Insulating a Garage Panel Roller Door Part 1 : Adding Polystyrene Foam Sheets

okay so this afternoon I'm going to try and do something about my pen'll roller door right here it faces the east in the morning it gets the Sun directly on it and it gets really hot it's only colorbond just a thin layer of tin and my garage is just cooking every single day even in the afternoons sometimes Steve here he's off the clock up there at 50 and then some so I kind of that sick of it so what I what I've done is got some 40 ml thick or the stove inch-and-a-half polystyrene foam sheeting cut to size to fit in each panel and they're going to sit inside these little cavities here so I'm going to make this whole door like a bit of an esky or chilly bin depending on where you're from put a little bit of water-based liquid nails against the collar bond just to stop a rattling and whatnot and hopefully make it a bit cooler and it it bit nicer for the car to live in here so okay and I'll show you how it's done you it's finished you would have notice by the what you saw in the time-lapse video that I really struggled putting these panels for up behind this lintel at the top so at the bottom I decided to remove it and then put it back on so it's a little bit difficult to navigate around this the rollers if they happen to be in the way when you're putting the panels in especially if there's two in one panel so you have to do them sort of upside down but yeah pretty nice job hopefully it keeps the temps down inside by bouncing some of the Sun off the front so yeah all good if I had to do it again I maybe would have gone with um maybe 35 mil panels set of 40 or even 38 just so that I can make it a little bit easier to slip down to get it in the center of each eternal top and bottom but it's certainly in there well and they going to come out when to construction and easy gluing it on there as well so yeah here we go hope you liked my video and hope it works for you if you choose to do it too bye
