Part 6. More treasures discovered and... Hans finds the wig room! Musicians House. HD 1080p

hi i'm alex archbull and i've been buying and selling antiques since i was 9 years old from basements to scrap yards i'll look just about anywhere i can to find lost antiques and collectibles and sometimes i'll go big and buy everything with my wife and kids we run an antique shop in edmonton alberta canada filled with some of the most unique items we can find i never know what's going to happen or who i'm going to meet this is our life this is our adventure and this is curiosity home honey it's a snowy kind of day today headed back to the house no surprise there otherwise i wouldn't be doing this video i've been at it hard every single day this past week we've had the house uh a little under a week and boy i tell ya i'm starting to feel it you know you don't see me lifting and moving and carrying boxes and stuff like that because i'm also the cameraman so it's yeah i'm i'm i'm hurting a little bit this week but i'm trying really hard to get this stuff done many of you said eight weeks that's no time at all you won't be able to get this place done more like eight months well in just one week we will have arranged or have cleared over 50 of the contents of this house which means if i went at it another solid week or two i'll probably be done um today my goal is to continue to look for actual buried treasure to look for actual hidden cash and jewelry and and find some collectibles along the way and sort those when we get into the later videos you're going to see me doing more of the antique sort of i wouldn't say appraisals but i'm going to be looking for things that i'll be running through auction and getting that ready but for now it's all about cleanup and all about actually finding hidden treasure so follow along today i mean heck i don't know what we're gonna find on this episode last time we found uh bars of silver um we found coins wads of cash hidden like under carpets and in drawers and uh we haven't even gotten through all the rooms in this place yet so odds are there's going to be some more treasures today and it's kind of exciting um to not know what you're going to find i am uh here pull up find some goodies and hopefully keep you all entertained follow along i see some movement at the front door it's a hans zanzanovia welcome back my good friend hey guys i was gonna sing to yous but well now now you're gonna have to sing to me uh it's another day at the house um did you guys get my message about making sure you didn't park on the behind the dumpster it's getting picked up again pretty soon yeah you'll probably want it moved so let's move it to the side over the other side beside out since you're boring uh my mother-in-law's truck you might not want to leave it there in case they take it with them oh yeah truck we'll put that in the bin too and then you'll have some space you don't want to do explaining might you don't want to mess with my mother-in-law that could be big trouble oh yeah no i know marley we all know her quite well she's all calm until you put her truck in a dumpster and then things turn haywire um before they come pick up the dumpster we'll try and get a bunch of loads done in that one because i think it could still fit yeah so i think you're okay to leave the truck for now i think i don't think they'll be here for an hour or two so we'll we'll start off by doing a bunch of garbage runs are you guys okay to work back upstairs again oh yeah whatever you need my friend okay all right well i guess we'll get cracking while you guys work upstairs i am gonna work back in this room i cleared almost all the way back to the organ and uh i am gonna be putting the sheet music up through auction for all those people watching at home that were saying i want some sheet music don't worry there's gonna be lots of sheet music going up through auction um i found not one but two vintage school desks in here but the problem is i can't really move my furniture out to my clean space of the living room because mark has all his stuff there and he's not coming until tonight so all i can do really is try and get garbage out of this room and get stuff to charity to donation and the rest of this well it'll have to probably wait until that living room gets cleared out a little bit more i'd say like 75 of the time that i'm not filming i am pretty much just picking up garbage putting in a bag picking up garbage put in a bag it's not the most exciting thing in the world but it is kind of exciting to find a floor you know this carpet uh will probably come out as well because it's pretty nasty and why throw the carpet out some of you might ask why bother throwing the carpet out well um yes it does tickle up a little bit of room in the dumpster but not much but it's really nasty and i want to leave this guy a really clean house so we're doing what we can to clean up and and uh commit to that plus uh for our health it's not that great right now so i'm gonna continue cleaning little bits of trash up off the floor and uh hopefully find some more treasure this is what i do i i dig around picking up garbage and then you randomly you know under a shoe or something find like you