hi guys it's Asha and this video is about IELTS writing vocabulary but before we start compare this in this video I'm going to quip you with words and phrases you need to write a top-notch essay along with examples of how to utilize them or I'm going to give you the words and phrases you need to write a great essay and show examples of how to use them have you noticed how a small difference in the right choice can raise the complexity of your writing in this video I've prepared for you certain words and phrases that will help to elevate your writing and will look natural in any IELTS writing task 2 essay I've also prepared a PDF list of phrases and examples that you can download I know you'll love them and I will tell you where you can get it later ok now let's get started presenting a view in many tasks to assess you'll be required to present a view and the task will often read some people say that here are a number of phrases that you can use in your essays it's widely accepted that it's generally claimed that it's generally thought that it's generally accepted that regular exercise is positively related to wellness there are two other phrases you could use in this situation a common opinion is that Oh a popular belief is that a common opinion is that regular exercise is positively related to wellness you could use a slightly different construction and say something is generally considered to be something is generally so to be for example regular exercise is generally considered to be related to wellness presenting arguments after you present one view you usually give arguments in support of this view and to give some structure to your essay you can open your sentences with words firstly secondly suddenly finally first or firstly cars are expensive secondly they contribute to air pollution finally traveling by car takes more time than taking a train as you can see now example the road finally is used to present the last argument don't use this right to start your conclusion to open the concluding paragraph say in conclusion or to conclude okay let's move on when you are comparing two different facts or two opposite ways of thinking use phrases on the one hand on the other hand these are great to open your body paragraphs for example you can start your first body paragraph by saying on the one hand tourism facilitates economic growth and then you start a second body paragraph by saying on the other hand mass tourism negatively effects the environment as you can see first body paragraph represents one of you and the second but a paragraph presents the other view explaining your idea after you present an argument you may want to expand it to explain it in more detail in this case say to put it another way or in other words for example tourism facilitates economic growth that's your argument you continue by saying to put it another way tourists spend a lot of money in the countries they visit so in the second sentence you explain the idea you've just given in the first sentence giving examples in every task - si you are required to give examples and here are the phrases that you could use to do that the most obvious way is to say for example for instance tourism facilitates economic growth for instance such countries as Maldives and Seychelles largely rely on income received from tourists another phrase you could use is and Gilles tration of these days tourism facilitates economic growth a good illustration of this is mandates that largely relies on the income received from tourists a couple more phrases are this is shown by or this is illustrated by tourism facilitates economic growth this is illustrated by countries like Maldives that largely relies on income received from tourists as you can see all these phrases are very simple the key is to know a few of them so that you could present each example with a different phrase adding information when you want to add more information to the argument you've just made you could use more over or furthermore for example regular exercise is positively related to physical bonus that's an argument now you say moreover it's often claimed that it contributes to physical well-being -
