presumed that we were talking about just physical ailments but there are a whole lot of people who are wrestling through psychological trauma we've discovered that there are ten different areas of abuse from physical emotional we found out at nine-thirty financial a sexual verbal there's so many levels of abuse and it is our intention that before the month is over that God is gonna free you from every vestige and every scar and every stain of mental abuse that you have endured how many of you need that level of healing in your life we're doing something today learn come on quickly please we're doing something today that I wanted you to be a part of that I am on tip-toe anticipation about I'm very excited and I think that you ought to take every opportunity that is afforded and provided to you would you give God some praise for Lauren from the time organization good morning so time organization has provided mental health and behavioral health substance abuse services in the community for 18 years now and we're excited to be partnering with empowerment simple so you make bring awareness to mental health a lot of us want to wait and so something happens to address what we need but the time is right now if you've been praying for access your access is here because we have an office here and empowerment simple for all going therapy services for someone you know for you for your children for your coworker whoever they need it and this morning we have a table set up a front to do many consults so if you want to come and sign up for services - just find out what we blessing to women who are in transitional houses those who are in domestic violence shelters and for those who are just returning from being institutionalized because we want them to know as we want you to know in spite of what you've been through you're still a lady amen how many of you understand your circumstance does not define you it does not limit you to who it is that you are what it is that you're supposed to be and so we're asking you over the next couple of Sunday's every Sunday in May that you would give purses and then you'll fill them with toiletries ladies brought them at the to earlier services and they brought a manicure sets and shampoo and perfume and female products and toothpastes and all kinds of things whatever can fit in that purse they've been able to do that just to be a blessing it is my prayer that there are those of you who are in this service who made up in your mind pastor I want to be a blessing to somebody else because but for the grace of God I could be in the same I could be in the same situation how many of you are glad you survived some stuff y'all ain't - come on I said how many you are glad you survived you survived some stuff I want us Mill's he was on probation for a decade attributable to a gun and drug incident that happened in 2007 support came from across the entertainment industry activists began to mobilize and pundants became embroiled in public debates his judge a sister named Janis Brinkley made it painstakingly obvious that she had a personal vendetta by sentencing him for doing wheelies on a dirt bike Everest everything prophesied in the book the new Jim Crow was coming to light all the nuances of the impropriety needed to be evaluated terms of the sentencing in terms of profiling and in terms of the lack of judgment by people who claim to be judges but today ladies and gentlemen there is a different perspective to the meek mills case that I want to offer for your critical thought that have not heard entertained in social media discussed in mainstream press or even written about in op eds and it is this I want to examine what was meek Millz maneframe after being assigned to solitary confinement write that down please i want you to google search it when you get on the USA Today this week young Americans are the loneliest after issuing surveys to 20,000 they were surprised to see Millennials yell man I can't believe it I get it to give it to you Millennials Bishop Ryan a lonelier then senior citizens did y'all hear what I just said Millennials alum layer than seniors what should be noted is that the study was conducted by a university not conducted by University but the study was conducted by Sigma CI GNA which is friends is given below your mind not from Harvard not from Johns Hopkins this study was done by an insurance agency it's their concern I'm giving blow your mind is there concern that loneliness does not just make you sad it makes you sick loneliness has the same effect I need you to please write this down loneliness has the same effect on mortality as smoking 15 cigarettes a day y'all gotta write that down loneliness has the same effect on your mortality as if you were smoking 15 cigarettes a day making it more detrimental what's this more people are dying of loneliness then obesity you can't keep having dates with Doritos can't keep socializing with soda and spending the night with a chicken box which shocking is that youth on social media here this youth on social media have the exact same rate of loneliness as seniors not on social media the reason being is that the connections on social media are not authentic people boast of having five hundred friends of five hundred followers but you can't call none of them when you in trouble and all this time you expend an energy trying to get your followers up and you all know the pain of being a leader the issue is so critical that the former CERN Surgeon General Vivek Murthy said that citizens between 16 and 24 I want you to hear with the Surgeon General said about you says citizens between the ages of 16 and 24 if you are not employed and you are not in school you are clinically socially disconnected and you don't even understand that your connection is a spiritual mandate it says watch what the Bible says you ain't gonna believe what it says you got to read it sometimes about was good it got good stuff in it you gotta read it sometime the Bible says if two or three are texting in my name is that what it says if two