Mastering Baldur's Gate 3 Mods: FAQs, Fixes & Vortex Manager Guide!

playing borders Gate 3 with mods used to be an unattainable dream and as you guys know in Early Access we literally had the time of our lives playing with all of these amazing mods which range from hair clothing face presets and it really made you immerse yourself even more into the game and now that the game is out and it's been fully released there's so many things to explore and the modding page has changed so much since the last time that we've seen it and I'm going to be answering frequently asked questions in regards to modding and where I think modding will be for us in the next months coming up ahead which is really really important considering the fact that the borders Gate 3 Community is growing every day rapidly with new people new mod Waters knew everything and I also feel like in September is going to be even bigger because it'll be out on PlayStation 5 and other consoles so this is just going to be a process in which we need to be a little bit more patient but when it comes to downloading mods the number one question that I get asked all the time is where do I even start to download mods and the platforms that are currently available now is Nexus mods or patreon okay guys so this is Nexus this is what it looks like um as you guys know we talk about this website a lot on my channel um Nexus has a great community of modders and so if you're interested in any of this then this will be the place to be please keep in mind that you need to be 18 plus I cannot stress this enough to access these mods because some mods are very very inappropriate your discretion is advised all right so now that we got all of that out the way you're gonna need to go ahead and start setting up your account with Nexus and then you need to go ahead and get the vortex App Manager this is so important I cannot stress this enough because you are going to need this app this app is fantastic I Rave about it because I find that beginners have such an easier time just getting into the tutorial and being able to get towards the mods and everything and it's so easy because it's just click and go you don't really have to worry about anything especially now because now when you load it up and you add voters Gate 3 into your Vortex mod manager everything just kind of like loads up super easy and I have two videos I have a short one and a long one on my channel and now this is the recent updated one for you guys but as you can see the ls lip 2 was already in there without me even having to go Outsource and look for links and everything like that but make sure you have all of the requirements that's on the screen because now I'm going to show you guys how to download tabs hairstyle you also can use the boaters Gate 3 mod manager everything is linked below so if you guys want to check that out you can as well all right guys now this is really the fun part downloading the mods is really the fun part I honestly will say so the first thing we need to do is go browse all files we need to go to games we're going to border Skate 3 and now we can type in the name of the file or the mod that we're trying to download I don't know why I keep saying file but it's tabs hair salon so boom when we get here the first thing I highly recommend this is this goes for any mods look at when it was uploaded and when it was last updated because a lot of times people try to go back and they try to get mods from Early Access and there's like all these issues which I will talk about later on in the video but as you guys can see this was literally updated yesterday so we are good and then you want to go ahead and look at the requirements for this mod the modder has required that you have all of these things this is actually incorrect it is not kitten tell stylus Multiverse it is another one I will put all the correct links down below so that way you guys don't have to go do what I went through you do need the patch 3 mod fixer and you need improved um UI release ready so these are all the things that you need so now we're just going to go ahead and get ready to download as you guys can see we have a choice between manual download and mod manager download um for all of the mods on here you'll have these options where you could just click manual or Vortex it doesn't matter where you click this just shows you like more additional information that you need to know so as you guys can see it says only for drow have elf elf human tiefling body one and a few for two so only certain hairstyles will look good on certain body types and vice versa right and you're also going to download the auto snap hair pack and this is for all body types which is amazing so once you get that downloaded you're pretty much all set right so yeah what I do is I just click Vortex and it sends it right to the app and I don't have to worry about anything so let's go ahead and move on to the next step already so we have all of our mods and they have been installed correctly we have our Ellis lib Divine tool here we have the latest edition and then we also have our Apache 3 mod fixer is also in there we have the the the correct kitten tells stylish Lumia patch which is required in order for tabs hair salon to work like I said before everything is listed down in the description box we also have the auto snap so that way we can have it on our buff bodies and yeah this is super fun so the last thing we need to do is to actually make sure that these mods are working correctly you always want to check this because you do not want to have any issues yay we have Moz all I did was remake Razer again this time she just has modded CC she still looks good in my opinion but yeah with tab's hair salon you get over a hundred hairstyles and I think it was amazing that we went ahead and downloaded that auto snap because the auto snap helps with the different races and the different body types so yeah we are a muscle Mommy so we gotta have like after this regarding more mods so if you have trouble trying to figure out which mods you should download and which mods are okay to download then I already have a video for that because I think the issue now is modders are just trying to figure out how to accommodate a different races um along with the different body shapes that's what the issue is so a lot of mods that we really enjoyed during Early Access are being fixed right now so they're being updated which is a great thing you know and I hope in a few couple of months there will be so many or mods and I can just showcase them on my channel and Shout out the modders like I always do on this channel okay so let's move on to the next frequently Asked question which is how to uninstall mods you guys and this part is very very simple very very easy so let's get into it to uninstall your mods for Butters Gate 3 you want to go back to the vortex mod manager app and you want to head over to your dashboard and you want to come down to where it says mods and as you guys can see everything that's enabled is currently active right now in the game to uninstall you want to come over to where it says uninstall in this tab and you just simply start adding uninstalling the mods that you downloaded and all you do is just click here hit uninstall and you do that for all of them and if you want to get really fancy like maybe a mod was bad you click the remove tab it's very very simple very very easy and you won't get the notification anymore that says that you have mods active in your game so the last frequently Asked question is the mod error message era that pops up when you load up your game and you basically can't even start or get into your game because of this error message that pops up I'm going to show you guys a quick fix for this and I'm gonna tell you why that this error message is popping up so basically in short you have outdated mods hence why you keep getting this error message and the game won't even load up it won't even let you in the door basically so what you have to do is remove all your outdated mods and what I did is I just deleted all my old save files so that way that data is not even in there it's not even gonna cause an issue okay guys I'm gonna show you in real time how to do this so you want to come over to the screw where it says manage and then you want to go down to the third tab where it says manage and you're gonna go to browse local files once you click browse local files the information that you are looking for is going to be in data and then you see this tab here where it says mods right what you're going to do since you have this error message is take this folder out you could either delete it or move it on your desktop how do I know that this works because I did it earlier in the week when I had the same issue except that the mods that I had was from Early Access and this is what my folder looked like it's instead of saying mods it said borders Gate 3 and then when you click here on this actual tab it says mods so yeah you can either keep that folder or you can delete that folder I just decided to keep mine just in case I needed something for later it's really up to you especially if you have the date of when the last time you accessed that photo and you seen for yourself during Early Access I found that it was just way easier for me and I could just keep this just in case because mine just said borders Gate 3 and if you see the dates are completely different see mine says 7 12 2022 that's how you know you have old mods and even going back to the picture of the error message it even says that the level mod is not correct so that just means that you have outdated mods and your mod folder okay I think I covered everything we talked about so much
