the Exodus is a very powerful powerful story you know I've always told you that it's important to place yourself in the midst of what you're reading you have to put yourself de you know that's the way I I read the Bible that's the way I spend time with God that's the way I teach that's my style to try to make you feel trying to make you feel and I just could not imagine being enslaved in a foreign land for 400 years now ten generations and then to finally be free through these just overwhelming miracles and not even knowing how to handle freedom you know people that are incarcerated for years they don't know how to handle freedom a picture of 400 years and you're finally free you don't know how to handle it and and you're not sure you're completely free and then all of a sudden you hear the sounds behind you and there's this just this see in front of you and 600 of Pharaohs you know finest charioteers a barreling down on you and you want to talk about going from you know celebration to complete hopelessness just awful and and then to have God just let that see I know we talked about it but you know you must really believe it not because you've been taught to believe it not because you've been conditioned to believe it not because you say you believe it no no and that's why they sung that song can you imagine you got a picture me klimova my lima don't know i who is like you like we thought we knew you why did God put them in that position God told him to go that roundabout way what was he doing why didn't you just leave them just eleven-day journey he was making worse he was making worshipers he was making them fear him all the more because he knew if they feared him they would obey Him and if they would obey Him they would be safe he could take care of them but if they didn't obey Him he couldn't he couldn't protect them they walked outside his sphere of protection who is like you and the answer in Hebrew was in hello hey know a song that I sung every Shabbat when I was young there is none like you none like you this time is no worse than that time it's just not and that's when you build your hope reading and believing these stories did you did you lend did you give me that DVD the Moses controversy yeah the ad side I don't know who gave me the Moses controversy and I'm not saying this to say hey send me Leah DVDs because I'm really really really really careful and I don't have a lot of time but it was something you know like do you know if Moses wrote the Torah if he didn't what alphabet did he use if the Phoenicians developed the alphabet 300 years later so you don't know really huh you just say that he wrote it but if he didn't write it then it was handed down then the stories were handed down orally from him to Joshua from Joshua to others and they claimed it wasn't written some people till 500 so you have seven eight hundred years of handed-down stories have you ever played that game telephone guys I don't know if you aware this but if you listen to yourself some of your stories change over time and it's impossible for you to hear something the way the brain works and to to retell that story recant that story forbade them that's why I quote people all the time it's not possible you're going to change it not because you're a liar just because that's the way your brain works and then you tell to somebody and then they change it and no it's proof that he did write it which is unbelievably encouraging if you have nothing better to do check out that that Moses controversy the scholarship is off the charts I don't know who gave it to me maybe somebody sent it in tonight I thank you I was just totally pumped when I saw that um I have been involved in five funerals in the last three weeks now I don't do funerals of people I don't know it's just something I don't do unless they have absolutely nobody I want to honor their memory but I don't think it honors a person's memory when you get a stranger doing somebody's funeral I remember when my dad died you know I was a little boy and I remember my mom sitting with this rabbi because we haven't had it at this special place and my father's a rabbi wasn't available and he's sitting and he's saying to my mom tell me about your husband I'm thinking you're gonna ten minutes you didn't know my dad was sad so I I'm I'm not picky I just don't think it's appropriate you know some people are just guns for hire you know give me 300 bucks I'll do your funeral just that's not my style but I've probably done you know five funerals in the last I don't know five years maybe one a year they do one every other yeah so I just thought okay God what are you trying to tell me now I can't speak for you obviously and I wouldn't but for me I've always had a hard time with death ever since I'm a little boy when I would see a funeral procession there was this huge Catholic Church know in the Bronx you had one huge Catholic Church that literally took up a city block and because in the Bronx you know anybody who was a believer not judging but was he the Roman Catholic Irish Catholic there was no Protestants in the Bronx it just didn't exist I didn't even know what a Baptist I didn't know that - like how moved here but there was either you were either Jewish and we had a synagogue you know that could fit in me home OPA or you were Catholic and they would have funerals all the time and I would see these funeral processions and and I would be sad sometimes I would cry I'm kind of wonder what why I don't even know who that person is but you know what I really think of you close to God it should create a real sadness when somebody dies because it wasn't God's plan for man to die it wasn't in his plan and so I want to show you what God says in a verse a very obscure verse that comes out of left field in a psalm that's not about death