this evening wherever you are and I know we have quite a few guests with us tonight and I'm grateful I want to thank you for pausing taking out the time wherever you are in the world or the country the state or on the other side of the United States wherever you are I'm so grateful for your presence thank you for joining us tonight we're grateful as we're living in the midst of this pandemic I'm giving God praise that he's keeping us alive and he's protecting us and providing for us he's a great in an awesome God and we're going to take a moment and spend some time in prayer for just a moment and if you have any prayer requests just if you're in one of our platforms that you can just type it up just put it in there and we'll have prayer warriors praying for you tonight and praying for your families and praying for your needs we're believing that the God we serve it's more than able and more than capable and more than willing to meet our needs and we give Him praise and thanks for that he's an awesome God an incredible God so we're going to begin by prayer let's just take a moment and pray let's pray father I thank you this evening for your loving kindness and your tender mercies I thank you heavily father for your patience with us and your kindness to us even in the midst of all that we're facing and we're praying for all of our viewers tonight and praying God for not just our church but churches around the world and around the country the father were praying for communities that you would just put a shield of protection and have mercy upon us in the name of the Lord Jesus I pray that you would bless our time in your word tonight and you would just make this revelatory for somebody's life make it a Rhema word that people would have an understanding of what you are communicating and seeking to say to them I pray it in the name of the Lord and if their purse is unsaved or Batchelor no I'm sure I just pray father for you to draw them to yourself and let your name get the glory and honor this tonight I pray in Jesus mighty name amen we'll go ahead and give God a shout in a praise because we believe God in Cline's is here to outcry and here's our cry and response to our prayers so believe in God to hear whatever your prayer requests might be tonight I want to talk about last week we talked about starting a business how to start a business and I spent time last week trying to help people discover and how to get moving with whatever your assignment is in life whatever it is that God has called you to do that was last Tuesday and grateful that many people were benefitted by that and how to build your business how to grow your business tonight I don't want to talk about people who have a call to ministry in fact calling this this teaching identifying a call to the ministry and while we're talking about ministry I don't want you to restrict the concept of ministry to just a person who preaches in fact the ministry is so much broader so much wider than that so many people think the ministry is only standing in the pulpit and preaching but there are a number of other areas of doing the work of God and doing responding to his cry and I want to help you find out what yours is I want you to help you to identify what it is God has assigned to your hands to do everybody has something that God has empowered you and gifted you and anointed you to do and I want to spend some time tonight talking about identifying that that call and that assignment and how do you know when God's called you and how do you know what it is he wants you to do I want to that's what I want to spend time talking about tonight and so we've labeled this identifying a call to the ministry I want to talk about that and I'm gonna look at a number of scriptures and I want you to just make sure you take note and review these scriptures at a later time and I'm also on an urgent encourage you to send in any questions that you have I believe somewhere during the course of this study they're gonna put either a phone number or an email address for you to send those questions and I'm going to try to get done early enough that I can take your questions because no this is a deep issue that a lot of people have they want to know what what why am I here what am I supposed to be doing what is the assignment that God has given to me to do and I want to help you be able to identify that you're not just supposed to just come to church or just sit in the pew and look at the hair behind you you're not supposed to just wait waste your your life away your assignment is much greater than your job it is it is the assignment that God has for you for your destiny and for your future and I want to help everybody come and understand it and how do you distinguish the call on your life from other things in your life is there a difference between your call and your job let's talk about we're going to talk some times and some time talking about that so let's let's go and spend some time dealing with that and let's start off by looking at asking that question how do you know if someone has been called to the ministry and my first answer to that is everybody is called to some type of ministry but when you talk about the pulpit or whatever the call is here's number one here is point one and I want to spend a few moments talking about and undeniable and unquenchable burden and undeniable and unquenchable burden as a matter of fact whatever it is God has called you to do whatever the assignment is whatever it is that God wants you to do it will be highlighted by the burden on your heart about it whatever it is that that draws you to want to see something change to see something to be put in a better posture or position it's a burden didn't matter of fact it doesn't go away it's undeniable and it is unquenchable you can't put it out it won't leave if you go and do something else it will still be there you can do a whole bunch of other things but whatever it is that God has called you to do it will not be you cannot