- My first ever play through of "Pokémon, Brilliant Diamond," starts now. It's Professor Rowan, not Ro-wan, I was wrong
about that for a long time. It's a Munchlax. I am the basic white boy. What is the name of my friend? You know, I just, I only associate this guy as Barry. I think I'm just going to call him, Barry. What is this dramatic mu - Oh, it's the TV. I forgot about this. Where's my hat? Mommy. Twinleaf Town. - [Character] Ooh. - Oh my goodness. Use some hair gel, man. Maybe he's using too much hair gel. I love the facial
expression of Barry's mom. She just looks so tired. Route 201. Come along, Barry. We're off to the lake. And Professor Roman. Oh, he was gone from
Sinnoh for four years, huh. Oh, I've played "Platinum" so much, but not "Diamond" and
"Pearl," so I forgot. This is how you get the starters
in "Diamond" and "Pearl," The birds. I get to pick a starter. Piplup? No. I'm sorry to those of you
who are Empoleon fans, but I am not. I love Turtwig. I love Torterra. But, one of the only
team members I've planned for this play through is a Gliscor and having a Torterra and a Gliscor on the same team would be no bueno. So I'm going with Chimchar. The first battle. The little Starly is there
and I must crush its bones. Sorry, that was violent. I just need to burn it. All right, that took longer
than I thought it would, but I did beat the Starly. Would have been embarrassing if I didn't. Oh no. Did you use the Pokémon that were in here? Yeah, we did. Our lives were in danger. From tiny birds who
were only going rrrrrr. Aw, that's cute, Barry. Oh, finally. Oh, I just run automatically now. Let's go. Oh my gosh, I'm so fast. - [Young Voice] Y'all, you
wanna see some real speed? - I made it Sandgem Town. - [Character] Ooh. - Dude, ow. - We're so close to each other. Huh. I get to keep the Chimchar? What a twist. I'm gonna call it Howler,
after Howler monkeys. Several of which are red. All right. The Pokédex, for me. When do I get my hat? "Sandgem Town, Town of Sand." It's not a desert town. There's a small beach. Oh, the town map looks really cool. I like this art design. Oh, I can Poké Balls immediately. That's wonderful. Is she really making me
go all the way back home? Oh, I forgot about this. Why does Sinnoh do this? Why? What's the purpose? I have 20 Poké Balls
and two Premier Balls. I'm a grown man. The Guidebook? (Gasps) Am I a child once again? Wait, I'm forgetting, oh. My hat. Yes. Can't be playing a Pokémon
game without a hat. Come on, guys. All right. Now my adventure really begins. I want to catch some other Pokémon though. I don't know if any of
the Pokémon around here will end up on my final team, but I do want to catch
some, what is going on. Wait, okay. That took forever. All right, you know what? I'll catch a Bidoof. I want to complete the Pokédex eventually. The Bidoof is mine. "With nerves of steel?" "Nothing can perturb it." What a legend. Whoa. Shinx has Thunder Shock right off the bat. I made it to Jubilife City. A mustachioed man. Where are those clowns, literal - clowns. All right, I got the Pokétch. You give me the Old Rod, right? Yeah. Now I can get Magikarps and nothing else. The water looks so wet. And my fish type Pokémon is, exactly what I expected. Ooh, the water battle
scene looks really nice. What kind of Pokemon or
here in Ravaged Path? What, is it just Psyduck
and Zubat, I'm assuming? There's the Zubat. A Shinx. I'm tempted to use Luxray. I've used Luxray just
so many times though. Oh, this one has rivalry. Nevermind. Okay, this one has Intimidate. We can catch this one. I'm gonna call it X-Ray. I don't know if it'll end
up making the final roster, but it might. Well, it has an attack
lowering nature, so. Probably not this one. Barry is attacking me. I will defeat you, good sir. "Don't get cocky, kid." Kid? We're the same age. Okay, one complaint I have about this game is that when Pokémon
level up, it is very slow. Hello, Piplup. Okay, it's not going for a water move. I think they're gonna be nice to me. There we go. Finally. What exciting Pokémon will I find here? None of them? Okay. It's Abra. Viva Las Vegas, first try. What of these Pokémon that I catch early do I start leveling up? 'Cause literally the only
team members I've planned are Gliscor and Infernape. TM98s. Do TMs break again? Aw, man. I love the cave battle arena. Like, the walkway in the
