hello YouTube it is Chris here in today's episode we're gonna be discussing my most recommended survival gear for under $30 so stick with me [Music] [Music] welcome back everybody and thank you for sticking with me like I said today we're gonna be going over my most recommended survival gear for under $30 for those of you who follow my channel regularly you'll have seen two previous episodes where we have actually discussed various budget from the gear items that we use in our packs everyday gear that has come in things we own things we love that we have chose to put on our recommended list now keep in mind we can only throw recommendations on gear that we own we've tested or personally put into our kits in packs now as we go through this list if you want to know more about any of these products please go and check our feet to find their respective episodes or the kit or pact videos the very first item on this list is - for three-in-one eating utensil tool I love this thing this thing has a spoon a fork and a knife all built into one and it's designed to be super slim and compact with the fork that pops out and then you have a liner lock knife now we bring this on every single camping trip and I love the compact form factor and how simplistic they've designed this particular tool the next item on our list is the backcountry kit ultralight buy survival medical we love this kit we can put this basically anywhere we want in any Packer kit setup and it gives us just enough of everything we need for an ouchie booboo kit that is available and useful for long-term storage the next item up is the package by tribe one outdoors we met these guys at prep recon and we were blown away by this simple yet innovative piece of technology it is designed to help you attach a carabiner to any type of fabric whether you are rocking on backpack your clothing t-shirt tarp tent anything like that but we love these things the way they work is really simple you have this piece of plastic that is actually a really durable piece of polymer and you have a carabiner and you attach it right into here through the underside of the fabric and you pop in you have a 60 pound anchor point that you can attach to anything and the best part about it is it's not permanent but it will not damage the fabric the next item up is this hundred-foot hank of ust para tender we love this because we get all the great benefits of seven strand 550 paracord but we get a waterproof durable fire-starting por that's on the innards with this hank only being about 17 bucks for a hundred feet it's kind of a no-brainer but they also sell a 30 foot hanka for about five bucks the next item is one of my favorites for fire-starting this is the for Direction's bushcraft fair rata lead it is an almost 8 inch fire steel with the half-inch diameter I love this thing it's my favorite part about these is it allows you to have a nice good positive grip with just the bare rod of the ferrocerium and you get a nice long stroke for the sparks so you only have to strike this one two three times before you'll definitely get really really good sparks coming down your tinder to light your fire next is the signal boss kit by Stanford outdoor supply we love these particular kits that Stanford outdoor supply sets up from the fire boss fishing and hunting the water boss kits basically all the kids they've set up they are a prepackaged kit but this one in particular is for signaling with smoke grenades chalk glow sticks reflective mirrors everything you need to be able to signal for help an emergency the next piece of kit is from CRKT this is the persevere and it comes in this nice nylon pouch so you can belt carry this bad boy however it is a survival hatchet is a small thin 3/16 finish hatchet that you can attach to any green or solid branch to connect to create a survival hatchet out in the wilderness and it has a few anchor points that come with it and a really nice Hank of paracord that you can use to attach on the fly in the field we tested this out and we thought it was going to be pretty gimmicky because we got into survival boxes box and with the budget friendly nature of the survival boxes we 100% sure however as soon as we bet this thing out in the field and used it and we put it together as instructed it works really really really well is my Maxpedition fattie organizer a lot of you guys watch the video where we actually showed off my 206 piece survival kit but the star of the show was really the Fatih organized due to the fact that it allows you to hold a stupid amount of gear in a very very minimal form factor another really handy item that you can add onto the any MOLLE compatible organizer or casing that you want to connect straight to your belt all these blades and clips I'll definitely drop a link down in the video description for these a lot of people are asking for them and they are kind of hard to find if you don't know where to look the next item up is a budget folder this is the shrade scha 6lv arm I reviewed this several years ago but we just got a brand new variant of it in the Reno streets and survival boxes and it kind of reminded me why I like this knife so much now this would not have been in the under $30 list category a few years ago because they originally sell this bike 67 $70 but now because it's a much older model you can pick these up for like 20 25 bucks which is really nice it's using offs eight steel it has the magic deploy opening system but you have a safety mechanism that prevents you from actually locking the blade which is as an extra layer of security while in use the next item up is my Hydra pack seeker 2 litre collapsible water bottle we love this because one is BPA free but you get a huge water collection bottle water storage container that can be collapsible when not in use which is freaking amazing but it has a nice large mouth so you can connect this to a water filter stick a water filter in there if you need to but there's several connection points so you can keep this secure that no matter what is the water boss kit from San Fernando Supply like I mentioned earlier these kits are freaking amazing and this is one of my favorites because you get a 30 piece water survival kit but it gives you a variety of options from solar stills water filters catchment systems just basically everything you need to get everything going but it's in a really nice convenient package and not to mention all the mylar bags that you easily be used for water boiling and storage next up is this Mora this is the more of 511 you guys have seen this in several episodes and I literally can't get over for a sub $10 knife how much I like this knife and it still holds a frickin sharp edge the only mod we ended up making to it and like you guys saw in the morale video that we just did more it was a more versus like a 1 to $2 knife is we put a 90-degree spite on it for striking on fairness but other than that this thing came freaking ready to go I we love the ergonomics we love the blade it does hold up really well there well even under light batoning tasks I just super impressed next up is this outdoor extreme energy can't be Lantern it I love this freakin thing biggest selling point for me is it's ip68 rated which basically means it's dust and waterproof however it has a lot of good at different modes and functions and as you can see it gets really freakin bright but all as you do how to do was hold up on button you're good to go however you have several connection points would you can hang this up in your tent but while you're out in the field if you have an external battery you can hook this up to a USB and actually use this to recharge however let's say you do have this on lock unless you have a different camping lantern you can still use this as a