magnify you amen praise god christ be magnified it was indeed christ who was the center of our founding fathers in america patrick henry said that the birthday of this nation is indissolubly linked to the birth of our savior let it be clear that this nation was not founded by religionists but by the gospel of jesus christ it was founded he said by christians let me tell you whether it's the mayflower compact or the jamestown uh compact that all decided that they were one of the established colonies for the glory of god and the advancement of the christian faith no matter how revisionist no matter how secularists try to wipe that out of our history let me tell you that's the way it happened that's the way it is christ is the rock of this nation christ be magnified amen christ be magnified because you shed your grace on america amen america the beautiful because god shed his grace on her amen so we're seeing christ be magnified oh hallelujah you're blessed at all to be in this country you want to thank god for it you want to magnify christ you want to give him the glory thank him well happy 4th of july i just want to remind you it's not the original flag of this country with 13 stripes represent the 13 colonies that gives you true freedom and it is a man raised about 15 feet high and an old rugged cross with 39 stripes on his back oh if you're going to do anything hallelujah i'm thankful for george washington but i'm here to worship jesus christ amen stand with me and pray for our nation pray also for the ted hamilton family ted and ruthie have been a part of church for a long time of course covet they haven't been here uh they had some pre-existing conditions he passed away yesterday funeral will be next sunday afternoon here from two to four wake from two to three and three o'clock service pray for ruthie been married 55 years so remember her and your prayers today and their entire family those that are in the hospital nursing homes those that have needs that you know about guess what if you know about it god gives you things that you should pray for well i just like to talk about it to other people pastor well that's not god's intention unless you're sharing the need for prayer god wants you as a steward to pray about it well amen hallelujah where's the hot dog amen man you guys are ready to eat right but god's ready for you to pray [Music] oh he said in 1st timothy 2 it's god's will that we lift up holy hands without wrath and without doubting and we pray for all those in authority because i'm going to tell you this this is a hand of surrender and praise god we can't change washington but you can come on now we aren't doubting you can change washington christ be magnified amen lord we pray today come on lift up your voice we pray lord and we surrender this battle to you that we need spiritual weapons of prayer to war against the enemy who tries to take over the heavenlies around nations and around cities as daniel battled the prince of persia who was trying to keep the children of god bound in babylon oh god we thank you the lord you will send your warrior angels to fight for america you'll fight for washington dc you'll fight for righteousness in our land and country for sin is a disgrace to any people but righteousness will exalt a nation so god exalt this nation again give us your righteous laws in washington dc touch our leaders there and give them salvation and put righteousness and justice and truth in their hearts and lord made those halls again glorify god that lord as we have two chaplains in the in the senate and one in the house of congress that god it's not just a symbol of honoring you but god you light a fire of revival in those chambers that god you let a fire in those senators you land a fire in those congressmen you let a fire in the white house god a fire of god of god almighty we know you hear our prayer answer us today we give you praise lord that you will touch america you are touching america and you are sending another great awakening because we are praying for that awakening awaken us awaken your church awaken our families god awaken our legislators god to what you are doing and what the enemy is trying to do in our nation christ be magnified christ be magnified christ be magnified christ be magnified christ be magnified be magnified in america once again this nation has not gone to hell we're here as a salt and the light and we're here to magnify christ with first amendment rights the freedom of religion we're here to praise him we're here to thank you no christ be magnified christ be magnified we worship you you're the source of our freedom it's you o lord that is the source of our freedom you are our statue of liberty you're the one who came to set us free thank you lord for your freedom keep america spiritually free keep america in the center of your will keep america focused on you we pray today in jesus name touch we pray the hamilton family minister grace to every person who seems to go through something that's afflicted we we break those attacks of the devil we renounce them we we bind them we do not prohibit the free attack of the enemy to go unrestrained we bind those attacks in america we bind violence we bind murder we bind rape we bind all the racism we bind the injustices we bind it in jesus name we will not permit it we loose righteousness and justice and truth in the name of the lord jesus christ in america hallelujah christ be magnified in america and we give you the praise jesus you're the same yesterday today and yeah thank god we're we got the free land of the home and the free and brave and but we are humbled lord that we are in this nation that god has blessed us to be in the most prosperous nation on the face of the earth today so honor him with your worship honor him with thanksgiving honor him with your gifts and there's ways to give on the screen and then there's that little cute little model church out in the lobby that you can also give but when you give it's not meant to be mechanical it's meant to be spiritual the bible says in leviticus 27 30 that the tithe is holy to the lord jesus watched the widow give her two mites god is not after your money he makes that clear in the bible psalm 50 he said i own the cattle on a thousand hills all the silver and gold is mine he said in isaiah 55 if i was hungry i wouldn't tell you because you couldn't help me he doesn't need your money he just knows that we need to worship him and