ONE HOUSE TOWN in CITIES SKYLINES

hey guys my name is cine Aiken welcome back to another cities skylines experiment you guys since we enjoying the previous one so much we're back again with another video now this one I've kind of taken inspiration from somebody who's done something very similar to this I believe it's called ruder no I'm sorry open as his name wrong he did a pretty cool video where he created only one house and in this city around it to see how things went and then ultimately you destroyed the whole city which is crazy I kinda wanna take inspiration from that idea and creates a very similar experiment I want to see how things go so what I want to try and do is borderline try and get at least one resident one resident and see how things go that way I want to see what happens to the city I want to see what happens to image for them I want to see what he complains about what she complains about it could be a woman we got a bit we can't assume genders now guys come on please please so I just want to see how things kind of go it's pretty cool map right now and a little highway connection and this is kind of weird because you normally plan a city around you know future expansions whereas this is gonna be its own soul Road which is gonna be weird so I think what we should do then is just kind of create the connection that links the road together and I think I do my trademark guys you all come to know and love roundabouts I know how much you love me doing roundabouts so we're gonna go with that so we're just create this like the basic connection into the city let me just tell me a little snappy grid off so we can get it fairly decent like that and yeah there we go well create I don't think we're gonna need a six-lane highway I'm gonna put that out there right now but I build her anyway I'm build a nice little six Lane let's get back on snappy snap snap grids maps are about here so nice that was six lane beautiful and off this will create our little residential area and bike it's a residential area what I mean is one road for our first visitor so can a city survive with only one resident I don't know there's many things in which we can try and make money like Tories and and stuff like that but let's just playing the long game we're gonna see what happens first so this will be our little residential Road our cray little slit in there and bring it back there I'm a being like that and our little resident can live here so we can do like some commercial or some ministry I don't know what they're gonna do as a job but this is gonna be very very weird isn't it right okay so here we go then we're gonna paint it down now I'm not I've never ever played around with grid sizes when it comes to serious skylines like can a house be built off one low square of pommy wants to say oh hold on yes he can okay I didn't know that I literally did not know that and we're gonna get how many people it's gonna have one household nice it's the Robin residence and they'll come very soon so they've already complaining about water and power which is understandable so we'll start with the water them and we're gonna go for a water teller because that's gonna be the the cheapest way that's noise pollution that's gonna be the cheapest way in which we can get water to the property so what can I place it over here and then we'll hook that up there does that mean yes it doesn't need power right see okay we'll have some beautiful beautiful wind maybe I mean I could place that how much does that cost me eight dollars per week versus $80 per week I'm trying to save money so I'm gonna go with this kind of what was it called again a solar parking just to try and save a little bit of cash money moolah there we go so now we're gonna need some sewage of course we're gonna need some sewage so that's gonna have to unfortunately go there connect that and it's gonna need power too there we go are so little resident in this city I find this hilarious right they haven't made here it is one children one teen and two adults so technically is for four people so we can take on classes is one resident and the one is it's like the one family there we go the one family experiment see what happens so they're gonna come in and once they arrive that's when we can kind of find out what they're gonna do as a job now we are losing money so we need to think about stuff like how we could make money how it's possible I mean we could skyrocket their taxes and make them really really expensive we can do simple things like trying to create so Oh guys we have a car arriving we have a vehicle on the way is this some the Robin residence owner faith Lewis you're not really the Robin residence then are you who are you you imposter I don't know right then finally making their way here oh good me to see what does one family one household complain about versus you know you've got like a whole city and it's like crazy and there's a lots of nonsense a mess they just want everything can anything don't they so you can just see what the difference is gonna be right they're not pulling up there none Carroll Street I think I like yes they've now got out so from what we can see we have water Lewis we have Annabelle Lewis Scarlett Lewis and faith Lewis so where's the weapons there no where are they I have no idea also the time it's taken them to get here one of the children became a teenager perfect okay what does he do for a living his energy energy gate unemployed is she unemployed yet she's also unemployed so they're both unemployed makes sense okay so it also makes sense and if we had a little bit of commercial so let's drop one commercial building and Dan might satisfy all their needs for jobs I don't know but what I will do I drop one square for industry now I don't know if industry and commercial can be built on one skir again because I've never done this I've always liked you know zoned I'm really really big so it's it's gonna be interesting probably not is the answer that's probably the answer probably not it's going to more more power there so what if I went one