but it Psalm 116 15 and this is what the verse says it says from adenoids point of view the death of those faithful to him is costly now know that it says forgive me but it says the death of those faithful 10 I'm sure he's send over anybody who dies but he's especially said and just like look you can you know when we get prayer requests you know burn that knife very concerned we pray it's very concerned it usually doesn't have the exact same impact when it's our own family I'm sure you can relate to that but it should have an impact just because it's not your family should be like oh well no big deal it should definitely have an impact I'm working on putting everybody before myself I'm working on that you know that's what Yeshua did but I have never met another human being besides him that have accomplished that and I don't think I ever will because you know his DNA was a lot different than ours again we have a sin nature he didn't you have to realize that otherwise you're gonna be very frustrated in your walk but he says this word costly in Hebrew yaha again you've got to look up all the words you know if you use the complete Jewish Bible you're not gonna have a concordance so you've got to use the either new American Standard or the King James Version just to look up words that's just the way it is it means highly valued weighty precious I think a weighty you know his kavod his glory is weighty which means when his glory comes it causes you to be pressed down a little bit when when one of God's faithful dies it presses him down kind of like saddens him you know but it's also precious to him because now it means that with him in glory there with him forever so although he said that they've gone through this death he's happy that they're now in the his arms you know Stephen is a is an incredible example of somebody that went you couldn't go any better he asks God to forgive those that are helping stones at him because they know not what they're doing and then he transitions you got to understand it's it's an immediate transition he transitions into the arms of of Messiah as Messiah is standing because he can't sit still after hearing what he just said what a transition just amazing but I think when you when the Lord says this when the father says this it was never more true than in the case of his own son Yeshua his death was was precious to his father because it provided a righteous basis this is what God's wanted from the beginning this this was a proactive strike this was preemptive and proactive this isn't an afterthought this was before the foundations of the world God is omniscient he knew we were gonna fall short so he's providing a righteous basis upon which he could justify and there's no nice way to say this guy's ungodly sinners so know when believers die there is a separation from their physical bodies and their souls I don't mean to I really don't mean to nitpick I know sometimes it looks like I do and I really try to make it simple but let me give you an example okay that last song we saw can you put up the first slide of that song is that possible or will it take too much time to do [Music] is the song fill me up okay just now you you might not catch this as no accusation I love all praise and worship team I trust them with my life spiritually speaking but you might not even notice this but this is you provide the fire and I'll provide the sacrifice that's totally biblically backwards that's the antithesis of God he doesn't say he says if you do this then I'll do my part you've got to put up so in reality it should say I'll provide the sacrifice and then you'll provide the fire and you might go kid out of here I'm sorry you know Satan says did God really say he just twists a word and changes everything in the new world translation the Jehovah Witness Bible it says in the beginning was the word and the Word was with God in the word was one letter changes the whole message so I'm not nitpicking not but when God says what am I supposed to do when when you're at a funeral and somebody says the guy says now she's dancing with the Lord Souls don't dance bodies do I don't want to go to heaven as a vapor it doesn't sound like fun it doesn't to me when you're sleeping we need to replicate the cells but I never said wow I had a really good time sleeping no not for me so when believers die there is a separation from their physical bodies and their souls the physical body goes into the earth but the soul immediately departs to be with Messiah and I'm talking about believers I you know funny I just thought there's something I didn't just think it's something the Lord told me who remembers Doris Childers okay Dara's Childers for you that don't know her was an elderly woman who probably was the happiest believe you'll ever meet in your life she could barely walk but she would walk around with the kids and then she would park herself right in front of me and dance literally dance for me like right in front of me and you know she loved me dearly I loved her dearly I'd always say to burn that I can't you know I I had to do a wash this week and it was really it freaked me out I just hated the idea of doing a wash of cooking of cleaning hated I told burned I've leaned until many times and said if you kick the bucket I'm asking how to be my wife but she'll say yes I don't like rejection so Doris asked me to do a funeral for her twin sister who sadly enough was born with a lot of mental handicaps and she stayed at the Methodist Children's Home here Macon till she passed away and I said you know Darce I don't I don't know Dorothy I don't know her and it's it's not it's not in me to do it for know somebody I don't know she goes rabbi she has nobody I said okay we'll do it and it was downtown I just written my first book and and Doris and if I can