hey everyone Mr Macintosh here and opencore Legacy Patra has a brand new version available 1.4.1 we are also going to cover the previous 1.4.0 and the upcoming 1.4.2 updates and this is adding support for MAA Sonoma 14.4 this is a huge update that caused the developers a lot of problems so we got a lot to cover there plus we've got nine different test Macs to be able to make sure that the installation of the latest update Works we're going to try to cover all the different configurations that you might be in we've got six different somoma machines including adding a 2010 Mac Pro to account for a metal compatible graphics card and updated Wi-Fi plus we're going to cover Ventura Montery and Big Sir because there's a bunch of users out there still using the older operating systems don't let the length of this video intimidate you we're going to cover every single section and break them up into individual chapters so you can go to any part of the video that you need we are going to go over how big this update is and all of the fixes and the new features included in there plus we're going to talk about the warning for non-metal Max from 2008 to 2011 in somoma 14.4 we're also going to talk about a new just breaking issue for legacy Wi-Fi equipped Maxs for Mac OS Moni 1274 and Mac OS Ventura 13.65 plus we're also going to talk about how 1.4.1 needs to be installed first before updating to Sono 14.4 we're also going to talk about a problem with not having any Wi-Fi after installing Soma 14.4 then we're going to talk about not having any Wi-Fi after installing the Ventura or Mony updates and that's the Legacy Wi-Fi issue we're also going to go over updating the app open core and the post volume patches for Sonoma 14.4 to give you a full walkthrough we're going to make sure that 1.4.1 is still safe to install on older versions like we mentioned earlier Big Sir Montery or Ventura then we're going to talk about the problems that you might have whether you have a black screen on login a white desktop that's really slow you have a crashing login window no keyboard or Mouse and if you installed the 14 .4 update on a non-metal Mac when you didn't hear about this issue I updated one of the machines that was non-metal to 14.4 to show you the problems that are happening to help you get out of that situation so we got a lot to cover let's do it together and jump in and get started first let's go over all of the different information sections in here including all the warnings then we'll go over all the fixes in this release and then we'll get to the demos first of all there is a lot of changes in the Mac Sonoma 14.4 update this is also known as the spring release because it includes the most internal operating system fixes that we will see in somoma most of the updates from now on will be maintenance release and security updates because probably most likely most of the development work is now working on M Sonoma to prepare it for WWDC coming out in June with that said there's a lot of things that need to be fixed in 14.4 that causes developers a lot of headaches one of the biggest problems was non-metal graphics cards so metal graphics cards are in any max mostly from 2012 are newer 2011 are not equipped with a metal compatible graphics card and that causes problems here's the list of Macs that are not supported with Macos Sonoma 14.4 so if you have any of these on the list do not update to 14.4 I would also recommend turning off automatic updates and let's take a look at that so if you have a non-metal Mac and you do not want that 14.4 go into system settings then go into General then go into software update and then go into this information Circle here and then click on download new updates available and then there won't be an accidentally downloading and installing the 14.4 update you can still check for updates because you want to be able to install the EXP protect updates in the background and stuff like that but we do not want to install 14.4 and then once it's fixed you can always turn that back on but that's how you turn that off and there's also a list of affected GPU models now keep in mind this is temporary if a fix is found and implemented for the non-metal Max that will come in a future version of open core Legacy patch up but for now hold on 14.3.1 so you're safe with your non-metal Mac for the next warning here upgrading to Mac OS 14.4 you must install openc Legacy Patcher 1.4.1 beforehand or the upcoming 1.4.2 a lot of the hardware including metal gpus Wi-Fi cars T1 chipsets have new patches that are specifically fixed for 14.4 and we highly recommend installing 1.4.1 beforehand to ensure a smooth update in no issues what that means is is that what we've always recommended here is making sure that we update open cor Legacy Patcher before any update because you're getting the latest changes from the open CLE Patcher developers before installing the latest update so as long as we do that we're good to go for 14.4 as long as we have a metal compatible graphics card Mac the next warning once you upgrade to 14.4 the auto joining Wi-Fi networks most likely going to be a problem what that means is when you reboot your your Mac you've