quench it you cannot push it out of the background you you can't make it go away and ignore it it is it is there on a regular it is there all the time and it is undeniable you tonight it is a burden when I was I've said this on a hundred occasions when I was a teenager just a young man I felt the burden I heard the pastor preaching in church and while I was paying attention to him as a teenager 13 14 years of age my friends and my peers were laughing and joking and distracted and uninterested but I had a burden to take the message he was communicating and put it in a manner that they could comprehend and understand and that wouldn't go away so when church was over we go hang out I tell him he was what the past was talking about and here's what was important about it and I I can't explain to you how God used that burden on my life and that passion for them to understand to be able to tell them about it we'd had church on the corners of the little town of Glen Arden I would we had a little group of guys that hung out together and we'd sit on the corner of the streets and talk about the Bible and talk about my what we believed about God and and we started a little singing group and we would sing on the corners we that was my sign my assignment I didn't know that at the time but here's what I do know it never went away because Here I am today 60 61 years of age and that that burden and that passion to help people understand the truth of God's word has not relinquished it has not gone away it has not been diminished one moment so whatever it is that God's called you to do whatever that burden is you can't push it away you can't you can't tonight and all through the Scriptures I'm gonna give you several scriptures today in this one section that talks about and we'll see it in the lives of other people we'll see other people who had a burden that just just wouldn't diminish Jeremiah chapter 20 let's take a look at Jeremiah chapter 20 Jeremiah gives us a good example of this in Jeremiah 20 verse 9 he says his Jeremiah talking then I say it I will not make mention of him north speak anymore in his name but his word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones I was weary of holding it back and I couldn't not that's profound here's where Jeremiah said I tried to push it underneath the rug I tried to walk away from it I tried to ignore it but he says it was like fire shut up in my bones and I couldn't hold it in anymore I couldn't not restrained it anymore that's what the call of God is like it won't go away and if you can walk away and go do something else to be content I have questions about whether or not you really have a call from God if you can push into the background and be content and satisfied doing something else that I have i have deep concerns about whether or not that is in fact your calling it will not go away Jeremiah tells us it was just like fire it was it was burning inside of me and I was weary trying to hold it in and you'd be in a situation where you want to say something is what Jeremiah saying but I couldn't keep quiet I couldn't I couldn't constrain myself I couldn't not respond to what I saw and what I heard I had to do and say something about it he furthermore list that in Jeremiah chapter 6 verse 11 he also reaffirms that early early in the Book of Jeremiah chapter 6 verse 11 he says therefore I am full of the fury of the Lord I am weary of holding it in I will pour it out on the children outside and on the Assembly of young men together for even the husband shall be taken with the wife the aged with heat him who is full of days say you know what he's saying it doesn't matter how old they are whether they're young or whether they're old whether it's a male or female whether there's a husband or wife nothing will constrain me or hold me back from preaching and proclaiming the Word of God he had a burden he was and he said let me say this to you today I want to talk about this because there's so many people God has called you to do something and you're sitting on it you are ignoring it but it won't go away and I need to tell you you could try to push it in the background all you want it'll keep coming back it'll keep rising back up it won't go away and matter of fact some of you who have faced challenges in your life God is raising up burdens and problems because he's trying to get your attention it's not going to just go away it's not gonna disappear he's trying to get you to respond to his voice and his assignment for your life let's look at first Corinthians chapter 9 verse 16 here's what Paul says for if I preach the gospel I have nothing to boast of for necessity is laid upon me and yes woe to me if I do not preach the gospel they are here Paul is saying here he's talking to the children of the church in the Corinth and he says I'm not but I'm preaching the gospel but I'm not boasting in it I'm doing this because there is a necessity there's a burden laid on me that I can't shake he says matter of fact if I didn't do it whoa I be I'd be miserable I kind of feel the same way I would be an unhappy camper if I couldn't preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus if I couldn't tell other people about how much he loves them and cares about him if I couldn't share that he died on the cross for your sins and made it possible for you to be forgiven of your sins and have a relationship with the eternal God if I could not do that that's my whole life I had a good government job I loved my good government job but it don't compare when I started pastoring First Baptist Church of Linhart the place where I worked couldn't believe that I would leave my good government job to come and Pastor a church and they thought that you know he'll be back but that's been 31 years and then I'm I'm still here I'm still doing it I'm satisfied fulfill ain't going back because it's I have a necessity to I have a burden to do it woe is me unhappy will I be if I don't do it also in Acts chapter 17 verse 16 Paul says