use a term that you're all too familiar with bless her heart she she comes running at me as soon as I walked in the funeral home snows downtown and she said rabbi rabbi her sister's name is Dorothy Dorothy's reading your book I'm like this lady is lovely I don't want to burst a bubble I don't want to say the dead can't read it's not biblically right I don't want to hurt her feelings you know and she goes no seriously I'll show you and I'm like [Music] so I'm starting to walk toward the casket she drags me over and I'm just picturing a sister in the casket with from the projects to the palace in their hands I'm like but you know what you can't compromise the truth it hurts feelings it does but I I just couldn't so I said lord I just I just got a corrector out of nowhere this lady comes her niece holding my book and Doris goes this is Dorothy she's raped [Applause] Doris if you're watching I've shared that story with you so it's not like I'm talking about on your back you know that this is this is why Paul the great Apostle Paul was so emphatic this is why he wrote in his second letter to the people of Corinth something precious 2nd Corinthians 5:8 he says we are confident we the body of Messiah that's you and would much prefer to leave our home in the body would prefer and come to a home with the Lord it's a preference as far as he was concerned and the other believers in the first century it was their preference unless he's lying of course and these words aren't inspired which nobody believes that so Paul is saying basically he'd rather be in the disembodied state over being alive so for a believer for you guys there are three possibilities just three one is where you find us today and in the present life on earth in this mortal body mortal body - what he's talking about there's the state it's called the intermediate state for theological purposes it's the state between death and the coming of Messiah a disembodied state if you will but one in which the spirit and the soul are consciously enjoying messiahs presence okay consciously enjoying massage first then the third there's the consummation of our salvation when we receive our glorified bodies at the coming again of the Lord Yeshua so for us it's it's one two and three in that order or good this is good it's good to be saved it's good to be able to share the gospel it's good to glorify God's name it's good but it's it's not better than being disembodied that's why he preferred it so good better is to be disembodied in the Lord's presence but it's still not best best is the consummation of all things now spiritually speaking I for one like best I don't need best in the natural I don't I ate pizza all week I'm okay with that you know there was a time back in the 80s where I ate at restaurants and in the Northeast where where we're a 1 ounce glass of Remy Martin was a hundred and twenty five dollars and that was back in the 80s today it'd be a thousand dollars I know what it is to to have the finest of foods I know it is to be on a yacht or to be in a in a you know a Learjet it it didn't it didn't do it for me and clearly not like this does no way I'm not saying those things in over themselves are bad but they don't do it for me so it's not like I'm saying I don't need those I experienced it I have but three the best I mean I call that the the perpetual party and to be a believer you and me to be a believer honestly I've had a lot of time this week to think about it it's glorious it's glorious I purposely this week took a I fasted from people I just stayed home a lot which is very unusual it's glorious to be a believer we have a blessed hope that none can truly fathom nobody here can fathom it we can trap on line it passes all understanding all human comprehension sadly enough though and why I why I try to evangelize why I take opportunities I mean yesterday I went down to the pool for a little while the pool guy came with his grandson 16 year old strapping plays football i I just I don't know I just went at him I said you know you can't take you sense to heaven right you know that right you know that there's laws of the land but there's greater laws and God is just and holy and there would be no justice if he allowed you to bring those into his realm but there's a way to get rid of a man oh no it didn't even wasn't even introduced to him doesn't always work like that it used to it used to if you Esbern that she would tell you I I tried to save farm animals I I don't know I heard of that movie old dogs go to heaven I didn't believe it so I want to see them saved but sadly enough the the unbeliever is is said to be in Hades that's that's what the Bible says there's no way around it there's a little parable you know I love your shoe his teachings because they're simple enough for a five-year-old to understand Paul you've got to have scholarship you've got to be very careful you've got to dissect and be very very careful you do but the the your shoes words easy easy and you know this story all too well about the rich man and Lazarus right and there's just two verses I just want you to see in Luke 16 it says in time the beggar this was this poor soul who was put outside this mansion this guy in the mansion had everything you know everything that money can buy anyway well in time the beggar died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's side there's a lot of figurative language here it's very symbolic you've got to be careful not to translate things literally when they're symbolic how do we know because if symbolism is used in other places you've got to thread the needle and see consistency when it comes to the Bible the rich man also died and was buried see that's what happens everybody gets buried in Sheol in chill way he was in torment now this is the New Testament Sheol in the