mama hi heidi thank you so much for coming in oh it's a joy i love being here so welcome to your podcast i don't think we've done one with you have we since the beginning the very first one here i come it's been yeah you've been all over the place i mean yeah your schedule is crazy i mean your air miles are even crazier yes i use those all the time thank you jesus and they're awesome yeah we're blessed to share them with you where have you been so late i this is my travel season so i travel a third of my life as you all know is it really a third it really is a third i count the days i suspect more suspects more but i can't i'm sure i count the days and um i'm traveling a third but i feel like the lord's speaking to me that it may be a half uh next year because israel is so much on my heart i just love israel i love praying there and ministering there first trip to israel was with you for your 50th birthday yes and it was get the height that was the best trip of all time epic it was epic your 50th birthday was epic for the books yeah i had an israeli party and then i had an arab party i had a beacon party we went to the garden too and just felt and the guys had just closed the garden but someone talked to him they let us in we had our own private tour of the garden of gethsemane and it's about we're about to celebrate easter easter is here and we're celebrating that jesus rose from the dead and he really did and when you're in that tomb don't you just feel he really did well you did it well and you were in that garden tomb don't you feel the glory all over that i think everyone's first trip to israel is very significant yeah at least for us it was amazing but you'd already been yes but you want to go more and more i do how many times have you been to israel oh i can't even count i go about five six times a year right now i just feel compelled to pray for israel to be in israel i feel like as iris global is a mission movement that we need really to have a major presence in israel to go out to the ends of the earth and to pray for israel and to honor israel and pray for jerusalem yes it's really it really is the city of our great king so i i don't know i think about it even more now at easter and yes and what it means that he rose up and he conquered death and he conquered the grave and we are now free we're free to to just be full of his glory so i'm going back to israel next month i'll be home in mozambique and then i get to go to israel again and uh just i just love it i love it there believing to get a flat one day yeah come on and uh we'll spend more time there bring zoey over bring nathan and sarah and the kids come on let's do it yeah there's a real connection do you feel a real connection to the land there as well i do it's like i do if i step on to the land in israel i literally feel like i'm at home and um our family on my dad's side and my mother's side both yes both sides and there's something about it you can't describe it you can't really explain it but you just step onto the land and you feel like you're home and it's powerful so wow you make me miss it so much yeah i know such a good trip we have to get back jericho well let's just say right now i'm going to be prophetic we'll be doing our next podcast with you in israel let's do it sounds awesome because we are planning to do a podcast series in mount of olives in the background yes come on come on or mount zion which to me actually was quite a small hill when i got there i was like oh okay it is a powerful small hill it is you just kind of envision like a yes you know i know about it and then i've seen one in the in the dead sea floating in the dead sea doing a podcast sitting around oh that sounds good waterproof case on the camera what do you think let's do it let's do it and i also thought this is the total opposite but i thought you got to do one at disneyland you've got to do a podcast at disneyland yeah because it's it's a place it's the happiest place where are you oh come on is it we all know that like it's lots of lines but there is something about it you get to see the world go by at disneyland yeah i mean all these people and for me it's a place where i remembered my childhood memories because being from laguna beach my dad would take me there every year with my sister and we would just have so much fun as a family just it would be diane and myself and my dad and we would get to go every year and i thought it would be fun just for you guys to do a podcast there and and watch the world go by like all these people from nationalities and as you do that there's something that i love doing that i do around the world now this trip is my major trip of the year i i seriously travel around the world and i try to cram it all in um so i started in asia i was in singapore and then i went and god just crashed in and you know what he spoke to me about beginning of the year he said i want your calendar i want your calendar and i said lord yes lord take my calendar and then he said tell the church i want their calendar and i thought that's powerful word that god actually wants to make our schedule he wants to create our skills receive that word i'll receive that right wow i could use some help yeah so i was all over but i i was just thinking of that disneyland thing and and what because we just took zoey we just took so we are grand baby and and we got to take our godson israel out of all the the craziest things you know some people think god's not in charge of everything right yeah don't they crazy people they're not they think god's in charge of the big things but not the little things so here we were and we are we are like going to the most crowded place on the planet pretty much yes with the biggest parking garage on the planet oh definitely i know where this is going yeah definitely and and we were praying we need to find nathan and sarah and we're meeting we're meeting uh elisha there and we're we we've got to find each other you know and we're just praying we've got zoe in the car and we're all excited because i'm i'm a whole i'm in america from africa and around the world and zoe's second birthday we're like come on jesus and we do that he's not his first time at disneyland yes yes and we're driving around we pray in tongues all the time you know we're just always praying i was definitely not breaking tongues i was praying i was saying i okay i'll say i normally don't burst into tongues when i go into a parking lot i do i do all the time you don't know me yeah you know you grew up with me so i was praying in tongues and we were we we missed a few exits we went round