Well, all of you out there Well, all of you out there
and all of these wonderful and all of these wonderful

I’d mention where they are I’d mention where they are

Well, the question of the Well, the question of the

Anyway, this woman has lost several of her children to several of her children to

What does that mean?" What does that mean?"

Right now it means I have Right now it means I have

Now, and the reason she says Now, and the reason she says
that is that so many people, that is that so many people,
she goes to prayer groups she goes to prayer groups
and she prays all the time and she prays all the time
and she said, "Is doing all and she said, "Is doing all
I do, all that praying, I do, all that praying,
is the road to holiness? is the road to holiness?

She said, "God loved them She said, "God loved them

Now, let’s answer a few Now, let’s answer a few

In the first place, praying In the first place, praying
is a part of holiness. is a part of holiness.
It’s not the whole thing. It’s not the whole thing.
Secondly, the Pharisees Secondly, the Pharisees
prayed a lot, didn’t they? prayed a lot, didn’t they?
And they fasted a lot! And they fasted a lot!
And we know what the Lord And we know what the Lord

And then he looked back and And then he looked back and

He lost it all. He lost it all.
So the Lord asked a So the Lord asked a
question. question.

That means holy. That means holy.
And the one in the back, And the one in the back,
all he could say--he wouldn’t all he could say--he wouldn’t
even lift up his head to even lift up his head to
the temple, to the Holy of the temple, to the Holy of
holies--he said, "O Lord, holies--he said, "O Lord,
be merciful to me, be merciful to me,
a sinner." a sinner."
The man was Holy. The man was Holy.
Sometime a concept of Holy Sometime a concept of Holy
is a little mixed up, is a little mixed up,
I suppose because we read I suppose because we read
the lives of the saints. the lives of the saints.
That’s wonderful. That’s wonderful.

They ought to be our heroes, They ought to be our heroes,
not these crazy rock groups. not these crazy rock groups.

don’t tell you in the lives don’t tell you in the lives

Sometimes I think we judge Sometimes I think we judge
people by their actions most people by their actions most
of the time. of the time.
We say, "Well, that’s all We say, "Well, that’s all
I have to judge by." I have to judge by."
Well, true, true. Well, true, true.
But Our Dear Lord told us But Our Dear Lord told us
not to judge. not to judge.
That’s a part of holiness. That’s a part of holiness.
Now, we’re talking about Now, we’re talking about
holiness, a part of holiness holiness, a part of holiness
is not to judge and to keep is not to judge and to keep
your eyes on Jesus. your eyes on Jesus.
I would say to this lady, I would say to this lady,
you’re doing fine. you’re doing fine.

Why are you guilt-ridden? Why are you guilt-ridden?
Because some of your Because some of your

You were not the cause of You were not the cause of

You were like Our Lady, You were like Our Lady,

That is nothing to be That is nothing to be
guilty about! guilty about!

suffered and died maybe suffered and died maybe

No, don’t do that. No, don’t do that.
Don’t put that kind of Don’t put that kind of

God permitted them to have God permitted them to have
this disease and He took this disease and He took
them at the time it was them at the time it was
best for them. best for them.
You have to look at it, You have to look at it,
you have to look at it from you have to look at it from
the eyes of Mary, see. the eyes of Mary, see.
Our Lady didn’t stand at the Our Lady didn’t stand at the

She knew what was going to She knew what was going to
happen to Jesus when She happen to Jesus when She

your children to the Lord. your children to the Lord.

Her total giving of Jesus Her total giving of Jesus

Why don’t you do that Why don’t you do that

Why don’t you say, "Jesus, Why don’t you say, "Jesus,
I give You my children. I give You my children.
"From the bottom of my heart, "From the bottom of my heart,
I thank You for them. I thank You for them.
I thank You for the pain I thank You for the pain
they had because they saved they had because they saved
many souls." many souls."
Now, you’re not going to Now, you’re not going to
feel that way. feel that way.
It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter.
You can feel good by eating You can feel good by eating
a candy bar, you know. a candy bar, you know.
That doesn’t matter. That doesn’t matter.
The words are enough because The words are enough because
they come from your will. they come from your will.

you really want to give. you really want to give.
You continue praying. You continue praying.
It won’t bring your children It won’t bring your children
back but it’ll keep you back but it’ll keep you

She knows what it is. She knows what it is.
She has gone through every She has gone through every
kind of pain, see, every kind of pain, see, every

And you had a real sorrow, And you had a real sorrow,
just like Our Lady has a just like Our Lady has a
real sorrow or had one. real sorrow or had one.
But Her eyes were on Jesus. But Her eyes were on Jesus.
She kept Her eyes on Jesus. She kept Her eyes on Jesus.
I have a little part of I have a little part of
Scripture that I was reading Scripture that I was reading
today and I want to tell you today and I want to tell you
what happened to the what happened to the
Apostles when they kept Apostles when they kept
their eyes off of Jesus. their eyes off of Jesus.
These men were human! These men were human!
And they’re portrayed And they’re portrayed
as human! as human!
Sometimes our saints, you Sometimes our saints, you
feel they were saintly feel they were saintly
from the age 3 from the age 3

and you lose hope, see. and you lose hope, see.
You don’t ever lose hope You don’t ever lose hope
with these men. with these men.
Now, I’m going to just read Now, I’m going to just read
some of this to you and then some of this to you and then
you’re going to find out you’re going to find out
what mistake they made what mistake they made
because you and I make because you and I make
the same mistake. the same mistake.
Now, we’re in Mark, Now, we’re in Mark,
Mark 6:30, if you got Mark 6:30, if you got