Old Testament is just the place of the grave when you see don't let my body go to Sheol like in Psalm 30 he's not talking about how people really confuse these things so I want to clear the air shield is just in the Old Testament the place of the grave everybody goes to Sheol and in the New Testament era everybody goes in the grave right that's just the way it is so the grave in the Old Testament was for the righteous and the unrighteous that's where they were buried but he or she'll is spoken of as an abode for the unsaved because we read that the rich man was in torment torment now I want you to know something he did not go to hell because he was rich and the beggar did not go to heaven because he was poor there are some very wealthy people out there who are very strong believers who are very benevolent and there are poor people out there who are incredibly tight fisted and give nothing so it's that's not the message here if you see that you're absolutely unequivocably wrong okay but I will tell you that in the Old Testament riches we'll often assign a blessing because you read in Leviticus 26 about the blessings and you read in Deuteronomy 28 about the blessings and today under the prosperity gospel that's what people still think but I'll tell you what riches are sometimes it's not necessarily a sign of blessing rather a test of man's faithfulness and stewardship God sometimes will bless you with wealth to test you to see what you'll do with it it says in the Bible to whom much is given much is required so the message for me and this little parable is it's better to beg for bread on earth than it is to beg for water in Hades now do you like secrets come on everybody can say yes you all like seeing us out now if I said can you keep a secret I mean it's it's it's hard to find a confidant it's hard if you have a friend that you know if you tell them something you don't even have to say hey don't share this with anybody now if you're talking about somebody else that's just gossip that's not a secret that's gossip but the Lord shares things with me better to share with you and he shares things with me that are not to be shared with you if you hear from the Lord what I would suggest is first discern whether it's supposed to be shared because when you share a secret from the Lord that's not supposed to be shared I get to see the Lord going oh really that wasn't for them man you don't have to fall to ëletís ISM and arrogance to prove to everybody that you're special because God's speaking to you more than anybody else first of all you really want God to speak to you just read his word that's a surefire way but that being said there's a great secret that I can tell you it's a it's a mystery about a victory and something you're very familiar with but this is a secret that I would really really like to see you share okay it's in first Corinthians again it's amazing how such a dysfunctional congregation like in Corinth one of the most dysfunctional congregations ever there's so many beautiful aspects to the letters he wrote like the section on love or the section on resurrection just magnificent but let's take a look at 1st Corinthians 15 and read a few verses 51 to 55 it says look I will tell you a secret not all of we'll die that's an exclamation point he's he's encouraging them but we will all be chained changed again exclamation point he's being very emphatic he's not talking like I'm talking right now he's saying look I'll tell you a secret not all of us will die but we will all be changed that's how he's speaking it it will take but a moment the blink of an eye at the final shofar for the shofar will sound and the dead will be raised to live forever and we too will be changed meaning those of us who alive for this material which can decay must be clothed with you know David Stern heat look look he's a scholar so I I do I do also like to read the New Living Translation just so I can come back to like maybe a 10th grade reading level but in perishability that's seven syllables man I mean what kid is gonna understand that when what the case puts on in perishability and what is mortal puts on immortality then this passage in the Tanakh will be fulfilled death is swallowed up in victory death where is your victory death where is your sting amen so let's do what we always do and and break it down okay look I'll tell you a secret not almost died but we will all be changed a secret is a truth previously unknown but now revealed it's revealed by God not by men it's revealed by God to the apostles and made known through them to us through the Bible okay some will be alive when the Lord returns some will I don't know who those are because I don't know when he's going to return exactly but whether we have died or are still alive we shall all all of us be changed the truth of the Resurrection is not a mystery it appears in the Old Testament over and over again there's a song that we sung almost every Shabbat a little boy Madeleine Cosette will Moshe aku Morgaine may allah azza Oh Masha ask him again King Redeemer savior and still you who raised the dead sleeping in their graves you are mighty to save it's not like we didn't understand resurrection there's a resurrection in the Old Testament of course God is a God of resurrection but the fact that we will not all die and also change from living Saints if the Lord's return is something that had never been known before Jewish people just think well not all people ask me what did Jews believe I'm like what are two different believe is believe everybody has different beliefs so it's not really a fair question I can't answer that but in Orthodox Judaism this there's a Rea universal resurrection for everybody at the end of time and they'll be judged those have done good works to a resurrection of life and those who