give it to keep avarice and greed and all that yucky stuff out of our heart so give to him the glory that's to his name and give to him of your material possessions and he will bless you anybody want to testify to that has god blessed anybody here you give i thought though you can never out give god by the way just uh last week and then this week uh to our renovations project two two large gifts came in one for fifteen thousand dollars another one for twenty five hundred dollars so god is blessing your socks off that's why most of you wear sandals amen flip-flops let's honor him father we give you our thanks if we do nothing else but thank you today it will have been our purpose to be here so we thank you today and every day for jesus for abundant life for salvation we thank you today for every good gift has come down from you oh hallelujah lord we are so grateful and we're grateful for this nation all of its warts and all of its problems yet all of its blessings we are thankful lord because you've decided where we would live you decided to put us here even if we weren't born here you decided to put all of us here that are here for this time and this season to do your will so may we be grateful and and may we perform the stewardship temperature checks will also be discontinued as you walk in through the door right now we're gonna leave our socially distant seating in place until labor day but after that that may change thanks so we have both had extensive experience in children's ministries it's been a number of years in which we served in that capacity we were both taken back quite literally and surprised when the holy spirit nudged us at the middle of last week compelling us to serve here at the city sanctuary as interim children's pastors for our fuel kids ministries mom about how long have you been teaching children i have probably been teaching children about 70 years but was so interested in the fact that last week the holy spirit just nudged and i was energized again with a passion to teach the children here at the city sanctuary uh so therefore we want you to bring all your children your grandchildren your neighbors children's children and bring them to either of our services at 9 30 or at 11 o'clock on sunday morning we are confident that they're going to have a great time and that they're going to learn a new experience about jesus christ yes i agree with that entirely and we're excited about what we'll be bringing we're going to be dividing the kids into groups and teams and we're going to be offering competitions prizes and an end of the summer party where they will gain rewards and prizes individually another thing that we want to be sure and bring up today is that we're looking for adult volunteers if you too perhaps have a gentle nudge of the holy spirit to serve in this capacity alongside of us we are very interested in hearing from you and we would work with your schedule depending upon how much time you have to volunteer we're going to be looking for group and team leaders mentors follow-up breakdown set up and if you could only volunteer once a month we'll take that or if you have the ability to do a specialized ministry every week we are so interested in hearing from you as well so we want you to pray for us for the next couple of months that god will just do a work in our children's lives so if you have that nudge and feel energized to help us you was powerful praise god we are not ashamed right just checking we can't allow cultural pressures to make us conform that goes against biblical truth right is this mike on all right praise god i know all of you are wanting to get to your meal and your celebration and boy there were some firecrackers in deland last night absolutely there were some firecrackers going off it's a different kind of celebration last year you know everything was shut down and so we're just getting out and getting back to our raucous celebration of freedom and independence and yet it seems a little strange seems a little bit a little bit different we still have political issues and we still have racial division we still have strife but yet we are not ashamed of the gospel of jesus christ [Music] so god is doing a work and we're going to try to find that work today in this message one nation under god from the book of acts chapter 17. if you can read it on the screen or you want to pull up your device or you have you have your bible [Music] paul is preaching at mars hill which was the wisdom center of the day and he said about god and he has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on the face of the earth and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwelling so that they should seek the lord in hope that they might grope for him and find him though he is not far from each one of us from one couple came all the nations and god predetermined the times and the boundaries those nations should serve him in you say well pastor all the nations are serving you well we'll talk about that right now the most important thing is is our nation is our nation serving god and are we serving him the purpose was god put them out there to grope for him to look for him to feel for him in hopes that we might find him because in finding him we will find abundance and freedom and blessing god has blessed america he has shed his grace on us join me in prayer today father we just ask for your anointing in these few minutes before we take communion at the end of the service and we make a new covenant with god for our nation for ourselves we just pray that today in this july 4th celebration sunday service that you would speak to our hearts amen and god your word would find a lodging place good soil that we would receive what you will give us today and that we will cause it to bear fruit lord save anyone that's unsaved under the sound of my voice today lord may they if they've groped for the purpose in life may they find you today may they find true liberty if they backslidden away from you god as sometimes we do may you draw them ever nearer to you today knowing that you are the answer and the solution for all the problems that we face to god be the glory may christ be magnified in jesus name we pray and everybody said amen amen and happy fourth of july to all as we look at two subjects today before communion one is one nation the second is under god one nation under god look at that's the message that god put on my heart to share with you this