know a silver bar it's just it's crazy but fun at the same time hey hans it looks like you've been uh oh you're checking for money hidden inside oh yeah we do all that when we get into the books you got the collection plate going so well yeah did you put the this is for the poor you bought some yeah moth flakes it was like oh what's mothballs well these sort of things are supposed to make it so they don't uh moths don't eat your clothing i found a phone buried [Applause] and if it's still working no it's not not plugged in oh ah it's not gonna work if it's not plugged in but that's a good sellable phone rotary telephones so yeah definitely keep your eye out in this room because there's bound to be all sorts of cool stuff right around here i found a big thing of silver and i i mean there's comic books [Applause] you know what's up oh look i found two bucks oh i found another dollar hey there it is right there oh good here i'll put that in the collection oh thank you no you gotta go if you gotta carry your little bucket out there you gotta at least do some kind of song and dance for us and then i'll throw it all toss a quarter so nobody did a jig you're just asking for money at least she earns it wait don't don't tell my wife that i paid denobi to dance [Laughter] i don't get myself in trouble that's too funny oh feels like there's something here oh that should be fun to run [Music] oh that's gross so at least it's not used but that makes me wonder what i'm kneeling on in here ah good thing i decided to wear some gloves today april 1st 1989 tiffany and friends probably performing at the shopping mall tour of the 80s she was a big canadian star for a while okay i'm gonna let these guys continue working in this bedroom i'm filling up the bucket full of money well i head downstairs and go where i'm supposed to go you guys are doing great work up here though don't fall no we don't need no action i know here i almost tripped coming out of the room after you've cleaned it i can crawl around in here no problem but okay down i go i actually found a place to sit down and if i'm not mistaken yeah that's a nice antique piano stool with the claw feet right by this organ here little trophies rules of golf 1968 carrie grant oh it's a bunch of uh celebrity sort of star cards from over the ages it's kind of neat put that on the piano for now giant santa pez pez is fairly collectible especially early pez that one's not very old but if you find pez that don't have see how it's got little feet if you find a pez from the 60s or 50s and it has no feet on it it's just nubby right there it's a little bit older they didn't stand very well so they altered them later and put the feed on some pez dispensers can be worth thousands of dollars um there's a pez space gun i can't remember what color it is but there's a certain color of pez base going that's worth a fortune oh i actually found one not that in an episode not that long ago mine wasn't the real expensive one but we still did okay on it sort of a funny little weighted cardboard invention i feel like the gentleman that lived here might have been a engineer or something if you're a drafter judging by the amount of drafting tools i don't know what this is supposed to be maybe uh it looks like a little guillotine shoppy choppy but uh he definitely had something going on there sometimes little trophies like this can be cool if i look at this one you can see it's from the john stetson company so stetson hats for annual competition edmonton menswear golf tournament so it's a stetson trophy for a golf tournament that will be collectible it's in terrible condition but somebody would probably want that uh just you know because there are collectors of stetson cowboy hats so i will keep it over there and you go alex you're crazy for keeping a broken trophy but that's the sort of thing that sells like another pez stanley cup pez making my way slowly through this pile of stuff and we're finding lots of things that we can give to charity i mean lots of brand new packages of paper um you know i'm hoping to get this other sewing machine out of the way here before too long so that we can uh get this room opened up a bit more it's almost christmas while i'm filming this and you remember the movie christmas story when ralphie's dad gets a leg lamp in the mail it's fragili it's a prize well i found a leg lamp on my own not quite as alluring don't think melissa would want me to bring either one of them home but boy it's not something you see too often [Music] this dumpster is pretty well full up i can't go too much more than that there should be a fresh one coming soon sadly every time i dump this it's 500 bucks down the drain so i'm gonna have to recover a lot more than that to make ends meet with this project but if i keep finding silver and stuff in the house that'll help go a long way sadly every time i take a load to the dump that's 500 bucks down the drain plus i have wages for hans and zenovia and the helpers who have been clearing this place out so i'm gonna have to find a lot more silver and a lot more treasure to make this worthwhile um right now we've recovered our money we're probably up about a thousand bucks even with expenses but to make