lol recency? Brady heading to his tenth! Promoting Brady is no knock on Joe. Plus, Brady says Joe is the goat

49ers fans need to stop pretending like Montana was better than Brady. Joe went to four super bowls, Brady is heading to his TENTH -- in an era where it's more difficult to keep teams together bc of the salary cap.

This isn't a knock on Joe at all, he's obviously an all-time great but Brady is very clearly the most accomplished QB ever.

Look, I have Montana right behind Brady, but you cant tell me Brady isnt the GOAT. Brady knocked out the Legion of Boom in the Superbowl. Brady beat a #1 offense in the superbowl. Brady came back from a 28-3 defecit in the Superbowl. Has entered the Superbowl from both the AFC and NFC. If the crazy sonnabitch beats KC at like age 43 imma lose my mind.

At least Brady is a Niners fan. A lot of yall want people to put respect on Gore and Willis' name as they deserve, put that respect on Brady too.

Iโ€™m ok with Brady being the greatest. Heโ€™s literally the greatest QB to ever play. Joe is up there in the rankings, but Jesus Christ, can we not just enjoy being able to watch history? The dude is 43 and taking his new team to the Super bowl... whatโ€™s the problem here? Heโ€™s not a 9er? So goddamn what!! Broaden your views people.

Same thing happened to Jordan. Friend explained that we are now entering a sports generation that never really saw that era of athletes play.

Completely different eraโ€™s, and damn near a different game entirely. Go watch a Niners v Bears game in the mid-80โ€™s. Nothing about it resembles the NFL that Brady played in.

What does this mean?

  • Brady is the best of his generation.
  • Joe was the best of his generation.

Thatโ€™s how I approach these asinine conversations.

I posted this after seeing Romo comparing Super Bowl matchup to Jordan vs Lebron. To me Brady is Lebron but Montana is always Jordan to me