background with the lantern looks really nice. Oh, I noticed, I just
noticed the coal boxes. That's a nice touch too. Oreburgh City, ooh. I like the rock color design. That looks nice. What is this kid doing? I can find a gym, dude. All right, we got this route up here. Assuming it has Pokémon, like
Machop, Ponyta, and Geodude. You know, I know it's wildly unrealistic, but I want a shiny, a random shiny so bad. It would make team decisions a lot easier. Machop. - Ha-ha, it is I, Grunty Boy. - Power-Up Punch? That's amazing. - Hey. Dude, don't ignore me. I'm here to talk to you about
the sponsor of today's video, %"RAID: Shadow Legends." - I haven't used Chimchar
outside of Gen IV in so long that I had just, I'm going to be pleasantly surprised by so many move set changes. - Uh, well, he's clearly engrossed, But I'm so excited about
"RAID: Shadow Legends" that I need to tell someone about it. So I guess I'll tell you. You've probably heard of "RAID" and all the fun you can have kicking butt with its over 600 champions. But it's also got a huge
variety of bosses, too. Like the Guardian of the
Void Keep, Malek Kavar. - I like how the little bits of coal going around the corner are, you know, wow-ow. (laughing) - Dude I am talking. Malek Kavar was a priest of the light, but became captivated by the
darkness and was exiled for it. This led him to master
the magic of the Void, meaning you can get void potions from him to ascend your champions. To do that though, you'll
have to overcome his poison, which is tough. Especially since he has an ability that can deal all points
and damage at once. You'll need shield buffs and healing to counteract the damage, or the ability to cleanse the debuffs. - It's so weird that Machop has a tail. The other two don't. Why does Machop have one? - Stop interrupting me. I love "RAID" in general though, especially kicking butt in the campaign and collecting new champions. I also love that they're
constantly adding new stuff to the game. Like the big update this
month, the Guardian Ring. Which includes a whole
Faction Guardian system, a new way to get legendary
champions you missed out on, and an entirely new way to
upgrade your favorite champions. - Oreburgh Mine. Aren't there Onyx in here too? I'd catch an Onyx for the Pokédex. I already have a Geodude, leaf me alone. - Ah, I can't take this any more. I'm finishing this up so I don't have to deal
with your nonsense anymore. If you want to play "RAID," head to the link in the description below or scan the QR code on screen. New players will get
an epic hero, Chonoru, who's amazing in the Doom Tower, 200,000 silver, one XP
boost, one energy refill and one ancient shard, so you can summon an awesome champion as soon as you get in-game. You'll find rewards here for 30 days only. All right, ya happy now? Enjoy your dumb game that doesn't even have Team Rocket in it. Uh. Ta-ta. - Big ol' block of coal. Pretty glad I got Power-Up
Punch before I came in here, but there's still no way
I fight the gym leader until Howler has evolved. Hm, I think that Onyx isn't full scale, which is disappointing. No, it's definitely not, yeah. It'd be way bigger than that guy. Ahhhhhh. Oh, I was fine. Oh, please don't have guts. Oh no. - [Character] Ooh. (dying sound effect) - Crap. This random Starly I
caught has Wing Attack. So I think I'm going to be alive? Whack. Okay. Not what you want to see. 'Pelling out of here,
repelling out of here. Gotta heal my lil' monkey friend. All right, so there is
no way I take on this gym until I have evolved my starter. So, let's work on that. Youngster Michael, it's me but tiny. And with very short shorts. Ah, the Oreburgh Gym. Looks exactly like I thought it would. I'm just in here to fight the trainers. I'm not, I don't have an Monferno yet. Okay, I like that every trainer, it has like a Oreburgh Gym field. It's not just the leader. - [Character] Ooh. - What? That was one Rollout. I'm growing a concerned. Yeah, yeah, Monferno's not weak to rock. Okay. I just have to evolve it
and my struggles will end. Okay, defeated a random wild Machop. And, which means that
Howler, the Chimchar, becomes Howler, the Monferno. Do I still get Mach Punch even
though I got Power-Up Punch? I do. Hello Roark. I'm going to take you on
with nothing but a fire type. That's also a fighting type. I think I'm gonna be okay? Feel like maybe I should
