come into a purpose and talking on a certain date to bring forth the word that God had formed me to be here at me as a body in humanity with the core of who I really am a spirit being I am a spirit being who expresses and struggles with the experience of humanity so I was a word that was released into the world to come forth with a specific assignment that's why every word shall not return to God useless avoid but I will return to God fulfilled because out of logos the full discourse I am a Rhema a revelation that came forth God spoke over me in eternity he decreed and he cleared to me but when I came to earth I was born under her curse I was born because of one man's sin into sin and I was shapen in iniquity therefore I lost my mind in the fall but because Jesus Christ went to Calvary he redeemed my mind from the curse of the law according to Galatians chapter 3 now if you're gonna get this I want you to understand that I had my full mind when I was with God in eternity when I came to the earth I lost my mind because I took on the mind of the first Adam which means I had limitations and I was a carnal person but Jesus became sin that I might become righteousness there was a divine exchange that took place that he took my wicked messed up warped mind and gave me the mind of Christ which is why Philippians 2:5 says we do have the mind of Christ we hold the thoughts and the feelings of the Messiah you see I have the mind of Christ but that means I've got to go back to what I had in the beginning in the dateless past before I got jacked up my life before I was abandoned before my dad committed suicide before people told me I had limitations before they tried to put labels on me before I thought I was a product of Tupelo Mississippi before I thought that I came out of this I've got to go back to who I really am because Who I am is not what I've experienced Who I am is not what people have said about me Who I am is not what they've decreed over me Who I am is what Heaven has declared what God has said what God has decreed what God has established in my life I need my mind back somebody say I'm getting my mind back today can I teach you Galatians 3:13 and 14 Christ had the redeemed which means to buy up for oneself to recover from the power of another to ransom as from the curse of the law being made a curse for us where it is written cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree or Calvary that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles every ethnic group through Jesus Christ that we might receive the promise of spirit through faith so what he said is the divine exchange took place you had the mind of Christ you lost the mind when because of the first Adams decision but when Christ hung on the cross you received the mind of Christ back again now why don't we act it out why don't we walk it out as a man thinketh in his heart so at last he is an act because I've got to expose every lie of the devil I've got to align myself with the mind that is really mine look at somebody I'm getting my mind back today tell somebody I'm getting my mind back today and let me tell you how powerful this is we think 60,000 thoughts a day approximately those 60,000 90% of them are repeated thoughts the next day that means we have habitual patterns out of that 90% that is repeated 80% of those are a and T's are automated negative thinking it means that beneath the iceberg what you see on the surface the symptoms that you see is really driven by the thoughts that I have all feelings are thought driven feelings are important because they help locate the way you think language is a locator of what you think out of the abundance of the mouth heart what speak it so if I want to change my way of living I've got to change my way of thinking so once a person is filled with the Spirit of God how many of you are born again if not we can solve that right now you're born again right what you means this you are legally entitled for the Spirit of God to connect your mind to be controlled and connected by the Spirit of God you ready so say bring it on pastor Paulo so once a person is filled with the spirit the Holy Ghost begins each day to bring to his or her remembrance somebody say I'm going to remember everything that God spoke over them when they were a word out of his mouth before they were formed with the body so here's the problem life lies to me and he gets too noisy it clutters around me and begins to tell me - it's so much louder than what he's spoken I can't recall or recollect or remember what he said that's why I'm living out and acting out the stupid things that I'm doing in this earth but if I ever can hear him with clarity again if I can shut the noise out and clear the clutter then I'm going to see who I really am and when I can see who I really am then when I think right I'm going to act right because I don't have a behavior problem I have a belief problem because I bought into a lie in a false illusion instead of realizing that I'm not a product of what I went through I'm a product of who God says I am so by and through his spirit we've begun to remember to recall his voice to recollect a predestined inheritance John chapter 14 verse 26 is vitally important but the comforter which is the Holy Ghost whom the father will send in my name he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your what remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you bring to your remembrance literally means to remind quietly and to suggest to the memory can I teach you a few little things real quick how many of you ever had deja vu ever had deja vu you having a spiritual moment what