now when Paul verse 16 of Acts chapter 17 now while Paul waited for them at Athens his spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was given older over two idols here's what he is saying when I saw how they were living when I saw that they were bowing down to idols when I saw them doing something that didn't line up with the will of God I miss Boston I had to say something about it some of you found yourselves a situation where you see people doing things and you just you gotta say something about it you can't hold back you can't you can't contain it in and that's really what the Apostle Paul is saying he said when I saw that they were bowing down to the false idols and treating these idols as if they were God he's saying I had to say something about it I want to say amen to those of you who go to work or go to places and family environments or friends environments and there you see them doing something and you want to say something but you know that they're gonna look down at you there's a burning of fighter some of y'all you can just blend right on in man fact you can go ahead and take a hit with them you could take a drink with them and don't bother you this ain't for you this is a person the people the Saints who are sold out to Jesus and who love him and want to see his kingdom expanded and see soul saves and life transformed and when you see people living a life that's going to take them in the wrong direction or going to result in consequences that are problematic those are the people I'm talking to today that burden that you want to say something might be an indication that God as a call on your life Acts chapter 18 verse 5 when Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia look at this verse 5 chapter 18 of Acts Paul was compelled by the spirit and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ when Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia Paul had a compelling there's the word a compelling an urge a strong urge they just it won't go away it won't go away you can't quench it you can't deny it he had a compel a compelling spirit to testify to them who Jesus was and the power of his presence his Romans 11:29 this is a profound verse right here Jack this verse down Romans 11:29 it says this for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable and if you have the King James Version it uses the word it says the gifts and callings of God are without repentance and some people have read that to mean or to think or interpret it to me that you didn't have to repent to have a gift of calling of God that is not what that verse is saying that word repentance in the King James that's used in verse 29 it's not the word repentance that we use meaning of turnaround or a change isn't he's not saying that you can get a gift or a calling from God and you don't have to repent that is not what the King James means the definition of the word repentance the Greek word means here's what it means once God gives it to you he never takes it back he's not an Indian giver or whatever they call it that may not be the right term he's not a person that will give you something and then want it back God doesn't do that as a matter of fact his gifts and his callings once he gives it to you he already knows what your journey is he already knows what your future is going to be he already knows what errors and mistakes and failures if he didn't think you had the capacity and the ability to fulfill the task he would never give it to you he knows your destiny he knows your life you cannot run away from the gifts and callings of God once he gives it to you he will not take it away that's important for your now to understand and comprehend they are irrevocable so don't think you can outrun it matter of fact here's what's important for you to know don't think there's anything you can do that would make God take it back when he gave it to you when he put it in you he already knew the end of your journey he already knew the full path of where you were going I get bothered and disturbed by some people who think that for some reason you could do something God natural way and take it back as if God was not aware of what Arizona States will fail you would have in your life we all stand far short of the glory of God and made our errors and our mistakes but God knew it already before you before he even gave you the gift somebody ought to give God a shot on that point right there that's important for you to comprehend and understand they they those gifts he put in you will never he will not take them away the gifts and callings of God are irrevocable so that's number one it is a burden it is a an undeniable unquenchable passion you're passionate about it you can't let it go you can't walk away from it you can't dismiss it you can't excuse it you can't ignore it it's undeniable and unquenchable and it is a burden a passion I say that all the time when I was a teenager and I felt this burden and this passion I didn't understand I know what a calling was I didn't comprehend or even knew it knew about that and so I went to my pastor at the time and said I feel a call to the ministry I was a teenager and he said you're a little young going praying I wouldn't pray and I came back to him and I said to him yes I feel this is what God wants me to do I was a teenager I didn't even real all I knew was I I had a bird and that's all I knew and I didn't even know those words at that time I just had that drive to want to do something to do it to do something for the kingdom to share the gospel that's all I that's that's what I knew to do and so when I went back to him the second time he said okay whew wolf it's a date for you to preach your initial message back then they call it a trial sermon put you on trial we'll do it next year sometime and I see a little 14 year old John Jenkins 15 or whatever age I was 14 15 I said to him I can't wait to the next year pastor that's how I know I can't wait I can't put it off I'm anxious to do it and he