selected your home Wi-Fi to Auto join as soon as the operating system comes back up the problem is is that the fix that was put into this to make sure that the Wi-Fi was fixed you have to forget the network and then reconnect again I'll show you that in the demo coming up later in the video now there's a fourth warning that was just add and this is the late breaking information that we just talked about in the intro of this video do not install Mac OS 12.7.18 point5 if you have a Mac with a legacy WiFi patches a recent change broke the Legacy Wireless patches in mon inv Ventura in the latest versions of 04 and 0.5 and the fix will arrive in the next version which will most likely be 1.4.2 coming out as soon as that is fixed and tested what is a legacy Wireless Mac let's take a look at that to see if your Mac is a legacy Wii equipped machine we can go all the way back to the 0.6.1 update to take a look look at this really nice section here that shows all of the Legacy wireless cards that are included in this Ventura and Monterey problem we've got MacBook to 2009 air to 2010 MacBook Pro to 2010 iMac to 2011 Mac Mini to 9 and Mac Pro to 2012 so just hold off if you've got one of these Macs with Legacy Wi-Fi Now with those four warnings out of the way we can talk about the main pieces of the patch with this lease of open cor Legacy Patcher 1.4.1 and zero this build is primarily targeted for Maga syoma 14.4 to ensure proper functionality over 1.4.0 and 1.4.1 the 1.4.1 update hotfix resolves a keyboard and trackpad support issue for the mid 2013 MacBook Air so that's what the 1.4.1 hotfix fixed we always talk about this if you have a Mac that you require and need every single day I still recommend recommend Mac OS Ventura or Mac OS mon because they are still supported security Wise from Apple and they're very solid support-wise because Apple's not putting any operating system based fixes in there for features and all that other stuff what this also showed with that Legacy Wi-Fi problem that when they're fixing some of the security updates there still could be some problems so that's why we want to be able to cover the older operating systems so it can still happen but they're still more solid than somoma because somoma is still in active development we always mention this too because it's important to be able to if you have the means support the open cor Legacy Patrick developers and you can always go to the open Collective openc Legacy patch donation page if you would like to be able to give back to the developers now let's go over some of the main points of the change log the 1.4.1 update hot fix didn't just fix the keyboard and trackpad issue for the MacBook Air it also published a new Bluetooth EnV Ram variables for these two chipsets and it reduces the need for an EnV Ram res set to restore bluetooth support in newer os's and we have talked about that in the past where we've had issues on the 2011 MacBook Pro when it would come back up it did not have Bluetooth and the way to fix that was to reset the pram and we were good to go so this is a really nice fix and thanks to AAR sportler for that now the main patch was 1.4.0 and 1.4.1 includes all the fixes of 1.4.0 some of the fixes included in this the one of the ones that was in my mind a big issue and it was the fact that recovery OS was broken with the previous version of open core the latest version of opencore package 0.9.7 fixes the recovery OS so now instead of having to have a USB flash drive to be able to Boot to meos recovery we can now be able to get into recovery by holding down option clicking booty if I and then hitting the space bar and clicking recovery and we can now get back into the internal recovery system so that is a huge fix I've tested it and it works perfectly one of the big problems with the 14.4 update was keyboard and trackpad support for MacBook 8 comma 1 Air 7 comma and MacBook Pro 12 comma all the way to 14 comma that was a big issue that was causing problems with 14.4 that was resolved there's also was a problem with the T1 security chip on any touch bar Max from 2016 or newer on 14.4 and that restored that from working for any model that had the touch bar and the T1 security chip so again another nice fix even though we have problems with the non-metal Max right now in 14.4 even metal gpus had problems with the 14.4 update including Ivy brident through Skylake Nvidia keper and AMD Legacy gcn so this kind of shows you the big headache that the developers were rushing through this 14.4 spring release update so again we're really hoping that from 14.5 forward we won't have so many core operating system changes that screw up a a lot of the patches that developers work on in the future we also restored support for USB 1.1 on Mac OS 14.4 and that was a big problem for any xserve Mac Pro or and Max again you can see the headache that the developers were having here and it resolves support for legacy and modern Wi-Fi and 14.4 or newer and that is applicable to all Wi-Fi equipped Macs and notes that we talked about earlier that with after installing 14.4 the auto join may not work and you might need to join and we will go over that in the demo okay now that we