you're doing is you're just remembering it piece of eternity in an earthly realm at that moment so when God brings to remembrance let me tell you why we do the things we do we want to numb all of us as humans hate pain you hate pain nobody wants pain so to avoid pain if I don't have clarity I numb my life out I either think too much I buy too much I drink too much I sleep around too much come on I work too much I eat too much I get into all your too much --is come on I I go to church too much my life is out about why is everybody looking like an angel right now but they never do anything and and so because I can't hear clearly I don't have the mind of Christ I don't want to be in the pain of what I perceive of the false illusion so I know my desensitize I can't deal with it so instead of embracing the feeling and getting through the feeling to locate the negative thought and to change it I just try to avoid it well the devil is a liar we're going to hit some things head-on because you can't conquer what you don't confront and you can't confront what you don't identify the Holy Spirit will remind quietly and suggest to my memory he will bring me what God has said about me which will give me the ability to course-correct and to pull down every stronghold pull down every voice that is not an alignment with the voice of God as a new creation in Christ I've received bat my right mind so again you can only renew something that you had before the only way to move into your god-ordained destiny and purpose is to get the mind of Christ you have to renew your mind back to the start where you were formed out of the loins of the Father when you do that then you can start walking and talking and living the way he initially designed and purpose for you to do until I can hear his voice louder than any other voice then I'm not gonna live in my god ordained destiny I will live as a product of what people have said about me but Genesis chapter 1 verse 26 through 28 says God said let us make man and what our image and after our likeness and let them have dominion now stop right there Dominion becomes the first fruit of evidence of the created in the image and the likeness of God so what is Dominion it means there's nothing that controls me there is nothing that has a greater dominance over me because the fruit and evidence that I am in His image and I'm in his likeness this is a good teaching today this is for some people that say I want to go to the next level living don't come hike me up give me some real substance and give me something to eat then when I go home and have to live with that person who plucks my last nerve and have to go to a job that I don't even like being on and have to deal with all the different things that I have to deal with in life that I can function in the likeness and the image of who I really am because image means character it has to do with with who God is so let me show you what that means it's a shade or figure image is identity or it's the sameness of essential character in every different circumstance and situation so when you have a character an essential nature how you are at all times you see as the child of God in the image of God I don't have to struggle to love it is hard for me not to love because God is love what is difficult is to hate it's hard to hate somebody I have to work at night and not you got to work at it because in the image of God come on you have the likeness of his nature of his character now you've got to know who God's character is God's characters is anger endure for a moment but as mercy goes to generations you gotta understand God is love so you take on the character of who God is you think God's sitting up there with a character problem an identity problem an essence of who he is at all times in all places under all sick of situations and circumstances God has not freaked out because of the economy God has not taken Prozac and he's not taking nerve medication because your family went through a crisis God is the same today yesterday and forevermore well here's the mind that has to be in need I now had the image of God which means I had the character of God you ready and I'm also made in the likeness of God likeness has to do with function so not only do I have the character God but I function like God Marvin what that means in an everyday practical way of living is that if I function like God is there anything too difficult for God is there anything too hard from God so if I have the character of God and now I function like God then why am I sitting here freaking out over everything because when a mountain rises up against me or anything but rear up against me faith which is the substance of what's on the inside of me because it's formed because I am the word come on do you understand the God in you contains the word can say to that thing they would rear up against you in the name of Jesus I don't think so so it poverty comes against you a depression comes against you you're not struggling to function like God you're not struggling to function in peace you're not struggling to function and joy you're not struggling to function and long-suffering you're not struggling to function and patience you're not struggling to function in love if you are created in the image of God and you have the function of God it is not a difficulty then for my nature I don't have to try to be a woman guys I am a woman lips hits all of it working I like my femininity I've got that thing going on I like my six inch heels I like everything I don't have to try to be a woman I talk like a woman I walk like a woman I act like a woman cuz I am a woman