did something that not a lot of pastors did back then he licensed me as a teenager and all of the pastors who were critical of what he did were the very pastors who would be calling me to come and preach their youth Sunday's so I celebrate pastor John W Johnson for nurturing and disciple and licensing me and give me off on an early start in my life to do what it is that is my life calling let me go to point number two here's how you know you have an understanding of the responsibilities of ministry and I want to say this today because people must understand the seriousness what is the seriousness of accepting the call and going into ministry that's what you that's what you gotta understand this is no plaything you don't pick it up and put it back down later you have to understand that you have a higher judgment that comes down the path for your life change chapter three verse one my brethren let not many of you become teachers knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment that's that's important for you to comprehend and understand that there's a greater judgment you you you're gonna have to answer the God on a much higher level so I'm telling people if you feel you have a call to ministry you need to get prepared and trained you need to get yourself in an environment to be discipled in ministry so that you know what your responsibilities are and so this this this call comes with a willingness to understand and comprehend the responsibility of it it's a serious responsibility one bad decision one bad message one bad act can destroy somebody else's life can mess up their soul so you have to be willing to embrace and accept and pick up and understand the responsibility of doing the work of ministry and I suppose that's true for so many areas of a call and a purpose for your life it's very important that you comprehend and understand that and that's what James chapter 3 says that that's something you should do here's number three you must be willing to receive the ministry you must be willing not only to understand the responsibilities of it but in several places that we're going to look at in just a moment you must be willing to accept it and receive the ministry and that concept is is mentioning and edified in several places in the scripture let me just take a moment and take a look at that let's look at Acts chapter 20 verses 22 through 24 jot that down I want you to get ahold of that and understand it here's what it says and see now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem not knowing the things that will happen to me there except that the Holy Spirit testified in every city saying that chains and tribulations await to me y'all see that make sure you got that here's what he is saying the Holy Spirit told me that wherever I go to preach the gospel what's in front of me are chains and tribulations I this ain't gonna be no cake run this ain't gonna be no piece of cake this is going to be challenging you're going to be rejected talked about maybe even in those days they were put to death and there's coming the time that even today you'll be put to death and what the Apostle what is being written here in the absolutely apostle the early days of the church is you don't get into ministry because it looks flamboyant and I know so many people think that that's what it is you're not going it because you think you're gonna earn a lot of money you don't go into it so you think you can get Fame and have thousands of people following you that's not why you go into ministry we Paul this thing said you got to be willing to accept everything that goes with it being misunderstood talked about hated lot on rejected by people has a keen ager has a teenage young man in high school has a preacher I didn't have a lot of friends I had a lot of people who said when they saw me coming they say here comes John they didn't invite me to their parties and they didn't come to mine it's ok I told my church all the time First Baptist y'all know I say they didn't come to my party when I was a teenager but every Sunday I throw a party right now and they still they still come and every Sunday even look even in Corona issues we still got thousands of people showing up to my online party and so the scripture is saying here today there's chains and tribulations that await you and then in verse 24 he says look he said when it comes to the ministry but none of these things move me I like that nothing would make me want to not do what it is that God has assigned to my hands to do I wish I could hear Amen right there I wish I had somebody to say go on and preach it pastor none of these things move me nor do I count my life dear to myself so that I may finish my race with joy I don't care what said about me what's done to me my own life Paul says is not important to me and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus to testify to the gospel of the grace of God I love that right there this man's heart this this writing right here in acts 20 the heart is for the kingdom of God ain't about my reputation ain't about how many followers you got is not about how many people that love you admire you salute you in him it's not about all of that it's about elevating the name of Jesus and I can't Paul this writer says and I count my life as nothing that's X 22 X chapter 20 verse 22 through 24 this is look at Colossians chapter 4 verse 17 says take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord that you may fulfill it take heed pay attention to it to the ministry you have received and so what I hear what I'm what I sense in all of this is that the Spirit of God is saying that you've got that burden in that call accept the responsibilities accept accept the burden of the ministry accept and be willing to do it and embrace it regardless of what comes along the plank to challenge regardless of what they say regardless of whether people hate you want to kill you or reject you or don't want to be your friend forget about that don't let that hinder