back one back like that would that be it I mean I've also gotta wait for the demand as well so I'm not sure how these guys are gonna be able to pay their bills you know realistically that is what I'm kind of worried about but let's look at parks now I don't have parks give jobs well these parks in general I don't think they do I don't think they do for a large playground I'm trying to see what is the cheapest one look like a car parking that could be the main attraction that will be funny a restaurant Plaza a little partially ever since it'd only eat french fries entertainment I always want to go us the biggest entertainment 125 oh that they're now complaining about crime are we gonna here for a small playground and we'll place this small playground here they're gonna enjoy that they're gonna love that and now the complaining about crime what crime there is there is no there is nobody else to rob these residents are they rubbing themselves is that the crime they're committing maybe well nothing give him some very very basic police force so what's the cheapest one we go for like a tollbooth finger where's the cheapest one can we get a rate this one 480 versus 480 12,000 12,000 police patrol oh this is gonna be quite interesting because this is gonna be a lot a lot place that there haven't discovered of the commercial of one yeah I have it's gonna be very interesting now because it's it's a lot of police cars patrolling for the city does that mean now we're gonna have them go into work will they work at the police station we're still waiting for one of them to appear outside the house they're gonna come outside hello I don't think they want to know guys but they're not really complaining about anything else so we lose in 1200 a week how could we make some money then let me just check the power finger can I delete these oh no not that one I can't delete that one there we go the old still getting power yeah cool well I saw I need to increase some form of tourism though nice so where's the nearest train tracks and the image train tracks is just over here so why don't I create like a train station that just comes in yeah yeah let's try that so we're placing a train station here now we'll do it a little bit closer than there that's fine I recently get the train tracks now to kind of connect I'm just kind of bridge it up and make it go over this and down other on the other side on theirs I'm on the bridge and back up again in just a moment so their bridge it up can I get to stretch the whole hug just pay a nice little bend it doesn't want to know it does not want to know about the benefits of the bend there we go so ultimately what we do move this then is it to create some form of tourism to come in and add the city it's not gonna be for transport anything like that so this will be fairly kind of interesting to see how it kind of goes well just sort of one of those good it's cheaper than anything else and it's more power to the city yeah okay right so I was thinking then we've also unlucky in the trains will they go work hold on hold on hold on we've got somebody on the move guys we have somebody on the move it's faith Lewis it's the mother she works at the police station she is work at the police station nice nice nice she's the police officer right we're yet to see the father is this him in here no we'll put it back into play so the father is yet to show up is he a deadbeat dad not taking care of his kids his teenage kids maybe could be who knows I like had the police cars just patrolling back and forth that one house yeah it's funny so means they see when a train does arrive like does anybody get off flight for tourism I don't know is there any cheap monuments and stuff that we could place there we could go for like oh we could oh we could do the yeah the archways don't cost us too much do they so we could create the archways into the city there's a nice little tourist attraction hopefully we get some some pretty cool things happening with that so nobody wants to come out no commercial wants to get built this is pretty dire isn't it guys the Robin residence shocked him so should we give the kids at school they are kind of teenagers so do they skip the elementary school and go straight to high school or should I place one of each down I should really just kind of place one of each down shouldn't not I will have a elementary school it will have a high school yeah they're very expensive but it kind of gives them their educational needs now will we see them come out of the house and and go to school maybe after wait oh oh we got somebody coming out who is this this is Walter Lewis this is the father he also works the police station so he must be starting the night shift when the wife goes to work in the day he goes to work on the nights so they both work at the police station that's very interesting very interesting indeed we're still yet to have a train arrived it does allow ya allows in inner city trains yeah we just kind of want to see many tourists come in oh my good god my goodness me hold on Scarlett she is a resident there she's going to high school but we have commercial also beam built to so the kids are not going to school and they will become educated it's gonna have no workers in the commercial because they've chose to work in the police station still Oh No still no trains there's a train on the way down will it turn in where is it here it is are you gonna turn in train no nobody wants to no nobody wants to no rip us rip the dream so yeah when he goes to education then hundred percent and by a hundred percent the for residents that we have why don't you have an educated hmm half wise one of them is sick or dear God but crime crime is good it should be what about fire because I have a feeling at some point they're gonna need fire yeah there is some certain stuff that is a fire risk land value not bad not bad Lygia that's not some nice ledger there where's the tourists one I always forget which one shows us the tourism stuff post offices by maintenance tourism there we go so we have no tourists