have done bad works to a resurrection of condemnation that's basic Bible Daniel 12 verses 1 through 2 ok first Corinthians 15:52 it'll take a moment the blink of an eye at the final shofar the change will take place instantly when a person dies it's instantaneous what a tremendous moment if you ask me that will be when the earth and the sea will yield up the dust of all those who have died trusting in Messiah Yeshua down throughout the centuries it's almost impossible for the human mind to take in the magnitude of that event but the humble believer can accept it by faith yes we can next verse 53 says this material which can decay again in perishability just means you're never gonna die again no decay which for me you know is is I think it's great no I'm just you know it's just it's incredible I mean I'm on aneurysm 9 it's crazy you know I don't know it's just one things but how do you think our good friends gonna feel when the Lord comes and she just jumps to her feet who do you think is gonna enjoy his presence more whoever has been damaged the most if life is good for you and it is good for some people I know some people they haven't said they tell me why I suffer a little bit I'm sorry I've been all around the world you know no no insecurity and inadequacy and issues are not suffering to me she's got to get your head right but I've seen suffering I've seen people just dying in the street I've seen real human suffering and it's rough to take it in he's saying here that there'll be two classes of people two classes of believers those whose bodies have returned to the dust and those who are still alive whenever he comes whenever he comes that's what's going to happen and last but not least when what decays puts on when he comes then and the pet that what Tanakh means it's an acronym if you are reading other versions you'll see it just says the passage in the scriptures but this is a little bit more specific that Tanaka's an acronym for Torah k2v and nevi it just means the first five books the writings and the prophets the Old Testament Tanakh means Old Testament so he's just being specific this is what it says in the Old Testament death is swallowed up in victory death where is your victory death where is your sting I mean what what is death and the grave and decomposition in the presence of God's power I mean verse 55 to me it might be the song that believe is sing as they meet the Lord you know death stung itself to death at the cross do you realize that sure I was at Yeshua's death is the death of my death and your death if I can give you the Gregg Hirschberg I would say death is swallowed up by a triumphant life who got the last word Oh death hey death who's afraid to you now when Yeshua returns though only believers will be raised sadly enough the unbeliever will be raised at the end of the thousand-year reign for judgment when Paul first went to Thessalonica the book of Acts tells us he was there for three Saturdays he went to the synagogue trying to win people to the Lord his Jewish people he taught the believers about Yeshua's coming once they developed a congregation he was teaching these believers about Yeshua's coming to reign and the events that would follow in the meantime sadly enough problems had risen about those Saints who had died there's always problems people think no there were no problems in the first century do you read these letters well people tell me rabbi in your congregations in Africa there's no problems no because Africans are perfect people have a sin nature some of the nicest people lose their spiritual minds and that terrifically you would think they were being controlled by Satan what they're saying and what they're doing and some savvy enough they're not demon-possessed but they're definitely demon oppressed so they were wondering about the bodies in the grave they were having this discussion will they stay in the grave till the end of the millennium what's gonna happen to them would they be excluded from participating in Yeshua's glorious reign and Paul answers their questions to settle their fears they're afraid and this is what he says now brothers is talking to believers we want you to know the truth about those who have died the truth otherwise you might become sad the way other people do have nothing to hope for when you are hopeless you are going to be sad when you're hopeful you are going to be happy since we believe since we believe that Yeshua died and rose again you believe that I did a massive series on the authenticity of the Bible we don't just believe because somebody told us to it's wishful thinking no we have tremendous tremendous proof we believe that he died we also believe that in the same way God through Yeshua will take with him those who have died when we say this we base it on the Lord's own word we who remain alive and the Lord comes will certainly not take precedence over those who have died no for the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a rousing cry with a call from one of the ruling angels and with God's shofar those who died United what the Messiah will be the first to rise then we who are left still alive will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and thus we will always be with the Lord so in part he's saying keep telling this keep speaking this over and over and over again especially as the time draws near so let's take a look at it because it's rich 1st Thessalonians 4:13 brothers we want you to know the truth about those who have died since you shouid died and rose again we also believe in the same we three issue he'll take us with him Old Testament believers had an imperfect and incomplete knowledge of what happened to a person at the time of death it just was the situation they didn't have the fullness of the revelation that we have to them