you doing what God has assigned to your hands to do hallelujah as collages 4:17 this look at Romans chapter 1 verses 15 and 16 I like this so as much as is in me Paul writing to the Roman Church I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also he says I'm ready I've received it then he says for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes for the Jew first and also for the Greek I love that this man says I'm not ashamed of the gospel I don't know about you all but I'm not ashamed it could be a Christian and I boldly proudly proclaim my faith in Jesus and not because I'm a pastor not because I'm a preacher it's because I know what he's done for my life and I know how he's changed my life how he forgave me and gave me a relationship with the eternal God I'm grateful for that I don't know about you but I love God for that that he has made that available to me and you I'm not ashamed and so I'm saying to you today don't be ashamed or whatever assignment God has given to your hands to do whatever it is do not be ashamed if they talk about you they reject you you've got the glory give God praise giving things exalt his name counted a joy to suffer for righteousness sake counted a privilege if matter of fact the scripture teaches us and I probably should add a description here that if we suffer with him we will reign with him you can train if you're not willing to suffer here's number 4 God provides opportunities for you to exercise your gift this is an important point in fact this is one of the important points of being able to recognize that God has a call on your life and that there's something that he wants you to do that he opens up doors of opportunity for you to do what it is he's called for you to do I cannot tell you how important that is I pray I think there's a number of people who somehow in their mindset believe that they need to get the license first they need to be licensed or ordained whatever you want to call it you need to get credentialed before you can go out and do the work of the ministry and I'm saying to you today that's not true the scripture is clear proverbs chapter 18 verse 16 says a man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great men stick a pen in that verse in your Bible proverbs 18 16 your gifts that God put in you makes room it opens up doors doesn't say a man's license or a church's license or credential no no the when people come forward at our church and they want to be licensed I'm looking to see up at 2 what opportunities have you had what doors have God has opened up for you can we say this and be clear crystal clear about it I don't feel this my responsibility as a pastor to make opportunities for you and I didn't call you God called you so you say and if he calls you it's his job to open up doors for you and if he's not opening up doors for you then you need to wait until he opens doors for you that that's your time that's how you know it's your time and when I say open up doors for you I don't mean you you know you you you sponsoring your own event I ain't talking about that I'm not talking about you going down to the school and written it out and putting up signs something that you put on I'm not talking about that I'm talking about other people in the kingdom of God who see a call and mantel on your life I'm talking about people who see the passion and the hand of God on you and they opened up an opportunity they invite you to come I'm talking about you going into places prisons and nursing homes because of that burden cuz of that passion that just won't go away that you're going into environments like schools to the schools or any place that you can go but not because you created an event but but because somebody sees the mantle that Christ has put on your life they see the holy spirit all down inside you they see that you've been smeared with an anointing they see that you have a God call on your life and because of that they open up doors and ask you to come and serve and so I tell the people we want to see what opportunities has God opened up for you what door says he's open and to me there ought to be some some specific situations that God has opened up for you to do what it is that you believe that the Lord Jesus has called for you to do opportunities aren't important it's very important so I want to that's when God opens up an opportunity for you to exercise your gift and he keeps opening up those opportunities again I ain't talk about no one opportunity in five years I'm talking about God is opening up doors for us to see his mantle as a matter of fact my belief is about a time we get ready of the license shoe it should be so clear that anybody they'll say well you know it's about time or they would say we've seen you operate we've seen you flow and functioning and the mantle that God has put on you that's how you know that God is opening up an opportunity that's how you know that's one of the ways that you know that God has gifted you for this here's number five and it in fact will be my almost my final point there will be fruit produced and I would say to you if you feel God's called you to the ministry and he's opening up those doors I want you to take good records of what were the fruit what was the result of your ministry there people could save their people we dedicate themselves to Christ what what happened what what were the results of your your ministry we want to see what what fruit are exhibited and demonstrated and again the scripture gives us several examples of this let's talk about Matthew chapter 17 verses 17 through 20 Matthew 7 here's what it says even so every good tree bears good fruit but a bad tree Bears bad fruit that that's enough say I had to go no further right there if you're a good tree you ought to produce some good fruit verse 18 a good tree cannot bear bad fruit nor can a bad tree bear good fruit every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire therefore verse 30 20 by their fruit you will know them it is