We're gonna talk about styles, the hits and the misses. Yep.
(audience cheers) What else did I observe? There were very few clips. The speeches were very long. And I was out and about, so the TV was on, but it was on mute. Thank goodness. The company I was keeping, you know, we were all talking and looking, but knew the whole thing. This right here. I love this.
(audience applauds) That's Louis Vuitton. I'm not sure that I love the hair though. I'm not sure. I don't know. Maybe a top knot? I don't know. I'm not sure. But she did a really good job. People were upset that Chadwick Boseman didn't win for Best Actor. They were very upset. Anthony Hopkins won instead, he wasn't even there, but he won. Paulina Porizkova

Uh huh. Now, you know, he's got a bit of a criminal past, kinda sorta. He was like Juelz Santana, right?

That was her boyfriend and he died in 2019 and cut her out of the will and threw her out of the apartment. Her friends had to buy her groceries. That's how broke she was. So Aaron Sorkin's got plenty of money and they're age appropriate. I think he's 59 and she's 57 and- 55.
55? Yeah. So Glenn Close did not win last night, but her doing Da Butt went viral. (laughs) Funny.

She's allowed to do that. So then I got in and "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" reunion started. So I thought that I saw all the same stuff over and over again, so I became disinterested, set my alarms, and lulled to sleep. So the set looks like a dungeon intentionally. That Porsha's got a big booty, doesn't she? All the girls wore black. Apparently they'd worn these outfits, but look at, would you look at Kandi? Dressed the part as a dominatrix. Yeah!
(audience applauds) Okay. And then Kenya and Drew fought. Yes, they, ugh. I don't want Drew on the show. I told you that already, right? I just don't want to be involved. I like her. Why do I have to be involved with that? (laughs) Right. She's from Chicago, so obviously, I got some love for her, but, you know. I don't love everybody from Jersey. (Norman laughs) True, true. And I'm just getting to love people here, at my residence, you know, in New York. No. 'Cause people are shady. Did you hear about all the shootings on Saturday night? 14 people got shot Saturday night in the city alone. Okay. 26 shots all together for the weekend. Mm hmm, mm hmm. What are you supposed to do? You went outside, you scamper to your car, and you dunk. So anyways, so Andy asked Kandi if she ever got her child support that's owed to her from Block. Now look, he's got five children, six now, mm hmm, okay. Well take a look. Did you and Block ever settle the case? Yeah, they basically say he gotta pay his back child support, and so they're giving him some time to give a lump sum now and then he has to start paying the monthly back. You faced a lot of criticism online for pursuing this child support case. Why was it so important for you to get the money for Riley? Riley wanted it. She said that that's her money and it was owed to her. That's right.
(audience applauds) That's right. You know, she goes to NYU. She's majoring in, she wants to be a lawyer, and she lives here in New York. Everything's expensive. I'm sure she's not driving a Porsche around anymore, you know, it's difficult to park. So that means that she needs car service money. And she's the daughter of Kandi. Block, I hope you pay this money, because if you don't, now 'cause the judge is involved, I think you might be arrested, again. And be thrown in jail, again. So the rumor is that Phaedra's coming back. I didn't know Phaedra left. (audience laughs) I didn't know. What am I watching? I had no idea. Phaedra I thought you were there all along. They did have repeats on all day yesterday. So she was on TV yesterday. Oh.
(Norman laughs) Okay. Well anyway, part two airs next Sunday. (audience applauds) How was your weekend? It was great. I had a great weekend. Did you eat?