or three are sliding your deal there's any what the Bible says the Bible says if two or three areas are touching and agreeing don't be quick to dismiss as if you've never had lunch with loneliness 47% of the people who are in this room 47% of people in this room at the old people and say you don't understand but it's gonna blow your mind that the whole issue of loneliness didn't start because of technology or social media or television or integration loneliness you ain't gonna believe it started in Genesis in Genesis 2 we first encounter the crisis of loneliness when we stumble watch this into the second chapter we see the sovereign Lord say I want you to hear what God says this ain't pastor talking this is what God says God says this watch what he say he said it's not good for man to be alone then he backs it over what's this I have got to make somebody suitable that's the point that I think you miss it I don't just need anybody yeah y'all y'all not sayin nothin to me because you've encountered a whole lot of people who were available who can help me take Dominion help me take authority who will help me subdue the earth if I could just come in the right divine partnership and relationship I won't feel burned out hallelujah because when it gets heavy I got somebody competent who can take the load and won't act like it's a inconvenience because it's their gift to be able to bless me their field may not even be my field their line of degree may not match with my degree but you leavin understand you can help me just by not being a burden justice but not always having something negative to say and speaking a word I have formation garden of guests enemy he has 12 disciples but he takes three he goes and prays for an hour and comes back in the three who he thought was in his inner circle asleep and Jesus gets the attitude he just added to watch this cuz I don't even ask you to pray with me I just needed you to have my back god I can't hear nobody you know how many attacks are on my life you don't feel like crying just look out for me so that when the enemy is coming I know that somebody for me that's what I require for you I just want somebody who can keep up with me cuz I waste too much energy keep going back to check on you god I can't hear nobody I keep trying to make progress and you still in the same position and think you resent me for moving forward y'all ain't saying nothing to me I telling you to run past me cuz we ain't in competition but if we could ever learn the run together we'll be able to take authority in the earth realm o magnify here is the Lord with me let us exalt his name together meant to invest this many years of your life with somebody who's got no future ambition if you'll never challenge them they'll just keep going in this same route and never look for the upgrade I break loneliness pray that God will send somebody who will complete you and not compete with you I break the spirit of loneliness I don't want God to send you your other half I want him to send somebody whose whole coz if both of y'all are broken it'll never work I speak to every person who's in this room who's been fighting through loneliness and loneliness has got you addicted to internet pornography loneliness got you dating down loneliness has made you a serial masturbator loneliness has made you inflict yourself away from other people yeah I said it I'm talking to you loneliness makes you buy stuff you don't need what money you don't have to impress people you don't even like loneliness will make you hate yourself and doubt yourself and question yourself William Shakespeare the runner runaway theologian said to thine own self be true must be companionship of every lifted hand I speak authentic and legitimate relationships with people that you can be transparent with people you can be honest with people watch this that you won't feel comfortable lying to I predict I will surround you with people in whom you don't have to perform or pretend I pray that God will surround you with people who you will allow the space to check you when you're out of order I pray dear Lord that God will surround you with confidants who won't use your weakness against you won't remind you of your failures and your down coming I pray that God will surround you with people that will push you for more I pray that God will give you friends who will not impress but see you for who you really are and love you in a way I pray that God will put people in your life who won't be secretly jealous and hope that you mess up and miss your moment I pray that God will surround you with friends who got enough faith in them to pray for you when you don't feel like praying for yourself and those of you who are in this room and your faithful mirrors and Eckles the faith of your pastor would you do me a favor please give me a favor please do me just one favor please I want you to move from where you are I want you to embrace three people and I want you to tell them your two you nobody wants to pour back into you I need you to come I want you to give me your hand but more than anything I want you to give God your heart I know the data says that this is a lonely generation but you are not gonna die by yourself God doesn't want to see that for you he's got too much stuff that he wants to download into your life please help me this is my third time today you don't feel bad for me I am eating yeah you had breakfast you stopped at Dunkin Donuts come on come on have some compassion can you do some of the work for me all I need is some help mate come on I've been naming stuff all day I'm tired of being out in this field come on help me please everybody in the room would you move from where you are would you go talk to two people find out if they're safe find out if stopped me in downtown Baltimore and he asked me in the ministry we need in church he asked me in a ministry pastor how do I convert from being a Muslim said my whole family follows Islam I've been in in my whole life but I feel like I'm supposed to be with Jesus God I can't