went over all the changes and fixes in the 1.4.1 update let's go over a live demo on how to update the application the open cord to EFI the root patches and then update to Mac OS Sono 14.4 I've had a lot of questions and remember there's so many new people to open cor Legacy Patcher they still are asking how do I update open cor Z pader how do I update the latest version of of Mac OS should I install a USB and update that that way should I do it through system preferences or system settings this is why we go through a full demo so you can watch and see exactly how to do it so our demonstration Mac here today open car Legacy patch update and somoma 14.4 update is a Mac Pro late 2013 which has a metal compatible graphics card now you should see a popup like this saying that there's a new version of open core Legacy Patcher available if you've logged into your Mac or started it up from new it always checks when you log in for a new update and this is what you should see but if you haven't seen this then you can still go into your application you can click on finder here or you can click on your McIntosh hard drive if you have the shortcut on your desktop go into applications and then go to open core right here and open it up and it'll do the same thing once you open the app it'll check for updates and it sees that there's a new update available wonder if you already installed the 1.4.0 update and you're like wait a minute I just installed the update well look up here because it might be the 1.4.1 update that needs to be installed it's just going to make sure that you're installed to the latest version so all you need to do is click on download and install so you might see that I've got shortcuts down here and you can also see this new little progress bar down here which is really cool it shows the progress even on the application icon now it's going to install the update we need to type in our administrator password enter and 1.4.1 is installed just installing the app isn't all you need to do you all also need to install the open core to your EFI and install the post Ro patches to the 1.4.1 version this process is going to do it for you automatically you just click on yes I want to be able to install the open core patches and we're going to install them to disk we're going to do it to dis zero which is our internal hard drive and our EFI partition and then we need our administrator password again and we can see it's going to mount the EFI partition update open core on the FI unmount it and we're going to now move on to the next part we want to be able to install the new version of the root patch is next so we'll click on yes we last updated this Mac Pro on February 9th to version 1.3.0 and it also shows us which patches we're going to install for this Mac Pro AMD Legacy gcn and monitor and wireless let's click on start R patching and then we want to be able to relaunch as the administrator type in our password now it's going to start the roope patching now this is the situation where it's going to if you running a older version of the kernel debug kit it will download now but since we haven't updated the version of Mac OS it doesn't need to go get it because it's already got the latest version in the kentel debug kit folder which is located in Macintosh hard drive Library developer KDK and here's all the KDK and you can see it still has the version 14.3.1 so it doesn't need to download anything the root patches have been applied all we need to do is reboot to apply all the new versions of the open core and the root patches now keep in mind only certain machines need the kernel debug kit and I always put that list in the description of the video so you can see if you need this it's for certain Maxs in that list below so now let's click on reboot and restart all right we are back up let's open up the open cor Legacy patch app to make sure everything looking good we can click on post R patch here and verify that the new version of patches were installed and there we go 1.4.1 today in March 9th what about the open core we can go to settings and then we can click on app and then we can scroll down to see the version of open core on here and there it is release 0.9 9.7 the release it also fixes magos recovery so we're good for the open core EFI patches and the root patches we're good to go for the 14.4 update how do we update to 14.4 all we need to do is go into system settings we don't need to create a full installer USB we don't need to Boot to recovery to install the update we can do all this through the system settings app and software update from General and then software update now give this a second sometimes software update might be a little bit slow to load but it will load even sometimes clicking on the buttons might be a little bit slow but it will work you can see that it sees 14.4 in here and to get more info you can click on this to be able to see and there it is 13.6 and that's totally normal for a size for all unsupported Max all we need to do is click on update now and now that we know that we need the kernel debug kit we should see the popup happen here for open core Legacy patches to realize that a Mac OS update is