and around and then we drove in and then we missed and we and they made us turn around again and we swooped around again and we drove up and there you are there's nathan crazy sarah there's there's israel there's reuben there's zebedee next right next to each other with no cell phone discussion just holy spirit goes it was october we're all a gasp and our jaws are dropping that's almost ridiculous but if anyone's been to disneyland they know yeah this has to be gone sarah was like we've pulled in behind our family members traveling together and we still get separated in the parking lot there's probably five thousand cars on each level six levels that's how big is parking garage but for me that was such a sign of god being in charge of our lives that he's sovereign and he's able he knows where you are he knows where you're going he knows what you're doing wow and i i and i just love that and i love to prayer walk and i love to pray for people around the world like at disneyland i look at those people and i think okay how do we reach california how do we reach the people here and i i mean i love mozambique that's still our home and israel's another home but california is where i'm born and raised and i just have this increased burden for california wow and even if it's come a bit full circle for you because you thought you would never be back to laguna never i thought i had some pretty strong beliefs about that strong because my theology was the only way to be holy was to be extraordinarily poor so poor yeah and we were poorer than the poor that we grew up that's how she grew up but they never felt poor elisha says that too you never felt poor did you no not really i mean i think it was when i was really young was when it was the most extreme yeah i would say yeah i mean we lived in the slums um we ate top ramen pretty much every day she still loves it well that's funny you know when i was growing up too because my dad was only a one-way family my dad was a pastor so we would never get take out like if we ever got takeout food that was a big deal we got all this in the back of the car five kids you know right single wage passed ourselves oh wow kfc i think i okay twice as a child really wow well i never i remember about those times i grew up the opposite extreme but then when it was time when i got saved and filled with holy spirit i started preaching at the age of 16. 40 years [Music] i love sharing this beautiful story of his resurrection and his love and his power and his grace but i was thinking years ago you know when i left with roland on a one-way ticket and thirty dollars i left you were saying first that you were raised in that extreme where every houses are worth millions of dollars and it's everything you need we always had everything we had you know ski trips private cello private ballet private acting um you're in switzerland uh just because you could learn the language and go to ballet school and and ski and so i had all this stuff and and yet i judged i really judged those people when i got saved i judged them bad it's evil it's dark it's bad especially because you were one of them you felt even more i had to reject i had to reject my past and and i i and it was it was good for me because i laid it all down yeah and i guess and i don't have a material bone in our body you know and our kids were raised to share yeah so they share everybody it has no generous christine brock but i really yeah they are amazing but when when i remember when i received my inheritance and i remember what do you mean which was your mom's house when my mom and dad passed away they both went to heaven because i led them to the lord that's when is we found it we were pregnant with israel right the morning yes passed away that's why 10 10 10. you rang us at five in the morning and we just done the pregnancy test in pemba yeah and found out we're pregnant with our first child and i was in mozambique your role is god's son yeah and that was the craziest conversation because we were weeping with you at vanetta dying and then we had to tell you you're pregnant no we have to tell you but that's new line that morning we just did the test yeah it was a new life and we loved it full circle yeah and she was saved and she had been a missionary you know she's depend yeah six months she's taught english but there's so much about that that when i received my inheritance the first thing i thought i'm going to do let's give it away you know you can't keep this this belongs to the poor give it to the poor and then i heard the lord say abba daddy my abba daddy god he said your sister lives in that house because it's it's five bedrooms and four bathrooms but we split it around so we like kind of have our own sections and um so diane i thought diane lives there i can't give it away and i heard the father laugh chuckle and go oh it's your inheritance you can receive it or not and people need to know they need to receive their spiritual inheritance whatever it is and the way you were raised actually has a purpose and then i think i talked about this before it might have been in a message it might have been on a podcast but i remember i had judgment still even after receiving this massive gift i thought lord i can't take it and the lord said to me i want you to face those houses these crazy awesome houses on this private beach he said i want you to face them and i want you to bless them i said i can't i can't that's too much lord i can't do it you know the the neighbor made my mom move a pipe 75 000 move a little pipe and i just said how am i going to bless them you know and the lord said i want you to bless them and i said lord i'm going to bless them so i walked instead of facing the ocean we were just there with crystal and zoe this morning it was so awesome and and just playing and enjoying that beautiful place and and the lord said face those houses and i walked and he said face them walk back and forth seven times and bless them and so i walked back and forth seven times and blessed those houses and within one week i had made friends with three billionaires now i have never had billionaire friends before it's because i stopped judging billionaires three billionaires in one week it's because i stopped judging and i started blessing i wanted them your neighbor is one of them your neighbor i'm not gonna tell you but i will tell you that because i started blessing people that my heart shifted and it's not like we want anymore or we have some entitlement thing or we're going to leave the poor of the earth no we want to give our life but it's purity it's it is and when