Deepen Your Worship to God by Trying These THREE Things!

in this video i'm going to share with you three things that should happen every single time you worship god and my friend i promise you that if you experience these three things it will take your experience god in worship many of you may not know this but for years i was a worship leader and even though i don't do that publicly as much anymore i still love to take a jog to take a run to take a walk to get in my car and block out all the distractions and simply get with god and experience the presence of god in worship it is an amazing experience and it's an amazing way for you to draw closer to god so today we're going to take a look at the experience of a prophet named isaiah from isaiah chapter 6 and we're going to look at three things that he experienced during his worship that i believe you and i should experience as well first thing that we see here in this text is that worship should cause us to look up to god notice it says here in verse 1 in the year that king uzziah died i had a vision of the lord he was on his throne high above and his robe filled the temple flaming creatures with six wings each were flying over him they covered their faces with two of their wings and their bodies with two more they used the other two wings for flying now watch this as they shouted holy holy holy lord all-powerful the earth is filled with your glory see whenever we worship god it should cause us to focus on who god is it should cause us to focus on the fact that he's all-powerful he's omniscient he's all-knowing he is gracious he is merciful he is loving he is patient he is kind he is sovereign and in control of everything which is the reason why we need to be very careful at the type of worship music that we allow ourselves to listen to first and foremost it needs to be god-centered and not man-centered the focus of worship and by the way the word worship comes from an old english word worth ship which means to ascribe worth to something or to someone so that's the reason why whenever we come to god our worship should be about singing about who god is and not focused on what we can get from god or out of god so that's the first thing the second thing we need to make sure is that our worship music is doctrinally sound because whatever you put into your spirit through worship you're gonna start to embrace that mentally and spiritually so you gotta make sure that the worship music that you're listening to is communicating the proper message and the correct character of god you know i'm reminded of the song our god is greater our god is stronger god you are higher than any other our god is healer awesome in power our god our god and i like this part and if our god is for us then who could ever stop us and if our god is with us then what could stand against and so once again don't go through that too quickly take some time and slow down and really think about what those words are saying as you are experiencing god in worship as you are taking the first step and looking up to god our god is greater our god is stronger god you are higher than any other our god is healer he's awesome in power our god and if our god is for us then who could stand against us right so you're putting all of these things in your spirit and it's strengthening your spirit because you are re-centering yourself and you are reminding yourself of the god who is able to do exceeding and abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think my friend whenever you have that experience in worship and you keep your focus off of what you can get from god and more on who god is you will take your worship to the next level now the second thing that true authentic worship should cause us to do is not only look up to god but worship should cause us to look inward at ourselves and this is the same experience that isaiah had let's look at it it says here as they shouted the doorposts of the temple shook and the temple was filled with smoke then i cried out i'm doomed everything i say is sinful and so are the words of everyone around me yet i have seen the king the lord all powerful so let's just stop right there whenever we first look at god and we see how powerful and sovereign and amazing god is and then we look at ourselves we see how unworthy and undeserving of his love that we are we see that we are sinful so we should see certain things worship should cause us to look inward at ourselves and experience this type of brokenness where we say god i thank you today that you have been merciful towards me god i thank you that even though i have gone against your way and your will and your word so many times in my life god you continue to love me you continue to forgive me you continue to show mercy towards me you continue to show your grace towards me you continue to bless me and extend and express your favor towards me and this is what causes the emotions this is what causes the tears this is what causes us to feel and sense ourselves being close to god because we start looking at ourselves and we see how unworthy we are which then causes us to be more appreciative of the love of god i'm reminded of that song that says your love never fails it never gives up it never runs out on me your love never fails and never gives up it never runs out on me so as we sing those songs it reminds us that god loves us even though we are utterly sinful and this is how we can go to a deeper place with god so as you're singing these songs in worship don't just stop looking up to god but allow this to be a time for you to experience the cleansing of god in your life now notice it doesn't just stop right there it says here one of the flaming creatures flew over to me with a burning coal that it had taken from the altar with a pair of metal tongs it touched my lips with the hot coal and said this has touched your lips your sins are forgiven and you are no longer guilty some of us need to catch that right there because some of us watching this we're walking around on all sorts of conviction and condemnation to where we don't believe god loves us anymore we feel like there's something that we've done that's outside of god's forgiveness and outside of god's grace but whenever we come into god and experience his presence we should also experience his cleansing so you should experience his conviction but you should also embrace and experience his forgiveness and his love and his cleansing over your life just like isaiah did and so not only should worship cause us to look up to god it should also cause us to look inward to ourselves but number three it should cause us to look outward at others notice what it says here it says here after this i heard the lord ask is there anyone i can send will someone speak for us now notice isaiah's reply i'll go i'll go i answered send me then the lord told me to go and speak this message to the people you see true authentic worship whenever we really experience god in worship there should be one response from us we should say god because of who you are and god because of what you have done in my life in terms of me being unworthy of all the blessings that you have bestowed upon me god my only response here my only reasonable response is to do as paul said in romans 12 1 in view of the mercies of god i beseech you therefore brethren to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to god we should say god where do you want to send me where do you want me to go who do you want me to minister to how do you want me to get involved in ministry how do you want me to disciple somebody how do you want me to use my gifts see we can't just be guilty of taking everything from god taking his blessings taking his grace taking his forgiveness taking his favor and at no time saying to god god how do you want me to respond to this god i'll go because my friends let me tell you god today is still asking the same question who will go for me most people are not interested in going for god they're interested in going for themselves but he is looking for a few people to to to be ex to to have experienced him in such a way in worship to where our response is god i will go wherever you want to send me and so my friend if you want to experience god in worship i want to encourage you to get some good christian solid biblical theologically sound music block out all the distractions go on a jog go on a run get in your car and get before god and really think about those lyrics in that song allow those lyrics to really get into your spirit and then the second step is to really appreciate what god has done and allow the conviction of the holy spirit to to to fill you and then don't stay there too long because then i want you to receive the forgiveness of god and as you receive that forgiveness of god over your life then i want you to really ask yourself god how can i show my appreciation for all the things that you've