downloading and you can see it just popped up it says open Legacy Patcher has detected that a Mac OS update is being downloaded 14.4 the Patcher needs to prepare the system for the update and we'll download any additional resources which there it is KDK build 23e 214 which is the same exact version of 14.4 we'll click on okay it still goes so if you forget to click on okay it's still going to go in the background but click okay so it can continue the process now what it does is it goes behind the window so you can just click the bouncing open core to be able to see that progress now keep in mind it is going at the same speed to try to download the KDK which is 900 megabytes compared to downloading the 13 so 13 gabt for the Macos 14.4 14.4 update so give it some time it'll take a little time to do that but let's open up that KDK folder so we can watch this live is it's going to stash that KDK package right here so it's ready to go after the 14.4 update is installed because we know that after installing a Macos update all of those root patches are gone including the Wi-Fi patches that we need from this package here so if I can't go download it it's here waiting to go so now that that's stashed we know we're safe to go if you know your Mac needs a KDK and that process didn't start you might be a little bit worried and you need to check the list so I'm going to pull up that list now so here's a good list of what whether your Mac needs the kernel debug kit if you have a Mac with a dedicated Intel GPU or Nvidia GPU you do not need the kernel debug kit download you only really need the KDK if you have an AMD GPU but we've got a star there because you also need the KDK if your Mac has a USB 1.1 controller and that includes these Macs 2010 and older Air Pro iMac 2009 Mac Mini 2011 older and Mac Pro 2010 and older so that gives you an idea of which Mac needs the KDK if that doesn't start to download you can still download it manually from the opencore Legacy patch a developer Mir site so if you go to this address and I'll put this in the description the Doria KDK support package releases these are the raw KDK packages that you can download just to make sure like let's say you want to have a backup of it you can download it right here from this DMG the one we are looking for is the 14 .4 production version which is 23e 214 you can look at that by the date two days ago now one of the other problems is is that Apple usually does not release the kernel debug kit until 6 hours later after the Mac OS update so if you downloaded and installed the 14.4 update you got a beta version of the konel debug kit which is not necessarily bad but you want the production version so I always recommend waiting at least until the this is updated first then you can update because you got the latest KDK build so to be able to download it like I said just click on this down arrow and you click this and it'll download that right down here to your download folder so you have a backup copy you can put that to a USB if you need to but most likely as long as this process works you got a copy already so you don't need that copy so what we're going to do is we're going to let this download and finish it's going to sit there and prepare the update for about 20 minutes reboot install the update and come back up and we'll pick up where that left off okay we're back up on our Mac Pro late 2013 after installing the Sonoma 14.4 update you should see the automatic root Patcher message come up saying that you need to apply the root patches but if you don't go into Macintosh hard drive applications open core and then you can install the root Patches from there but when you see this message click on okay identification that you do not have the root patches install is that the system is slow you don't have a transparent menu bar you have a white background and that's your initial understanding of this system does not have those patches installed let's type in our password hit okay talked about that kernel debug kit here for 14.4 the root Patcher is going to install this we'll see a new folder created and it will use those drivers to be able to create the new sealed snapshot with all of the modifications to make the system work and you can see that it's installing the 14.4 adk and once that folder is created in there then it's going to be able to continue and there it is we now have the 14.4 folder now it is merging that KDK and it's creating that right now with all the drivers and it's going to rebuild the kernel cache and then merge them into the snapshot and there it is created the new apfs snapshot now it's unmounting the root volume and then we'll be able to reboot here we go click on reboot and restart okay we're back up after installing those root patches and there we are we're on 14.4 with 1.4.1 installed today no issues whatsoever we've got our Bluetooth but we still have that auto joint issue that we talked about and went over in the last demo our no network is not connected now again you can click on this to try to connect to it again here and if it does connect you're good to go but if it doesn't make sure you go into those Wi-Fi settings the circle with the three dots