so many of you have asked me whether or not you should listen to Joyce Meyer so in this video I'm going to share with you several things that she has said over the years that is very very inconsistent with the scriptures and with basic Christian doctrine and afterwards I want you to decide whether you think you need to continue listening to Joyce Meyer and supporting her ministry that is coming up today on the beat hey my friend welcome back to the beat my name is Alan Parr thank you so much for tuning in if this is your first time here it's a pleasure if you want a free ebook click the link in the description box below if you enjoy this video consider subscribing hit that little Bell notification so you won't miss a beat okay so any time I do these videos I need to always start with this disclaimer I don't have anything personally against Joyce Meyer however I do have a responsibility to contend for the faith as Jew chapter one says and to fight for biblical truth and so anytime I see someone who is very very popular in the Christian circles promoting truth that is inconsistent with the Scriptures then I feel I have a responsibility to call them out and to warn you and to make you aware so I've got several things that I want to share with you that she said over the years that is just blatantly heresy and inconsistent with the scriptures but before I do that I want to share with you an experience that I had with Joyce Meyer several years back so I would say about 20 years ago before I really knew much about Scripture and basic doctrine I went to one of her conferences and for about the first hour of her conference she was just showing video testimonials of people who claimed that their lives were changed as a result of her ministry and so notice mind you we haven't even got into the scriptures yet and so after this hour-long session of video testimonials she then started to ask people to give money to support her ministry okay fine so an hour goes by and then for the next hour she starts talking about speaking in tongues and how important it is and how if you don't speak in tongues you don't have the certain power to live the Christian life and as a result she then invited a stadium full of people who didn't have the gift of tongues to come up to the front where she decided to try to teach people how to speak in tongues one by one so now we're here for another hour we still haven't gotten into the Word of God yet and then finally she gets into her message and people are tired people are angry they start walking out of the stadium she cuts her message short and stops about five minutes in and publicly just rips into these people and condemns them and basically says hey if you don't want to be here then you need to go and so that was one of my early experiences with Joyce Meyer and these are some of the things that you don't see on TV but are happening behind the scenes and so with all of that being said here are several things that she said that are just not consistent with biblical doctrine now for most of these I actually have audio clips that I'm going to share with you in this video but for the first one it's just an excerpt from a book or an article that she wrote many many years ago and these first few are statements that she made about Jesus and I'm gonna tell you right now anybody who comes after my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gave His life on the cross from me I'm coming after them so the first thing that she said inconsistent with Scripture is that Jesus went to hell for you and I I'm gonna read an excerpt from the one of her booklets and it says this Jesus paid on the cross and went to hell in my place then as God had promised on the third day Jesus rose from the dead God rose up from his throne and said to demon powers tormenting the sinless son of God let him go then the resurrection power of Almighty God went through hell and filled Jesus this is from the most important decision you'll ever make by Joyce Meyer 1993 okay so there are several problems with this theologically number one where in the bible does it say or even suggest that Jesus went to hell and there was demons that were tormenting him wow he was there where is that in the Bible there is no scripture that you're gonna find that that he was being tormented by demons number 2 nowhere in the Bible doesn't suggest that God had a conversation and had to command these demons to stop tormenting his precious beloved sinless son Jesus Christ while he was in hell this is what happens when you start to add things to the scriptures that are just not there number 3 where in the bible does it say that jesus had to suffer in hell from my reading of the Bible it says that Jesus had to suffer when he was on the cross and whenever he was on the cross he said tetelesti which simply means it is finished so everything that he needed to do to accomplish salvation for you and I happened on the cross of Jesus Christ it is heresy to say that he had to go an extra step and go to hell and to finish the job thereby being tormented by demons along those same lines she said in the same booklet he became our sacrifice and died on the cross yes that's true he did not stay dead yes that's true he was in the grave three days yes that's true during that time he entered Hell where you and I deserve to go legally because of our sin yes that's true here's the problem he paid the price there no I'm sorry Joyce Meyer Jesus paid the price on the cross at Calvary not by going to hell now the bible does teach that Jesus Christ went to hell to preach a victorious Proclamation over evil spirits that were being held there first Peter 3:18 but it says nothing about him being tormented in hell now along those same lines the second thing that she said which is a huge stretch from what the scriptures say is that the demons were having a party in Hell because they thought that they had defeated Jesus Christ I want you to listen to this audio clip of what she said the devil thought he had the devil thought he won all they were having the biggest party that ever been had they had my Jesus in the floor and they were standing on his back jumping up and down and laughing and he had become a sin don't you think that God was pacing wanting to put a stop to what was going on all the hosts of Hell work upon him upon it up on camera the angels are in agony all the creation is groaning all the hosts of Hell was upon him up on him they got on to him they got him down in the floor and got on him and they were laughing and mocking ha ha ha ha you trusted God and what clergy winded up you thought he'd trade you and get you off that cross he didn't so once again my friends this is what can happen whenever you add your own insight into the scriptures that is just not there nowhere in the bible does it say that demons were jumping on and laughing at Jesus Christ and on him on his back jumping upon him mocking and laughing him nowhere in the bible does it say that God was pacing back and forth and that the angels were worried and and they were just consumed with worry and all of these different things listen if God was in heaven pacing back and forth which implies worry that would seem to indicate that at some point gob was worried that maybe the plan that he had ordained for our salvation wasn't actually going to happen the way he intended for it and so he's worried he's pacing back and forth and the angels are as well listen why would God have to pace and why would the angels be in agony if this was all part of God's plan to accomplish our salvation