be insane just [Music] Zig [Music] the kind of a joke to start with when when I was doing cloud nine with George at Georgie studio we would have like we'd finished recording for the day have a couple of beers now and in one night he said you know I mean you should have a group I feel that's a good idea and absolutely we have any you know Bob Dylan doing yeah I bet Roy Orbison then you see be a royal be simply great and then we both went well what about I said what about Tom Petty in any way yeah yeah I looked up could be just didn't claim we bothered but the concert anyway like the next day George had found everybody up they all joined on the spot so it's just you know ridiculous the thing happened completely just by magic just by circumstances maybe there was a full moon that night as something like that and and it was it was quite a magical little thing really and then we went over to LA and we recorded the 10 songs in ten days all sitting around the table five of us you know on acoustics do five acoustic guitars broke the Sun all the backing in it in an afternoon just shouting chords out you know a minor c7 and then on the evening without fur without dinner write the words over dinner I see really sitting writing much shouting worst aunt bub was always great at that you know there's quick quick one-liners and quick ten line music that's what it was all about there wasn't a lot of deciding what to do not a lot of time spent planning out anything so we just wrote the best songs that we could write and sang them as best we could [Music] you've got to do it now while everybody's here you know you've just got to get it done and so that was a another learning process for me because I was used to just you know taking my time a little bit you know and doing bits and bits there but that one was definitely you've got to get it finished and it's got to be done because we made a pact that we'd do it ten songs in ten days all we planned was which weeks that we were all available to get together that apart from that there was no other plan maybe set up a room where we're gonna be and then we walked in and we started right in the truth [Music] he was actually started by George he yes he had the day at the main lion that main guitar ooh but no words yet and as we were playing that riff together he looks over at this scene Bob's garage it looks over and says this box says handle was air and that's how the song kind of met and then we just wrote the door wrote the words around that theme even though it was only a carbonyl but so he just showed you anything could be an inspiration [Music] yeah there was a lot of fun involved because you're strumming these brand new tunes that you've just made up you know milliseconds ago and you know there you are doing and then you've got to write the words and then you see it and that's all happen in a matter of like probably four hours or so it did change my way of thinking about things and show me it the other way of doing it you know she's actually doing it quick [Music]

My favorite story about those guys is the one where they created a Volume 1 and Volume 3 albums but never a Volume 2. This was done as a joke to those not in the know would go on searching for the Volume 2.