and then forget this network and then join it again and your Wi-Fi will be working so that covers our 2013 Mac Pro now let's go over some of our demo Maxs with the 14.4 update and open cor Legacy Patcher 1.4.1 the first one we're going to start with is our mid 2017 15-in MacBook Pro this one's important because it includes the T1 security chip Touch ID and the touch bar so we want to make sure all those pieces work we're at the lock screen and we want to make sure Touch ID works so I'm going to touch ID right now and it opens up just fine we've got 1.4.1 installed and the touch bar Works no issues whatsoever with this model we've got our Wi-Fi we've got our Bluetooth everything's working we had for patches AMD Legacy gcn 2017 modern Wireless and the T1 security chip patches they all installed properly for this 2017 15-inch MacBook Pro next up on the list is our MacBook Pro Retina 15-in mid 2014 this one was picked because it has a Nvidia Kepler GPU so we can test that because it does not require the kernel debug kit we were on open C Legacy Patcher 1.4.1 we already installed somoma 14.4 I've got screens up here we've got the post install root patches that were for the coupler Intel Haswell modern Wireless and pcie FaceTime camera and we've got the picture of the system extension updates that can pop up instead of the kernel debug message so if you see that that's okay you can click on okay on that I've got this on ethernet so I can demo this over screen sharing and we can see that when we look at the Wi-Fi icon it's grayed out so we are not connected in even after installing the patches but that's okay because that was how the ISS was patched this may be fixed in 1.4.2 so you don't have to worry about the auto join problem anymore but if you do have this this is how you resolve it click on your Wi-Fi icon you can see that it's in a own network but it's not connected so if this happens all you need to do is go into Wi-Fi settings and then you go to the no network here and you should see your Wi-Fi network click on these three dots and then click forget this network and then remove now we can connect to it so let's click this again we should see all of our Wi-Fi here we'll click on our Wi-Fi network and then we'll type in our password and click on join and we can immediately see that it's trying to connect and look we're connected we've got an IP address we are good to go for our Wi-Fi so that's how to fix the auto join issue and this retina 2014 is now ready to go next up on the list is our Mac Mini late 2012 this Mac has a metal compatible GPU but it is only Intel and that's why we picked this version because it does not need the konel debug kit but it needs certain system extensions to be updated and that's why we have this up here and we can see we got the Intel Ivy bridge and modern Wireless Ron 1.4.1 and 14.4 with no issues on this Mac Mini next up on the list is our new entry for somoma testing our mid 2010 5 comma 1 Mac Pro this is important because this machine can take in so many different configurations different Wi-Fi cards different video cards this is a perfect candidate to be able to test to make sure Sonoma and latest version of opencore Legacy Patcher works this men 2010 that we have here is running a metal compatible Nvidia nvs 510 2 GB card this is one of the lower end cheaper cards that can be metal compatible but it still works and there was a lot of questions if my Mac Pro is not metal compatible wonder if I have a metal compatible card can I still install the 14.4 update and the answer is yes and this shows you that we can we've got 1.4.1 and 14.4 and this system is running great our Bluetooth our Wi-Fi everything's working great so this is our good test device that we'll continue to use into the future next up is our final maoma test device and this is our non-metal 2011 17in MacBook Pro we did not include our MacBook 2010 because we didn't want to break any additional machines but I broke this machine on purpose because there's many of you that might be in this condition if you didn't see that warning or you updated without updating open core Legacy Patcher let's try to use this as a good base for the future make sure that we always check those patch notes on open core Legacy patchers page before installing a Mac OS update and we always want to make sure that we're running the latest version of open core Legacy Patcher before we install a MAG OS update just to be able to be in the safest possible position the problem is is if you install 14.4 on a non-metal GPU Mech like this 2011 you're going to be in bad shape there's multiple problems here the login window crashes when you try to log in uh up to one two or even three times before it even gets you to the desktop and you can see the login window crash right here the other problem here is that just because you get to the desktop doesn't mean you can use the system if we try to get into a terminal here and start typing it doesn't even type the menu bar is gone and we are in a pretty bad position here we can start some apps but again to be able to type stuff in like this doesn't even work what we can do though is if you are in this situation what I would