this make sense for me i gotta do a lot better than that i'm gonna check on hans and zenovia see how things are going hey what you talking about here this is so different that's a good look wow i think we're gonna have to tell the neighbors that you moved into the area they're gonna think you're on the special list oh boy okay well hans is having fun and has now uh picked up you know probably a head full of lice and gnats good thing good thing uh you know you're a brave man you might have found this one oh you guys oh my god okay so this upstairs bedroom is just about cleared out about as far as we can go and that you think it's bad working with me look what i gotta work with oh my goodness so nobody's gonna have a heart attack sitting in the chair laughing so hard you know my grandma used to wear hats like or wear wigs like they were hats my great grandma back in the 60s that was really fashionable different wake for each thing yeah hans is having fun oh it's just a wonderful day too oh my goodness oh you guys you're going to make me laugh [Music] that's kind of something wrong alex that's the bob ross one right there that's one i don't think bob ross threw his afro on the ground after he was done painting him he's gonna go through every one of these oh so i'm thinking after this we'll probably focus on goodwill stuff yeah i think i'm beautiful kind of sizing up the basement before the guys get here they've done a fair bit of work yesterday i mean they've got one two three many racks out of the way actually this was all racks in here tons of vintage clothing and they've worked their way around the corner you can see there's a bit of a cabinet there for the most part everything is clothing um except for in the cabinets you can see there's lots of ornaments and things like that and every time i think i wonder if i made a mistake purchasing the contents of this place i find a little jar like this full of silver and it makes it all the better at the end of this whole adventure we'll do a final tally and we'll show exactly what we found throughout we'll put it all in a big pile maybe i'll show you before we auction it all off it's gonna be an impressive little showing i'm sure because we've been finding little chunks of silver and stuff all over the house throughout the last week and i'm sure there's gonna be some real treasures hidden in the basement here too i'm gonna go find some things for hans and zenovia to do because that dump bin still has not been picked up it's full to the brim it's overflowing almost but we do have some things that need to go to charity so i'll probably get them to do a couple runs for me to charity and uh hopefully by the time they get back that dump them will be picked up believe it or not there was a couch here match the other couches there it is there it's the smaller i guess it's the love seat version with its fantastic plaid cushions we're going to give that to charity apparently they sold the other ones the first day so i'm sure they'll take this one as well there's a bunch of pictures that are kind of wrapped up back here i'm curious to see what's inside and a uh hairdressing diploma from 1936 which is pretty cool i'm gonna see what else is in this pile and hopefully find a few little goodies along the way and probably a lot of trash too and what's inside the old plastic why vintage original oil paintings on board they don't see where the other side right down there 1936 oh some antique art and i wonder if that's what's in this one too we'll open it up and find out more original art this is a uh spanish bowl fighting scene and it's dated 1965 maybe it looks like pretty cool that's kind of coming back retro again with all the people doing their houses at mid-century needlework more paintings yeah this is all original art okay well we got a whole stack of original paintings those would be good uh let's see and luckily they're in good shape too because they were hidden behind this chair sadly no group of seven or anything like that but you know still some fun art i'm going to pack up the rest of this stuff out to the garbage and hopefully get this chair out not it's way soon it's always nice to find some original art that was a good score i'm gonna keep these somewhere safe for now uh hello hello hi oh hey it's josh hey that's funny that you're here i was just finding some original artwork from like the 30s oh really yeah and then in walks an artist who's not from the third he's an artist who's in his 30s we don't know is he 22 is he 47 we don't know it's a mystery of josh i came back and accidentally stole 225 from you the other day how'd you steal money from me it was in the bedroom remember when we were digging through getting into that oh yeah and we found it i put it in my pocket oh you can hang on to that i'm sure you know it it's not gonna it was gonna happen like oh man i would have made my money back if it wasn't for that 225 short well every time we've taken uh i was complaining and i shouldn't be complaining but every time i i empty that dumpster it's like 500 bucks oh yeah so we've we're going to see me the third time now so i'm in 1500 in the negative just on dump fees out of this place and we still have a whole