morning i have been preaching messages about our nation for over 35 years i have over 100 messages in my files at home you ought to see it my wife loves it that's a joke some would call me a pack rat i just call me a preserver of the oracles of god [Applause] but when i came to this time i was just instructed to do something completely different and then there's a there's a word for our nation that i think god has and he's blazing across pulpits across our nation first of all is the message of unity we have so much division we look at division we know that we have political division we have racial division still we're battling and moral division about what kind of a nation we will be and what does it mean to be an american today political scientists have basically come to the place where they have said that this according to them and their research is the most polarized time in our nation's history except for the time of the civil war that according to reuters poll one out of every six americans have had to discontinue talking to a friend or a family member because the discussions around those topics of politics racism and or moral or morality has divided them to the point of hostility boston college has done research and their research says that there is a motive attribution asymmetry in our country well you'd expect a college to put it in words you couldn't understand right what they basically mean is that most americans feel like what they share in ideology is out of a heart of love for our country but the people that oppose them they feel are out of hate that is that we feel like what we're saying is is that of love for for the country but someone else who thinks differently we think they are just hate mongers and that's what the world largely thinks about the church they go on with research to talk about how that used to be in 1960 that only five percent of american parents were disappointed if their child married someone of a different political party but today 40 parents said they would be disappointed if their child married someone of a different political party 93 percent polled said they feel exhausted with all of the drama in politics racism and morality battles two-thirds say they feel stressed about america's future two-thirds say they're not sure what's going to happen in our country 60 say they feel that this is the lowest point in american politics that they've ever witnessed and 70 percent say that in the end of all the drama it's the citizens that are going to suffer like the african proverb when two elephants wrestle no political pun intended with the elephant when two elephants wrestle it's the grass that suffers the most and so it is that the grassroots of america american citizens seem to be suffering in all of the fray with the fallout and all the mental health issues that have arisen in our day and time i want to point you to the fact that this is not the first battle that americans have had with unity in fact if you go to 1765 again just probably 10 years before the first shot was fired in the american revolution you'll find that even american colonies were already in division about what should be done about their oppressions from great britain and you'll find that there wasn't 10 years before the revolution began there weren't very many who were in favor of revolution it was the sons of liberty who who basically got people riled up with the boston massacre and the boston tea party and various things and as they got people riled up when the revolutionary war began that there was only one third of the american colonies that supplied anyone to fight in the revolutionary war so two-thirds were either loyal to great britain or they didn't know what to do and they were pacifists so there was internal struggle only 52 people signed or coke and spirits signed the declaration of independence that'll tell you something but when we look at that internal struggle we also can see that in 1776 as we were declaring our our independence from great britain it was again three men that would come together and they would try to uh benjamin franklin and thomas jefferson and john adams that would come together and try to put together unity in our country so they came up with a a seal that seal is on the screen and the seal basically had the words of latin e pluribus unum they chose words from another language in another culture in order to show that americans were a nation that of people that were drawn from diversity they were drawn from a diverse background and yet uh that phrase e pluribus unum means out of many one out of many one that out of the various backgrounds that we come from that we would somehow become one jesus talked about this oneness in in john chapter 17 that this oneness that he prayed for five times in that chapter before he would suffer and die and then be raised again was not a oneness that we all think the same no just like the first corinthians 12 and 20 that the body of christ even though it has many different members it is yet one body that basically what these founding fathers were trying to say is that yes we can have differences of opinion we can come together from diverse backgrounds but yet we are going to be made one through our common new republic for our common new ideas about how the world can be governed in a better way that we want to form a more perfect union out of all of our individualities we look at that whole thing we know that america has had several challenges with division we can't be we'd be here all day to talk about all of them wouldn't we but we know that there were some big ones that were resolved uh not resolved but there's some big ones that really ended an assassination trauma that brought a further unity with regards to what was going on in our nation abraham lincoln with again the civil war and how that after he was assassinated that that assassination would cause there to be greater fervor to to free slaves and having a true emancipation uh of proclamation but we know that jim crow laws and other things persisted and we know that a hundred years later martin luther king was persisting for a dream to have all people created equal treated equal and then he was assassinated but yet that caused the 1964 civil rights act and it caused there to be an even greater movement toward what we know to be true from the will and the word of god that we are from one person that we are all one race right and we are all to love and