hey what's going on guys brandon here with texas plinking some of you guys may have seen this on instagram and even youtube it just wasn't complete yet and you guys were asking why i have not made a video with it well it turns out doing a suppressed m1a build is quite an interesting and long endeavor but i figured it out and now it's here and it's complete i was on gun broker just kind of messing around just taking a look as i always do and that ends up costing me some money i ended up finding this chassis this is a sage international ebr chassis as you guys might know if you're into guns but it's actually kind of a rare bird when it comes to chassis i was not aware of it but this is something called the dot matrix they were all finished in what's called navy seal gray and what it was was like a development chassis and the difference with them is they have this little extension here usually the quad rail starts here and it's shorter this has this little bit of an extension so the actual whole chassis and handguard if you will if you want to call it that is longer than a standard one and i didn't know this they only made 25 of them that said i was watching that auction on gun broker and i put my crazy number and uh and i kind of walked away try to forget about it and sure enough i won paid a decent amount for it but i mean they made 25 you know what whatever on one hand i kind of regret showing you guys stuff that's very rare but on the other hand i spent some money so i got a flex this is an m1a from springfield armory scouts what's an 18 inch barrel it came in a black synthetic stock uh ditched that pretty soon to drop it in here the threads are not already threaded for the 5 8 by 24. whatever it is i forgot but there's a thread adapter that's only part of the story if you're going to suppress it it changes the dynamics of the gas a lot so you have to get the schuster adjustable gas plug got that and then the navy cylinder gas cylinder lock whatever yeah i've already forgot this is an arkan optics ep4 6 to 24 by 50. uh immature i uh picked it because i thought that off kind of gray color graphite gray would kind of look cool with the whole navy seal gray thing going on six to 24 for an 18 inch barrel 308 762 by 51. it's a bit much not totally necessary but uh i do like the scope just to give you a quick rundown six to 24 by 50 34 millimeter tube first focal plane awesome reticle and they can be had for about 599 bucks this is on a sage mount here so it kind of mounts on this rail and gives me a lot of railing to go back here so i don't have to you know do anything too crazy there so anyway if you guys are interested in that scope i'll put a link in the description they really upped their game their packaging is awesome everything about it give you like a little carry bag for some accessories um their lead time was the reason that a lot of people kind of steered away from them they used to be a lead time of ten weeks out now they're about four weeks uh so it's down quite a bit they have moa and mills this one here is a mill scope like i said might be a little overkill for the setup but you guys let me know i think it looks pretty darn okay gassy all right i put a personal watermelon on top of a pound of tannerite so this should be fun before you guys say it let me be the first to say that there's better ways to get a semi-automatic suppress 308 for medium to long range dumping it a real quick five rounds and even shooting it slowly the gas blow back that uh i get to the face it's kind of brutal i'm not gonna lie i tune this adjustable gas plug to where it's honestly only reliable suppressed it's that detuned for efficiency sake and even more accurate more often than not i would say an ar-10 with an adjustable gas block is a better choice honestly for nearly how much money i have into this rig right now a scar 17 this setup to me is the equivalent of a resto mod i'm asking this older design of the m14 or m1a to do something modern which is to shoot at range and suppressed so with that said it is like a resto mod you have something older with some modern componentry to help it out some and what you get is something that is not as pleasant to shoot not as accurate not as well efficient in general as some modern piece but uh damn you look good shooting it and it's a lot of fun [Music] [Music] um i've got seven rounds of subsonic ammunition loaded up in here i'll be willing to bet my life this thing does not cycle semi-automatic so we're just going to run the bolt our self but it should have next to no recoil and uh pretty much no sound wow i know for a fact that bullet would be dropping heavy so we're only about 40 yards out wow i don't know when you would be needing something like that it's going to drop like an absolute rock but uh just for a show off uh range day show your friends how quiet something like this could be pretty cool all right let's go to something a little bit more loud this is the socom 16 came out of the box with a 10 round mag that's very very cute but we're going to go and run a 20. oh that looks better this has the same synthetic stock that one came with we have like the scout style rail up front but other than that we have a ghost ring rear and these irons are really cool xs sights went in with uh springfield on this one you have got the three prong with the middle with the white paint and then tritium insert so pretty decked out i like that setup oh man that's a thumper man it's easy to find the side picture with us even with that wide ghost ring gosh darn it a standard out of the box scout squad though is just a stellar stellar rifle um so that's kind of why i wanted to go that one i got this one first i knew i was going to make it into this but while i had the scout squad with that stock i i knew that was a cool setup too so that's why i wanted that one as well okay but with this the dot matrix sage ebr chassis kind of a rare bird um i'm glad i get to have one i love the look here if you want to run an m1a unsuppressed with the sage chassis i honestly i think you'll be a little happier if i'm just being honest but there are style points to running a m1a ebr suppressed you don't see it that often and it's probably just because it's just not as effective and honestly shooting comfort not 10 out of 10 but style points 10 out of 10. so i've already kind of touched on that and then the arkhan scope i don't know if this is this rifle is going to be this scope's final resting point i kind of put it on here because i thought it would look cool with the gray and i think i'm right but ultimately probably like a two to ten on this thing would probably be better suit but this is the ep four six to twenty four four five ninety nine one of the better values out there i forgot to mention if you use the code texas plinking you get free shipping i believe you already get free shipping if the order's over 200 but that ensures that if you're only going to get a mount but if you use the code texas blinking you also get enrolled in a scope giveaway with arkhan that's every month and if you win you can either get refunded your scope purchase or uh you know get a new scope so whatever you choose but yeah i have that this exact same scope uh on a couple of different uh rifles i have three of them now and i like it that does it for this one thank you guys so much for watching catch you guys next time take care [Applause] so you