recommend is waiting until the patch comes out or we can always back up our data because you can still move these files here and put them on a USB drive from your user folder and then we would have to reinstall 14.3.1 the same way we originally installed so you would have to open up the open cacy patch your app and what we would do is we would put our USB drive in here we would click create Mac OS installer create that installer reboot make sure all your data is backed up again because we have to erase and install you cannot downgrade over the top of a newer version of Mac OS we erase the drive install 14.3.1 and then our non-metal Mac is back and working again so those are two options we can sit here and we can wait until a patch comes out again there's no ETA on non-metal with 14.4 so I just want to set those expectations so you can also as a third option you can cut the partition in half and you can look at my my opencore legacy Patcher on a dual boot or a USB boot video and install 14.3.1 on a secondary partition or volume on your hard drive until the 14.1 on non-metal Max is fixed that's why I wanted to show you what this system is like when you accidentally install 14.4 on a non-metal system if you have any questions on this please let me know in the comments okay now let's talk about the older os's maos Ventura maos monter and Ma OS Big Sir because again a lot of you are still running these older operating systems and we want to be able to cover them especially with the Legacy Wi-Fi issue having problems with the latest 13.65 Ventura and the Monteray update security updates so first of all our Ventura test is a mid 2015 15-in Reda MacBook Pro it runs AMD Legacy root patches and Intel has well and it does need the kernel debug kit and we are running 1.4.1 everything is running a okay on the system but I also wanted to cover some questions that I already saw in the comments all these information all this about the Sonoma update how do I update my Ventura or monter Mac when I see somoma here so here's our live example and you're thinking well where the heck is the 1365 update well you got to again scroll all the way down and then you'll see at the very bottom you'll see a more updates area right here you got to click they're really pushing everybody to somoma if you want to stay in montere or Ventura you stay there install those security updates there's no rush to jump to Soma right now stay on those solid versions of operating systems in your a now that we know that we are set here on our metal compatible retina with that said this machine is running AOK we've got our Wi-Fi we've got our sound our Bluetooth everything's okay with Ventura now keep in mind we did talk about that Legacy Wi-Fi problem on Ventura and Montery and we'll get to that in a little bit in later in the video now let's talk about Good Old trusty MOS monor is still a solid operating system we got a couple things we want to cover we're on 12.7.18 point1 we have no issues with our Wi-Fi our Bluetooth sound everything's working great again we're not talking about Legacy Wi-Fi we'll talk about that right after the big surf piece talk about what we just talked about in magas Ventura and the fact that we have magas Sonoma right here trying to get you to upgrade up to get to the monter update you got to click on this more info to be able to see the safari update and the 12.7.18 point1 and 12.7.19 metal Mac because big S still includes the drivers needed for the hardware so you don't even need to install root patches on metal compatible Maxs with Mac b s so it's really nice but I wanted to be able to cover installing the root patches on a system just to make sure there's no issues with this particular Mac we need terascale 2 AMD Sandy bridge and Legacy keyboard backlight and we are running 1.4.1 on the last version of magos bigsur 11.71 with no issues it's running great okay this is the troubl shooting section that I wanted to talk about multiple issues especially picking up where we left off with Ventura and monter talking about no Wi-Fi for legacy Wi-Fi patch Max first we'll start off on that Ventura and Monterey issue I want to talk about what to do if you installed 1274 or 1365 on one of those older Legacy patched Wi-Fi Maxs and this is the list we talked about this earlier but again I want to cover it if you did install ventur armer your Wi-Fi is currently broken in this situation now again I did mention there's a patch in the works there's no ETA on this but it's most like likely going to be included in the 1.4.2 open core Legacy Patcher update and we will go over that to make sure that you get fixed in the meantime the good news is most of these machines include ethernet so if you have ethernet that will work and that'll get you around or you can just kind of hold off and wait a little bit until that patch comes out or if you really truly need that Wi-Fi you can do what we talked about earlier you can install a earlier version of Ventura or or monor on a secondary volume or you can just do a fresh reinstall that is not the latest version of 1274 or 13.65 but I wanted to make sure I covered this if you ran into this situation where your Wi-Fi doesn't work