I didn't know how much I disagreed with him until I saw him a few times on this sub. First off, he won't let her fucking speak. Second, how much water does livestock fucking drink? He's just arguing because he wants to eat meat.

Well if you advocate for full blown veganism Piers Hemorrhoids’ start acting up again, so I’m not sure what he really wants.

Also, if you’re arguing from an environmental perspective, reductionism is perfectly consistent, and he knows this, but he’s just dishonest.

How the fuck is she a hypocrite? She isn't saying "ban" meat, that would make her a hypocrite. She is saying she wants to introduce incentives to REDUCE the amount of meat people eat. Piers is such a stupid fucking moron.

I like to live healthy and I tell folk to work out and eat well all the time. But I also eat fucking pizza every once in a while. You don't have to be 100% pure in your beliefs to still validly hold those beliefs.

Woman comes on show: I want to tax Piers but exempt myself.

Piers: defends himself against the unfairness

Reddit: Piers is the cringey one!

you want to tax meat-eaters but not vegans and vegetarians so what are you so I'm a flexitarian so I very rarely meet but you know I had turkey with my Christmas dinner I think it's about how we reduce our meat consumption because the UN has made it clear that we have 12 years to tackle the worst effects of climate change take those positive steps this is a window of opportunity and we must tell you it yourself very very occasion you're immigrant and it's such an occasional thing that I only murder it wrong every other week you know it's not like that but your murder I mean it's what we need to be doing is moving people towards plant-based fat diets why don't you mean if you want to tiny meat meat eaters are so appalling like a human beings why don't you actually lead them practice what you preach and become a non mediator you're in a massive Turkey for Christmas I didn't but anyway I had I had a few slices but this is not the point you know this isn't the point did you write you implied I was lying you said you didn't say you had Turkey because I didn't have a massive I had this is not the point because what we need to be doing is moving towards less meat I think that we need to be I'm not only babies I want to tax what I'm saying that people who doggies on Turkey I mean I'm here to talk about a meat tax to not talk about my own diet and I think it's really a teacher's even though you yourself eat meat I mean that makes me less of a hypocrite right do you know where the almonds come from where almond milk comes from so I think this is a really valid point about how we think of our food system as a hot as a whole because at the moment we do have so many issues in terms of water intensive and carbon intentions you know what most of your arms come from I mean I on this occasion I don't option but the biggest option for me even the biggest produce now you came here for you ain't let me finish you're a vegetarian hear me right we're all flexitarians my point because I think that's my point which is you don't know where your almonds get made your beloved almonds most of you come from California each nut requires a gallon of water to produce 30 1 billion bees are transported to California almond farms yearly to pollinate the crops do you care about the lives of these bees so this is the point right as someone who's an environmentalist and wants to do the best thing for the environment and mitigate against the against the worst effects of the environmental option to be the easiest option the cheapest option is going to take government government policy to make it the easiest option because when you've got all of these things out there whether it's cheap meats whether it's almonds that are from California it's when it's not the the best option then it's then policy needs to address our I I do in Chile intensive avocado farming is that to severe water shortages Cady glasses excellent article on vegetarians and vegans yesterday balanced pace but avocado farming has got so intense to sate the lust of avocados for vegans and vegetarians severe water shortages now in Chile landscapes part human ttle damage huge impact on local societies demand has turned in Mexico for avocados into drug cartels targeting people right violently extorting protection money from farmers quinoa also beloved to vegans the price has written so much in Peru and Bolivia locals can't afford to eat the very grain that are sustained them for generations instead turning to cheap junk food but of course has a terrible effects and that on their health them only two people dying meanwhile minimum wage workers India suffer vicious burns extracting cashew nuts from their caustic hard shells here's my general point there is so much hypocrisy damage to environment and society for the meat eaters that you want to tax when actually vegans and vegetarians have no idea about the damage that is being caused to the environment and societies from their own crazy we have the question why well you have to question why this is and actually if you looked at what Caroline said she actually proposed a much broader range of policies which were challenging localism which was making sure that we were having a conversation about how our whole agriculture works because here in the UK only 57 percent of our vegetables are grown here 16 percent of our fruit and we're not promoting localism we're not promoting local farmers Phil Charan meat-eaters would that affect local farmers I think it would ever i think it's fundamentally wrong to apply attacks to a food product which is inherently sustainable and healthy for people so much of our meat do we grow that we consume in the UK do we grow in the UK for sheep production we would be a net in net balance we export around about 40 percent of our sheep meat production and we import around about the same volume so we're around in balance in terms of meat production but the effect of applying a meat tax would most likely out costs threat supply chain it would put pressure on farmers it would add costs on the on the shelf and it would probably end up with people seeking out cheaper cheaper meat and lower lowest standard musi I think concerns about the way that meat is produced in this country which should be definitely explored and where they go too far they should be exposed and so on but the Lord seems to me there's a complete blindness from the vegan the radical vegan movement at the moment about the damage to a lot of other living creatures for example when when you eat bread right we Brett yeah yeah are you aware that in the in the production of bread right wheat crops literally billions of little insects right are slaughtered yep Amelia's not vegan but you only must detect meat-eaters right and my point to you I feel like Pierce's has got his knickers on it in a twist over a small sausage to the farming communities of his country this is a hugely important thing you want to put a tax on meat eaters you have identified meat as the Predators bread eaters actually caused the deaths of zillions of insects why are your life of an insect to you as a party what's really less important than the life of safety because insects don't create the methane that the cows do I mean about how we use less pesticides which is is part of that problem that you're talking about and so the agriculture bill is going through Parliament this is the big vision stuff that needs to be happening if talking about how we make sure that we have farmers livelihoods at the heart of our policy how we make sure that we're about to kill them let me finish the future of the environment at the heart of our policy because farmers are on the front line they're the custodians of our environment are on the front line of the worst effects of climate change and dairy if you use almond milk that's going to affect our dairy farmers and meat eaters and that's gonna show you meat bombs and that I'm speaking of someone it doesn't eat meat you know you don't have though their interests at the heart of environmentalist so a lot of the science he's actually blind to the the positive impact there a lot of our livestock production an issue Kay has on the environment and then in the case of sheep you know it operates completely in harmony with a beautiful green landscape with Patrick's of green fields helping to manage career about seventy percent of our land virtuous because I am right where billions of bees get slaughtered right I only bread which actually involves also the slaughter of billions of insects right etc etc quinoa avocados all these have huge at the moment the way is done and the way they are brought to this country is environmentally ruinous so the idea that we have to target purely the farming industry and the meat industry and meat eaters like me because we're the villains here I think is utter hypocrisy anyways I feel like you might you're becoming more of a more of a very environmentalist by the moments and maybe you'll be also care about exposing hypocrisy from political parties also Claire I see Green Party targeting the meat industry some of the highest environmental animal welfare standards in the world as well we would not want to drive people away from choosing the media women mainly I know you love your meat so that there's more meet there god help yourself take something on the way up yeah you have a big big slab of Turkey for Christmas is your little new year tree one of the big juicy steaks yeah and then pretend pretend you're a flexitarian but actually what that means is you're like the rest of us meat eaters you eat meat no effects of tearing is somebody who eats meat at every meeting that I know in the entire world so very decent area you are a gender-fluid of meetings right you want to be cold with the cool kids but actually flexitarian is a meat-eater you