you bless you can never have authority in any place where you don't love the people and i have always loved muslims i've always loved the dump i've always loved the poorest people on the planet i've always loved my sweet crystalline but i didn't really love the wealthy i have to be honest i judged them i i i thought they're not as holy as people who have laid everything down and the lord really spoke to me and i heard a message from bill johnson you know we we all love bill johnson the lord and bill spoke to me as they do well he really did and he said he said he told a story about a family who was sitting at their table and they had nothing to eat now i don't know if christy remembers how many times we did that but many times that was us and we would be sitting at the table and we'd be praying for food for for our family of four and then later our family of 17 and then later our family of 320 and we'd be praying for food and and i was listening to bill tell this story this family was sitting and i'm like that's us that's what we did for years we'd sit and pray for food and pray for provision come on jesus provide we have 320 kids we need food to help us jesus and then something would happen either we would we would find out there was a wire transfer or somebody would show up in mozambique with bags of food or when we were in asia somebody would climb nine flights of stairs and leave some food at the bottom whatever god would always provide for us and i heard bill tell this story and he said and then the family sat down and there was a knock on the door and then suddenly someone brought bags of groceries and the family was like praise god he provided and then bill asked this question who do you want to be and i just realized i want to be the one at the door i want to be the one at the door i want to be the one providing people blessed to give than jesus yes and then i thought lord there are 20 million people right now dying of starvation and i i was i was just um praying i was speaking in in kansas city and i was on my face sobbing over 20 million people dying of starvation i said lord i want to be the one at the door let iris global be the one at the door we want to provide for millions of people this year food i don't want to be the one just waiting at the table i want to be the one knocking on the door let iris global be the one knocking on the door we not on our watch 20 million people a day dying of starvation not on our watch and literally cried out to god three days later this week guys this week i got a call from my great friends the shepherds awesome lovers of god who had connections with other people they said they had 1.5 million meals in mozambique and they wanted to donate 19 million meals to us so all 19 million 19.5 hundred thousand meals to us that we're gonna get all we need we need a couple of four ton trucks i believe for those come on a couple of four tons couple of eight tons but we are literally going to be able to feed last year we fed over five million uh meals but this year coming up i believe we're gonna jump to 20 million meals this year that we are going to stop people from dying from starvation but it's all the way we look at things right instead of cursing the wealthy cursing the people that have we bless them and we bless them to give to feed the poor of the earth and then we become the hands and we get to we get to provide for the people that are hungry and starving we get to provide education and see that was another reason we've all been talking about this building in l.a right why do we want a building in l.a where we can produce podcasts and more media and and have 24 7 prayer and and worship and and feed the hungry and you know we have so much vision for the heartless day spa for the homeless like we love that and and it's because god has taken us to a different place where we are no longer just just hovering and waiting but we're ready to just share the stories the god stories um and and even see hollywood shaken by the power of god so we're we've moved into this place and god shifted my heart to where even in the short time i have in california whenever i'm here i feel totally at home and i never felt that before it's a new season it's like will you love them too won't you love them too and so god's really given both roland and and i a lot of love for california and believing for this awesome place for media and just a miraculous building it has to be miraculous right yeah what's your what's your business what's your vision for la and oh gosh what do you believe not being interviewed here yeah you're being interviewed now we're turning it on you what's your vision hon i mean as a team we we have a heart for the entertainment industry so we did our an artist school a couple years ago and we want to do more of those that was amazing we want to see actors and musicians and filmmakers impacted by the love of god as well as the homeless in l.a um i think iris will always be involved in helping the poorest of the poor but in la our team has a real real heart for artists here and yeah and and the love for them like you said we need to have a love for the people you called you and i feel like that's what we have yeah a love for the people here for the tribe the hollywood tribe come on yeah and buildings are so hard to get here god nothing's impossible it's definitely it would be miraculous yeah yeah but it would be birthing the miraculous yes it will come on yes we're going to talk about this too birthing the miraculous daily insights heidi this is your birthing the miraculous heidi when did that come out is it just new that's brand new that's brand new just came out about that and um it's daily insights so it's like a short devotional has scriptures at the end and it's about taking you through the journey of believing god so right now you guys are believing for this building you're believing to reach hollywood um as iris global as artist yourself um how do you how do you carry that so it's one thing to get a call from god i remember when sarah your wife was overcome by the glory of god and and the power hit her and she kept seeing this bridge between mozambique at that time the poorest nation on the planet in hollywood yes and she saw this vision and and you guys had led our school there for years and years we have the best school in the world harvest school i mean everybody should do the harvest school if you're called to missions absolutely it's so cool but she was on the floor and you'd been leading that for years and years and god hit her and i remember it was like electric shock folds hit her she