have gotten a grass or a water type as a backup, but maybe I'll be fine. What's nice, and makes
this easier than Gen IV is that Power-Up Punch is gonna make me stronger and stronger the
more Pokémon I defeat. So by the time he sends in Cranidos, I should be able to OHKO it. All right. Will I be able to OHKO the Onyx? I have higher attack now and I now get Stab. Also, one thing I forgot to mention is that all major battles
I will be playing on effectively set style. I'm not actually changing it, 'cause I don't care about set when I'm fighting random trainers. Okay, I didn't OHKO it. What's it going to do to me? Okay, this is neutral. Oh, we take those all day. All right, we got this. Yeah, so, it's gonna ask
me if I want to switch and in gym battles and
other major battles, I will always say "No." I'm also gonna try to do all the battles without using healing
items, the major ones. All right, here's his Cranidos. - [Sound Effect] Wowwwww. - Whoa, he's got a cool little, a little ball capsule thing. Power-Up Punch it. Plus four... Is an OHKO. The first gym badge is mine. The Badge Case, do I get to polish them? TM76s. How many, are there ways to get more? If you're gonna me it so TMs break, there has to be some way
to get unlimited ones. I obtained the Stickers that Roark uses. Oh my God. "A wild Bidoof helped
out by using Rock Smash!" That's amazing. The Old Rod is just gonna
get me more Magikarp down here, right? Yep. Okay, that's what I expect - bom. But, the waterfalls are beautiful. I must say, they so far
are doing an excellent job with the aesthetics of the battle arenas. It looks a little weird
that me and my monkey look like we are Jesus. But aside from that. Oh, that's right. This multi battle, against Team Galactic with their galactically
egregious haircuts. My God. It's Team Galactic, we are battling them on a
strange plane of existence. All right. I dealt with these jerks. That's right, you come at me
with a Wurmple and a Zubat, what do you expect? Loss. Oh my gosh. Oh, we're meeting Bebe now. I can access the Box anywhere now and I already get Ball Capsules. That's cool. Oh, I read about this on Serebii. Now that I can get into the TV station, because there was a literal
clown there the entire time. Oh my gosh. I'm already getting a Loto prize. An Ultra Ball. Oh, I found it. Okay, Serebii had a mistake. It said second floor, but
it's on the third floor. And I've unlocked Mystery Gift early. Manaphy Egg Gift. Woo, I got the Manaphy Egg that I'm - Guess I'll hatch it at some point, but I'm not using this thing. Clothing Gift. Does this mean I get
the Platinum Clothing? Platinum Style. Let's go. Woo, I got my Quick Balls. Oh man, I can't actually change clothes until I get to Veilstone City. I want to rock the Platinum
Style, but I cannot. I have the clothing. Why can't I just go into
any secluded corner, do it there? Anyway, so let's move on. Wait, is this Tre - Teighler? T-E-I-G-H-L-E-R? - [Sound Effect] Wow. - Oh, hey, there were my flames. I have never seen Taylor
spelled like that in my life. And I think it was better before this. Oh hey, my Starly's evolving. Well that's fun. Ah-ha, Floaroma Town. Oh look, an old couple. How cute. Whoa, they're selling
Net Balls this early? That's pretty cool. Can I get your papa? I will crush those who
have captured your papa. It's Friday. Where's the Drifloon? What can we find here? Pachirisu. (laughing) I don't know
why I said it like that. A Buizel. A fun water type to use, but, have used it before and actually my first ever
play through of this region. Oh my God, it lives. That's amazing. All right, I defeated this guy. The Floaroma Meadow. I love the petals floating
about, that's beautiful. All right, I saved this
guy from Team Galactic and now I'm getting Honey, which is so exciting. Now I can wait six hours for a Wurmple. All right. Time to see if I can beat
Mars using only my Monferno. 'Cause I still haven't committed
to any other team members. Ooh, you can't see me. Ooh, you can't see me. Ooh, you can't see me. - [Announcer] John Cena. - But you can. (laughing) She - I don't know why, she
just looks funnier chibi than the other people. I think it's her ridiculous skirt. Mars. You have (indistinct). I didn't think that through