Mahommes could be like Steph

of size and movement and he throws the ball well he just had a good combination that we were always looking for the ball play-action fake do Patton throws his mask off my cart he's alone by the near sideline the 40 the 50 cuts off to the field at the 40 he's on his way at the 30 I'm putting the be face he'll go all the way touchdown for San Francisco's bike park [Applause] last season the 49ers away from a Super Bowl title bill Rangers in motion tennis [Applause] Dallas as you can see thrown some great sentences in the past 40 there's six yards away from [Applause] we'll see that pickup sigh possibly Montana look [Applause] there are a few games if any in NFL history which were as seminal it was the beginning of the end for the Dallas Cowboys as we knew them with Tom Landry coach you are looking live at the Silverdome in Pontiac Michigan where the San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals are getting ready for Super Bowl 16 hey this is a Super Bowl [Applause] it's just a great tax if you can't find a receiver fakes once once drives it again zone touchdown 49ers Montana ready on second 11 dropping taking a deep drop he's throwing meat and it is clutch and the guy that came in under the clutch was the throw of Joe Montana as well there goes Montana back to pass he fires out of the right and it is caught by VMI Adama 35 the 40 the 30 the 20 the 10 the 5 a Nehemiah touchdown for the porters [Applause] Tanna [Applause] Joe Montana never expected to lose he expected to win every game that he played Joe Cool was the guy who was never flustered there was nothing too big for him watch him he's so cool about it he never had fear and I think that was the exciting thing for me being around him I think that he's always had that ability to believe that if I just have enough time I can get it done my cusamano Troy 150-yard down a mate he throws downfield 15 caught by Solomon at the 30 he's gone for ten he's to the five touchdown 49 Kakashi goes on seven and ten takes one stroke toward the end zone card for the Linton's at the goal line he's into the end zone here's one head of fact the pass goes into the end zone if a man is birds of quick cuts down where the Predators hit back the pass will be gone for that protocol the bomb it is the biggest crowd of reporters was around Joe Montana the question there is Montana in any way jealous of Dolphin quarterback dam marina the answer was no everybody has their time and this is his right now he's had a great year the kid from Pennsylvania did not like hearing it was all about Moreno no he would never tell you that but deep down inside the competitor that he is yeah that was driving in that game [Applause] [Music] [Applause] every since he came up with Notre Dame ago they Walton right [Applause] changing [Applause] there could have been little doubt the Joe Montana would be the most valuable player [Applause] - just brilliant play I wanted to play the game as more of a chess game one moves gonna lead to another you'd leave a game and you feel like he'd never landed punch but you lost he was the artist out there Joe was a technician nobody did it with the ease and the calmness of one Joe Montana when he was out there it was really like he was conducting a symphony nothing was smooth into a precise [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] they break pass it on the corner of the endzone the party leaps and catches a baby's gotta into touchdown $40 [Applause] rage the plan to watch the game right the one you're mine he's going to pass looking toward the end zone now throw us across and it is caught Frank has it for a touchdown this is an education for I think a young coach you've given the 49ers an operative order here one more pop [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the weight plays the game is aesthetic artistic is just so quick and nimble and able to avoid the manoeuvre quiet [Applause] first [Applause] [Music] right on the money [Applause] probably [Applause] [Applause] right Joe Montana 22 out of 30 he is troll [Applause] he's the best the best Joe Montana I'll say he is the best who's ever played the game [Applause] with 42 I start there bรถck Canada throw steps up close I'm kinda looking for the quick throw pump make look sir [Applause] Montana to throw looking long throw it deep bright open Rice's got it 40 50 40 30 20 10 touchdown San Francisco Fontana gonna throw rolled out in trouble slips falls lobs it to Craig touchdown 49ers Dan is gonna throw for rice in front [Applause] it twice's third touchdown of a [Applause] [Music] right but by Jerry Rice water down in there touchdown 61 yards away [Applause] Bob said to go with silver all 23 folks from two times super [Music] [Applause] [Applause] trying to drive on the link the failed hair with the game in the balance thick gain 213 the Bengal blade when the pressure is on Joe just slows everything down and now with 310 remaining at the cincinnati 4745 montana back throws a little bit off right [Applause] eleven catches two [Applause] comes right back to throw montana depth up bro [Music] yard drive 2216 that drive that was washed in Montana's Mona Lisa nothing better the Eagles were the it team this was gonna be the changing of the guard game and that's how it played out in the first half Joe Montana just got home Jason everybody in the press box had counted the 49ers out of that game but we all forgot who was the quarterback though 49 whites will score [Applause] [Applause] twenty-eight points in the fourth quarter four touchdown passes from Joe Montana in the final stanza c'mon had already on second 11 topic taking a deep drop he's join me now filled a rice and it is caught rice has a first down breaking motion Montana rolls right tucks it in throws to the end zone Taylor Montana straight back drop a pass across the middle back to probe quick drop which lands on the left side the defense fell down Lippard hitch trying to get any steps inside that to the 20 to the 15 to the dead touchdown John Taylor Montana pumps left fires out to the left side for Mike Wilson caught for the touchdown he's back to throw short drop quick slant on the left--it Taylor to the 20 Taylor to the 25 Taylor to the 30 he may go all the way he's gonna go for the touchdown a six-yard 49ers in the league's top offense against the Vikings and the number one defense the survivor reaches the NFL's final four [Applause] very recovered blitz [Applause] this offense is the naturally today you put up 41 points on the number one defense in the league and an eye opener right there my back again [Applause] gotta get into the end zone [Applause] you can start eating up the gumbo going into the Super Bowl the last one and probably one of his greatest games of using every component in the 49er offered Montana role to the right he's got two men of the formation out there can find him come back across the middle complete to right rolls to his right throws the Fred Jones break a motion to the right pump fake by Montana launches it for the end dog Gary Wright drops back to throw looks over the field goes for the end zone Gary Wright touchdown 49ers Montana puts it on the hip comes back for the end zone Taylor 49er and the 49ers a complete route it is now 42 thread think about the job and the precision with which he did everything you don't see that I don't know if I've seen it since this 49er team has everything and I don't know that it isn't the best team that's ever been no one had his level of awareness if he didn't have the primary it was the second or the third receiver Hannah just knows where everybody's gonna be or they get that and he's like about four or five frames ahead of what you're feeling right to the left Montana back to throw into the inside of the touchdown favorite Cisco Montana drops back great pressure again fires an end zone touchdown rice down the middle Montana across the middle he's got again [Applause] sixteen back to throw let's down I guess it to rise that he's gone nothing in the subject first and ten 49ers [Applause] well when Joe is hitting that playoff game with the Giants I really became sick to my stomach that's how the transitional phase if you want to call it that was completed is that Montana was hurt in the NFC Championship game and I think at that point it became Steve Young's team I really didn't want to leave San Francisco and but the circumstances being the way they were for me to be able to play again I realized that the best thing for me to do would be to leave Joe Montana making his AFC debut third and seven back to pass Montana sets up pockets crumbling Montana Wayne's up parts of the spiral down the near side over the shoulders head to the pen by KK milk straight through to the end zone touchdown the 15 Montana back to pass goes into the end zone touchdown Manson take it in by Willie Davis Montana deep in a pocket pocket trembles he moves up he's running to the nearside patches I throw the pass on the fly in Joe Montana [Applause] fine ten exact pillow set hut pitch for the line forty-niners very early in the season in 1994 are now Steve Young's team of course he wanted to crush him Montana always saw her as a threat a threat it needed to be expunged and he got his chance [Music] [Applause] Kansas City this game means so much to Joe Montana yeah I mean he can play it down and not fought but I know Joe Montana Monday nighter against John Elway and the Denver Broncos Montana takes the snap back in the pocket five-step drop looking for the end zone JJ Byrd nine yards deep in the end zone front of Alan and there's the fake here's the pass it's caught for a touchdown by attack during a past at a leaping grab Willie Davis the judge magic kids eight seconds left I think that they're gonna remember him with his arms up in the air signaling a touchdown after a last-second drive to win either a Super Bowl or a very important game Montana performed and the people on the sidelines watching him perform we're inspired by just complete control of the offense precision knowing where the third and fourth receivers are and it's a clinic anytime the 49ers trail the assumption was well the Niners will win Montana's back you knew that when everything was on the line if you had a minute Duff in the ballgame Joe wouldn't let us down [Music] nobody's ever done it as well if your mom town I'm talking about the best quarterback in this every day the greatest quarterback that ever put on football cleats is Joe Montana