was just undone undone by god and then she just she just started screaming we have to reach hollywood and i remember telling the story how you got your visas oh yeah that was crazy we it was a pop-up on our computer that said apply for the green card and i went wow is this a scam or whatever and i felt holy spirit's like do it and it was it cost me 100 u.s so we implied sarah was out with sarah go back what have you done nathan that's a scam literally a pop-up screen yeah on the computer moving in sydney australia and then and then we have this crazy encounter we read your book and it's just wrecks us and god shows us in a vision to go to mozambique and we're all planning to go to mozambique and then all of a sudden we get this thing in the mail saying you've won just before we come to the mission school our very first one in 2007 only given five and we get this this let's say you won the green card lottery and we went is this so i i ended up i was calling them the because we had to get our visas for mozambique in england i was on the phone in england i thought oh maybe i should ring these guys we thought it was a scam that we won this thing so i'm doing the international phone call thing so i thought i'll call kentucky yeah while i'm at it yeah so i got on like no sir i said this scares us for a good no sir you've won the green card lottery congratulations was that for permanent any time you wanted to go permanent well once we had to fill out the forms we're we're catching the flight next day to africa we're scrambling to fill out the forms they give us all those new forms of stuff we didn't have time to get to the post office we had to leave everything with lizzy lizzy you've got to post this stuff otherwise it won't happen so they had to post all these forms and everything and then once we got back from our trip and did the harbour school and got back we had some this is when we met you yes you had six months to come here it was crazy yeah we had six months to move or we would lose it so we had to move wow so we immigrated as an immigrant i'm an immigrant not anymore i became a citizen two years ago but see god was in charge of that because you don't just win the lottery i mean not that we're not telling anyone to do lotteries this was uh uh this well i'm just saying you you know this was a a legitimate thing where it was like diversity lottery right and they just they just pulled your name out of the hats basically and god had called sarah to end you obviously and your future children to reach hollywood and he's called both um elisha who's behind the camera and chrislyn who's in front of it i love that that our family now is involved in media too that we want to reach the whole world now iris is in 63 different locations around the world did you point out all 63 yeah we should put dots on here totally kidding and this is not a very useful map because it's not differentiated it's a little heart it is but it's got it's it's a wonderful i didn't know it was 63. 63 locations now in something like was it 30 countries or something i think it's 35 countries wow 63 different locations god loves us and so we want to just keep exploding and we want to feed the hungriest people and educate them but we also want to reach those in disguise like as god has called you both and iris global la into the into this place of reaching those in disguise you know obviously we'll have a spa for the homeless yes but we'll also be reaching the actors and the dancers and the musicians why because they're hungry and they're and the screenwriters i mean elisha's writing screenplays how cool is that um i i just think we want to reach the background in the arts i do my first degree is in communication productions yeah you were you were performing this is how you were a performance movement started with you guys so it's full circle 40 years later it's full circle now we're believing to find this building in la miraculous building miraculous provision to be able to reach those that maybe can't see us in the far the far corners of the globe but they can get online and they can get blessed and they can they can see these programs and god can reach them in their own home yeah absolutely and i feel their mobile device yeah so right now i just feel like speaking to um i feel like speaking to the people out there i feel like the wind of the spirits on this that some of you you've been trying to fit in a certain box you've been trying to be a certain way and you think that if you really love god it looks like this if you're really committed to jesus then then you you lay everything down and you do whatever you hate doing and i feel like the lord wants to just sh i'm serious that was theology we were taught that it's basically you whatever you hate the most that's what god's going to call you to but god wants you to know that he wants to put his anointing in you to wear your own shoes to walk in your own anointing and i want you also to know that there are seasons in your life where god's going to shift you so i spoke about this before eight years i worked in the garbage dump and when god said go to get the lost makua bride i sobbed and sobbed and cried i said no i can't leave the garbage dump but god knew because he knows everything that that somebody would buy that garbage dump and put a wall around it and bulldoze down our church and so mercifully we had it bought land on the side and we had another place for our church and we got to the makua and we planted over 3000 churches and now we're building a university and but i'm saying you need to listen to the heart of god when it's time to move you need to move and the first assignment god gave you could be like the first child at your birth many of you don't just have one child you have three you have four you have five you have multiple births multiple children in ministry it's very much like that god says you're going to birth the miraculous but it's not just one time he's going to stretch you pull you make you inconvenienced you're going to suffer for him and you're going to find joy for him many times we've suffered for him but we always find the joy we always find the joy there's always enough because he died and he rose from the dead as we celebrate easter he died and he rose from the dead he wants you to birth the miraculous not just one of you he wants no barrenness in his children no children should be barren i mean he believes in the spirit of adoption some of you are going to adopt you'll adopt ministries you'll adopt children you'll foster children you'll adopt children you'll birth your own children but