again i want to welcome you all here tonight we had a wonderful time yesterday we got into the word and we studied about the mystery of lawlessness understanding the mystery of lawlessness the mystery of lawlessness is that spiritual dynamic empowered by hasatan to create an environment of lawlessness into which the anti-moshiach the lawless one will rise and when there is no law then he becomes the law and he demands that you take his mark on your right hand or on your forehead or you will be executed tonight i want to talk about another mystery i want to talk about the mystery of righteousness and i want to talk about what yah is doing in the hearts and the lives of his people and if you're ready to get into yah's word are you ready to get into yah's word tonight i am as well i want to invite you to open your bibles to deuteronomy chapter six and we're going to begin with verse one and we're going to be talking about obeying the two shemas of torah the word shema is a hebrew word that means to hear and obey and the first shema that we're going to be talking about is one that is revered by the jewish people it's in deuteronomy chapter six beginning with verse four we're going to read that in just a moment and we're going to get into also the second shema of torah many people don't know that there are two shamas when i say shema i'm speaking hebrew and english i'm making shema plural and so we're going to look at the original covenant we're going to look at the original shema and then we're going to see something marvelous something wonderful that yah has done in that he has provided a second shema and in the second shema of torah we who believe upon yeshua are going to receive special abilities special power to be able to keep covenant with yah keeping covenant with yah is being successful in the marriage yah does not want another failed marriage he experienced a failed marriage with ethnic islam and they did not keep the original shema they broke the covenant and instead of casting the original shema to the side instead of saying they failed at it so now we're going to do something completely different instead yah has promised another shema and by obeying the second shema you are then going to have power to be able to complete the first shema so we're going to look at that as we get into deuteronomy chapter 6 and verse 1. it says and this is the command the laws and the right rulings which yah your elohim has commanded to teach you to do in the land which you are passing over to possess so that you fear yah your elohim to guard all his laws and his commands which i command you you and your son and your grandson all the days of your life and that your days be prolonged and so this is yah speaking through moshe speaking of his commands commanding the children of israel to obey him and if they will obey him then they will be blessed they'll walk in his blessing and their days will be prolonged in the land they are going up to possess verse 3 and you shall hear you shall shema hear and obey you shall hear o israel and shall guard to do there it is hear and obey that it might be well with you and that you increase greatly as yah elohim of your fathers has spoken to you in a land flowing with milk and honey here is the shema the original shema in verse 4 we'll say in english hear israel yah your elohim yah is one echad and he goes on to say and you shall love yah your elohim with all your heart and with all your being and with all your might now the scripture is very clear the way that we love yah is by obeying him so the original shema commands us to obey yah our elohim with all our hearts and with all our being and with all our might are you fulfilling that original shema are you obeying yah with all your heart with all your being and with all your might then we go to verse 6 and i want you to see something really interesting here this is going to tell us that the original covenant is defined by this phrase and you shall and you shall notice how many times we read and you shall in this chapter verse 6 and these words which i am commanding you today shall be in your heart in other words you shall put these words in your heart and you shall impress them upon your children and you shall speak of them when you sit in your house and you shall speak of them when you walk by the way and you shall speak of them when you lie down and you shall speak of them when you rise up and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand and you shall make them as frontlets between your eyes and you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates notice yah saying you're to do the writing we go on look at verse 13 fear yah your elohim in other words and you shall fear yahweh your elohim and serve him and swear by his name do not go after other mighty ones the mighty ones of the peoples who are all around you for yah your elohim is a jealous l in your midst lest the displeasure of yah your elohim burn against you then he shall destroy you from the face of the earth do not try yah your elohim as you tried him in masah diligently guard the commands of yahya elohim in other words and you shall diligently guard the commands of yahya elohim and his witnesses and his laws which he has commanded you and you shall do what is right and good in the eyes of yah that it may be well with you and you shall go in and possess the good land which yah swore to your fathers and then we see in deuteronomy chapter 6 and verse 24 it says and yah commanded us to do all these laws this is part of the original shema to fear yah our elohim for our good always to keep us alive as it is today and it is righteousness for us when we guard or obey to do all this command before yah our elohim as he has commanded us and then we see an interesting command in deuteronomy chapter 10 verse 16. notice what it says and you shall have you noticed how many times we've said and you shall and you shall circumcise the foreskin of your heart and harden your neck no more and so yah put the responsibility of the circumcision of the heart on the people that their hearts should be circumcised that they would have a desire to love yah the way yah wants to be loved and that's through obedience so the question is did they obey were they successful in the covenant let's look at jeremiah 31 beginning with verse 31 see the days are coming declares yah when i shall make a renewed or a new covenant with the house of israel and with