attractiveness that brings the attractiveness in the city so yeah yeah right we're gonna drop down the essential needs anyway might as well just throw down a fire station I do have this really really good like small Ghostbusters one we can throw in I will pull it unlike just next to the police station there we got a fire station in here and we're also gonna need some garbage needs what's the garbage scene at the moment they're producing a hundred and no 960 units of garbage a week from this family of four who do they think they are right now no idea can I get like a small recycling plant yeah that will handle their capacity really really easy bring gotta worry about that so it's borderline got everything that we kind of need it's really weird to seeing a dead City does that make sense you know I'm going to do is well we create a nice little old path we do a nice little path it's a little snappy snap snap off nice little path I just come down there so they can travel a little bit easier cuz you know I'm so full for like that guys I'm really AM so for like that yeah any trains oh look at the garbage taking care of stuff oh hello who are you you are Oh a garbage truck I wonder where you came from them like you kind of scared me okay so garbage needs them handling it easy easy-peasy nobody educated just yet nobody's moving it's like watching ants at this point it is like watching ants right there's no point doing public transport no point any traffic jams no no no no traffic jams guys right let's look let's go let's go until something happens let's just see what I have movement we have movement who is this oh it's fave she's coming back no wait wait he's faith no and adults huh she's a young adult wait oh they've had a baby they're braiding guys they've had babies and whatnot things are happening right now so favors now okay became an adult or young adult she's don't know any no one's educated who was that who were you Walter Walter Walter Walter going to work at the police station we're still waiting for a train do any train just wanted like kind of just turn up and drop drop off some tourists maybe we should give some more touristy kind of reasons to come here fads in the life of death friendly neighborhood park that would also be a good one to drop him and can I get any like I have to come off this I can't let's just run this down nice little connection going through it standing me beautiful this town is moving beautiful hold on we have empower problems what happened there yes okay we are gonna have some power oh yeah we gonna yep yep I'm on it I'm on it so we're dropping all of these down just because of how cheap they are to run so that gives us now we're consuming five it gives us six nice nice nice nice so that's another tourist hotspot but still guys no tourists who was that oh so meters way into the police station a worker yeah oh we now got two young adults oh yeah I've gone from teen to children all the way up to young adults so we can have another worker somewhere else and where are they working I wonder drinking is like the family's just lights on we decided you know what guys we are running with police services we are now police officers that is our family tradition they follow a long line of police officers at the police offices that's what they're doing isn't it just patrolling yeah should patrol him like commercial buildings no died where's this train gonna come oh here it is here is the Train right I'm interested to see if any tourists get off it do any of them come out well any of them Oh hold on we have two tourists in the city one who is this person here Leighton Clark go into the city arch and we have this one just here she's come all this way to the one resident town to go going to the quiet corner shop which it's this one here which is it she's gonna have a rude awakening when she arrives cuz it is abandoned so that is going to be a lot of fun for you Madame that is gonna be a lot of fun fee you alright it's fast forward then it she's walked the long way she's come a long way it's come to this abandoned corner shop guys she's come a long way for it so don't don't hey appreciate what she's done to get here is that doodsen over here is that somebody else when did this person arrive medium wealthy young adult missing the arch oh wait so number one there it's always have we got can we find out how many tourists we don't respond I'm a person somewhere I forgot how we find out how many tourists that we have in the city I completely forgot how we do that can we not I mean they've got the colors on them shown with it where they are we don't have any at this Park do we know and one of them's kind of in there which I still find hilarious we've just had is this a car raiven - yeah this is a station wagon going to the small playground it's rosemary hunter she's come a long way to come and visit the small playground people are now arriving this is their becoming a hotspot we need more ways for tourists and get in right I've done some pretty interesting expansions right now we got a little harbour down here which could bring you more tourists I've built an airport which is way beyond anything that we exactly need right now right who's this who is now on the move it is is it Siobhan is that how you say that name going to the elementary school is it still lunch yes okay sweet mate we still got people just chillin like strawberry villains you know in there and what not have any recent trains arrived I don't think we have there's still tourists over here and whatnot so we've got the airport down then and we just see where I was on a plane arrives we have this kind of harbor over here whoo here we go the garbage but it's quite far away so I'm thinking to excite things we create a like one of these you know end of line cable cart stop for more finished look you hear that okay so why if we place one of those there is a way of transport around the city and then drop this one over here this would kind of be funny wouldn't it invalid shape apparently what kind of shapes they go for all right bring