treat one another in equality when we look at war sometimes war whether it was pearl harbor that would cause all of us to quit fighting against each other and would fight against the common foe uh when that uh event took place or whether it was 9 11 or it was other things that took place that caused us to stop fighting against each other and to face a common enemy the bible tells us that we have a common enemy in the devil that the devil is the one who tries to not only tempt you but he tries to rule the nations he is the prince of power of the air in this economy so he tries to uh as daniel found out he is one who keeps uh there from being prayers answered sometimes and he had the control of god's people there in in babylon that he was not going to let go but god would reveal to daniel that yes god is going to make sure they get let go and they go back to fulfill his plan in the holy land and rebuild the temple et cetera et cetera because again like the mario said if god is in it you can't stop it amen and god in his sovereign power is going to work as we call upon him to do what he has asked us to do but when we look at what unifies americans nothing greater uh than spiritual life or religion yes we get unified many times through a war in the war of 1812 there was such a political protest from the new england states against the south that it was one of the greats they threatened secession that they were going to leave the the american colonies in the united states at that time but yet there was so much uh unity that took place right after that severe uh strife in their country that the president james moreau who was re-elected in 1820 got every single electoral college vote but won and the person that didn't vote for him basically said i think that only george washington should get a unanimous vote so that's why i didn't vote for you to be president it's amazing to have a president get all of the electoral college votes can you imagine that that seems incomprehensible today but there were periods of great unity in this country as well as there are periods of great division jesus said that a house divided against itself cannot stand and even though we are going through all that we're going through as a nation in division let me remind you of the greatest common denominator greater than trauma like these assassinations that brought us greater than war which focuses on another enemy but the greatest thing that has brought us unity in our country according to sociologists has been the religion of america and particularly the christian belief of americans in america yes indeed when we look at what happened in our history we have to understand that it was in 1734 that the first great awakening took place in in the colonies jonathan uh uh jonathan edwards preaching centers in the hands of an angry god told them in a time when there was a halfway covenant a halfway commitment that god's gonna judge you for that that you you want america to be to be blessed you're going to have to change your commitment to god george whitfield would come from from england and begin to blaze across america preaching the gospel and there will be 25 to 50 000 people that'll be converted in a time when there's very little population in new england area it was an amazing uh one out of every five were converted to christ an amazing awakening that gave birth to our american revolution where the university of houston says that 94 percent of our founding fathers quoted directly from the bible newsweek magazine said that the bible more than our constitution was america's founding document how did that happen it came through a move of god it came through a great awakening but god didn't abandon us no god shed his grace on us and boy have we ever needed it well the second great awakening would take place at the turn of that century from 1795 to 1835 and in that turn of the century there was the rise of evolution the rise of secularism rationalism and america was losing her faith but yet there was another great awakening that would take place in the cane ridge revivals in in kentucky that spread to other states in our nation how that there would be great moves of god and people would fall on the ground they would shake uncontrollably under the power of god and even methods would have mourner's benches where people would come to the front and they would shake under the conviction power of god as god began to move in the nation once again and there was charles finney as an advantage that would blaze the trail again a lawyer that god would save you know god's in that praise god when he says the lawyers to preach the gospel right that's a little joke but you know all that being said there was another second great awakening that again god moved in a third great awakening also took place in the 1850s to 1895 and then that great awakening we found prayer prayer began as you know in 1857 in new york city where in new york city come on anybody hear that and they might as well say las vegas right well in new york city that there was a one guy jeremiah lamphier who who basically was the kind of caretaker of an abandoned church in in downtown uh uh new york city and he opened it up for prayer and uh first there came six people and then then there came 20 and then there came many more thousands would come it would bleed over to other states and other cities where a prayer movement at 12 o'clock noon when we're ready to have chick-fil-a chicken nuggets and all the various fast food that american eats no they were saying no i'm gonna go and pray in the house of god i'm telling you that god had to be in that and the fact that he was he was doing something to help us recover from the civil war and to help us enforce the liberty that we were giving to the slaves oh it didn't happen but he was still trying to do his best to do that and so we look at then we move on from that great awakening we understand there was another move of god a great awakening that took place in turn of the 1900s when we look at there was also the the great pouring out of the holy spirit that would come not only to the church of god but becoming azusa street and we told that story here before but there was again where god would begin to pour out of the holy spirit people would begin to speak in other tongues and there were 26 denominations that were spawned out of that move of god at the turn of the 19th century in the 20th century and then we know there was