welcome to South Carolina got empty right seat so let's head on up to Cleveland Ohio for some great training beautiful blue skies here a little windy up top so 111 knots coming out of the West so that's always fun then on the way down early icing and now rain and then some nice healthy winds coming off the lake to make a nice right crosswind Landing into Cleveland Ohio a great airplane a lot of fun to fly and obviously handles quite well so uh hope you enjoyed the right seats open and let's take a look at the entire flight so join me on the flight up all right guys welcome board uh at Lawrence County I've dropped off the boss lady uh for a uh an event she is participating in and now we are going to head on up to uh safety conference so stall's Heats are on pedo Heats are on windshield Heats are on stream and taxi which is kind of like a recognition light is on I'm going to verify those with an amp meter all of those are working properly come down if I have to stay alive all right so pitch trim is set aileron trim is uh elevator excuse me Rudder trim the other elevator for some people is 20 degrees of flaps I see 20 degrees indicated uh power is going to come up in just a second and once I make my call to get on the runway and we'll uh bring it up to flight idle so it should be about an hour 30 minute flight and let's ride along as we put alarm traffic Mitsubishi 17270 I'll be departing Runway two six that'll be a right turnout those are set ignition is the auto transponder is on lead areas both everything looks good panel is clear final is clear it's a 3 800 foot to go it's a relatively short Runway so we're going to take all of all of it we can but thankfully we we did offload a fair amount of stuff all right I'm gonna run the power up all right everything is set one more once over the board and brick release power is set AirSpeed to live path two 100 five here's coming up with positive rate accelerating through 125 it's first Notch collapse I'm back on the torque a little bit continuing the flaps for me I'll trim the 160. and then we'll start a right turn more traffic Mitsubishi 17270 it's going to be departing the pattern right turnout to the north let's double check our power everything looks good temperatures look good old pressure looks good ball does not look good let's fix that trim one thing at a time there we go five miles from range turn to left heading to five zero maintain two thousand five hundred until five was clear to iOS Runway two two approach siblings 146 and we just had a massive wind shift on the airport the wind three five zero at two five Gus three five um I think we're just going to take you off the approach for now so fly hitting two two zero climb maintain three thousand approach clearance canceled oh that's unfortunate and I can see the winds are pushing us a little bit to the left so despite that in 146. this 3000 is fine um I can let you come in on the approach but that's a pretty massive Tailwind do that because our indicator AirSpeed set siblings 146 affirmative and two two zero heading and three thousand and uh what's that area precipitation looks like I got for 12 o'clock yeah we want a DV around that as well 146 Roger thank you and the current airport wind now three four zero at two six three six I'll stay with us right now for the climb all right I'll pause coming on through 5000. helicopter going great standby siblings 146 fighting one eight zero and uh once the area of weather moves off the airport we'll see what the wind looks like but it's looking like it's probably going to have to be around like four 80 departure radar contacts come and maintain 5000 and clear direct boba correction mom turn left heading one three throwing a hover re round for you shortly I'm right number eight two four seven Tango clear direct uh all right guys um I had a couple of uh comments people asked about um some of the pre-flight planning um I'm gonna try to put together a video about that but um what I thought I'd also share is uh as I'm getting close to airport um what I can do is pop in here uh four flights pretty amazing tool for us and what you'll see here is I get the information about the airport obviously before we took off obviously I looked at the notems uh to see if there's any significant problems on the airport important things like you know hey runway's closed don't land here um 48 46. so when we go over here to weather and then we can see that the airport's currently VFR you have your Metar at the top in green and then for the lazy old people like me um it does uh they uh they break it down so it is vfr's broken uh 3900 and broken 5500 then overcast 7 500 and light rain so one wonderful day so the wind's kind of moving uh so it's a 23 to 32 knots kind of makes me think there's probably a little rainstorm passing through some of the stuff we saw in the weather a minute ago um temperature to dew point are pretty far I'm okay with that humidity no big deal there I'm from the south uh it doesn't hurt his density out too so not issue for us today um one handy thing is uh it's always interesting because you know we all have the struggle right we we go okay well the winds were blah blah and which Runway do we want to land on uh again four flight kind of saves the day for us here you can switch over to runways they'll show us got zero six left and right and then two four uh and this looks like it's a nasty direct crosswind nothing like a 24 to 32 knot crosswind um giving you a one knot headwind component so I'm not sure I'd really want to be landing right now so I'm glad I'm about an hour away so hopefully that will improve um we can kind of go through and look at the airport information the diagrams about it all the departure arrival charts are in here as well and of course the approaches uh uh should we need one today which we might you never know uh and also a little bit about the uh the actual Runway so uh obviously uh they got two runways there I got a 6600 footer and I call it 5200 footer so those are kind of either one's gonna be fine for us uh we are staying at signature and they do highlight how wonderful fuel prices are right now so almost eight bucks for gas there so that's gonna be wonderful uh but we're gonna have some great training so it'll be worth it uh so again so go go through here um go back to the info section this is where I can look at my Edis ahead of time and go ahead and have that set in the radio so uh you'll notice on on the videos you'll see that uh a lot of times you see uh 121.5 which is guard our emergency frequency which we all listen to kind of in route okay somebody needs something or we can help out as we get closer it's all about me so I'll go ahead and get uh Adis dialed up in our number two radio and then kind of go through anything here so ground is going to be 0.9 um a little bit of a slang there most of the time the ground frequencies on airports are going to be 121 points something and therefore 0.9.8.7 kind of is a slang that gets used then obviously we have the tower so Towers operating uh Monday through Friday we are on a Thursday so they're going to close up tonight at 11 o'clock so that should not be a problem Cincinnati I'll tell her three zero zero four all the usual things and then here we go traffic pattern uh so 2008 84 feet is where we would expect to be most likely we're going to be uh headings and altitude so probably not going to be circling and doing a standard pattern as we come in today so pretty cool um pretty handy and uh obviously it shows where signature is where we need to end up so depending on which Runway we end up with I'll know if I need a left turn right turn not a terribly big airport so I should even I should be able to find my way uh given it's the only FBO I think um so if nothing else to run up to the control Towers shout up there and they'll tell you where to go so it's kind of pretty simple um so yeah uh super useful tool and yeah kind of what we expected uh so some weather that's kind of working its way through there uh we put that in animation so it's like coming off the uh kind of a lake there so hopefully that will uh move on and uh we won't have to have that much fun but you never know so anyway uh for those guys who are asking that's kind of how that works and uh super useful tool for flights uh it's been a great product it's really evolved over the time I'll get into a pre-flight stuff uh November 1727 Sierra contact in the center one two five point five five to 17 4 000. yeah instead of maintain four thousands of kilo hour what was the speed restriction sir 7q office seven uh 170 please dude you're doing it now you think on that 160 I'm gonna go back up to 110. okay now 165 once you're gonna be you're calling the uh uh Arrow that's at your 11 o'clock in five miles so if you want to go all the way back to 160 150 that works out just even better for me