the house of yahudah and so we see that the new covenant is cut with the house of islam and the house of yehudah doesn't say anything about the covenant being cut with a roman rooted gentile church if you want to be a part of the covenant you must be grafted in to believing islam that is the only way you can be a part of the new covenant that is the only way you can participate in the second shema of torah that is the only way that you can be empowered to then be able to fulfill and obey the original shema look at verse 32 not like the covenant i made with their fathers in the day when i strengthened their hand to bring them out of the land of misraim my covenant which they broke so it says right here they broke the covenant though i was a husband to them declares yah he was married to them but they did not obey they did not circumcise their hearts they rebelled they committed abominations and they broke the covenant we see in hebrews chapter 8 beginning with verse 7 something similar it says for if that first covenant had been faultless then no place would have been sought for a second this is talking about the marriage arrangement the marriage covenant if everything was fine within the context of the marriage covenant in other words israel had been obeying yah's command then there wouldn't have been any need for a second marriage arrangement all right the new covenant is a second marriage arrangement notice it says for finding fault with them it doesn't say the fault was with torah it says the fault was with the people with israel for finding fault with them he says see the days are coming says yah when i shall conclude with the house of israel and with the house of yahudah a renewed or a new covenant a new marriage arrangement not according to the covenant that i made with their fathers in the day when i took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of israel because they did not continue in my covenant they did not continue to obey my laws they did not love me through their obedience notice and i disregarded them says yah so we see in the scripture we're going to go over to jeremiah chapter 3 and pick up with verse 8. we see that yah actually issued the house of israel a certificate of divorce because of their disobedience and we also see that yahudah committed similar whorings as israel let's read it together and i saw that for all the causes for which backsliding israel we're talking about the 10 tribes that broke away from yehuda and binyamin and i saw for all the causes for which backsliding israel had committed adultery in other words went after foreign deities was not faithful within the context of the covenant they committed adultery against their husband yah notice it says i had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce so yah allowed the sovereign of assyria to come in and to defeat the house of israel and to take them off into captivity into the empire of assyria and they were then assimilated into the nations they forgot who they were they forgot that they were the natural seed of avraham they married into the nations they served the false deities of the nations they continued in the abomination of the nations and again they lost their identity yah had put them out of his house he threw them out of his land and he gave them a certificate of divorce he divorced them goes on to say yet her treacherous sister yehudah did not fear but went and committed whoring too so they broke the covenant as well and yah allowed the sovereign of babylon to come in and take them off into exile in babylon and they were there for 70 years but then they were brought back into the land and so we see this utter breakdown this complete failure in the marriage it is appropriate to say and to see it this way that yah had a failed marriage wasn't his fault but he doesn't want another failed marriage so he's going to make a new covenant a new marriage arrangement that's going to be different that's going to be spectacular that's going to be awesome that's going to be powerful that's going to give his bride what she needs to be able to be successful in the marriage and that arrangement is spoken of in the second shema of torah so let's look at it it's in deuteronomy chapter 18 beginning with verse 18. and this is prophetic it says i shall raise up for them a prophet like you this is yah speaking to moshe out of the midst of the brothers and i shall put my words in his mouth and he shall speak to them all that i command him and it shall be the man who does not listen to my words which he speaks in my name i require it of him this is the second shma of torah where yah is saying you must hear my word spoken by this prophet the prophet like moshe and you must obey what he says and we know that yeshua came as the perfect representation of the father on the earth he didn't come to speak his own words he spoke the father's words he didn't come to do his own will he did the father's will he didn't come to do his own work he did the father's work and he represented the father to the people and so we see right here that yah is saying you must hear and obey what yeshua says you say well how do you know it's yeshua well let's go over to acts chapter 3. and we'll pick up with verse 19. it says repent therefore and turn back for the blotting out of your sins in order that times of refreshing might come from the presence of the master and that he sends yeshua messiah pre-appointed for you whom heaven needs to receive until the times of the restoration of all matters of which elohim spoke through the mouth of all his set apart prophets since of old for moshe truly said to the fathers yah your elohim shall raise up for you a prophet like me from the midst of your brothers him you shall hear you shall shema according to all matters he's the last word on every matter whatever he says to you and it shall be that every being who does not hear and obey shema hear that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people now let's go over to hebrews chapter eight we'll begin with verse six and i want to show you that the new covenant is not defined by and you shall and you shall and you shall but it's defined by and i shall again yah does not want another failed marriage so he's going to do something to ensure that his bride is equipped to love him the way he wants to be loved and that's through obedience he's going to take action he's going to provide what is necessary for