the charismatic renewal when there was all kinds of division some of the greatest division in our country politically over the vietnam war and over in the 1960s there was a hippie movement all kinds of things going on sexual revolution riots in the streets right they compare the time that we've just come through to the 60s in our country a tremendous time but yet what happened is god sent a charismatic renewal and there was all the hippies were getting uh saved and now the hippies were getting filled with the holy spirit and there was a move of god in our nation to once again uh move us toward the unity that would commonly uh unite us republicans and democrats that commonly unite us from all the diversity that we have in this country and so god was faithful and this is what it says here in this verse our first verse here talks about from one from one that god has established and made all the nations of the earth it's from one yes deuteronomy 6 and 4 that the lord is one you see when you look at his his uh as triunity there's three but one you understand that god is the author of unity or oneness who's the author of division the devil right the devil comes to divide to steal and kill and destroy so anything that's of division is of the enemy but god is always about bringing unity and bringing oneness jesus prayed the great high priest and prayer in john 17. five times oh that they might be one uh just as i am in you and you are in me the same kind of oneness that jesus has with the father and the spirit has with the son and the father so he wants for us to have with him and to have that with each other i'm here to tell you that ultimately political laws will never achieve the kind of unity that can only happen not by might not by power but by the spirit of god and that's why this nation has to come back to god it's philippians 1 27 that we become of one spirit and we become of one mind it is first corinthians 12 and 20 that we are one body even though many members in particular that we are supposed to be in harmony and unity with each other and in our nation we're supposed to in all the debates and all the things keep in unity in harmony because of god being the third chord or the fourth chord and that's in that threefold chord excuse me that cannot be broken and then we look at the fact of the bible talking to us in acts 4 and 32 that they by the spirit had one heart here in our text in acts 17 and verse 27 he said this is the purpose of the nations that they might seek the lord as they grope for him that they might find him because it is only when a nation finds him come on somebody it's only when a nation stays committed to him that they have the super natural ability of the oneness and the unity of god even though there's diversity there is unity and it comes when god founds a nation it comes when the people of that nation continue to seek after him and it is now our mandate it is our calling i've heard it all over the church world god has awakened people to pray for another great awakening to happen in america it's time it's time it's past time we have got to realize that the division is from the devil he wants to destroy this purpose of this nation but god is greater than him and god's kingdom will prevail if the church of god will call upon god and say as it is in heaven so it be upon the earth come and reign king jesus no king the king jesus oh god send us another great awakening on the prince oh hallelujah hallelujah to his name so we have to understand that the first great awakening gives us a seed of what we are to do we are to continue to pray for further great awakenings somebody say amen amen i'll tell you i've been past these slides but let me get to this one facts you may not know about america you think you know america well let's see how much you know about america did you know that one out of every eight people in america has worked for mcdonald's not maybe a glorious fact but did you know that apple has more money than the u.s treasury i think we all knew that right i think we all knew that did you know that in montana there are three cows for every one person so if you don't like people move to montana right did you know that one american consumes the same as 32 people who live in kenya you're blessed i'm blessed did you know 27 of americans don't believe that we landed on the moon i'm just saying did you know that americans eat 100 acres of pizza and 22 million chickens every day inquiring minds want to know did you know that the government archives every tweet that you ever send well let me tell you that it's the lord who's keeping track of what every nation is doing we look at the nations and why god even made nations we have to just look at the book of genesis first of all the hebrew word for nations is and that is a word that's used some 556 times in the old testament in the greek ethnos 164 times the new testament so there is plenty of references to nations what's their purpose today we know there's 195 nations in the world 193 that are part of the united nations but in genesis chapter 10 you'll find the table of the original 70 nations that god created now why did god create nations anyway good question glad you asked we look at from the creation of adam until the flood there were 16 centuries where there were no governments none recorded what we see is that basically it was man basically living by the oracles passed on from adam and his righteous seed uh because adam uh well there would be noah would live even into the time of the tower of babel so there was this righteous passing on and you look at the table of nations you'll find a descendant there hashem was eber ibr was the root word for hebrew and again abraham was a descendant of shem you'll find that in that righteous seed there was a passing down of the oracles of god there was a passing down even though no formal code it seems to be was was uh available like it was under moses in the ten commandments and so forth but yet people got progressively progressively worse worse than that what they disobeyed god they got away from his law and whenever there is a spiritual backsliding there is always moral depravity whenever people fall away or when a nation falls away from god then you can find that there's going to be moral depravity and corruption so this is why the world was destroyed by a flood this is what it came to and that god had noah build an ark and save the righteous seed of god and start