my friend this is heresy but it gets actually worse the third thing that I came across that she said and this could be the worst thing is that Jesus Christ actually stopped being God he stopped being the Divine Son of God I want you to listen to this audio clip and read along on the screen and you tell me if you find something here that is just off hey could have helped himself up until the point where he said I commend my spirit into your hands at that point he couldn't do nothing for himself anymore he had become since he was no longer the son of God he once said okay so just because Jesus Christ willingly surrendered himself to the Father's plan by going to the cross and dying and being a substitute on our behalf does not in any way shape or form mean that he has given up his divine nature or for one second that he actually stopped being God nowhere in the scripture does it ever teach anywhere that Jesus Christ for one second ever stopped being God once again this is heresy number four which was a huge one joyce meyer claims that jesus christ is the first born again man implying that jesus needed to be born again i want you to listen once again to this audio clip of what she said was the first human being that was ever born again that would feel i mean it happened whatever gonna happen now to be born again would imply that you needed to be saved from your sin and therefore saved from the wrath of god my friend if we believe that jesus christ is the sinless son of god then there's no need for him to be born again to be born with a new nature right the idea of being born again means we're born with a fleshly sinful nature and then whenever we're born again we now take on a new spiritual nature once again nowhere in the bible does it suggest that jesus christ had to be born again which would imply that he had some sort of sinful nature this is heresy and this is a grave offense to the work and the person of jesus christ number five and this is very troubling as well joyce meyer claims that she gets direct revelation from god himself once again i want you to listen to this audio clip anyway to explain minutes not really that's why you got to get it by revelation there are no words to explain what I'm telling you I've got to just trust God that he's putting it into your spirit like you put it into mine so once again I'm not exactly sure what she meant by this and I'm not sure where to even start with this but basically it sounds like what she's saying is that God gave me something so deep that even the Bible can't explain what I'm about to give you what I'm about to share with you what I'm about to drop in your spirit there is no are no words there's no explanation for it in the Bible well let me just say this if you and I are communicating something that is so deep that the Bible can't support it or the Bible can't explain it then that just simply means it's your opinion that doesn't mean that it's divine revelation from God because God isn't giving any new divine revelation everything that we need to live the Christian life we've been given everything that we need for life and godliness 2nd Peter chapter 1 verse 3 has been given to us the Bible says in Hebrews chapter 1 for God spoke to us in many ways in the past but now moving forward he has spoken to us through His Son Jesus Christ so to claim that you get some extra biblical further revelation from God that's so deep that the Bible can't explain it my friend this is heresy number six Joyce Meyer believes in what's called sinless perfection which is the idea that you and I can reach a certain point where we no longer sin and we can just basically go through the Christian life without struggling with sin once again I want you to listen to this audio clip where she talks about her actually reaching this point of being sinless I am NOT poor I am not miserable and I am NOT a sinner that is a lot from the pit of hell that is what I were and if I still was then Jesus died in vain I'm gonna tell you something folks I didn't stop sinning until I finally go through my thick head I wasn't a sinner anymore and the religious world please my charity and they want to hang you first but the Bible says that I'm righteous and I can't be righteous and be a sinner at the same time I'm a friend to suggest that we are sinless or we can get to the point where we don't sin is a direct contradiction of what the Bible says in 1st John chapter 1 verses 8 through 10 let's read what it says it says if we claim to be without sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us so right there if you and I claim to be without sin we do not have the truth so right away that should let us know what's happening here with Joyce Meyer and then it says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness okay now notice what it says if we claim we have not sinned we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us so if we claim that we're not sinful we are basically saying God you are a liar why because God said that we still sin and fall short of the glory of God even the Apostle Paul said in Philippians chapter 3 that he had not yet obtained where he wanted to be but he was continuing to press on and press forward elsewhere in Romans chapter 7 Paul admits his own personal struggle with sin so to suggest that you and I can get to a place where we don't sin once again is not consistent with the scriptures and then the seventh and final thing the about Joyce Meyer that we really need to pay very close attention to is that she promotes this idea of prosperity theology she has gone on record to say this about her own personal wealth if you stay in your faith you are going to get paid then she says I am living now in my reward so notice how this might sound to somebody who's living in a third-world country if you stay in your faith you will get paid once again there's a lot of people in this world that are in their faith and the problem with the prosperity theology is that it doesn't work everywhere doesn't work in some of the and the majority of the world population they can stay in their faith all day but they're not going to ever more than likely become rich because of where they live and so once again this idea of prosperity theology is not consistent with scriptures I've done other videos on that I'm not going to go into all of that at this time so my friend after listening to all of these things do you think that it is still a good idea for you to listen to and support and to learn from Joyce Meyer listen I'm able to listen to her because I can discern every single thing that she's saying and line it up with the scriptures and say okay yeah that's true okay because a lot of things that she does say is biblical is consistent with truth so I can say okay I got something good out of that okay I like that but some of the other stuff did you say I'm say okay nah that's not that good so a lot of people aren't able to do that and because because they're not they're able to basically just taking it everything that she's saying and they don't really know what's truth and what's Error and so until you get to that point where you can discern that my suggestion would be to steer clear of Joyce Meyer or any other person in that prosperity theology Word of Faith Movement okay so I know this was another controversial video Saul would love to hear from you what are your thoughts about Joyce Meyer do you listen to her do you not leave that in the comment section below and let's talk about it if you found this video helpful in any way feel free to share it with a