It says, "He said, ’You must It says, "He said, ’You must
come away to some lonely come away to some lonely
place all by yourselves and place all by yourselves and
rest a while.’" rest a while.’"
This is after John the This is after John the

They were depressed, They were depressed,

And so the Lord said, "Come And so the Lord said, "Come

Isn’t it amazing that Our Isn’t it amazing that Our
Dear Lord Himself felt it Dear Lord Himself felt it
necessary to just kind of pull away from the crowds, pull away from the crowds,
from the politics, from the from the politics, from the
noise, from the Apostles noise, from the Apostles
themselves. themselves.
Some time He would get up at Some time He would get up at
dawn and go up a mountain dawn and go up a mountain
and pray by Himself! and pray by Himself!

Apostles, "It’s time to Apostles, "It’s time to

Do you know what a part of Do you know what a part of
holiness is? holiness is?
Going somewhere, even if Going somewhere, even if
it’s in your own, when the it’s in your own, when the
kids are in school, your kids are in school, your
husband’s gone, husband’s gone,

just go a room some time and just go a room some time and
all by yourself and pray. Now, some of you say, "Yeah, Now, some of you say, "Yeah,
my husband’s retired! my husband’s retired!

He goes to every room I go. He goes to every room I go.

What do you do then?" What do you do then?"
Well, sit him down and say, Well, sit him down and say,
"Let’s pray." "Let’s pray."
He’ll either move, He’ll either move,

or go to the drugstore or go to the drugstore

place where there are place where there are
no people! no people!
But the people saw them But the people saw them
going and he guessed where going and he guessed where
they were going and they got they were going and they got
there before they did! there before they did!
They hurried on foot. They hurried on foot.
So when he stepped ashore, So when he stepped ashore,

see Peter saying, "Ah! see Peter saying, "Ah!

They’re here!" They’re here!"
Probably one of the other Probably one of the other
apostles said, "Yeah, apostles said, "Yeah,
I told you they’d come." I told you they’d come."

Thomas would have said, Thomas would have said,

Now, you see, they haven’t Now, you see, they haven’t
eaten, yet. eaten, yet.

put reasons for doing put reasons for doing
something when they’re something when they’re

They weren’t going up and They weren’t going up and
saying, "Master, we’re hungry." saying, "Master, we’re hungry."
They said, "No, this is a They said, "No, this is a
lonely place, Lord. lonely place, Lord.
"It’s getting late. "It’s getting late.
Let’s send them away so they Let’s send them away so they
can go to the farms and can go to the farms and
villages and buy themselves villages and buy themselves
something to eat." something to eat."
Now, I’m sure they weren’t Now, I’m sure they weren’t
thinking of themselves thinking of themselves
at all! at all!
Do you see yourself Do you see yourself
doing that? doing that?

It’s like fixing a meal just It’s like fixing a meal just
for you and your husband and for you and your husband and
he brings home two buddies he brings home two buddies

while they themselves while they themselves

they’re getting smart-aleck. they’re getting smart-aleck.
Did you ever know when you Did you ever know when you

You come home, "Dinner ready?" You come home, "Dinner ready?"

That’s the disposition these That’s the disposition these

Now, the Lord says, "Give Now, the Lord says, "Give

They see their own food They see their own food
going down the drain. going down the drain.
"We’ve got to spend our "We’ve got to spend our
money to feed this crowd?" money to feed this crowd?"
And Our Lord never even And Our Lord never even
answered them. answered them.
It wasn’t worth it. It wasn’t worth it.
He said, "How many loaves He said, "How many loaves
have you? have you?
Go and see." Go and see."
Well, they didn’t have any. Well, they didn’t have any.
They said, five, and two fish. They said, five, and two fish.
So, "He ordered to get all So, "He ordered to get all
the people together in the people together in

Wouldn’t you ask me that? Wouldn’t you ask me that?

Can’t you feed me the way Can’t you feed me the way
I’m sitting?" I’m sitting?"
And see, everybody’s And see, everybody’s
irritable. irritable.

Knowing a little about human Knowing a little about human
nature, I would say 90% of nature, I would say 90% of

thing I’ve ever heard." thing I’ve ever heard."

"Why are we...?" "Why are we...?"

The Apostles are thinking The Apostles are thinking

Here’s one of the greatest Here’s one of the greatest

Scriptures. Scriptures.
They’re almost missing it. They’re almost missing it.

when you’re in a hurry and when you’re in a hurry and

highway and nobody pays highway and nobody pays
any attention to you--even any attention to you--even
getting out of bed in the getting out of bed in the

Here’s another point Here’s another point
of holiness. When you get disheartened When you get disheartened

call out to Him. call out to Him.

Now, you see what this Now, you see what this

their eyes on Jesus. their eyes on Jesus.
Their eyes were on each Their eyes were on each

the crowd, their eyes were the crowd, their eyes were

They had already worked They had already worked
24 hours and now they’re 24 hours and now they’re
at it again. at it again.
See what happened? See what happened?
Don’t we all do that? Don’t we all do that?

want to commit suicide, you want to commit suicide, you
