hi guys I'm welcome in this video I wanted to quickly show you a method I used to remove the harsh shadows in the background you see in this image a friend of mine sent me this image and asked me if I could remove those shadows the method I'm going to show you is what I've personally found to be easy and quick there are other methods out there that you could use as well the final outcome is to look like this see how I've removed the shadows so let's go back to the original images original image and let's get started firstly I want to bring up the layers panel so I'm going to go to windows layers this is the layers panel and what I'm going to do is now is add a new layer above the background layer like that then I'm going to click back on the background layer go to my toolbar and choose the clone stamp tool and then what I'm going to do is I'm going to sample some of the background image and then I'm going to click back on the new layer and then I'm going to clone out that shadow now as you can see I've actually cloned out some of the subject or the person but that's fine we'll fix it up later so now we're going to go on to the right hand side click back onto the background image resample and then click back on in the new layer and then clone out the shadow now like I said it's okay if you're cloning out some of the the model as well I need to redo that again sorry go back here you do this again like I said we will fix that up later okay so that's that's now taken out the shadow now obviously we've gone over the person or the subject so we need to reveal get that detail back of the subject so what we're going to do is you're going to go to the top layer your DS the opacity so I can see the background image and I'm going to add a layer mask to that layer top layer go back to my toolbar choose brush make sure that my foreground is black and zoom in a bit now I find the brush to be too big so I'm going to bring down the brush and bring and bring up the harm softness a bit more you know what I'm going to do is I'm going to paint over the subject revealing the subject I'm going to get as close as possible to the edge without revealing the shadow again yeah in that bit of reveal the shadow be too much so what I do is I change the foreground to white and paint over the background so I can hide that shadow again okay zoom out now bring up the opacity and there we go the shadow on that left hand side is gone so now we go to the right hand side again root bring down the opacity I can see the background image adjust the brush size accordingly making sure the foreground is black and then start painting over the subject just make sure open it down a bit more the size I could fit over the parts you want to reveal this is I'm just doing a quick run into this quickly obviously when you when you do yours just make sure you take your time get as close as possible to the edge of your subject or the person in the image so you don't reveal that background shadow again so I don't think I will be able to be too much over here so I'll just cover this up a little bit there go back here a little bit black paint over revealing the the model almost there like I said this is just a quick a quick run-through for this video the purpose of this video when you come to do yours just take your time zooming as much as you need to I'm just gonna hide a little bit of this here okay almost done here we go zoom out then bring back the opacity 20% and there we go we've removed the shadow but like I said these Devils are very quick method of a way of doing it obviously when you do yours take your time and try and be trying to get as much detail as you can out of out of out of your subject well don't forget to comment below and tell us your methods of removing shadows in the background thank you for watching