god wants no barrenness in his children no barrenness in the kingdom holy spirit wants you to know that he wants to place more and more inside of you and then you carry it to full term and you birth you birth the miraculous but you need to understand there are insights every day you carry what he put inside of you nathan and sarah i i just believe that when god gave you that green card he knew that one day you'd be sitting here that one day you'd be doing this podcast that one day there would be there would be a momentum in l.a that was going to see another jesus people movement and that that artist he knew before crystalline was born that she would be involved in the arts and media that elisha would be a screenplay writer that he god spoke to me about his life that he would do prophetic movies for the glory of god prophetic prophetic prophetic art for the glory of god and now it's happening and i think 40 years since the first day i started preaching 40 years it's now so i just want to bless all of you out there i want to bless you to walk in your anointing to walk in your own shoes to know that daddy loves you step on the feet of your daddy god hold his hands and let him walk with you you're called to walk in your shoes you're not called to be pushed into a corner you're not called to do something that that doesn't bring you joy because god wants to put joy in your life and and it doesn't mean you won't suffer but there'll be suffering and joy in that cup and there'll be so much joy that you'll be able to endure whatever it takes to birth the miraculous so i bless you in the name of jesus to go for it i bless you to go for it and lord i thank you jesus for opening up this amazing miraculous building in l.a god this place of media this place of of your presence this place of prayer and worship and a spa for the homeless a place lord where where we'll have roots in the ground lord where that which you spoke to us one of our bases in america will be here even in this place lord we thank you jesus for for miraculous miraculous miraculous provision miraculous insight lord for open doors for open doors lord for the exact right place and god i thank you for the artist and the musicians and the singers and the dancers and i thank you for the scientists in the name of jesus i feel like there are scientists out there and i t people the lord wants to speak to your hearts right now as you're listening that you are not a third class citizen in the kingdom of god that god wants to use your gifts and your talents i feel like god wants to speak to surgeons and say to you surgeons and doctors and nurses that you're not second-class fourth-class citizens in the kingdom of god that the lord miraculously heals people and he miraculously uses those of you who have dedicated your life even in the medical profession that god wants to wants you to come alive and to shine where you are thank you jesus i feel i feel again on engineers and i.t i feel like god wants you to step into your destiny i.t i feel like there's something really powerful right now on people even that are writing games uh the gamers they're writing games and god wants you to understand that you're loved and you're cherished god's gonna give you supernatural ways to write games supernatural ways that that are going to bring more of his love and more of his kingdom um i see 3d games coming forth i feel like there's anointing on 3d gamers just coming into their destiny and creating things for the glory of god i feel like the lord is going to release favor favor favor on actors favor favor favor on actors that have been praying and struggling and if the lord says if you won't compromise if you won't compromise if you will put put your eyes fix your eyes on jesus and you won't compromise then the lord will bless you with supernatural open doors and he will allow you to shine like a city on a hill that cannot be hidden and i feel like god just wants to move even into hollywood again god wants to shake this place for his glory and he wants he wants people to know who he is and so we bless people to know who he is um there's someone named stacy the lord's just healing you right now stacy the lord's healing as stacy right now i see you listening stacy and and god's putting a supernatural healing in your body i feel like your heart is also being put in sync right now and you're going to feel the peace of god stacy you're going to feel the peace of god there's someone named matt monteo's matt god is putting his his holy spirit on you matthew and you're going to um step into your destiny i i feel like there's been like a dark cloud over you matt um and i feel like you've you've felt depressed and in a lot of anxiety and and uh your your spirit's been crushed but even as you're listening the holy spirit is lifting depression off of you right now in the name of jesus nathan you go you go whoa what are you getting um i feel like this um someone called eve out there and i just feel like god's just really saying he sees you and he knows you and that you are not lost and you're not abandoned and that you belong to your daddy god wow and then there's yeah you aren't lost you are not lost you are actually in his hands and so just embrace your daddy god you belong you belong to him yeah give us more i feel like there's several people watching and um you're petrified that you've committed the the sin that can never be forgiven and and i hear that really clearly several people watching and the lord wants to speak to you that just because you're thinking of him and you're still considering him and you're still wondering about that that because of that you have not committed the unforgivable sin that you literally um just just need to fall on your knees and ask for grace and mercy and cry out to jesus and he is going to set you free from that guilt and shame i feel like god is really after setting you free from guilt and shame there's also somebody um you were called to be a missionary in in your early teens and you never ever got to the field and you feel like your whole life's just been um pretty much a train wreck because you feel like you disobeyed god and i feel holy spirit right now speaking over you and he's saying that he wants to put into you just a a new seed a new promise and you will get to the mission field even in your latter years that you will fulfill your destiny that it's not too late and i just bless you right now that it's not too late and we just thank jesus it's not too late yeah thank you lord yes god yeah yes oh heidi that was powerful heidi how do you how in your journey how do you keep