hear nobody I need somebody but you open up your mouth and give God glory stretch the right hand to faith repeat after me you're in the right place at the right time John in the right church serving the only God and I know that's right if you're not right about it would you give God a hey Klepper praise you may be seated months until God had to get in his heart and say you are not gonna be in this by yourself but there's room at the cross I want you to very quickly please very quickly I want you to do me a favor all of you all of you who know that God is a redeemer that he's a changer transformer how much did you do this for me our ambassadors I want you to partner with us very quickly but I need you to partner Church and because we're tied in church we give 10% of our income back to God because we're mindful of what he saved us from we can never forget what he delivered us from there's no way we gonna have a memory lapse about what he rescued us from I'm gonna challenge my dear friends who are watching online you're not tithing yet you haven't reached that level of faith you want to make sure watch this that this is God's plan and not the pastor scheme God's plan is not the pastor scheme I'm not trying to get anything from y'all trying to get something to you if you don't understand the principle of tithing I need you to read Malachi chapter 3 it's the only place in the Bible God gives us permission for us to test him how literally he said try me and see whatever it is that you give to me I'm out do you and giving it back since when it comes back to you won't be the same way you got it it's gonna be pressed down shaken together and running over how much you get a seed that's in your hand please I've asked all of our visitors on today here's what I've asked of them I ask all of our new friends all of our social media family I've asked all of them to come in the company with us it's the fifth month of the year five is the number favored five is the number of grace I'm gonna challenge you to give a seat a fifty-five those of you on Facebook live those of you on Ustream those are you on livestream those are you on empowerment temple org those are you on periscope I want you to get a seed of fifty five in your hand I am believing no day this month will I be absent a favor no day this month will I be absent of His grace once it is that you have that seed in your hand even if you're giving my debit card you're writing a check you're writing it out to empowerment temple as soon as you have it would you please stand to your feet please would you stand to your feet lift up that gift above your head lift up that gift above your head repeat after me Lord thank you for what you did last year for what you did last month for what you did last week but this seed in my hand is an expectation for what you haven't done yet in Jesus name Amen world we deserve His grace no way in the world we deserve as mercy his love his compassion we're mindful that while we were yet sinners he died for us senior presiding bishop of the AME churches with us I'm gonna ask that he would lead us through our prayer of general confession how grateful I am to have my father with us on today I want us to be mindful hear me that this is not intermission this is the similar point of our conviction our faith our theology is all of it will be for naught if it were not for the cross Bishop Brian would you repeat after me in prayer Oh perfect Savior we come this morning confessing our imperfection too many times we have missed companionship too many times we've lost friends because we failed to be a friend too many times we let you down but today we say plans renew and restore in Jesus name Amen they were all together in that room and he knew exactly who they were he knew that they sold him out he knew that they had denied they knew him he knew that they doubted him but his love for them was greater than their weakness and he stood in their presence and took bread and broke it and said I'm going to allow them to break my body not because of my weakness but because of yours the body of the Lord Jesus Christ broken for my sin I take it I remember what he's done for me I eat it and I'm thankful what can wash away my sins nothing but and somebody shout the blood what can make me whole again nothing but the blood blood of the Lord Jesus Christ shed for me shed for me because I've sinned by thought by word and by deal shed for me because I've been weak when I should have been strong shed for me to make me a brand new creation I drink it and I reminded that in Christ Jesus I've been made anew and for this we say thank you the disciple said master what ought we do when we go through moments and bouts of loneliness I have nobody there to affirm order support us we feel like we're getting ready to be sucked in you said in those critical hours I want you to pray the Lord's Prayer can we pray that together please our Father amen would you do me a favor please be seated thank you so very much I'm grateful for you if you were blessed by worship on the day would make sure your present and accounted for our ladies are going on a retreat at the end of May with the ladies of Ebenezer AME Church Institute please go and register on today I also want to remind you that our partners from the time organization are here I want you to please get all of their information we've got people that will be able to help you they're setting up an office in our church so that you can get counseling or therapy for your children for your marriage or even for yourself or the whole fam some of y'all need the whole family to come here amen but Institute will please take full advantage of it it is not our intention to embarrass you but to empower you we want to take away the whole notion that mental health is temple within the black community because we got to start talking about it and dealing with it how many of you all know it's a real issue so please go by the time organization table are they are now our friends and we are working with them in partnership we