I always eat. I was a little bit upset, you know, because of the whole DMX situation. But besides that.
Yeah. Great weekend, you know what I mean? I know, I made a trip to Brooklyn. I just wanted to see what all was going on outside the Barclays and the traffic report said that there was lots of traffic. So I told the driver, I said, well, drive into the traffic. Don't stop. I don't want to be involved. I just want to look. And there was no traffic. People cleared out quickly and peacefully, thank goodness. And then they took it to Yonkers and everything was peaceful. Everything was great. And I loved the monster truck with his cherry colored casket. I loved that. Look, I know, right? Well, I only went to Brooklyn 'cause I wanted a Tony Luke's. You know, I wanted a cheesesteak. So I met up with my friend Tess Lon and Slap. His name is Slap for a reason. Anyway, so I met up with them and we had cheesesteaks and you know (laughs) just had fun.
Right. Just fun. So his ex-wife Tashira and his fiance Desiree hugged. And that was a beautiful thing. Yeah.
(audience applauds) And all of the children showed up. Now how many children were there on stage? 15.
15. But then I heard that women are alleging to be his babies mothers, as many as 10 of them allegedly showed up. The kids range in age from like down here all the way up into their twenties. Can you imagine having 25 kids? I, 25, that's insane. Well, rest in peace, DMX.
(audience applauds) I tried to pick up ChitChat this weekend. My girls don't like to be picked up off the ground, you know, but she was on the bed, and I just wanted her to come a little closer. So as I'm telling her to come closer and I'm gently cradling her, she ran across my chest and scratched, yeah, uh huh!

(audience laughs) Caitlyn Jenner is running for governor of California. It's official. Caitlyn is gonna challenge Governor Gavin Newsom, if they recalled in the fall. What?

Governor Newsom, yeah. Well, the state is a mess. Allegedly, reportedly. I'm not out there. I know New York and we got problems too. Too many problems.
Uh huh. So the Kardashian sisters will not be campaigning with Caitlyn. And, you know what? And I say good, because ultimately speaking, Caitlyn hurt Kris deeply. And I know Corey is there and they make a beautiful couple and all that other kind of stuff, but you hurt their mother, Caitlyn. Caitlyn is very conservative, by the way. Very conservative and she does follow politics a lot. Why not run? Plus it'll give us a chance to see her out and about in pretty wrap dresses and kitten heels and stuff. You know? Let's get into the red carpet fashion. Well, first of all, Wendy, I need you to know, that the Oscars gave out a mandate. They said the look should be a fusion of inspiration meets aspirational. No one knew what that meant and that's the reason why we have such a mixed bag of looks on the red carpet.
Okay. So first up we have the lovely Andra Day, nominated for an Oscar, came looking like Oscar gold, Oscar gold.
I like this dress a lot. This is Vera Wang Haute. Now you're not used to seeing a Vera Wang dress look like this.
No. And you're also not used to seeing good old Andra Day show so much skin, be so sexy. Is that all metal? That is all metal. Actually, Vera Wang worked with a welder to create this look, a welder. And they actually used a mallet to button down the seams. Usually you use an iron, but with this, you have to use a mallet to get those seams flat. Now this is a beautiful look, but it's very, very different for Andra Day, as I mentioned, and it's because she wanted to channel Billie Holiday who loved lingerie. And so she wanted to be sexy. She wanted to show skin. She also, her fabulous stylist Wouri Vice told me, that Andra had a dress in her closet that was very similar to this but it was a mini dress and she wanted to wear it. And he said, "Well, baby, we can't wear a mini dress." So they had Vera Wang collaborate and create a gown out of a dress that she was inspired by. And also she was very inspired by sheer. And we saw a lot of people being very inspired by sheer, including one of your favorites, Zendaya, which we'll get to later. But-
Yeah, and by the way, I like her hair.
I love her hair. Yeah, uh huh, uh huh.
Beautiful and natural. Let's move on to H.E.R.
So who's next? H.E.R. Okay.
H.E.R., the baby of the bunch. She won an Oscar last night for "Fight," the song from "Judas and the Black Messiah." I'm so happy for her. This is beautiful. It's sheer. It's gorgeous. It's ethereal. It's a jumpsuit with a cape. And the best part about this, the lyrics of the song are embroidered throughout that outfit. Really?
Isn't that fabulous? Yes, yes, yes. Also Wouri Vice, who did Andra Day, did this look. So he's got range. Love, love, love this. And I thought it was so great that she was also inspired by Prince when he won his Oscar for Best Original Score for "Purple Rain." So there's that moment there. I love, love, love that.
Oh, okay. And she's a young woman. She should have fun on the red carpet. Next up we have-