all over again but when he started all over again this time he instituted nations why did he institute nations well we look at romans chapter 13 it says in verse one that all government has been ordained by god now we know there are corrupt governments that god would not be in favor of it's the concept of government it's the concept of a of not only a code of ethics that hopefully comes from him but then the might to enforce it in romans 13 talks about if you do evil then you need to be afraid of the civil authorities as god's minister because they will bear the sword to deter evil so evil was what destroyed the world one time god made the earth and he made it good and he made it so that man would tend it and keep it but yet man was destroying it and he was acting evil in the land so god destroyed it but he then instituted the nations so that there would be a preservation of his intended purpose for the earth as well as mankind we look at what happened though with that intention we find out that even though there was moses and shem not moses but there was again noah and shem that were a part of that post-flood generation that there would still be nimrod who was a descendant of ham who would rise up and he would rebel against the command of god god's command was again reinstituted in genesis chapter 9 and he talked to noah about again going out and filling the earth and being fruitful in the earth or he would again affirm the dominion mandate dominion not that it's imperialism to crush other nations or peoples but dominion in that the world was vastly uncultivated right this is what he gave the commission to adam cultivate and keep the garden so cultivate where i place you and develop it so this is getting into the purpose of nations right but here's nimrod who says i don't want to go into all the all the earth i want to stay right here because we're all speaking one language and we're getting the warm fuzzies here and let's just build a big tower so that he can't kill us again by flooding the earth we'll build it so tall that god won't be able to send enough rain to destroy us if we do that and we'll make a name for ourselves not for god but again that was god's intended purpose to make a name for him but no he wanted to make a name for himself and so god confounded the languages he confounded the language and and that scattered them throughout the known world at that time or that part of the world hashem had 26 nations that came out of him these are noah's three sons and this is the table of the nations we'll talk about briefly hashem had 26 semitic nations that came out of him japheth had 14 european nations that came out of him ham had 30 nations that came out of him that largely settled in africa and egypt we look at these nations these 70 nations why 70 well again we look at this this whole progression of what god said for the table of nations then when jacob was going to go down from israel to egypt there were 70 of them that went down 70 souls but the word soul is singular so they were actually one they were individuals 70 people but they went as one or one nation and that is because god set it up originally in genesis 10 for there to be 70 nations so the israel comes down of course you know the fact that there's 70 in the sanhedrin the supreme court of israel uh back in those days there's also we look at jesus sent out 70 right it would represent he was going to reach all the nations all the people groups there's a lot of richness here we don't have time to explore but just understand that god set up the nations number one to evil to have a system of code of ethics which hopefully was his and then also to enforce that in a righteous way we obviously know that nations don't do that uh righteously there's a lot of oppressive governments and so god will allow nations to be a part of the earth for some time and if they do not fulfill his commission then he will remove them nations come and nations go great ones have come and great rooms would go you have some dynasties right now china is a long dynasty but just because they don't serve our god and seek after him they have contributed to the development of different things god looks at nations uh with all of these things in mind and his ultimate purposes when we look at god's nation god's purpose for the nation is number one to fill the earth well he gave that commission in genesis chapter one but he also gave it in genesis chapter nine to fill the earth that is do again let there be the righteous seed to fill the earth like he planted adam and eve now this is an attack if the enemy comes against this that gets really a monogamous marriage because we know from science fall of the science right follow the biology rather that again ma god made him male and female and that is the pro-generation of the human race when we look at then the attack against marriage the attack against uh that kind of a relationship we can see that the enemy if you follow him to the old testament tried to destroy the seed of the messiah so he had from genesis chapter four and five he had polygamy he had uh all kinds of ways to try to pervert the seed that god wanted to bring so i did what he formed a special nation in genesis chapter 12. remember that abraham come out of your your land that you're living in the ur of chaldees which was actually in in the babylon area come out of that and go to land that i will show you i'm going to make you a great nation there's the word again would make you a great nation and why did he form that special nation because he knew all the other nations would not probably keep up his commands and seek him as the bible says so he wanted a nation for his seed the seed of the messiah he wanted a nation for the bible because he wanted a witness to all of the nations about the truth and revelations of god and then he wanted a nation to show his signs and wonders through that in the ephesians around ephesians but in jared praise god deuteronomy i'll get it straight as i quote through the bible deuteronomy chapter 4 7 8 god says that he wanted there to be lifting up of israel so that all the nations would look at how prosperous and how blessed that they were so that they would come and follow the same god that they serve so he had a special nation for that purpose but yet god wanted to according to acts chapter 15 he wanted to draw out of the nations that is now the heathen the the the gentiles when you look at this word in