our success within the context of the marriage arrangement or the covenant look at verse six but now he has obtained a more excellent service speaking of yeshua inasmuch as he is also mediator of a better covenant which was constituted on better promises in other words yah has made promises to us that he is going to equip us he's going to enable us he's going to empower us he's going to cause us to love him by obedience so that we can be successful within the context of the marriage arrangement jeremiah chapter 31 beginning with verse 33 for this is the covenant or the marriage arrangement i shall make with the house of israel after those days the house of israel this is talking about believing israel this is talking about those who would believe upon yeshua for this is the covenant i shall make with the house of israel after those days declares yah notice i shall put my torah in their inward parts who's going to put the torah in our inward parts yah and i shall put my torah now didn't we just hear in the original shema that you were to put the words of yah in your heart and yet we have a promise right here that yah says i'm going to put my torah in your heart how many of you know if he puts it there it's going to be there i shall put my torah in their inward parts in their minds so they think about how they can love yah the way he wants to be loved through obedience notice and i shall write it on their hearts in the original shema it says the people were to write his word upon their doors and upon their gates they're doing the writing but in the new shema in the new covenant yah says i'm going to do the writing i'm going to put my commands my torah in their minds they're going to think about obeying me they're going to think about loving me through obedience and i am going to write my torah upon their hearts this is not talking about abolishing the torah what is religion thinking of this is an eternalization internalizing the torah getting the torah even closer to us deeper within us it's like we become the ark of the covenant we have the covenant commandments written upon the tablets of our hearts hallelujah and are we responsible for doing that we're responsible for obeying the second shema of torah to hear and obey yeshua but when we do that then yah said i'm going to inscribe how many of you know yah can inscribe his commands on our hearts did he not inscribe his commands on tablets of stone now he's writing on our hearts his commands become deep within us people say oh you're just dragging people off into bondage and our response to that is it's not bondage when you want to when you have his commands written on your heart you want to they're there all of the religious talk of abolishment can't remove can't wipe away yah's torah that is written on your heart hallelujah i shall he doesn't want another failed marriage i shall put my torah in their minds and write it on their hearts and i shall be their elohim and they shall be my people because of what i do in them they're going to be my people hallelujah and then we see in deuteronomy chapter 30 and verse 6. now we read over there in deuteronomy chapter 10 verse 16 that under the original covenant the people were responsible for circumcising their own hearts did they do it they failed at it didn't they under the new covenant yah has made a promise right here in tehran that he's going to circumcise the hearts of those who would believe upon yeshua he says and yah your elohim shall circumcise your heart and the heart of your seed your children notice to love yah your elohim he's going to cause us to love him he's going to do a work in us and that work is going to cause us to love him people say why do you want to obey the bible why do you want to obey those commandments and our response to that is he's caused us to blame yah he did it in us that's how we need to define our movement yah is behind this movement yah has done something supernatural he's done something by his spirit he is causing his children to love him through obedience because he equips his children he gives us what we need hallelujah let me read it again and yah your elohim shall circumcise your heart who's going to do it yah and the heart of your seed that's a promise for your children to love yah your elohim notice with all your heart and with all your being so that you might live now these are the same words that we read just a moment ago in deuteronomy chapter 6. when in the first shema we have the commandment to love yah with all of our hearts and with all of our beings they failed now in the second covenant we see that yah is causing us to love him with all of our hearts and with all of our being hallelujah in essence we're fulfilling the first shema by what he's doing in us and through us now we go over to colossians chapter 2 we begin with verse 11 and we see that the circumcision of messiah is the fulfillment of the promise that yah made in deuteronomy chapter 30 and verse 6. yah said i'm going to circumcise their hearts and notice what we read here in colossians chapter 2 beginning with verse 11. in him in yeshua how did you get in yeshua you obeyed the second shema of torah you listened to yeshua and you obeyed him you believed upon him you obeyed the second shema of torah and you became in him it says in him you were also notice circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands this is talking about the circumcision of the heart in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh and yah is going to empower us by his spirit by his breath to be able to overcome the evil inclinations that reside in our flesh it says by the circumcision of messiah so who is circumcising your heart when you believe upon yeshua messiah having been buried with him in immersion praise yah we got down in that platte river today and we water immersed 23 people 23 people received the circumcision of messiah and they were buried with him in immersion it says in which you also were raised with him resurrected to walk in a new life in which you also were raised with him through the belief in the working of elohim who raised him yeshua from the dead and you being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh he has made alive together with him with yeshua having forgiven you all trespasses now this is a very important point to understand when you submit to water immersion and you receive the circumcision of messiah you receive the want to heart