welcome to Scott cooks today we're going to be doing a couple New York strips I do like the Angus beef that's what we'll be using a little reflection there yeah but great huh we're gonna be doing some read to scan two potatoes kind of roast in those and we're gonna do all that in our ninja foodie stay tuned I'll be cutting the potatoes up into about 1 inch pieces then we're gonna add them into two cups of water that I put into the ninja foodie we've added the three red potatoes skin on into the two cups of water turn it on and we're gonna do is use the pressure okay so we're gonna hit pressure put on high and we are only gonna do this I want to do it for a minute and a half so I'm gonna set it for two minutes and then a minute and a half I'm gonna do a quick release so make sure you're set to seal and we're gonna let this build up pressure and when it starts to count at one minute and 30 seconds I'm going to release it if not I'll have mashed potatoes and that's not what I want for my steak I just did a very simple cracked pepper and sea salt that's at both sides put them up here on the rack and we're just gonna let them sit here and get to room temperature while we're waiting for the ninja foodie to build up pressure so you don't want to really walk away at this stage when you're doing something short like this you just want to hang out and don't have that much water in here so it's not gonna take long okay away for each pressure if you remember I had this set for two minutes so I have decided to do a quick release at one minute instead of one minute and you have to think reverse here so it's the only been 30 seconds so anyway at one minute mark that'll be one minute under pressure I'm gonna do a quick release I'm gonna use the back of a wooden spoon I know a lot of people use their hand to flip that thing but when you first flip it a big old blop off hot steam comes out and I don't want to get burned I don't want you guys to get burned you safe okay we're gonna let her loose the positive it'll stop my pee right up all right most of the pressure is gone we're just waiting on that little red button there to go down when the red button drops down it's safe to remove the lid and just to keep myself as a reminder I always try to flip it back the seal for the next time when you do pick it up a lot seems gonna come out so pick it up and away from yourself go ahead and drain it remember it's really really hot so be careful where you put it okay what I'm gonna do now is drain the water out of here put the potatoes back in put the steaks on top on the rack and start to cook them the water is out potatoes are back in and I am gonna hit the potatoes with one of my favorite seasonings okay Lille Himalayan pink salt black pepper garlic okay I'm just gonna spread these out a little bit they're nice just exactly where I wanted to get them under pressure that worked out very well now I have try to get this rack and in order to do that we're gonna pull away from the side a little bit you'll see why in a second let's see if we can get that in there okay I've got the stakes in and what I did after I put the rack in is I put the lid down and just sort of picked the whole thing up and gave it a shake now not everybody is gonna be able to do that it weighs a little over 30 pounds but so I just gave it a quick shake just to kind of throw those potatoes back out on the side a little bit let's get to cookin guys for this one we're gonna go to broil and we're gonna do seven minutes on each side probably and we will be using a meat thermometer to help us and I'm not gonna tell you how long to cook cuz everybody likes your steak different just gonna do it this this way for me okay and if everything works right potatoes should be cooked along with it all right the seven minutes is about up I'm just gonna let that timer run down I smell steak I said on Mac that goes to cool we don't really want much cooling going on make sure you get yourself some tongs guys bed bath and beyond probably okay so we're uh we're definitely not cooked all the way through of course but we are sizzling so seven minutes per side probably isn't gonna cut it but we'll see don't forget there's also about a five minute rest period afterwards you gotta let it sit down and just rest and I'm just looking down at my potatoes oh they're looking good down there this is gonna work out pretty nicely so uh royal okay so there he went it done sort of waiting for it good basically got stirred over now royal [Music] there we go seven minutes again so this will be 14 total I think he's gonna need a minute or two more on each side to be the way we like it we'll put our thermometer in after this seven minutes check it out all right we're coming up on the next seven minutes here and we're gonna go ahead and sneak a peek couple seconds let's see where we're at oh now we are starting to look like a steak here very nice very nice very nice we're gonna go always over that is looking good the potatoes are looking good starting to brown down there we're gonna do as well it's still running so we're gonna add two more minutes to it and that's why I wanted to stop it before it counted all the way down to the cool cuz then you have to stop start the whole broiled thing all over again so if you just stopped it with a couple seconds it just suggests to your time I've just pulled these steaks out and I just wanted you to see the potatoes before I remove and look at those nice and crispy and golden brown [Music] okay I've added some broccoli seasoned broccoli did not do it in the Ninja but New York strip steak red skin potatoes done together at the same time in the Ninja foodie if you like this kind of video please subscribe to my channel please