it all the way down oh this is so far there we go and then we kind of do we need to know we don't need to create a line do we or what's messy does it am i right in saying that I mean I don't know which ones are there we good yeah so it automatically works has that one got water yes so that's a way of transport just to go to the harbor I'm just going to get more citizens not more citizens more visitors into the city I'm losing nearly 12,000 a week so yeah do we have someone working here no there is jobs available though it will be quite cool if it allowed us to have workers outside the region come in and you get the jobs that would be quite cool it's quite a few people have here now the tourism started to build up this is good this could be the number one industry in the city in the tag no in the what would you call it when it's only one per one family living there it's not really a city at anything like that is it no okay so the waiting game begins again for boats and aeroplanes what will arrive first oh it's a plane it is a plane will it bring us any any tourists at all yes it brought one tourist and they're going straight to the friendly neighborhood but they flew on a plane to get to the friendly neighborhood park that's how committed some of these tourists are right now we just wait for a boat don't feel like anyone's coming at anytime soon no just no this is so fun having that person's now going home had enough of the yellow Park there was a little bit rain coming in right now and it's always on this oh yeah to free oh so they are coming just need a boat please can we have a birthing as a boat coming - as a boat coming we're in depth we're gonna go into debt I already have a loan out as well that's the bad thing about it right so we got a boat incoming does anybody get off and when they do will they go straight to the here and get the well is it called again oh the cable-car there we go anybody one person got off and where they go in are they going straight there yes straight on they go are they the next people to move so I assume that they're in there yeah one passenger alright let's keep an eye it's the next one it's gonna basically after these ones here the next one it arrives so we just wait finished chunk of cable carts to to come in it's the next one it comes he's gonna contain our passenger our tourists where is it run away okay it's on the way so actually quite far isn't it so many tourists over here right now love it they love in the archway guys they are loving the archway right here they are they've come all this way by boat and by cable car to visit the friendly neighborhood park tourism is boosting in here okay that one children is now a teen that house is gonna upgrade very soon more job still available yeah we just don't know how many people are working it here that would be very interesting wouldn't it right let's see what we can get in next end so do I push it maybe we get like something a little bit better maybe the Japanese gardens or spice finger what do you think shall we like some sweet sweet Japanese gardens incoming that was spice things up in the little town they're not that far off for upgrading as well so I wonder what will happen I wouldn't know what happened but ultimately we're in a loud debt so I'm gonna have to pull out a loan another loan I'll get these two loans and I want to see where we're getting this money from this is gonna be weird so reacting generating money from commercial even though we've got no workers there we get a little bit income from residential which is understandable we have people living there okay so nothing from these them from these transport now we do have cable car one person used it we got one dollar 20 in return that is what I call profit okay public transport remain 6006 eight dollars I've chosen for public transport see we do get a little bit of money guys but ultimately this town place whatever you want to call it is going down the pan it's going down the pan but it's quite a fun experiment is it guys I think I want anything here anyway some weird stuff kind of has happened it is weird we now owe 60% uneducated so two of the residents two out of the five people who live here are now educated interesting garbage wise we handle it just fine happiness everybody happy I think how one person is still sick we didn't build a medical thing did we we should really get one of those down I should drop one there that's rude treat everybody they're probably gonna upgrade now and I got the extra one in so people shouldn't start being sick about now maybe who knows levels then not really much information there wind traffic we got a little bit of traffic building up guys you're right pollution no pollution noise pollution the residents are completely out of that fires all good crimes all good transport about two people tourists arrived by plane recently nice population it's hard to see where the population is right now but 40 percent is adults forty percent is young adults and 20 percent is teenagers nice outside connections import and export nothing really going Aryan anybody have anything going on Nando is pretty good so house prices will be very very high in this place Natural Resources districts we're gonna accept the bailout right now because we need it we also have leisure leisure stuff terrain Heights hey Tim these guys are called road maintenance is this crazy here's the tourism good good tourism so much good tourism in right now there we go weekly tourists 10 a plane just landed doesn't it yeah let me just do we get anyone coming out of the plane those two planes just landed so I go free people just got off that plane and free people just got off that plane tourism is rising another plane is just known as planes taking off I say tourism is rising we've got all got tourists on that cable card two guys all I can say is right now this is this the hot spot this is where you go if you wanna go on holiday it's kind of funny isn't it it is kind of funny but ultimately it is not gonna work you are gonna lose a lot of money well I would be