god first how do you maintain the intimacy because it's i mean that's how do you think you're working in ministry yet how do you keep that time with my huge huge secret is i pray in tongues all the time quietly i don't want to freak people out but i pray in tongues all the time just i worship him i and i worship all the time like i worship music going that i love and and i also besides reading the bible i love listening to the audio bible so that's something else iris global does getting um bibles out to the whole world via chips and solar yeah and solar bibles and it i'm committed to that and we're as a movement committed to that because the word of god brings life to us and a lot of people especially like young moms i mean you're a young dad you're a young mom um and you've got three kids you've got one but it's overwhelming just just going to work get changing diapers getting ready and for me traveling 200 000 plus kilometers a year um with planting a university all that we're doing it it's it's in it's intense university in africa in africa in mozambique but there's a lot going on you know over 1200 people on our paid staff and there's just a lot going on right so i put him first no matter what and because i can't always sit i'm packing unpacking packing unpacking i have the audio bible i have about five six different versions of it yeah it's good i mean i have all different versions and i just put it on while i'm packing while i'm unpacking while i'm on the plane the word of god the word of god the word of god especially new testament and you guys who live in l.a you sweet people that live in l.a you need to get the the new testament for the car for the car because you live in your car yeah and this is you can listen to podcasts so much time in the car today it was so much time i was actually thankful for the traffic because i knew when i got home i had the kids and i wanted to have a bit of time with god so i was every car every time i stopped said thank you jesus and i was just having more time in his presence i said worship playing so i was having my quiet time in the car and i was thankful for the traffic slimy down so i got more time with god so right you guys have the potential to be very very close to god if you just make your car a sanctuary you know i'm serious you you listen to good messages you listen to the new testament you listen to good podcasts and you just instead of being frustrated by the traffic you thank god for that time you know it's it it actually can be a very peaceful place and i i i was powerfully saved in in mississippi at 16 on an indian reservation but at 17 i came back to laguna beach and i remember all through my years of university and and i would drive from laguna to vanguard university where i studied scc vanguard and i would just pray in the spirit i would just worship and pray in the spirit i would be so full by the time i got to university i was so full of the presence of god and so full of of the love of jesus that i would just jump onto that campus full and and people get to choose it does matter how you look at things you know you need it matters you can either look at the traffic or you can say oh yeah thank you jesus yeah it's perspective the story perspective is everything that's just another way i say it the story you tell yourself right wow that's good christy brock's become really close to a psychologist oh so i hear these things that's real that's awesome because you talk about it your perspective is the story you tell yourself about whatever situation it is so tell explain how that works i mean even the way you can be really disappointed about something that's happened but when you go back and you tell yourself you you give yourself a new perspective about it even now you retell something the things you've gotten out of it and the way that you look at things and you can do that in your day-to-day as well but um it's so good yeah it's so true so three hours in traffic can be your sanctuary yes and your baby's taking a nap and you you get to talk with your family you get to pray in the spirit you get to prepare that's where israel israel got his calling to be a pastor to the homeless people with god he's driving and he goes daddy daddy i feel like god's telling me that i'm i'm going to be a pastor i'm going to be a pastor for the homeless people to bring your kingdom and to give them money he says i i need to get money because i want to give them they need money there you go awesome there you go you're getting that downloaded in the car it was like thank god for the president yeah thank god for the traffic everybody living in l.a thank god for the traffic it can be your place to meet with god to listen to great great sermons great podcasts and the new testament just let it go over and over in your heart and i think you're releasing peace onto the roads because even driving that today we have this crazy off-ramp that's an on-ramp because in america here we have our rams and off-road so that are that of the same ramp in australia we don't have that but there was so many cars that the brand one when they're coming back from dropping using and there's like three or four cars trying to get over and three or four cars trying to get back into the other way wow but it was i was this is what i was worshiping this morning i was loving my time and it just all happened so everyone was patient and everyone just crossed over like wow wow nathan if you were in a very peaceful place in the ocean yeah it's just actually a miracle it just happened you got that no one got mad and angry we just all changed lanes yeah it was literally like a circus act almost like we were concertinated and like this one came here it was like i don't know how to explain it but it was like you know three or four cars and three four cars were see that's that's miraculous in l.a yeah we see the deaf ears open in mozambique the blind i see we see god multiply food in l.a it's getting to work and getting help that's birthing the miraculous right i think the miracle is not freaking out because yeah wow i get mad in the car oh yeah yeah yeah that's huge i surprised myself yeah you have to start praying in tongues i've been there gosh but it goes well there that's why when it's so peaceful and you think oh my gosh this is like such a contrast to me getting mad and angry at the traffic island but if you have good worship on you have the new testament on and you have great podcasts on you don't get angry because your mind is fixed on the lord he says put focus your mind on the lord like our life in mozambique in in one sense is