basement full of likely garbage luckily most of what's in the basement is clothing so the clothing guy's gonna remove most of it well it looks like you've done a lot yeah well it looks like you haven't done anything well this room was empty yesterday right right up until yesterday yeah and uh but i can't even reach the lamps to go turn them off right now until the now tonight they're supposed to be coming to empty all this stuff out okay um but i did find some things i thought might suit you uh do you have a box or something did you bring anything to carry stuff dude i always forget to do the the practical thing the practical okay well work your way into the kitchen we'll see if we can find you a container or something for those of you that don't know uh josh what do you do with like utensils and things like that i make sculptures and stuff out of them usually welded sculptures a lot of bugs those seem to be pretty popular they just anything that has a cool shape sometimes turns into something else but put the we'll put the links in the description uh so people can find you but uh if you open up that top drawer right there there's a bunch of stuff there's only one thing that i need to keep somebody wrote me and they said i really want this ice cream scoop and i was like okay well actually i didn't respond back no they like the yellow handle even it's kind of cheap and plasticky but they like it so really yeah so all right uh but the rest of that stuff can all be yours yeah this is all good stuff like i can make dragonfly wings out of the knives right oh yeah so and then you know whatever so yeah anyway um we're gonna have to find you a bin to put all this stuff in fantastic and then these are all tools i found in the drawers like look at the crazy amount of tools oh yeah nice wow in the kitchen yeah and like right behind you in the kitchen drawer was full of tools okay and look at all the scissors you ever seen so many scissors it's like a crazy amount of scissors and magnifying glasses yeah well i mean there's a cool one in there the far side see that one that's like a i think for cutting ribbons okay see the blades on it right i think it would just basically make shreds or make ribbons but it'd be kind of a fun thing to you can get creative with it yeah so yeah there's a ton of scissors um yeah you gotta come see upstairs okay you gotta go upstairs and see what we've done up there josh is like oh it looks different but it looks like it's the same amount of stuff and we've taken uh several tons worth of garbage out already yeah well this looks like everything you actually walked here now that you see the floor yep oh wow i know normally a person wouldn't be impressed by this bathroom being as gross as it is but now they're like oh wow oh that room i'm still working on that i'm still good oh you got all the clothes out over there yeah the clothes are all out this is melissa wants to go through this room so i'm going to leave this for her okay it's hard to recognize this looks so different from when i was here hang on i'm gonna get you a bin for your loot i've been keeping these uh plastic bins just for the occasion that a jaw should come along unprepared i always do and i'm always like grabbing a little stuff and i just did the truck and then i'm like okay oh still avalanche is happening uh this room is almost done oh yeah oh this is the this is the yeah this is where the closet 25 was it was it was right here yeah we had we found more than 225 in this room oh i'll just leave it i saw yeah that was awesome well no don't leave it on the floor yeah that's where it was okay well yeah but honey's gonna come along go i thought i picked all this stuff up he's been making a change collection for me i don't steal oh well not on purpose anyway not on purpose well i appreciate that so this is what look there was a the bed is gone we donated the headboard in that was mid-century it's actually really cool there's a single bed that's going to charity i am going to try and auction off this mid-century dresser because it's in pretty good shape okay um there's a little drop leaf table that can get auctioned the phone some of these things cool yeah that's a cool phone the tv i don't know if i've got it in me to i might i might just leave that where it is because those things are really heavy and i don't want anybody getting hurt and how to move it this dresser probably go to charity that chair i can oh i'm into auction sorry the chair auction so i'm leaving all the big stuff that's going to auction last somebody did that with candle wax and thread that's kind of cool it was yeah it's like an art project yeah i thought it was kind of cool if it washed up it looked neat it almost looks like graffiti or like the bubble gum hallway it's almost like a jackson pollock painting just lots of intense sort of colors and yeah i remember doing an art project kind of like that in school i had to do something that was inspired by keith herring and i ended up doing something that did not look like keith henry stuff but anyway i still got a good mark because it turned out pretty awesome it's in my house somewhere uh yeah and the basement's getting well the basement's still a problem but it's