something's up I'm behaving I'm behaving something's off if you are something and you try to be something else it's who you are you don't amend and have to try to be a man you are a man it's who you are you don't have to try to me so it's just your nature a fish doesn't try to swim duck swims just comes out a human just breathes a bird just flies it's who you are so if I am created in the image in the character of God who and the likeness the function of God God stepped out on nothing took nothing flung it into nothing created everything so why are we at home stressing out taking all kinds of anxiety pills I don't know if I'm gonna make it tomorrow and what's go my god that's not the nature and the function of God so now let's expose that lion sneakin snot-nosed devil that I hate because the problem is I am created in the image I had the character of God the function of God and I and I came from God with the mind of Christ but at the fall of men lost that but at the crucifixion of Christ regained that so what's the issue the issue is I believe the lie over the truth oh come on I'm gonna make it I'm gonna make you uncomfortable in a minute the issue is it's easier to live as a victim than a victor the issue is I'm too lazy to do the work so let me blame the church blame the pastor blame my spouse blame the economy blame everybody else blame my mama blame my daddy it's gonna be quiet in this presbyterian church for them on preaching anyhow because I've got to have energetic effort you're not gonna get by living in victory on my prayers you gotta pray yourself through you got to teach yourself the word you've got to train your own mind you've got to encourage yourself you've got to lay hands on yourself stop being 2 years old with a whisker there's a point in a time come on it passes this that's your job no it's not if if you come to church every single Sunday which you know y'all don't come every single Sunday look at your neighbors say she's talking to somebody behind you right now and I got every Sunday every Sunday pastor Michael this is the most faithful member here heathen pastor Frank one at church last week and that's the most faithful y'all know that okay if you come every single Sunday every day every time that's 52 weeks I got if I don't preach long which I always do all right and let's say I preached an hour each time which hour trying to get me down a half hour and so if we gave I gave me that's 52 hours in a year 52 hours in a year is less than that's two days so I've got two days out of 365 you think I can change you know all I can do is provoke thought in you that you're going to get up in the morning and get this word and be disciplined in this word and take this word and be responsible and stop making excuses and stop putting blame on everybody else because if you want to find a way you will and if you don't you find an excuse I am responsible for my life thank you so much thank you Pastor Mike slap somebody right upside their head Sam changing the way I'm thinking about you I'm responsible for my own life I'm responsible as a man thinks so he is in his actions at last can I keep breaking this thing down so image denotes character likeness denotes conduct so when I understand who I am and who God is it will determine the direction the decisions and the destination for my life so I'm looking 10 years down the road if I don't want a certain destination direction I don't want to certain way of things then I've got to change something about how I see it today okay say bring it on pastor Paulo bring it on so my self-concept the way I see my world represents the core view that I have of myself in the world you cannot change what you don't identify so can I teach you real quick how you were formed can I show you where the enemy jacked you up can I just help you because if you can see it like Gary if I can see where I got off then I can course correct if I can see what's wrong I don't know much about baseball or anything but I'm sure if you're hitting that if you keep missing it and missing and missing it you're gonna find out when you're not seeing it right and you're going course correct that you're gonna just something right so we've got to see how did I get formed how did I get to this place how did I keep attracting the things that I think I deserve oh I'm gonna go ahead and go here cuz this is quiet some you are married to the greatest treasure and you keep going after trash I thought I'd just bring it on home pastor Michael you can clean it up why do I do that don't you want to know why you do that I mean don't you ever scratch your head and go why do they keep messing up their life got the greatest job but you keep getting fired I know it's always the bosses fault in the company's it always is it's that boss that boss is so mean I'm in charge I have ownership of my life I have ownership oh it's quiet right now oh you should see the body language I liked you pastor Paul until today it's okay strapping you're gonna be okay buckle your seatbelt turn to somebody say I'm about to change the way I think about you about to change the way I think about you all right because that's why I even watch when we have brought offense to one another and hurt and somebody's legitimately hurt you seven times seventy a day forgive them seventy times seven apply mercy to the situation and if you change the way you think about them and believe that God can give them a spiritual mind you can have the best life in the world you can have the best life but we're gonna change some things today we're going to change it so you have to here's where we get messed up we used other's situations