power bank to charge something like your cell phone while outdoors the next item up is this bushcraft 101 by Dave Canterbury now I'm not a huge book guy at all I'm not gonna lie I will read to become more you know informed however reading for pleasure and learning wasn't big my big strong suit however this particular book I love to death and a spot that I'm out right now is learning how to make natural cordage which is something I don't know how to do very easily and very well considering I live in a semi desert environment where that can be hard to come by so books like this have been able to give me a more well-rounded Center when I'm outdoors and I can take things that I learn share with you guys but also teach my family is this pocket bellows collapsible fire blower and that's what I call it and I love this thing due to the fact that it expands really really long so you're not gonna get your your body too close to your fire but if you have a dying fire you need to kind of relight it so you don't want to have to use any more tender anything like that or just bring a little bit more air and oxygen to the pre-existing campfire you can take this blow right into it and it will put a very directional flame at the base of your fire and help you get that thing roaring and hot the next item up are these fire assist capsules I love these freaking things do the fact that I can put about 40 of these in a pill size bottle just like this which is how they come but they are really small fire starter all you need to do is just basically add a spark and these things will be very very very reactive next up is actually a path this is the see Liam Kim lights this is a 10 pack that we got off of Amazon we love these things and has anybody know who rocks kim lights that has a bug-out bag they are absolutely amazing we love the fact that you can basically snap break shaking these are good for 12 hours but the biggest benefit is if you need these outside of just low life you need a signal for help even a night time these can't create quite a commotion visually from very far away along the lines of fire starting I like to find items that are multi-purpose and multi-use and for me I wanted ability to keep my knife sharp in the field and I know there are a ton of awesome field sharpeners out there but this one is pretty basic it's just to give me a sharp bevel just so I can keep working building shelters doing whatever I need to do until I either come back home or I can probably sharply or anything like that but this gives me the carbide teeth I need however this has a few extra uses to it so they have a nice strike face right here so you can use it for a fair rod so you don't have to wait damage the blade edge or the spine of your knife and inside this capsule they actually have a fair cerium rod built inside so you also have a fire starter in conjunction with your kit the next item is actually relatively new to my channel we've only had these in for about three weeks this is the tip 2017 version from nightcore and I have absolutely fell in love with this keychain light this thing rocks about 360 lumens but what we love about this flashlight is it has a really good set of benefits you get a 500 milliamp battery you get 360 lumens equipped that comes with it naturally elite Lilly just leave it on you can attach this to your hat for hands-free mode if you need to work on your vehicle if your car breaks down something like that but it's already on your keys and they have a mode that is brand-new called the daily mode you just press the power button and the particular brightness you want and in that daily mode it'll automatically shut off just like there in 30 seconds so you're not wasting your battery unless you needed to use it for longer the next item up is an oldie but a goodie this is the corona razor tooth saw these things are freaking amazing and for a while I was a baka Laplander dude all the way because they were like nineteen dollars they were really cheap until I discovered these because these are $19 are really cheap but they are much much much bigger and they zip through wood like nobody's business our EDC firestarters these two in particular come from XO tech this is the Nano spark and their nano striker XL now these are nothing more than just improvements on pre-existing designs but this is a smooth flat wheel that is very reliable in its ability to give you really nice big sparks in a fire starting situation but they also give you a waterproof capsule to store tender if you so choose in addition to this carrying a fire still with you in a very small form-factor it's not the easiest thing to do and still have a useful fire up still because we know as fire sales gets smarter smaller they're harder to control and manipulate and EXO tech has obviously a couple years back solve this problem and they give you this situation where you don't have a huge fire steal but they give you a extension to have a really nice long handle so you can grip this thing very securely and all you're having to worry about is using the carbide teeth in the ferrous cerium to get your strikes the next item up is the pocket shot and this is freaking amazing I know anybody who's been following my channel for any length of time we've covered every rendition of this bad boy but for the basic version honestly they are just a whole lot of fun and we proved several years ago that for small game and hunting you can't hunt things like birds squirrels up to possibly a fox if you just dude you use things like a crossbow bolt or arrows but in the smaller variant even if you don't think this is a viable hunting option these are just simply freaking fun me and my kids actually have a few of these and we play what I like to officially call poor-man's paintball we just drop some paintballs in here we wear some safety glasses and just shoot each other in the front yard and it is an absolute freakin blast well it wouldn't be if I didn't keep talking about knives in a video and this is one of my freakin favorite budget-friendly light duty II see knives this is the toughen life and honestly I have no respect for this knife from whatsoever before I decided to buy it and I actually bought it for my wife because she liked the way it looked she thought it was adorable but I have since basically keep trying to steal it from her because I like this thing so much I find myself using this knife for everyday carries small tax situations and any other knife in my lineup last but not least we have the original emergency space blanket we got this for a go prepared survival and I love this thing I didn't know the difference between this one and the el cheapo cons that have basically flooded the market I know almost everybody has like 30 of these but for me this one is a lot thicker you get a much bigger survival blanket but it's got a subdued layer so you're not flashing your position off to everybody if you don't want to if you're using this for warmth all in all this is my list for week 3 of my most recommended gear for under $30 now keep in mind this is only gear that we have personally EDC tested or had on our channel or owned in love and feel they deserve to be on this list but we definitely want you guys to drop down in the comments section let us know what you think and any other items you're interested in us bringing to the channel so we can hopefully add it to something that you feel just as deserving on a list like this but that is about us for now and if you like this talking point discussion definitely this video a big thumbs up and share this out with your friends and family in your social media networks so we can keep growing thriving and making awesome videos for you guys but that is about it for now hope you guys have an absolute wonderful day