getting more manageable for sure yeah for sure um okay let's head downstairs and load you up with some cutlery what have you been up to the last few days anyway uh well did you people know i've been doing a lot of stuff well you and i went to another hoarder house right i was gonna say that but i didn't know if you wanted to oh yeah no i'll put that video up it's unrelated to this house josh and i went to another hoarder house which ended up being kind of gross but i'll put the video on girls that's hilarious yeah as opposed to most hoarder houses which are really nice um well hey in the grand scheme of things if for a hoarder house this one is really nice actually you know what it's not it's not even really that dirty it's just dirty because they could never clean well it's not dirty because there's necessarily a lot of disgusting food and garbage all over the place well this room was actually kind of bad yeah that's true and there's mice in the basement so i mean it's not great but you it's this is a result of over shopping when they say shop till you drop that's what happened he was like okay yeah oh there's i was saving those for you too those are stainless steel oh perfect yeah i mean somebody would probably use those but you can turn them in art so be it absolutely so we're going to load you up with stuff so you can fill up your goody bag fantastic thank you you're right no problem okay pull it out that is an old looking box i think it's been there a while oh yeah i don't think that you thought that might be a what do you think that is i don't know i think what it is it's purple no look i think that moves the thing out of the way i think you're supposed to make that out of it peekaboo i'm a human tulip i think that's what you're supposed to do with that so they started and then they're probably like nah that's ridiculous i'm not gonna wear that but guarantee this box has been down here since the 60s yeah is there more boxes under there oh there's some wash boards no not washboard what do you call them like oh like a wash tub oh i see oh they're empty empty that one's empty anyway that means that was put there a long time ago the reason i say that is that they didn't fill it where they filled every other square into this place do i reach in empty it's empty careful there's been like lots of mice down there your hands are gonna get all dirty oh here's another one of those we'll do a future basement exploration video soon because i'm sure there's gonna be all sorts of other fun stuff hiding down here this will be a future episode i'm gonna leave the basement for now we'll do a future basement episode soon that's going to be the best room the tool room i know for me it'll be the best i'll call you when we get to it we got to clear all these clothes out of the way but when we get to that you will be the guy that we call excellent i was keeping something for josh a whole bunch of archie comics if you know josh from his channel uh you got just a few of these right yeah like how many is a few i i have all of them all i have all of the digest as far as i can tell because every time we get all the digest except for the new ones that repeat the stories yeah well i remember when i was a kid you get an archie comic and there was like 1960s stories being put out in the 80s still yeah over and over and over again yeah so i have i have those i recognize all of these covers i wonder how many kids back in the 80s were reading those and then getting their fashion tips from like i want some plaid bell bottoms i don't think i have this one actually how would you remember i dude like you have thousands of them well do you have a perfect memory no have you ever been to las vegas maybe you could count to las vegas but if you can remember what digest you have you should be counting cards like rain man well i really i remember yeah i have most of these so i guess i shouldn't say i have all of them i have well there we filled some gaps in the collection most of them i don't have the new ones though okay well there we got a few extra ones anyway you guys are just gearing up for fun well we need you to do uh another goodwill run um to take that chair before it gets snowed on but maybe zenobia but while hans runs and does that um there is some stuff down here that needs to be bagged up where is it now um let's see in this corner over here if i can get to it there's all sorts of bags of food like canned food which needs to go um these uh the wood stain this stuff needs to go i'm gonna have a quick look through here and pull out the sellable old bottles but for the most part like all these old cans of wood stain can go um if it has a colorful looking logo on it i can actually sell it so for me like this handy oil cleaner i can sell general general motors um fabric cleaner i can sell those are sellable items all the wreck stuff is gone the red stuff yeah that i don't have a buyer for that stuff so um i would focus on maybe the food stuff for now and then i'll come down and grab the rest of this out if you go around the corner to the left there's more food on the floor and bags down there all pretty well cans of food you can see the bags down at the end there yeah so if you guys are up