on your older Legacy WiFi equipped Mac the next thing I want to talk about is the black screen issue where after installing the somoma update it boots back up to the login window but it's black it has a black background it's super slow you can't type in your p password it is okay if you're in that situation either wait to see if you the keyboard will respond you can shut down that system by holding on the power button and then letting it boot back up and every time I've seen that issue happen the system comes right back up to the login window and you can log in and then let the root patches installed reboot and everything's okay so that should cover that black screen issue let me know in the comments if you had this issue or if you're still stuck with one of those types of issues the next issue I wanted to talk about Mech is running slow though the dock is non-transparent I've got a white background what is going on this is a screenshot of a system that has not had the root patches applied after installing a Macos Sonoma update and this is what it looks like the only way you would be in this situation is if the auto root Patcher screen didn't come up and you didn't know that then you had to go into the opic cor Lexi Patcher app and apply those patches manually so if that does happen no big deal if the auto Patcher didn't come up just go on your hard drive go on applications go into your open core Legacy Patcher application and then run those root patches right now manually and that's if the automatic Patcher screen doesn't come up and say hey you need to apply these patches I've seen that happen and users are a little bit confused of what to do but that's how to get you out of this white screen issue the next issue I wanted to cover was the crashing login window problem you installed 14.4 somoma on a non-metal Mac you can rewind the video back to the 20117 in section to be able to go over in detail about that situation but if that happened to you you've got a couple options we can wait a little bit for a newer update to open cor Legacy Patcher but non-metal with 14.4 support has no ETA right now I don't want to try to promise that there'll be some kind of magic fix in the next day or week or even a couple weeks because we just don't know the developers are looking at it now and they're doing the best they possibly can with what they have but if you're in that situation you got an OP of downgrading to 14.3.1 erase and install after backing up your data installing 1431 on a secondary volume and using it or just holding off until a newer patch comes out later so those are some of the options if you installed 14.4 and you get your login Windows crashing you don't have a menu bar all kinds of problems are happening let me know in the comments if this did happen to you maybe we can figure out a way to get you all fixed up the next thing I've been seeing is some people saying that they do not have keyboard trackpad or mouse support after installing the latest update of any OS now keep in mind in the latest Ventura or Sonoma update remember if your Mac is a legacy USB 1.1 system which is around 2010 and older Max you need to have that USB 2.0 Hub or a 2008 Apple keyboard which is USB 2.0 to be able able to use the system to install the root patches that fixes the keyboard and then reboots now remember those other patch notes that we talked about that cover the keyboard and the Wi-Fi issues if we look at the release notes remember some of those things are fixed too so we got to make sure that those post install root patches are installed and then your keyboard and mouse should work properly now I wanted to cover my recommendation do I recommend installing 1.4.1 and the latest operating system versions this one is difficult because as long as you follow these four warnings you will be okay and make sure your Mac is not in One of These Warnings and as long as you do you're fine as you could see with all the demos that we did today all those systems were fine no issues whatsoever but like that 2007 like that 20117 inch that thing is in bad shape right now because it's non-metal if you read all these warnings then I do recommend as long as your Mac is compatible and not in one of these sections here installing those updates gets you the latest security updates for Mac OS for 14.4 Ventura and Montery so you are updated with the latest Apple security updates so I do recommend installing those as long again as long as you're in this listing you've gone over all four of these warnings now that we know that what do we look to the Future we've got that we've got the next version of open cor Legacy Patcher 1.4.2 coming out hopefully soon to be able to fix the auto join and the Legacy Wireless patches for Monteray and Ventura but again we won't know until that comes out so we will definitely go over that are you did I miss anything here is there anything that you want me to cover when we're talking about open cor Legacy Patcher let me know in the comments if you have a question or how your update experience went I really appreciate you sticking around all the way to the end of the video you are a true VIP and we catch you in the next video thanks