as much as I should have, but it's fine. This'll be a two-hit KO. Ooh, hello. What do I think I'm doing to your Pokémon? Defeating them. Better damage roll, let's go. Ooh, eee, uh. Power-Up Punch. Fake Out, ooh. Is it only level 16 this time? Did they decrease its level? How are you faster than me? It's fine, I have Mach Punch. Okay, yep. I win. Come on, come on. Yes. Oh, hoo. By the way, if you've watched
this far into the video, that means you probably like my content. So, if you haven't
subscribed to this channel, then you should. It would be great if you did. Oh, huh, cool. I have a Luxio I've
used in battle one time. Where is the Drifloon? It's a Friday. Does it like, have, does
it only start showing up, and it like does it at midnight? Because if so, that's annoying. 'Cause no one's gonna be able
to get a Drifloon for a week. I can't remember where you get Honey. 'Cause I never used it before. 'Cause it's a very
frustrating encounter method. Or at least I used it before,
I haven't used it in years. Okay, there we go. I'll buy 10. I'm very interested in using Roserade. But when I had a Budew back
in my Platinum Nuzlocke, it took a disgustingly long amount of time for it to evolve into a Roselia. So I'm like, can I just like, live with this, uh, oh, this battle arena's so nice. Look at the mountain in the background. Oh, it's beautiful. Anyways. If I'm gonna use a Roserade,
I'm catching a Roselia, not a Budew. I'm not dealing with Budew. A Shellos. It's the less cool kind though. All right, Eterna Forest. Cheryl. Hey girl. Off we go run, running through the forest. There's a mossy rock. Four leafy on. Oh gosh, Pachirisu is bulky. That's why it's a world champion. Ooh, Flame Wheel. Life Dew. Hey, that's a new move. Thanks for the healing. That's kind of fun. Oh, hey, now that Abra I left in my party is becoming a Kadabra. That's fun. Oh, are these psychics? Ooh, that's not great. Oh, look at their lasers. Oh wait, it's just Abra. Okay, this is fine. Energy Ball. This Abra's running Energy Ball this early in the game? How did you learn that? Oh, there are so many double
battles in this forest. It really is kind of amazing how much Monferno just destroys basically every aspect of the early game. Oh, hey. Oh, that was, okay. I didn't battle every trainer, but I battled several of them, so. Wait, why didn't she
give me a Soothe Bell? Aren't you supposed to
give me a Soothe Bell? Ah, but I made it to Eterna City. And does this mean I can
go to the Underground now? I can. Oh. Oh, I have to. Ohhh. I'm here. All right. Time to explore the Grand Underground for the very first time. And it already looks like
I'm near a question mark. (Gasps) Fountain Spring Cave. The first hideaway. There's just Gastrodon. Hello. Oh, oh. Oh, it did attack me. I thought it was gonna touch me. Oh my God. This battle arena is beautiful. Oh, this is really beautiful. Oh, nope. Don't chase me, Gastrodon. Can I fish in here? It seems I can not fish in here. But I bet I can surf. Whoa. There are so many hideaways. I thought there were just
going to be like, six. I found something. Oh, it's one of those orbs. I use that for something,
I just don't remember what. Ey, I got all four of
them on my first try. Ah-ha, ah-ha. Okay. Well this isn't going very well. I haven't found a single thing. Oh-ho. Oh, I collapsed the wall. It's fine. You can buy TMs in the Underground. Okay. That makes sense. I'm, what is this? Whoa. That sparkled so nicely. What did I get? Oh, a Gorgeous Stone Box. "The stone box started to shine." (gasps) Girafarig. Cool. How do I get, that's the statue, right? You put it in your base and
it makes something show up? How do I get that? All right, another hideaway. What do we got? Wait, it's another Fountain Spring Cave? Oh, there's different
Pokémon this time though. Buizel's here when it
wasn't here last time. Buizel, (indistinct) okay, they're still Gastrodon. Okay. So clearly you end up with
a lot of the same things. Running so far throughout this region to see all the different hideaways. Different hideaways. Am I really gonna go through every single one of these
hideaways on this one trip? Absolutely I am. Okay, this is the same thing. Except there's a Murkrow. I'm gonna catch you. I haven't seen you anywhere else. I just remembered that in,
Murkrow's a terrible catch rate. Okay, whew. Oh, okay. Didn't want to be sitting
here forever with that. I'm not gonna use a Honchkrow. Gliscor's my flying type,