for that next task hans it'd be back to goodwill with the chair zenovia bagging stuff up getting ready for your uh strong lumberjack of a man here to carry up to the dumpster when it comes are you guys down with that yeah all right you're done let's fill her up alrighty all i've been doing is picking garbage up off the floor for the last however many hours and my motivation is kind of getting down a little bit although i can see some chalet glass back there and some things that i can sell i'm not really finding too much for uh treasures to keep me motivated not even old bottles of alcohol but i did find some movies i think this is a rental they used to come i don't know if you guys remember or not maybe if you're old enough when you went to the rental store they'd have the actual cover on the shelf and then they give you this and i think this is somebody's rental copy from like maybe a video store or something uh yeah there's a barcode on it so that's gonna be some serious overdue finds on harry and the hendersons uh funny movie from back in the day but uh when you've got several days maybe that's why the uh that they went out of business they never returned their movies and they're like oh those light feets piled up on us and it was pricey too you got late fees this video would have cost you like hundreds of dollars uh i'm still trying to work my way through we've got some records i'm gonna get as much garbage out as i can out of the way before i start sorting through the stuff that i want to keep um the guys have showed up though uh josh is still here hanging out but the clothing guy has come and he's starting to uh take stuff in the world's smallest pickup it's gonna be quite a few trips uh hopefully he gets that living room empty for us today some things i'm finding are kind of interesting though like this 1960s or early 70s binder very kind of pop arty kind of cool this old marquee magazine from june of 1980 and what's the new movie empire strikes back so i'll probably keep a couple of those things aside i did see look we've got hardwood floors again no surprise the surprise is that we can actually see them and when i go to lift the old rug up put those out of the way you can see the floors in this room are actually pretty good shape too all the years of dust and debris have actually saved the floors in this house what's more surprising i think than anything is that this beach ball way back here covering dust still has air in it hey josh catch you want to let out the 1970s you could smell the 70s you know what the 70s smelled like uh i'm guessing that one might smell like um like beef burrito yep i can oh yeah i'm getting it disco fever that's what we're gonna contract by breathing in that air it's not just a dancing it's uh it's an actual disease now we found an art portfolio with some original artwork in it that's a cool piece yeah that actually is a cool piece next next still life still alive yeah different signature but lean that's pointillism that's like saras you take little dots yeah that's kind of neat is there one more in there oh that's actually is that chalk yeah it looks like it looks like that one's ripped unfortunately yeah but look there's another one almost just like it up on the wall oh yeah it's like a um this one's better it's like a dragon butterfly bat flower thing it's kind of cool dragonfly bat flowers i'm sure that's not what it's called officially no you could i guess you didn't finish that one this is called dragonfly back flower thing oh i nailed it smarty pants okay when i said there was one more i guess there was a whole bunch there's a whole bunch birds butterflies oh these are the same kind of thing yeah maybe like a close-up of flower petals it looks like a flower well i mean what we'll do is we'll put this stuff through auction and see how how it does yeah absolutely that one you didn't finish this one yeah is that it oh there's more couple more actually this is it's really full there's a bunch this is a palette wait what's the no no oh maybe that's a palette but look there's a oh yeah some sort of wizard guy or a monk i don't know he looks like he's knowledgeable like you can ask him a question yeah okay what was that king tuts some more art oh yeah that's cool a bunch of elephants this is cool it's like a a totem of elephants all stacked up one another hand carved not as heavy as you think you know two threes would be no and then they get smaller until there's a tiny one up top that's that's like two three feet tall of elephants do you think an elephant would be scared of that tiny elephant on the top thinking it's a mess only if it was gray in mouse well i guess it would be gray maybe okay here's a couple more that one's kind of odd but yeah so like this is my favorite i think you like the king tut one yeah and then there's a gay student yeah this is sounds pretty cool you know some of them are a bit more painterly than others but you know people like that stuff man well i wish i could have thrown more in the garbage for you but then we're waiting for the dumpster so we're heading out all right i know there's not much to do the the living room is full so we can't move my furniture out there the clothes are taking up