[siren blaring] We just got a call about
a domestic situation. A neighbor heard arguing
and then a gunshot. In a domestic situation,
things can get heated really, really quickly. And the caller did
say that there has been silence since the gunshot. You don't know if somebody
has already been shot, or if they're laying
there bleeding out, the other person running. They could be
barricading themselves in the house waiting for us. So you never really
know till you get there. Get out. Get on the right
side of the car. Go back in your house. 8 [bleep], right? (ON SPEAKER) Residents
of 8 [bleep],, come to the front door
with your hands up. Residents of house 8 [bleep],,
come to the front door with your hands up. Do it now. Residents of 8 [bleep],, come to
the front door with your hands up. [police radio chatter] 162 is on the way there now. Hey, Brett, you have
the front of the house, I'm going to talk to
this lady real quick. OFFICER: OK, I got it. Do you know if
we've been here before for any kind of gunshots? Or have you ever heard
anything like that? I don't-- I don't think so. I mean, I've been
here since 1988-- I mean, in here. But I don't even
think he owns a gun. I know he's got a bow. But he's not even home. He's in his company truck. And it's a van. He's an electrician. I don't know where
he's working right now. But it's just him and his dog. He's got a black lab,
a little tiny thing. OK, OK. OK, break it down, guys. Thank you, ma'am. Sorry. It's all good. We're glad that it
was nothing serious. So this just goes
to show you how things can get skewed
in translation, whatever it may be. So after one of our
detectives gets to the house to talk to the
original complainant, she gives some more information
that now she heard somebody saying that they were arguing
about shooting a snake, which was information that we
didn't hear originally, and then that there was
three to four gunshots. So it sounds like somebody
had a snake on their property, and then possibly
just shot the snake. Got to look at it as a training
experience and go from there. But luckily tonight,
there was nothing too serious happened, as it seems. We're going to conduct a
traffic stop on this vehicle. [siren blaring] [inaudible] I'm DFC Denton
with the Sheriff's Office. The reason I stopped you is
when you had turned back there, and you got on that
road, you kind of went over that yellow line right
there, just the center line. Do you have your driver's
license and registration? DRIVER: Yeah. 158, when you're done,
I need you to start to me. Just do me a favor.
Just remain in the vehicle, OK? And I'll be with you
guys momentarily. It's just got-- I don't know if it's
his e-cigarette or what. But it's like a
strong, like, odor in there of not like marijuana,
but almost like they were trying to cover something up. Oh, a lot-- yeah, to me
it's a lot of cover scent. That's what I'm-- I'm getting out of it. No. Actually, yes, there's a knife
in this pocket right here. What did he say? You've got a pipe in the car? All right, cool. OK. We'll get it, man. Look-- hey, look, be cool with
us, right, be honest with us. That's going to get you
a lot further in line. Just keep doing what
you're doing, all right? I know. I can tell. All right? What you got? What you got? And a butterfly knife? Whose butterfly knife? What do you got
that for, partner? Yeah, I'm telling ya. Oh, yeah. We're definitely
smelling it now. Where is it coming from? Yeah, OK. I can smell it in there. All right, so we've got
a hidden compartment. That makes sense. OFFICER: He just hide
a little but in there? Just a little bit,
not even criminal. Is that all it is
in the grinder, man? You went through
all of that to hide this little bit of weed? You know, the
worst part is there's more charges that come with this
than there is with that weed. This is criminal. And you didn't even hide this? Yeah. It's a criminal offense. It's a concealed deadly weapon. It's just like switchblades. You can't have
switchblades either. It ain't like it's the most
deadliest weapon in the world. But you stab someone in
the chest with this, right? It's something to
get off the street. You're not getting a charge
for the weed, all right? You are going to end
up getting a court summons to come to
court for that knife there and explain that knife. Yes. And the reason being is the
knife is a criminal charges. This is a civil charge. We're not going to
charge you civilly when when we have a criminal matter. Yes, sir. I bought it in North Carolina
as, like, a gag souvenir. Threw it in my truck,
figured it wasn't an issue, figured out it was. There's a warning for you. All right, pay attention
to your driving. All right, you take
care of yourself. [music playing] We're getting
ready to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle. It's driving with
no tail lights on. [siren blaring] [inaudible] traffic, northbound,
just south of [inaudible].. Hello. Hey, I'm DFC Moehler
with the Sheriff's Office. You know why I
stopped you tonight? All right, your headlights--
you only have like your daytime running lights on. You don't-- you're
driving down the road with no tail lights or anything. [laughs] It's all good, man. Have you had any
alcohol tonight, man? DRIVER: Probably like
a couple of hours ago. OK. Because I'm standing here
talking to you, and I mean, I can smell the alcohol. So go ahead and
shut your car off. And you're going
to hop out with me. You don't have any weapons
or anything on you, right? OK. All right, hold up. You got a big old knife right
here in your back pocket. Do I? I'm so sorry. That's-- how can you
forget that you have that? I don't know. It's a long story. I've had it for,
like, years now. I've gotten in trouble with
it a couple of times before. And I didn't want it
to get taken and-- See, so now we're
getting somewhere. So you remember that you had it. But you didn't want
it to get taken. And you didn't want
to get in trouble. So you decided just to lie
to me about it instead? No. I literally did-- Dude, you just told me
that you remember it, dude. Just be honest with me, man. Because like I got in
trouble with it about-- Have I said that you're
going to get one right now? No, but I'm just so sorry. OK. Just be honest with me. OK? That's the easiest
way to do this. OK? Is there anything
else in your car? SUSPECT: In my book bag
I have two more knives. TIM MOHLER: You
would-- wouldn't care if I checked to make sure that's
the only thing that's in here? OK. So look, man, I really don't
think you're impaired tonight. You do smell like
it a little bit. Just hang out here and
talk to DFC [inaudible],, OK? 175, cover consent search. Anytime you find these
little alcohol preps, it kind of makes your
blood pump a little bit, thinking that there might
be a needle in here. And then we have a rag
with some blood on it. TIM MOHLER: OK. Are there any
needles in the car? No, sir. TIM MOHLER: But I
have alcohol preps. I have a spoon. Can you hook him up? Just for right now? Goodness. That's a big-ass knife. OK, that's a little strange. So I got two big knives,
a ski mask, and gloves. What's this in here for? TIM MOHLER: So it
keeps you warm? SUSPECT: Yes, sir. I got you. You see how it looks, though?