super easy spiritually because people are getting coming to jesus every day people are hungry they want to hear about god um we're we're just in the miraculous all the time and then you come you come to america uh and in your thinking okay okay how do i share the gospel here like how do i carry the presents here it's so easy in africa in that sense but here there's so much going on and there's so much clutter everywhere yes and it's like much clutter there's clutter clutter clothes we've talked a lot about clutter and last guys you know what i did the last i i had two days off i literally had two days off and i decided to declutter even though we still live in mozambique we have this little place in laguna with my sister and i thought lord even though i live in africa i've still gathered all this stuff in laguna what am i doing what's it mean and i literally i literally just started praying and my sister and i we're 11 months apart we decided we're going to do this thing we're gonna do the upstairs first we have three floors and um so i'm on the top floor there and we're gonna declutter it and we're just gonna purge we're gonna get rid of stuff and it's gonna bring us joy you do need to do i need to do this you really need to do this everybody's watching you need to do this and there are lots of books out there um some are anointed some are a little weird um your stuff is not alive it does not have souls i'm just saying but anyway um to declutter your life is massive because if you can get rid of your clothing takes so much time it takes your time and sometimes your most precious thing like mail if you don't go through your mail and throw away all the junk it's like making me feel you need to go through your mail throw away everything and and then pay those bills the day you get them you know and throw away the rest she handed brock and i briefcase today yesterday with with organized mail oh yeah all of our mail i organized their mail because the the thing that i don't have a lot of is time and i thought how can i really bless the ones i love most so i love i love a lot of people right i really love a lot of people but i mean i love this is my natural born yes beautiful girl and and so i'm thinking of crystalline and brock and zoe and elisha and like how can i bless and then i'm thinking of the adopted kids so i i called them and i called some of them i can't call them all at once because there's so many but but i was thinking how could i bless them and it was like give them your time organize their mail mounds of mail and then i got rid of probably eight bags of stuff i mean we give to charity i thought well it's not just mozambique there are lots of charities in america oh yeah people already appreciate it you really need the things that have served you well so you so you say okay this served me well and instead of um keeping it you say now i'm going to give it to someone else bring it up to our building when we get it next time you go right and we're going to three years do the spa for the homeless and then we'll have fun yeah i want to have clothes no it's going to happen we're going to get this building soon in jesus name and we then people could maybe bring things there and we will bless the homeless with them um and we'll maybe even have a place to sell things and use the money for for the poor of the earth uh whether they be the poor in america whether they be the poor overseas that's another thing see how vision unfolds yes if we had a little store and we could we could receive how our call to action is like declutter declutter declutter but it's true then we give it a nice coffee machine in there as well but we give it yeah we give it to people who need it and then you you you know several and it creates more time which is how we started yeah yeah yeah exactly so today didn't the house just feel decluttered didn't it just feel awesome like it did the closets are clean i did yeah yeah and i felt more peaceful i really did and i felt like and my sister and i spent these two days instead of you know um of course we worshiped and we prayed and we read devotionals and but instead of going to the mall or going shopping which is uh an american pastime especially in la or laguna pass time buy more stuff you don't need we um bonded with each other and we just spent the day we prayed and we laughed and we talked and and we got rid of stuff we got rid of stuff for two days we got bags for charity we threw away junk and and we just laughed and laughed and laughed and we had such a great family time so i want to recommend to families that you just inspired variants actually for real though i know oh my closet just a mound and you can't find anything so you buy more yeah because you can't find you can't find your leggings can't find your shirts because there's just it's a mound but it when you get rid and it's all hanging and it's neat and you have far less stuff but you can actually find it yeah you don't have this urge to go get more stuff and i feel like there's a spiritual principle in that and elisha was looking at this earlier can you read it about being a based and abounding this is good for that begins chapter four yeah we were talking about this today as we were preparing for this podcast yes um it's right here um it's got plenty of heaps of numbers in here which i find i know what it is to be in need and i know what it is to have plenty i have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation whether fed or hungry whether living in plenty or in want i can do everything through him who gives me strength wow isn't that awesome so second when lonely content whatever the circumstances in contentment there is great joy and so if you're in traffic be content come on you got safely home be content instead of grouching about your bills and what you haven't done and how messy your house is if you don't quit you win you know just go point by point by point it's it's like this is a word for america you win it's true if you don't quit you win and and set aside a weekend this month i mean go to church come on um but set aside your weekend i i mean go to church don't don't skip church but you go you guys everybody should set aside once they want to do a home group at home or maybe okay personal time don't feel bad if you don't go to church this weekend okay home groups count i totally love personal time and personal time with jesus but i'm just saying just declutter although it is easter so probably everyone's going i hope so yes with the dominance oh zoey i'll be home zoe i will throw zoe in there at you come on yes she's gonna love