the fruit that you produce how many souls have God use you to get saved how many lives have been transformed because of the mantle that's on your life I didn't hear you how many people have you went to Jesus how many people because of the passion and the gifting and the anointing on your life have you won to the kingdom of God Matthew chapter 13 verse 23 says this but he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it who indeed bears fruit and produces some a hundredfold some sixty some thirty what it all means is that there ought to be some level of fruitfulness from what it is that you're doing there'll be some some results and scripture says here when you've received the word and you you a good soil and you hear and understand it you will bear fruit you will bear fruit John 15 verse 16 says this you did not choose me but I chose you John 15:16 and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you so if you want to his children if you were one of the ones that Christ has chosen then the fact is that there ought to be some ultimately some fruit from what you have produced there should be some some some results so we're looking for fruit you remember first baptist church going on you want you want to get licensed I want to see some food that's how I know I wasn't there when the Lord called you I wasn't there so I can't I can't say whether he called you what I can't look for I here's what I am I'm a fruit inspector hallelujah I'm inspecting your fruit I want to see what the fruits are now let me close this teaching because I I just want to press you now and I got a few other verses I'm not that I don't have him on my PowerPoint but I want to give you to write it down if you will be faithful in little little God can trust you with more that's Matthew chapter 25 verses 14 through 29 that God's looking to seek and he how are you handling the little that he gave you and if he if he no he gave you a little he can trust you with it he will give you more so that's that's important and then and then and this is another thing I want to say that that it's probably the I hate to even talk about this but I think when you call to the ministry and you accept the role in the responsibility of ministry it's important that you'd be a person of faithfulness and commitment that may and said if you make a commitment you keep it Matthew 5:37 says let your yes be yes and you know know I'm somewhat a little frustrated with dealing even with pastors who say they're gonna come to a meeting but they don't come who say they're gonna do something but when it comes time to do it they're nowhere to be found God looking for people who he can trust I believe God has blessed my life in the ministry here because he knows I can be trusted that he knows that I'm gonna do what he tells me to do he knows that my guess would be yes and I know no I'm not gonna say yes or something and then don't do it I'm gonna keep and fulfill the mandates and the assignment that God has given for me to do also jet down James 5:12 it also says let your yes be yes and you know know be a person of your word be obedient and faithful to what it is that you said finally jot down luke 9:62 jot it down i'ma read it to you but just jot it down but above all my brethren do not swear either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath where yes to let your yes be yes and you know know that you fall into judgment and then the scripture goes on and says how important it is I think that's that's actually that verse I just read is James 5:12 and I copied the first the wrong verse let me let me read to you Luke 9 this passage in Luke give me just a moment luke 9:62 says this that's the danger doing stuff live when you mess up on your your your notes everybody get to hear that you screwed up I messed up but here's luke 9:62 it says no one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God you cannot be a person that starts off and then turn around and go back scripture says if you do that you're not fit you've just qualified yourself you've walked away turn turns your back don't do that I want to also say and this is something that's did in my heart if you have a call to ministry I think it's important that you put yourself in an environment to be trained I've met so many people who have not done that who have not put themselves in an environment to learn it's problematic it's discouraging you got to get in a place that you can make sure that you're rightly dividing the word of truth so much confusion in the kingdom of God because people are not rightly dividing the word of truth then that rightly interpreting scriptures I want to say to you if you have a call yeah in our church you you have to complete some classes we got to know that you were prepared that you're not out here spurting just anything but that in fact you are communicating and sharing the truth of the word of God and we want to make sure that that is in fact the responsibility that we've prepared you and make sure that you got it together and got it right so make sure that you put yourself in an environment to learn amen all right I'm going to take some questions I have a few on the from the internet and let me try to read these questions what if you don't have that burden there's no passion for anything enjoy and like things but nothing that draws me well here's what I would say to that question if the closer you get to Christ he's gonna give you a burden about something if you stand and far away leave you outside the fire you won't feel the fire hey if you had the fires in one room and you in another room you ain't gonna feel it develop your walk with God he'll give you a burden about something it may not be preaching but it'll be serving in some capacity capacity and some element in some environment but you got to get yourself connected and close to Christ he will Christ will give you a burden about something there's too much in the kingdom of God that needs to be done like I said you don't have to be