the hebrew and in the greek it's translated uh different ways different times and some of the ways is translated as gentiles or the heathen heathen meaning they don't know god they don't have special revelation but yet god began to deal with all nations with regards to salvation god loves iran god loves iraq he he loves russia he loves china he wants to save them just as much as he wants to save americans god loves everybody and so we ought to pray for everybody to get saved and to accept jesus christ but what we find in god's purpose is that not only was there a disobedience of this idea of fulfilling the earth with godly seed but then also the the dominion mandate what's the dominion mandate i won't be preaching much longer so just hang on we're going to go to communion and uh and and be on our way subduing the earth is is development of science development technology education commerce culture not just rebuking the serpent and the devil yes we think of subduing the earth as you know a spiritual warfare against the enemy and sometimes it is but yet what god meant here is really this word subdue is more of a stewardship it is a development like he gave to adam and eve the commission to keep and tend or develop the area that he placed them in and because america has led the way in that god's grace has been shed on us we look at america we know that we are the leader in the world of inventions we developed the airplane the computer the cell phones light bulbs remember thomas edison and even my mother-in-law's favorite we also invented potato chips that's right and particularly we invented lay's potato chips she would say we also the leader in nobel prize awards and nobel laureates awards we have more than any other nation for breakthroughs in all of the sciences this is the dominion mandate for developing and bringing out of the earth the good things that god has given to us we also as i said possess five percent of the world's population but 25 to 30 percent of the world's wealth nine of the ten largest companies in the world by market cap are located in the united states of america we also lead the world uh with having the largest companies in the world out of the 2000 largest companies america has nearly 600 of them and that means we lead almost double the chinese even though they're gaining on us right we know that but we still are the leader in business and we also have more millionaires and billionaires than any other nation in the world in fact we have more billionaires than the next four nations behind us combined we have been blessed more square footage per person to live in uh 800 square feet per person to live in than any other nation in the world we are indeed blessed the greatest military superpower currently in the world higher education over 1 million foreign students come to america every year to get higher education why is that because we excel we're the leader we also lead in entertainment that's good and bad we have world-class athletes and usually would lead the world in olympic competitions 90 of americans can use the internet or the on the line that's a joke there you know kid online on the line okay never it's not worth it but anyway when you think the next closest nation is 50 that use the internet again americans are ahead uh in the world today fun facts america is also ahead in regards to dogs that's right america has gone to the dogs we have over 75 million dogs in america many more dogs than any other nation in the earth today america loves hot dogs over 2.3 billion dollars is spent every year on hot dogs and i don't know why even though they're good they're terrible for you right we eat 100 acres of pizza a day as i mentioned we are a fast food nation 85 million adults uh we'll eat fast food every day in america that's 37 of our population and even though there's a lot of squabble about the immigration laws that america though leads the world in those that want to immigrate to it over 45 million people have uh immigrated already to america now again forget about all the border crisis and all that right now just know this that this is what that we are the desire of the nations right that people want to come to america the land of the free the home of the brave right so we are indeed a blessed nation today we have enforced that divine mandate to subdue or develop the earth and so today god has blessed america he shed his grace on us we certainly aren't perfect but this is about why and what's the purpose of nations they are to fill the earth with godly seed america has sent more missionaries around the world than any other nation has sent why is god still blessing america even though we are backsliding on him because of all the other things that he gains as a nation on right and then the last thing he engages the nation on the nations that will seek the lord that's in our text today that god has appointed the times amen america has it for 245 years we went around forever 245 year birthday happy birthday to you right uh you do you feel 245 today i don't know but at any rate with 245 years and also the boundaries remember the louisiana purchase where we got an acre for three cents three cents for an acre and all that we bought and doubled the nation's size right that we are also big the third largest land mass country in the world well god did that according to the bible that he determined the time and the boundaries of a nation so it's god who claims that he's responsible for this country whether washington does or not it's god who said i'm the one who determined the time and the season and the boundaries of every nation on the earth so god the nations to fill the earth is to do the earth to seek for god we look at all 50 states and when we were we were in all 50 state constitutions in their original draft all 50 gave reference to god all 50. revisionists and secularists want to say hey we weren't a christian nation and they'll point to you know these people that uh you know had different views and all this but i'm going to tell the name of god almost all of them but if they didn't invoke the name of god itself they use words like almighty in their preambles supreme being spiritual or supreme ruler divine providence south carolina constitution said the great legislator of the universe go south carolina even vermont said the great governor of the universe in their preamble what does that say it just says he says to you and me even now even though there's