it but declutter declutter bind yeah sometimes there's spiritual significance and feel what you're like feel your clothes does this bring me joy am i enjoying this is this good for me do i need this uh will i wear this and if you won't or you haven't worn it for a year give it to the poor give it to a charity give it to somebody who needs it give it to the costume department but don't leave it in your closet all those old pans that are just rattling around there and you can't find any just give them away there are people out there not just africa it's not just congo and sudan and mozambique you need to give it away [Music] well i'm getting wood guilt but we need to do that you guys it's a spiritual prayer daytime talk show it's like it really kind of is but i'm the sort of guy when everyone declares and puts it out in football i go through and take all the good stuff and but then you need to you know what i i also have a rule oh i've seen things only deliberate you're gonna get set free come on yeah come on set free everybody's not watching yeah it's the old darkness okay but this is the principle guys what i do if i ever get a newspaper you're gonna probably yeah but if you get a new piece then you give something away that's how i do if i get a new shirt i give one away then i'm not cluttering so true and then i'll think do what if i take it i'm going to give something away oh i want to keep what i've got i'm not taking a little break i can't okay let's all just breathe together thank you geez we're actually out of time oh but i think that's just amazing i think people needed to hear that they did especially and you yeah but especially but it's such a joy and give your stuff to charity give it to somebody who needs it having more time and feeling more peaceful and yeah yeah time for what matters all those old toys that your kids don't use anymore another child needs some yeah so instead of feeling like oh i it's emotional i can't get rid of it just say someone else needs it and i'm gonna bless somebody with the things that have served me well and now they need another home and then it's freedom it's like when you give your money away you feel great don't you feel good give your money away and you bless people that's you've taught me how to eat so your extravagant giving is such a inspiration to so many people it's fun but if i don't have the money this is something i agree with reeks of freedom that it is of freedom i love it if i don't have money to give away like my accounts empty or nearly empty i start giving away more stuff i start giving away more clothes or more pots or pans in africa it's easy because whatever you have somebody wants but america it's actually there are a lot of people that are struggling out there that need the things you have and if you do this i don't want to sound over spiritual guys but if you would just pray over your things as you're giving them away say lord let these items bless somebody let let whatever i have that i'm putting in these bags to give away let them be blessed let them feel your love jesus as i give these things away let them feel your presence as somebody else wears these clothes as someone else cooks with these pants as someone else plays with these toys let them feel your presence you know and and wherever you go when you i go and leave my stuff at the charity shop and i i bless them in the name of jesus i say i bless you and bless what you're doing i bless what you're doing to to take care of people who are hurting and it's it's just a joy yeah we need this we need this in the west because we have so much stuff and so it's good to have a lesson in dealing with your stuff yeah i feel like we need it oh i have one testimony come on i have to share it with you this is there yes this lightning testimony time okay so i don't know if you guys know but we had two boat sink right yes two boats sink that first one story for another time another time story for another time one yes dang yes yes it it did sink so we had two boats sink and we were praying it's pretty crazy stories but yes it's a beautiful reef we gave it to the fish and to the divers it's gonna be there you go it's gonna be yes hallelujah but we were really believing to reach the unreached people groups but this all and so we really really needed another boat and then um bill johnson heard and he sewed in and bethel sewed in but we still needed some more funds so this is the story that all links up with what i'm saying about giving stuff away so this awesome charity called boat angels called um called us so boat angels it's called boat angels this is what we are and they they take they receive anybody's boat that they're tired of their boat or their boats costing them too much money or they just want to give their boat to charity are their boats damaged or their boat so they go to boat angels and they and they give their boat to boat angels so boat angels heard that we still needed some funds for a new catamaran which is going to reach all of these islands up here all of these little dotted islands all up here and all the way to madagascar this catamaran which we found the catamaran but we needed some more funds so this is not a plug for money this is telling you what your stuff can do what happened is boat angel called allen who works in our benevolence area alan he's awesome bless alan called and said we want to give this financial blessing that came from receiving these boats that people no longer needed and so now without us asking without us pleading without us banging um we got blessed with all the money we need to get this catamaran to go reach the unreached people groups but that's the story of your unwanted things or things that you really enjoyed that boat but now it's time to pass it on yeah you can just give it to boat angels cars are the same a lot of people out there struggling they don't have a car your old car that you don't need instead of selling it way under value ask jesus where you can give it you know and bless somebody who's hurting and needy it's not just africa and asia and and south america where people are in need america right here in l.a there are a lot of people that could be blessed and you could declutter your life and you could you could feel the joy of giving and it could just be fantastic so go for it get rid of your stuff bless somebody else with your stuff get more time for time get out of your stuff more time for god more time for family yes that's right well well we're about to have dinner which is great yes with our la team so we gotta go we gotta go we love you heidi thank you so much for