environments people things have been spoken over us as mirrors in life now some of that stuff was good some of the things that were said to some of the things that happen to us not everything's all messed up but it's not always formed right so so that means that whatever was put in me I was like this little clay and whatever is formed was not necessarily by the hands of God so whatever it formed me was not necessarily accurate because accuracy is the Word of God this is true so sometimes I was formed by by falsities by things that weren't true so if we used other people as our mirrors which we did when you were two three four or five years old it could have been a parent it could have been a teacher it could have been your first grade boyfriend it could have been your pastor whatever it was okay they were your mirrors but they weren't necessarily accurate mirrors because the only thing that reflects truth at 100% is God's Word the only thing so they reflected into us and we saw an image right a character that not necessarily is who we are we saw a likeness that is not necessarily our resemblance and so when we took in that mirror whether it was a parent or a teacher or person that was a babysitter maybe they made us feel worthwhile and accepted so we felt loved and lovable but maybe they did it and maybe they didn't even say it but like I said last week when I when - Lily Rubin to go shopping I'll never forget Randy and I had just started pastoring here and everything and I'd walk in and I wanted to buy one of those dresses and it was three four five hundred dollars and I just look at it like going oh my gosh if I could ever buy a dress like that I'd just be like a princess I'd be the mo it just be incredible and I'll never forget I walked in and a lady looked at me like she didn't even say anything she just looked at me and she made me feel like as a shoplifter she made me feel like I didn't deserve to be in that store now I've never in my life stole anything but just her body position said you aren't worthy of this now my mind is saying to me girl you make five dollars an hour and you're making me feel like something less its core it was insanity but it didn't get the fact that I still felt it I felt like I didn't deserve to be in that kind of store the devil is a liar I mean for real now here's the reality if I choose to take my budget and shop at Goodwill that's my choice if I choose to shop at Lilly Rubin that's my choice it's not but the reality is they can't make a bazillion gazillion garment to wrap around the value of who you really are and people will make you feel less in life and have I bought into that lie I would have felt like I am limited in life I'll never get that I'll never deserve that I don't know it doesn't matter if you can't afford it okay afford it it's not a matter deserve because there's nothing that all the money in the world could buy to put around you that is created worthy enough of the value of who you really are and life will lie to you and people will make you feel like you're not accepted like you shouldn't live in that neighborhood you shouldn't go to that school you shouldn't be a pastor you better help me preach right now that you're really not worthy well the devil is a liar because who who killed you and made you God in the first place who made you determine the value of Who I am because I am fearfully and wonderfully made I am created in the image of God and maybe if you can't see my value take a deeper look tell somebody say take a deeper look you're not looking at the real me I need you to see now here's the problem everyone on the outside is not your real enemy the enemy that you got a battle is your inner me it's how you see yourself because you ultimately attract to yourself what you believe about yourself and what you think you deserve you better hold your head up high whether you feel like it or not you are a king's kid you are royalty you're an heir with God you are enjoying it with Jesus Christ ambassador of the Most High God so the problem is this if somebody treats us bad and we or they reject us we perceive ourselves as bad and then our badness is part of us and therefore they were unworthy the problem is others don't treat us accurately now that we have distorted mirrors we have a faulty belief system they clearly watch to clearly know my identity I must break the mold and look in the real mirror which is the Word of God which holds truth now molds order but there's not a big eye and a little you there's no low man on the totem pole in the church there's a divine order of things so that we can keep a correct order but there's no hierarchy that guys oh how many o or what truth all thy Commandments are truth so here's the thing this word is truth everything that doesn't line up with the word is alive in it's my responsibility to expose the correction all the time you are responsible to get in this word and to take this word and say how am i miss handling my attitude how am i miss handling my finances if you get sick and tired of being broke long enough you look in the word and see what God has to say about it if you get tired of being depressed long enough you'll get in the word and see what God says about it and you'll find out there's a reason that I'm living the way I'm living but when I find God's word if I get tired of being in a place of pain I won't get in that word and say what does your word have to say Oh Paulo the reason you had this is because you have unforgiveness in your heart you've got to forgive that person oh the reason you have this is because you're not tithing you've got to get in covenant and obey