Uh huh. Now I love this because it was old Hollywood glamor.
I really do love this. Now normally I hate old Hollywood glamor, but because no one else showed up like this, it actually looked fresh and innovative. Also she was nominated for the movie "Mank," which is about Oscar Welles. I mean, sorry, Orson Welles. And so it was very much taken in the thirties and the forties and this is a beautiful, beautiful look. It was Armani Prive, and it's a plisse tulle ballgown, gorgeous. Plisse just means pleats, I'm being fancy.

And it's very hard to wear red on the red carpet.

And it still managed to look really fresh. Next up we have Halle Berry. Halle Berry was looking very berry-licious in this Dolce and Gabbana gown with the sweetheart neckline, plunging, you've given me a face. What's the face for, Wendy? I just thought there was too much material. You did? But look, when she does that. It flows. It's sexy. No? Okay.
No. Let's move on to what people were really wanting to talk about.
Her hair! They want to talk about the hair. Now, okay. So people were saying that she looked like Edna from "The Incredibles." They were saying, yeah. They were saying she had helmet head, who put a bowl on top of her head and cut off her hair. Clearly she cut this hair after midnight. She cut this hair. She put it on Instagram that she cut the hair like in the middle of the day and everything. Now she's got a new boyfriend. She's got Van Hunt, the singer. They're very happy.
Very happy. So, you know, when your man likes it, you can feel like you can do anything. And also Halle can really do no wrong 'cause she's so stunning. And who cares, the hair grows back. Right? Yeah. And you know what? And she's got a really good thick head of hair. Yes, she does. Yes, she does. Now next up, someone who also don't really care what we think, obviously from this look, Laura Dern. Let's get into this Laura Dern- I liked it! No, you did not, Wendy!
Yes I do! Okay, Wendy. It's Oscar de la Renta, oh gosh. And it looks like Steve Jobs on the top. Remember he used to always love to wear the good ole turtleneck. And then it's giving you Muppet meats like Bjork at the bottom.
I love it. It's like so ridiculous. So fussy. It's very show girl at the bottom, business on the top. I didn't love this at all. No one really loved it except for Wendy and obviously Laura Dern.
I love that. So there you have it.
I love it, Laura. There you go, you gave her a high five. So kudos to that. I thought it was a hot sticky icky mess, but she can do it. Regina King, belle of the ball baby, give it up. (audience applauds) Louie Vuitton, Louie Vuitton. It took over 140 hours to make this, over 62,000 sequins are in this and over 4,000 crystals. This is gorgeous. Now here's the thing about Regina King that we should never ever forget, that she, back in the day, was not a red carpet staple, because for the longest time they wouldn't dress her. All these big people wouldn't dress her. Now she can get into any showroom Anything.
And it shows because now she's a red carpet staple. Do you like her hair? I love the hair. I thought it was a nice chopped bob. I'm much prefer it over Halle's chopped bob. So there's that.
Well that is true. But yeah, so, but I love, love love the shoulders. Also made me think about good old Lupita Nyong'o when she won her Oscar and she wore that Prada, what she called Nairobi blue. So I think Black girls should wear blue on the red carpet more often, it looks good on us, obviously. I should be wearing a blue dress. Okay.
Okay, next up, the men, honey. Okay. It's raining men and they're raining in the color and great design aesthetic. So I love, love, love all of these guys that we picked. Like Riz Ahmed. The first Muslim man to ever be nominated for Best Actor Oscar, which is a big deal. You have Colman Domingo in this fuchsia Versace. You have LaKeith in a Yves Saint Laurent look that is fire.
That looks so nice to me. Right.
That, yeah. But the best part? It was inspired by a woman's Yves Saint Laurent look from the spring 2021- Inspired by a woman's look?

Yes! To be androgynous. If we can wear a smoking jacket and a tail, a tuxedo look, why can't he be a little fluid? All right.