space the dumpster is overflowing as much as there's still lots of work to do that's probably all we can do today well thank you again very much thank you denovia for all your help again today you sure you don't want to keep a couple of those wigs for later you know no zenobia no you don't want a little uh bob ross in your living room coming to visit you you missed it josh you're awesome he put on an afro wig and he looked like bob ross with his beard there it was like if bob ross was super hyper one day or something we have to watch this video he's going to watch it shake my head yeah have a good one guys we'll see ya i'm leaving too thank you for the art supplies oh of course what am i going to do now i'm going to be here by myself cleaning in the dark i can't go anywhere because i'm waiting for the clothing guys to finish up and they're gonna be all night oh they probably will they're so when he does give us a call we'll come in and give you a hand yeah probably not tomorrow but the day after i would say yeah you guys just let us know i will have a good one guys and when you're doing the tool room i will call i will be excited for that i think we'll all be having a good night josh bye for now bye josh is loading on his stuff but the owner of the house actually came by with a special surprise for josh what did he bring you what did the owner of the place give you they gave me the archie fabric yeah they just kept one little chunk of it uh so they could make a mask out of it just cut a little bit out but now you can actually do something cool with that right yeah i don't know what but i just love it it's so cool you should do a picture frame in archie material yeah i could do that i don't know you could do something cool with it yeah i don't know what i'm gonna do i don't know how to sew so i need to learn how to do that well upholstery is really easy you just stretch it and staple it so you can make who knows there's lots of stuff you could do and you got your uh charter of rights and freedoms yeah everyone's gotta have one of those for their workshop so uh and dressed in the fashion that you're dressed if you get pulled over you're gonna want to have that handy you'll be like listen officer i'm gonna i've got a reason let me bring up the tour registration well first yeah let me tell you about my rights yeah you'd be like oh it's one of these guys they're so annoying okay well okay now he's really leaving folks well enjoy your new goodies thank you so much well i'm not totally alone i've got paul hanging out with me and we're going through the curio cabinet a little bit and i'm kind of finding some little knick-knacks that are kind of cool like this vintage hyatt regency waikiki i guess that would be like a flower ball i wonder if that was for sale or if that was meant to stay in the room either way it's here now this was a neat piece i was showing paul this it's like a beatnik coffee mug the guy playing the string bass in a box and the guy is rocking out on his guitar that's got to be 50s i'd say for sure hey what do you think 60s 60s early 60s england oh that's really cool yeah yeah and this little mug down here trying to be careful about this oil field technical society and you can see it's uh oil rig workers all embossed on here that's kind of cool that's what those guys are playing it's a skipper a skipple band so that's late 50s early 60s english the english skipple bands were really popular in that era yeah and uh but you said you played as uh i played uh my first one of my first rockabilly bands i played a watchtop base it was a galvanized metal wash tub that i flamed up and i had a crazy stick with a skull on it and a cord it was good a lot of people really enjoyed it and even after we got a band and we had an actual bass player everybody was like where's the washtown get over the wash tub already they liked it so much people loved it but you were never a hurdy gertie man no never heard any gertie but i think this guy was look it says hurdy gertie right there this kind of reminds me going through my great grandma's house in fact when i went to go visit my great grandma all she had were games like this and she had a view master but the only thing on the view master was the queen's coronation it was not you weren't going there for the entertainment that's for sure but i did love her cooking and so it made it all worthwhile to see grandma and get her wonderful cooking but uh yeah as a kid i remember you want to play some games and then you just get one of these little things they're like yep they keep you entertained for a while though the other thing that i see here is that this is a little uh carving or i should say more like a little statue with signed j full of a beaver and next to it we've got some vintage indigenous beaded necklaces so this would be possibly cree if it's from our area here and the beadwork on is just lovely so some nice local indigenous stuff and it seems like there's a few little pieces of indigenous art in here some surprises around every corner hey look here's even an old heidelberg it's a bottle turned into a cup you used to be able to get a gloss cutting kit you could cut the top off smooth it down and make yourself a little