necessarily be a but you might have a burden for seeing you know you might have a burden to be an usher you might have a burden to see people seated properly you might see being I should have served children in the children's ministry you might have a burden to help the people park the cars in the parking lot you've got to have some kind of a passion to help the church be what Christ has called the church to be and there's some role you're supposed to play and there's so many errands we got too many people sitting up in church I'm about to go off right now forgive me lord please don't let me cuss too many people sitting up in church receiving the benefit but ain't doing nothing you got to do something and somebody's got to give you a purpose and ask the Lord what does he want you to do and he will speak to you he'll give you a burden about something there's too much in the kingdom that needs to be done for that net not to be something on your heart to do so please get that get that get close to Jesus walk closer to him the closer you get he will give you a burden about something here's another question why do you think we wrestle with being able to withstand or face our circumstance stances when it arrives in our lives knowing that God allowed it to come into our life but yet whatever we were called to do is failing or not succeeding that's sure if I fully understand the question let me try that again why do I think we wrestle with being able to withstand or face our circumstances when it arise in our lives knowing that God allowed it okay got a lot of circumstance in your life and comes into your life but yet whatever you were called to do is failing or not succeeding there's a ton of reason why things might not succeed and I don't even I'd have to for something not to be working out or succeeded I'd have to talk to you and find out so many things are you submitted to Authority have you trained and prepared yourself or maybe you just went out there you didn't you didn't try to get yourself prepared already to do it there's so many reasons so maybe you or maybe you're in the wrong place and location and need to be in a different location there's a ton of reasons why something is going on might not be happening in your life so I think I understand the question but that's the best I know thank the Lord that you're able to withstand and face whatever challenges in your life but don't if you're not getting success or or if you're failing in what you feel is your call I would tell you this talk to your pastor or some spiritual leader in your church and let them try to help you discern what the reason for the failure is or why it's not working I know some people who feel just so passionate about a call or about a work of ministry I can go back and look over my life over my ministry pastoral life and see so many people who felt a call to do something but they didn't complete what me the pastor told them to do woohoo y'all need to write that write that down there they are resistant to submission to Authority and I can name multiple situations where they went out and did what they were doing and it never worked it failed some of them might be just you're not under 30 I think one of the questions here is is ministry always in the church your ministry might be outside of the church but you should always be under the authority of a pastor everybody should be under the authority of a local church and a senior pastor I believe you're outside of the will of God in doing that we have lots of people in our church who have personal ministries and I celebrate that I celebrate anybody who wants to do a personal ministry under the umbrella and under the authority of a local church I cover several people that do that and I give them parameters of what's acceptable what's good wasn't that good I tell them the way to do it how to do it how not to do it I give them guidelines so what I think is appropriate because you never want to do anything outside of the church that's going to hurt or diminish the effectiveness of the church the church is God's instrument to do his will on the planet on that God hito is his church but too many of these side ministries and not building up the church they're weakening the church and destroying the church so I would say to you if you're gonna do something it's got to be something that builds up the church and not hurts to church let me take one more I got a whole bunch of questions here if you have a call to the ministry where do you go you go to your pastor you go to your church and find out what's the process what do they what do they require a view to do to be licensed at your church we have a process around it classes you have to take or complete or test out of and I'm also looking at these other these five things I just mentioned to you I'll look at them I'm looking for the passion I'm looking for opportunities I'm looking for the testimony of your call to the ministry I'm looking here's another look for I look for God to speak to you or multiple occasions so I don't I don't feel that God will speak to you one time and don't say it again you read the scripture this several verses repeated throughout scripture some are verbatim God don't have a problem repeating himself so if you if you heard a voice you better ask God if that's the only time you heard it that's questionable you need to ask God God can you speak to me again he don't have no problems repeating himself and he will do that let me take one more question I keep having visions and dreams what do I do with that with what do I do with what I see well I think you should ask God to affirm what it is he wants you to do based on those visions and dreams see and ask him God are these visions and dreams from you some visions and dreams didn't come from God some mama came from wood you ate before you want to be but you need to ask God and say to him Lord if that's you and what it is you want me to do please speak to me clearly again God will not have a problem with that