I'm sticking with Gliscor. A Rocky Cave. Oh, a new one. We've got a desert and
some really tiny Onyxes. Skorupi. Or Skorupi, I want you. Woo. I love Quick Balls. Oh, it's got a jolly nature. That's pretty cool. I think it's so strange
that Skorupi is like, sometimes classified as a
desert dwelling Pokémon, as evidenced by its presence
in this particular cave. But then other times, it's classified as a marshland Pokémon. Like, can't you find
it in the Great Marsh? Those are like, opposite biomes. So far, I've seen Geodude and Skorupi. An item. Shock Wave, interesting. Is that a Bastiodon statue? That's really cool. Oh, hello. Net Ball's coming in handy. Let's go. I'm naming it Sandy. It's a very basic name, but it's a nice nod to
its initial appearance in the desert. I feel like that's, I gotta put my statue somewhere, but I don't know how to do that. Oh. Oh. Gligar. Just get in the Poké Ball. Just, just the Quick Ball. Just get in the Quick Ball. Three. Yes. You shall be known as Darkwing. And it's got the worst possible nature. Literally. Could not be worse. That is devastating. I have to find another Gligar. Stop it, Geodude, I'm not in the mood. Whoa. Volcano. Skorupi, what are you doing here? You will burn. A Houndoom? This game is nailing the battlefields. These look awesome. Every single one has looked awesome. Vastly superior to "Sword" and "Shield's I got it. Let's go. Sandsear Cave? This is interesting. It's a mix. Only Onyxes and Skorupis. You guys are everywhere. Whoa. Dazzling, Gastly. Lots of Gastlys. Expecting more fairy types
in the Dazzling Cave. As opposed to just Gastlys. Gligar, are you gonna come back to me? And you gonna be good this time? Just Onyxes, Geodudes and Skorupis. No other Gligar, man. Did I really get that
lucky, yet that unlucky finding the one Pokémon I most want to use in this play through? And it has the worst nature? Who are you? A Houndoom in the spacious one. Huh. Grassland - Roselia. That's what I was talking about. I can avoid Budew. Ah-ha. Well, I'm naming it Hemlock in case I do decide to use it. Hemlock is a poisonous plant, and it also sounds cool as a name. Swampy Cave. Ooh, it's so moist. It really is, like, look at my feet splooshin' on the ground. A Ralts, it's the first
time I've seen one of you. Okay, I caught the Ralts. So I could use a Gardevoir. I have been down here for almost an hour and I still have what, six or seven hideaways
that I haven't found yet? All right, looks like I only have four more to inspect in this segment. Riverbank Cave. Ah, it's a mix of the, Croagunk. Hello. Hello, goodbye. Ooh, there's one more big spicy one. All right, another grassland. Well, I have now officially unquestion-marked all of the hideaways in this initial segment. Which means I'm now running
all the way back over to the right side and
hanging out in the desert until I get my fricking
Gligar that doesn't suck. One eternity later. Oh yes, finally. I've been here for a while, but
I finally found another one. Three. Yes, okay. Please, please, please. You don't have to have the best nature. You don't have to have an
adamant nature or whatever. Just don't have the worst nature. You've got to be kidding me. It's literally another modest Gligar. That is two in a row. What is happening? What did I do to deserve this? All I want is a nature that doesn't lower physical attack and now I'm stuck running through this
godforsaken desert again. I looked it up a little bit and Gligar's one of the rare spawns. So, there's only ever one each time. If I see a Rhyhorn, I immediately know the Gligar's not here. Onyx. (groans) But then sometimes, there's
just not one at all. I would say that's at least half the time. There's neither a Rhyhorn, nor a - Gligar. Okay, that was fast this time. Not attack lowering, okay? Not attack lowering. And also, if you could
get in the Quick Ball, that would save me a lot of time. Thank you. You know what, I'm just kind of, I'm gonna call you Stealth, because I love Gliscor 'cause
it gives me the vibe of a, you know, Batman-type stealth hero. Nature? Brave, which boosts attack, lowers speed. I will take it. Sand Veil isn't the best ability. I would have preferred Hyper Cutter, but like, with how much work it takes to get just one of these, I'll live. All right. Let's get out of here. (laughing)