SUSPECT: Yes, sir. OK. Yeah, we got something in here. All right. Dude, this will
get you shot, man. So this is one of the most
realistic pellet rifles I've ever seen, or pellet pistols. I mean, this is not-- this is not normal what
somebody would have. In and of itself, the
stuff that he has here is legal to possess. So we're-- I'm going
to document the stop. I'm going to send out an
email to our detectives and to the Sheriff's Office
if this guy's matching the description of anybody. And then he's going to be
sent on his way tonight. Here's your driver's license. Here's your registration. I just wrote you a warning
for your tail lights. I have my mask and
my gloves in there that I use in the freezer. And I immediately
then got worried because I was like you were
going to make that assumption. Oh, no, I made
that assumption. No, no, no. Oh, no, I did. I know. If we're looking for
somebody, and you have all that stuff in your car-- do you know I mean? It's-- I do. It's not even going to
be a factor anymore. Sounds good. Have a safe night. Take care. That was just a really
strange traffic stop. Hopefully, it's just
a bad series of items all together making, you know, a
picture that's not really true. And hopefully nothing
ever will come of this. We got a call about a vehicle
that backed into a gas pump. We're going to pull up
and see what's going on. Looks like the truck is stuck. He is stuck. What's going on, man? What happened? How did you-- first off, how
did you manage doing that? How much have you
had to drink today? OK. Nothing at all? Because your eyes are-- are you on medication
or anything? OK. All right, man. Sit tight for me. Luckily nobody was hurt. There was no fire that
happened as a result of it. He said that he had been
crying a little bit. And I didn't detect the odor
of alcoholic beverage on him or see any signs of
impairment whatsoever. I think it's just maybe the
frustration got the best of him tonight. Were you here and saw it? WOMAN: No, I-- MANAGER: No, I'm the
district manager. I don't think any of us saw it. Oh, OK. This is your all's place? MANAGER: Yes. WOMAN: Yeah. MANAGER: Obviously,
the main concern is getting him off without doing
any more damage or anything. TIM MOHLER: Yeah, try and cut-- just real slow, inch off. DRIVER: Oh, no. No, turn to the left,
a little bit farther, pull, come back a
little bit, stop. Hold on. Move this. He can do, like, a 15-point
turn and get out of here. I would say back up,
then turn a hard right. And we might be able to
just keep, little by little, inch you away from this. Now, hard right, just a little
bit, little bit farther. Stop. I don't know if
that's going to work. TIM MOHLER: I think we
can lift the truck over. Come on, [inaudible]. Come on, [inaudible]. OFFICER: What do you think? We're going to have
to bounce it like-- all right, you ready? All right, ready-- 1, 2, 3. Yeah. MANAGER: You got it, man. You got it. Yeah. MANAGER: What a man. And that is how you do it. We were able to get a
bunch of guys together, and we just moved the truck,
picked it up and moved it. So he's going to be
able to drive off now. And his insurance company
will take care of it with the business owners. So this car up front
has a rear tag light out. So that's why I'm
going to stop him or her, let them
know what's going on, and then go from there. Hello. This is the Sheriff's
Deputy with Calvert County Sheriff's Office. Hi. So I turned my lights off behind
you because your tag lights out. Yeah, you probably
didn't notice it. So if there's nothing
illegal, no bombs, no prostitutes, no
drugs, no PCP pipe, anything like that in the car? All right. I smell marijuana in the car. When was the last time you
had anything in the car? OK. So go ahead and turn the
car off and step out for me. All right. So right now, you're just
being detained, all right? So go ahead and turn around,
put your arms behind your back. All right. So again, that's your
story you're going to stick to-- nothing in the car? So now there is
something in the car. I try to tell you. Just be honest with me. I'm not going to BS you. So why would you bull-- me? Especially, when
you know I smell it? I'm telling you I smell it. You smell it. I know you smell it. You know it's in there. And we could have been fine. But now you got me
out here, trying to play me as booboo the fool. Come on, man. We're better than that. And what's the scale for? OK. A whole stack of money. He has two stacks of 20s where
he's divvied down over the 5s. This stack only
is down at 5s too. JOE WARD: What kind
of pills are these? JOE WARD: Do you
have a prescription? This goes on a torch? Oh, it goes on
your bong piece? But this one's yours? Man, you're holding
everything for everybody. OFFICER: OK. OFFICER: Can you [inaudible]? OFFICER: What do you got? There's definitely a lot
stronger smell back here than what little bit he had. JOE WARD: See, I asked
you if you had anything else in that car, right? All right.
Stand up. We're going to lock that car up. All right. So know you know
you're under arrest. All right, how much
weight is that? Step there. So we have the gentleman going
to jail for two possessions with intent to distribute
for the Adderall pills and the marijuana. The currency that
he has divvied up, we're going to confiscate that. It's all vindictive to say he's
the one that's selling this. He's the one that's giving
this weed to this community. Man, all over a tag light too.