been since 1776 about 144 revisions did you hear since we began under god there's been 144 revisions hello 144 revisions people trying to change america being under god but even in all that still 60 over 61 percent of the 50 states preamble still say that they they recognize god or use one of these terms to recognize god in their state we still have a majority we still have more in when you look at the polls we still have more people that say that god is important in their life in america than any other nation in the earth unless it may be islamic nation where it's mandated but where there's free choice praise god we lead the world in one other great characteristic that there's more people in our country that say god is important in my life and that i am a born-again believer than any other nation in the world praise be to god praise be the god praise be to god may we be one nation under under under god well praise god i'd like the ushers to come you if you weren't familiar you might want to touch the bed post touch the wall touch the chair on your way to finding the light switch right you would be groping for the light you know it's generally you believe in that area you've heard maybe but you have you've got to find it and you're groping for it so he's referring to your like you said there was a special nation that was the jewish nation there was number two the gentile nations which is all the rest of the nations of the world which didn't have what israel had israel had what they had the seed israel had the bible they had the prophecies the prophets israel had the signs and the wonders so the other nations could just look on and see israel but he was saying that i want every nation to have their own relationship with me i put you where you are i bless you with land mass i bless you with with wealth i bless you with people i bless you but i have a purpose purpose is that you will seek me and the groping to find me the light will come on that oh i have a purpose to fill the earth with righteous seed of god i have a purpose to enforce the morality of what god taught and he developed us in his image to live by i have a purpose then the dominion mandate to develop the people of my nation to develop the things in my nation that need develop for the good of the people because that's why god gave it to us i have to do all that because i found my light i found the lord the one god the true god and his son jesus christ [Music] and then it is this commission before we take our our bread and wine there's a third nation there's the jews there's the gentile nations and third there is a holy nation made up of all of you citizens of heaven peter said first peter 2 9 he said that we are a royal priesthood wait for it we are a holy nation now here's a jew with all the pride of them being the special nation he said no no now the jews serve a purpose yes god will fulfill this purpose for them but now there is a new nation and it's a holy nation of everyone that has accepted jesus christ as lord and savior and i have just like in the beginning in genesis 10 i have scattered them throughout the earth so now they're in the semitic world they're in europe they're in africa they're all over there in asia they're all over the world i have a holy nation all over to do what to fill the earth with my glory to to again do the dominion mandate for me to seek me that i might bless their nation yes there's a holy nation that supersedes your biographical nation or your biological nation and it is the nation where he says we are all citizens of heaven we have our names written and we belong to that city we belong to that king we belong to that lord but he has now scattered us abroad like he did in genesis chapter 10 that we might all fulfill his commission wherever he has placed us some of you may not even be in your country of origin but god has placed you here god wants you in america to stand up for god in america to pray down god's blessings for america to develop his dominion mandate and that's why we want to take this covenant meal on july the 4th our day of independence is our day of dependence upon him so today as i turn to luke's gospel luke chapter 22 get your bread in hand if you would beloved when the hour had come he declined excuse me he reclined at the table and the apostles were with him and he said to them i have earnestly desired to eat this passover with you before i suffer for i say to you i will never eat it or i shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of god so he said he took some bread in verse 18 and when he had given thanks he broke it and he said to them this is my body which is given for you take this in remembrance of me take the bread [Music] thank you lord and when he had taken the cup after supper and given thanks he said take this and share it among yourselves for i say to you i will not drink of the fruit one that establishes their times and their boundaries lord you've decided where we should live you place us in this country you place us in this deland area so god we give you praise today oh yes we're here at your pleasure we're here to do your will and so we today we thank you lord we renounce every attack of the enemy in the name of jesus we break every spiritual demonic force that would come against us in jesus name and we declare that we shall be fruitful we declare we shall increase oh yes we declare we shall have dominion in the earth over the enemy and in the areas that you have placed us in jesus name and then lord finally we declare that america shall be saved that america shall have another great awakening happen in it and america shall be blessed of god righteousness will once again come again to america that unity will once again come to america that justice will once again come to america that god you will do a sovereign work once again in america to reach a world harvest for you and to reach a harvest in our own land we pray it we declare it and on july 4th we do reaffirm our covenant with the god who formed us we do reform that this nation was founded not upon just political principles but founded upon jesus christ and today we will commit to continuing the legacy of why you put america here at this time in human history and that we continue to declare that jesus is lord over america oh jehovah is god in america oh and jesus lord in volusia county he's lord where we live and we give you the praise and the glory amen and amen give him one more