she all as I told you was an all-purpose word used to describe the disembodied state both for believers and non-believers they believed that everyone would die eventually which is true and that apparently there would be one general resurrection at the end of the world and then a judgment the Lord Yeshua brought life and immortality to light by the gospel today we know that when a believer departs to be with Messiah at the time of death he's with Messiah the unbelievable it said the unbelief is said to be in Hades immediately we know that not all believers will die but will be changed we also know there'll be more than one resurrection blessed are those who experienced the first resurrection first Thessalonians 4:15 when we say this we base it on the Lord's own word now how did Paul know all this he obviously received this as a direct revelation from the Lord when not told how we received it whether by vision whether by an audible voice or by the inward impression of the Holy Spirit I don't know but he goes on to explain that when Messiah returns the living Saints will not have precedence or advantage over the sleeping Saints why is he call them sleeping some people teach soul sleep no the soul is active and aware in the presence of the Lord it's not socially that's a demonic doctrine it's you to describe the bodies of departed believers when you're sleeping you're not dead your conscious is alive it's aware that's why he uses that terminology first lessons for 1617 so the Lord Himself will come down he describes with a rousing cry with one of the ruling angels look we're told the order of things a rousing cry I don't it could be the Lord Himself Yushu himself didn't he have a rousing cry when he said Lazarus come out I just think it's gonna be him as he did with Lazarus then a call from one of the ruling angels there's only one ruling angel that's mentioned who's totally associated affiliated with the nation of Israel he's mentioned in Jude Michael the Archangel the angel of war he's gonna be summoning the angels as a military escort man chip you've seen some military escorts but not like this one buddy no a military escort to accompany issuer and his Saints through enemy territory they're going to come through the sky the second heavens is the domain of Satan he's gonna look Satan in the eye and said I told you I told you and God's shofar yes used to proclaim the shofar is always used to proclaim the Lord's presence and it's the same as the last trumpet in first Corinthians 15:52 it calls the Saints to eternal blessing there will be a resurrection and the key phrases those who died United with Messiah am i scaring you no listen to me if you have not humbled yourself your scare me I'm not scaring you I'm scared for you I am scared for you I cry for you I plead for you this is not an act you have no idea listen a thousand years is like a day on an eternal scale if you use a little basic algebraic equation we're here for an one and a half hours one and a half hours on an eternal scale this is what you're giving up you're crazy man you're crazy what would it take you you know you've done the wrong thing you know you've hurt people you know you've destroyed some people what would it take you to say I'm sorry you're not gonna have any excuse and then it's too late he's tried everything I mean there's movies coming out of Hollywood every week believing movies at the Hollywood everywhere you go radio stations TV the Gospels being put out you can get Bibles at Walmart what are you gonna say I'll tell you what you won't do you won't snub your nose at him like you're doing now you won't the sad thing is he's not gonna laugh at you like you left at him he'll be crying they'll be crying that's really sad yeah the earth and sea will yield up its dust of all the dead of Messiah then the transforming miracle by which the dust is formed into glorious bodies free forever from sickness and pain and death and all this taking place in a twinkling of an eye men of the world they have difficulty believe in the account of creation in Genesis 1:2 if they have difficulty with creation what are they going to do with the resurrection when God will recreate millions and millions of people from the dust that has been buried scattered strewn of swept up on the beaches of the world why it says in first lessons 44:18 the last verse so encourage each other thoughts of the Lord's coming do not produce terror for the believer it's a hope that trills and cheers and comforts the message is simple it's always been my message we believe as we you mean we don't look for the Undertaker we look for the upper taker and then if it's not enough for Paul to say these things look at what Yeshua said 5 28 29 don't be surprised at this don't let it shock you what happened to your belief men because the time is coming when all who are in the grave will hear his voice and come out those who have done good to a resurrection of life and those who have done evil to a resurrection of judgment again let me be careful some of you are very young some of you are very pliable and you're easily influenced he's not saying because you did good you've got saved you got saved because you sure did good but if you really know him you'll do good your works are evidence of your faith and your lack of works is also evidence of your lack of faith Yeshua says that in a future time all those bodies were lying in the graves will hear his voice all the dead will one day be raised some will be raised to life and others to condemnation what a solemn truth that there's only two categories your choice I read a story years and years ago when I first came to faith so glad the Lord showed to me about an antagonist there are antagonists to the faith they're out there they evangelize more to get people away than you'll