Wendy, I have a question. So I'm a freshman in college and I've experienced some criticism from my male peers. Sometimes they'll mansplain things to me and in my field, it's male dominated, which can be a little overwhelming. What do you want to do? Well, it's, I mean, it's becoming a bit difficult and it's frustrating dealing with these issues. So I'm gonna ask you, as a successful woman, Wendy, how did you navigate and how do you now navigate staying on top even when faced with criticism from your male peers? What is your major? What do you want to do with your degree? So I'm pursuing something STEM related, research, something in a mathematical field, hopefully. Well, you need to have a conversation with these men. I totally get what you mean when you say mansplain. You need to have a conversation with them individually and altogether as a group and just let them know that you are in to win, you're very serious about what you want to major in. How you doing? So Wendy, I'm at a crossroads in my life and I need your help. Okay.
Okay, so Wendy, I'm 30 years old, I've been at my job for four years now, and I've been working throughout the pandemic. So I'm super grateful. And I like most of the people I work with. But Wendy, here's the thing, a lot of my friends who are even a younger than me, they're making twice as much money as I am, getting promotions, all this good stuff. So Wendy, I want to buy a house, I want to have kids. You know, I want to get a little filiation of the situation too, Wendy, but I can't afford it. So Wendy, do I bite the bullet and leave my secure job for more money? Or do I have that awkward conversation with my boss and be like, sis, come on now. Come on. What do I do?
And you said you've been, you've been there for four years and you haven't gotten a raise? Just like, you know, a little 10 cents here, 20 cents there, but it's nothing to talk about at all. Well, I would have a conversation. I would present my case. You know, make an appointment with your boss, present your case.
Mm hmm. You know, money is tight everywhere these days. I'm not sure that you're gonna get the raise that you want, but if you're happy there, how do you know your friends who are getting all this money are actually happy? You know?
True, that's true. But I also understand you want to save to get fillers and buy a house and have kids. So have the conversation with your boss, but make sure that you are well-rehearsed, okay? Okay. Yes.

Nope. And they've been going behind my back to do it. Nope.
And, yeah. And when I confronted them about this, they claimed they've just become better friends, but I'm still a little suspicious about it. Yeah.
And I've never had a reason to distrust them prior to this, but all of the secrecy has me a little concerned. So my question for you is am I overreacting here or am I right to feel suspicious? No, you're right to feel suspicious. How dare they hang out without you and sneak around and do it. How old are you, honey? I'm 18.
Oh, please Leave him alone. And by the way, will she still be your friend or are you planning on dusting both of them? That's fine with me.
I don't know. I mean I had planned to like room with her and everything. She's one of my best friends. So it's a little complicated. Well, I say keep her dump him. But then they'll still be friends behind your back. See, when you dump her, or dump him, then all of a sudden you're gonna wake up on a Saturday morning, he's gonna be in the kitchen, swigging out of the orange juice. You know? True.
It's hard. But I say dump him and have a very, very stern conversation with her. Okay? She's not allowed to be his friend anymore. All right.

How you doing? Well I'm a business owner and I work pretty much around the clock. And, as you know, that means that, you know, a personal life can go by the wayside, which is often a huge turnoff for guys. I often hear like, when are you gonna slow down? When can you stop traveling as much so we can spend more time, the whole night, and I've worked really hard to get where I'm at. So when is the appropriate time to say like, I'm not changing?
First date. First date. That way he's not in for a shock. Don't talk all about your career, otherwise you sound like a boring business woman. You know, you have to be romantical and bat your eyes and stuff and giggle. But I think it's very, very important that he understands that this is what you do. You worked very, very hard and you're not about to give it up for a man. Not now. So, and by the way, maybe if you date an older gentleman as opposed to some, how old are you, like 35? 38.
Yeah. Maybe if you date like a 45 year old, maybe he'll be more understanding because he's busy as well. But then you get into the complications of if he has children and, do you have kids? No, and I don't really wanna have kids either. So if he had kids, that would be fabulous. Okay. Well make that announcement the first date as well. Good luck! Yeah, thank you!