heidelberg glass somebody would probably buy that thing now i should probably i'll run that through the sale and see how it goes but i bet somebody watching would probably think that's pretty cool too this thing is actually kind of freaky looking and yes i'm touching it with my hand um it's actually a candle this is some insane looking candle art thing that's all wax oh there's the ghost phone ringing in the background again but yeah that's some funky candle i think i'm gonna answer the phone that's weird i answered the phone and there was nobody there i could just hear breathing on the other end um kind of unsettling i'm gonna go back to uh to work now hopefully they guys be back soon to get the rest of the furniture i feel like they haven't really made much of a dent i mean there's a little bit of a dent i can walk in there again but this is gonna be kind of an all-nighter i think oh here's some candles that might be in uh the future spokes picture of viagra they're not not doing as well as they used to be back in the the original day but it can end up in the garbage now candlestick holders a nice heavy brass those are salvageable and some teacups now i really love all the little uh statues the busts the famous composers it's a nice little set right there starfish that's been sitting here so long it's becoming like um was it salvador dali had the clocks melting that's what the starfish is doing off the edge of this bookcase it looks like a melting dolly clock and with the sheet music i found this northland songs with this great image of a canadian mountie on the front look how stoic and heroic he looks lyrics by john murray gibbon and underneath that was a little ziploc bag full of these little tiny coca-cola sample bottles i think if you went to the coca-cola bottling factory you'd get these as a little gift they'd give the kids and there's a whole little bag of them there those are always a nice little seller at the end of the day paul and i are going through the record racks in the little record room and pulling them out so far some good early rock and roll like tommy roshila and we've got rock rock rock the chuck berry the flamingos there's a lot of early rock and roll albums in here simon garfunkel but then there was a few surprises well there were some uh hey that's a good one david clayton thomas and the shays that's early for david clayton thomas cool uh let's see jethro tall teenage dance party there was some beetles in here too somewhere or that was in the other box is that this one oh yeah there's revolver and sergeant peppers long tall sally hollywood bowl this is the earlier one that has the applied tickets on the outside so lots of interesting albums so i will sort through those a little more thoroughly but as we're looking through the closet well there's original artwork hanging on the walls here we unplugged the lamp which is super cool mid-century lamp a little statue is even neat nice little clock back there found the floor buffer and what's the floor buffer stuck in between some super cool bark cloth 1950s curtains that are all wrapped up in the plastic so they're probably gonna be in good condition lots more records and a velvet painting of a violin still lots more discoveries to be made at the uh the records are actually uh turn out to be a lot more um it's popular music and i wasn't expecting any popular music nice little uh telephone stand behind us what's in the cupboard more records a lot more records they're stacked flat though which is not good for an album they don't like to be stacked by there's so many in here oh look they actually come all the way up to the top i'll have to take them out the top to get them bob villains greatest hits let's see hawaiian music i'm gonna have to pull all these out we'll do that next episode i'll pull out the records more fully we'll go through this room do you just save my life yes yeah i almost had a record rack injury how would i even explain that at the hospital what's with all these funny lines in your back you were brought in by some rock and roll biker guy and he claims a record rack fell on you thanks that thing was teetering over i think that's a sign to call it a night so this was today's haul um a bag full of jewelry mostly costume and a couple silver pieces uh some silver quarters a bag of money from around the world and this was kind of fun actually zenobia and hans found this upstairs a whole bunch of vintage 1950s canadian currency that's still all stacked up in here so pretty good little fine maybe like forty dollars about forty dollars from the 1950s and an old uh an old american penny from 1906 it's pretty neat so a few little fun things here and there a bunch of canadian dollar coins 50 american 50 cent pieces all in all pretty good haul for today so that's it another busy day home with the kids i'm going to call it a night tonight but another good haul some jewelry some more silver coins and more than that the house is finally starting to get emptied out there's still a pile of clothing left that all happens this weekend and saturday i think is the big day when the majority of the clothing is going to go i'm really looking forward to that then i can actually see what i have