ever evangelize to get people to come they speak more flagrantly you know what man if we could just mow lies Christians to be Christians it would be something but you sit in your churches you're sitting your small Bible studies you're sitting your small fellowships your way your t-shirts and you hang out with other believers you're putting your light under a basket you're putting Oh hallelujah I'm saved too blessed to be stressed you've missed the boat and if you don't get out there you're not going to have oil in your lamp and if you don't have oil in the lamp guess what you're a foolish virgin it's not just about me and mines god help us hiding hiding and obscurity afraid to tell people the truth she put she asked to be buried in a tomb a mausoleum and she had it reinforced reinforced with concrete steel reinforced concrete they sealed her tomb wood still reinforced concrete and as the workmen put her her casket in side this mausoleum they said there's no way she's coming out of this grave that's what they said quote and these this is what she had inscribed on her mausoleum take a look dead forever and this is what she wrote Marvel not at this you imagine she took John 5:28 29 and twisted it how twisted was this woman if there's no God and there's no resurrection why you fighting so much you don't fight at the air do you I'm not out there attacking the good Tooth Fairy and if you're still putting money under your kids pillow change that for God's sakes Marvel not at this for the hour is never coming when the person in this grave will hear is or any other voice she will never come forth either to a resurrection of life or a resurrection of damnation Wow wow you want to talk about crazy prideful arrogance well I don't think it worked out like the way she thought it would there's one year later just one year from a tiny crack in the concrete they grew a tender slender stem within a few years the grave was literally split wide open by the trunk of a tree that had grown from that insignificant plant the power of life had burst the bands of steel and concrete as if to symbolize the futility of the woman's efforts she had opted for a choice that was not hers to make what happens after our resurrection is optional our resurrection itself is not now we only have a few more scriptures and that's gonna be the end for today look at Philippians chapter 1 verses 21 to 23 Paul says to this persecuted group in Philippi for the me life is the Messiah I mean I see shirt's life is baseball and life is football what about for you as a believer what's your life about getting a good job making some money living in a fat house life is the Messiah and death is gain but if by living on in the body this is where we are right now position one as I told you earlier I can do fruitful work then I don't know which to choose do you see what's going on here this man is having a dilemma he doesn't want to be where we are Paul doesn't want to be alive he wants to die cause he thinks there's an advantage in death but he says if I have to be in this stinking mortal body in this decrepit place called Earth then I will live to tell of Messiah I'm caught in a dilemma I should have kept reading my desires to go off and be with Messiah that is better by far not a little better vastly better so his in a nutshell is Paul's philosophy on life it's a tough act to follow granted granted granted I know little squirming I could feel it I know I haven't shared the gospel in a year I know I know but I'm giving to you what I got from him he did not live for money he did not live for fame and he did not live for pleasure the object of his life was to love worship and serve Yeshua and to die would be to be with you schewe forever it would mean that Paul would be freed from this trouble filled life on earth freed to rejoice in messiahs presence we we don't ordinarily think of death as one of gain no sad to say the outlook today seems to be that to live is earthly gain and to die would be the end of that game right so here's the question I have as the Lord was giving me these scriptures why did the first century believers welcome death with open arms and why do the 21st century believers do all they can to avoid it it's a legitimate question right why don't we say with joyful expectation to die is gain it's not the same as wearing the t-shirt I'll tell you what the difference is they had tremendous faith in their own resurrection and they had high hopes to heaven they believed it now now they had an advantage Paul met the Lord the disciples met the Lord they saw the resurrected I'll give you that that's huge that is that is but I'll tell you something else that they had besides that they suffered from great persecution and this would alleviate their suffering when I go visit people at the end of stage 4 cancer I pray and I pray for a miracle but you know what I say father don't let them suffer too long it is your poll when you receive them but I'm begging you receive them to me that's the ultimate healing that's not something I say because if I lay hands on you you don't get healed I'm a loser or God's not powerful that's the ultimate healing to die is gain the problem is we don't suffer today we don't I've never seen anything like it young people forgive me but my god I've never seen anything like it I shake an 18 year old kids hands I feel like I'm shaking a girl's hands and if I pass by a nail salon I see an 18 year old kid I want to grab them by the nape of the neck and pull them out not only don't we suffered today but we live in the lap of luxury lap of luxury isn't is a term that means great comfort and wealth we have beautiful homes we have late-model cars we have nice clothes and we have money in the bank we have comfortable pensions we have medical insurance we have plans and parties