you receive the want to obey but you also receive the power to be obedient again yah doesn't want another failed marriage he's going to do something supernatural something powerful within you to assure that the marriage is a success and that you're able to love him through obedience now let's look at ezekiel chapter 36 beginning with verse 25 notice it says and i shall sprinkle clean water on you and you shall be clean from all your filthiness and from all your idols i cleanse you now yeshua is the fulfillment of the red heifer and that's another teaching but he's the fulfillment of the red heifer and the water for uncleanness and when we believe upon him then we are sprinkled with clean water what came out of yeshua's side when he was pierced when he was on the tree blood and water the blood is to deal with our sins the water is to deal with our uncleanness hallelujah it says and i shall sprinkle clean water on you and you shall be clean from all your filthiness and from all your idols i cleanse you now before we get too far in this we need to make the point who is doing this it says and i shall did we not already make the point that in the new covenant the new covenant is defined by the phrase and i shall and i shall sprinkle clean water on you and you shall be clean from all your filthiness and from all your idols i cleanse you verse 26 and i shall give you a new heart he doesn't put a bandaid on the old heart you get a new heart it's the want to heart it's what we just mentioned you get the want to obey you don't have the want to obey if you don't get the want to heart there's a lot of people in religion they're in religion but they don't want to obey the problem is they don't want to they're in religion but they never received the want to heart to have the want to you have to get the new heart the old heart doesn't want to the old heart is an i don't want to obey heart before you believed in yeshua did you want to obey no you did not want to obey because you have the i don't want to obey heart to start obeying you have to get the i want to heart and that happens when you believe upon yeshua and i shall give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you notice and i shall take the heart of stone out of your flesh what is the stony heart the i don't want to obey heart the heart that rebels and resists y'all says i'm going to take the heart of stone out of your flesh i'm going to give you a heart transplant have you had a heart transplant and i shall give you a heart of flesh one that's moldable and shapeable and makeable one that wants to love yah the way he wants to be loved through obedience verse 27 and put my spirit within you there's the power to right there so you have the want to and you get the power to now that is a winning combination you're going to have a successful marriage with yah if you have the want to and the power to be obedient now what does the original shema require of us to obey to hear and obey were they successful at that they failed didn't they they broke the covenant why because they didn't want to hear and they didn't want to obey and they committed abominations and went whoring after false deities they were unfaithful within the marriage covenant now yah has done something and is doing something in the lives of all those who would believe upon yeshua to empower them and equip them for success in the marriage and that's what these prophetic verses are talking about and i shall take the heart of stone out of your flesh and i shall give you a heart of flesh and put my spirit within you that's the want to obey and the power to be obedient now the next sentence is so powerful i pray that you don't just read right past it and i shall cause you to walk in my laws and guard my right rulings i shall cause you to walk in my laws and to obey my right rulings and you shall do them again when people say why do you obey the bible why are you concerned about keeping commandments you say well blame it on yah he has caused me it's his work in me it was his desire for me to be obedient and i had to believe and submit to water immersion and receive the circumcision of messiah but when i do that he equips me and empowers me i didn't get up this morning to go i got to obey the bible today no obeying the bible gives me great joy pleasing my spouse within the context of the marriage gives me great joy and he's done this work in me so he gets all the praise and we will be rejoicing and praising him throughout the endless ages of eternity for the work that he's done in us because he provided a second schma of torah the first one they disobeyed they disregarded they didn't listen they didn't obey but right in torah we see the second one as a prophecy there's coming a time after yeshua fulfills his mission he dies on the tree he's buried he's raised he ascends to the right hand that every person who believes in him and is willing to obey the command to be water immersed and receive the circumcision of mashiach will receive all that they need to be successful in the marriage to a praise and eternal praise to yah there is something new about the new covenant i understand what they mean when they say renewed covenant it's the same two houses it's the same ten words but there is something new about the new covenant it's the way that yah deals with us it's what he provides for us he commanded them to be responsible they failed and so now he's done something he's taken it upon himself to empower us to enable us to be able to love him the way he wants to be loved through obedience so by obeying the second shma you are empowered to obey the first shema of torah it's not like yah said oh they failed at that that was a bust we're not going to do that anymore we're going to do something completely different he didn't disregard his own commands he didn't say the 10 words are no longer binding he didn't say we're going to do something different he didn't say we're going to start some new religion what he did was he provided within the context of his torah a second shema that in the process of time and due season those who would believe upon his son would be empowered to be able to obey the original shma he doesn't take the ten words and disregards them casts them off he internalizes them in you he puts them in your mind so that you think about how you can love him the way he wants to be loved he writes them upon your heart again you become the ark of the covenant