and no threat of persecution on the horizon now rabbi I thought it's good to be encouraging so did I I thought you would be encouraged but obviously you know I may be the lap of luxury is gain but what are you supposed to do is supposed to give up your homes and give up that not necessarily know you've been blessed you've been blessed but your rabbis here to tell you it's gonna change and if you're holding on to that if that's your god you are gonna have a hard time holding on to your faith and I guarantee you you've heard it you've heard it here I mean who wants to walk away from that people want more I tell them places I've been you are living like a king and a queen a prince and a princess it can't get any better well I know a guy stop stop had my friends has got this screen I can't believe it at 70 what ask my kids what I did when they wanted a big screen I pushed their chair closer to the set ask him how many toys they got they got no choice and I had them go out for toys and give it to people that didn't have toys look here's the bottom line guys did the non-believers know this Yule lawlessness your transgressions all your sins they're written in pencil right now as I speak they're in pencil they can be erased but once you close your eyes it's permanent marker the pencil turns into a sharpie that's just the way it is I hate to see you suffer so much some people I know I just spoke to a non-believer she's not an antagonist to the faith she lost a husband she lost her daughter it's it's rough it within a year it's rough for her her only daughter husband she's very close to she's struggling she's suffering but there is a huge difference between her suffering and Yeshua's suffering she's not suffering for anybody he suffered for everybody and what a shame it would be what a shame it would be for her to go through this suffering and then suffer forever what a shame now to the believer things are going to change it won't be so comfortable to be a believer so here's my question if you get arrested for being a believer would they have enough evidence to convict you not least i asked the lord how do i how do i end this and he said with hope you have to end with hope now I know people I know people that have a lot of home fellowships right now I'm in touch with them all over the world there are people coming in they're suffering in their struggling even people that don't admit it even people that are enjoying their life they are struggling fears are encroaching they're worried about their grandchildren they're worried about the future they're worried about the economy they're worried about the election they worried about the virus they worried about the racial tension they're worried and worried and worried and worried and nobody can deny that I feel it I could feel it when I go places I feel it it's coming off the people I feel the fear coming off them there's a magnificent verse in the psalm that I read 56 8 David says you have not what you have kept count of my wanderings my fears my tossings my tossings and turnings in the night you've kept watch you've kept count you're aware just like he said back in Exodus - I've heard the cries of the children of Israel and I'm coming to their rescue don't doubt it don't you doubt it that's one of Satan's greatest weapons to make you believe in divine betrayal store my tears he says store my tears the in the water skin water skin is a man and a bottle aren't they already recorded in your book rhetorical this is a magnificent description as far as I'm concerned of the tender personalized care of the Lord he keeps count of all our restless tossings in the night our fevered turnings from one side to another he cares so much about the details of our tears of sorrow that it can be asked to store them in his bottle this may be an allusion to an ancient custom an ancient custom 3,000 years ago of mourners what they would preserve their tears in a bottle and a funeral and they place it in the tomb of the deceased friends as the memorial their affection how much great is that God is storing our tears they don't hit the ground they don't hit the ground why is my life why is it a struggle you have an eternity of freedom your final Exodus is on the horizon [Music] God knows each of us intimately and every tear we shed has meaning to him but here's the great news the great news to those who his there is a day coming when tears shall be as extinct as the dodo bird and Kleenex we'll be bankrupt now I don't believe in fairy tales because they're they're a myth they're a lie once upon a time when they're a lie I've never liked fairy tales I've never I've never read them and if somebody puts on a fairy tale movie I was shuttled off instantly and probably break the DVD so don't bring one over to my house if I break it I'll pay you for it I don't believe in fairy tales but look at this verse in Revelation he will wipe away every tear from their eyes I mean I gotta be honest with you if he's storing your tears in a bottle he's storing my tears in a pool there's not a day I'm not trying to both there's not a day that I don't cry over somebody's woes or where the world's going the level of evil of sand and listen to me in the Christian community who has bewitched you you not politicizing you nut you you you Christian freak you who are you listening to the spirit of Yeshua or the spirit of the anti issuer you've been duped duped as I said I don't believe in fairy tales but you know what's great about this the bad guy gets caught the hero gets the girl and they go on a white horse and live happily ever after I will do all I can to encourage you and push you to keep running the race and keep fighting the fight and finish this thing you're just gonna have to help me out a little bit too okay let's stand together we'll see you in
