I Spent $1,500.00 for Dirt!?

[Music] hey everyone welcome back to another episode of gold prospecting at home this is episode number 50 and I'm actually surprised I made it this far doing paydirt reviews the reason I started doing it was because I needed to fill gaps between my real adventures which is you know gold prospecting on the rivers and traveling around to different countries and stuff can't do that all the time it gets expensive weather limits me on you know being able to dig and everything so I started buying pay dirt sand making these reviews back at the end of 2017 I made a video on the linch mining nugget bucket cost me about a thousand dollars and the video did really well as you can see here it's got over a million views a lot of people seem to like it a lot of people seem to not like it but either way that video has generated me enough money to go ahead and buy another one I didn't buy exactly the same thing about one that's actually more expensive this time but at least the new one is guaranteed an ounce of gold so the new one cost me about fourteen hundred and sixty dollars that's with a 20% discount normally a thing costs like almost $1,900 the shipping is $40 so I ended up paying exactly fifteen hundred dollars now remember I could have bought this myself and saved myself about seventy five dollars being a veteran but I did not I had somebody else order this for me that way just in case Lynch mining knew who I was and they might know who I am because of that million view video I wanted it to be an unbiased video they have no idea that this pay dirt was going to a Youtube reviewer and possibly get another million views who knows as you can see here it's a 2.5 gallon bucket of unclassified material it's originally eighteen hundred and twenty-five dollars and there's at least one ounce of gold in each bucket guaranteed the good thing about this is I am NOT going to get hosed like I did in the last video here at least I'm going to get you know gold is worth you know twelve hundred and seventy nine dollars an ounce the purity is going to be around 18 karat we'll test it at the end of the video just to make sure and then we'll calculate the value at the end and also any kind of gold nuggets actually do hold the pre you can add like $10 to spot value or if they're really cool-looking you can even add more money and the nuggets themselves are sometimes more valuable than you know scrap price so alright this is going to be kind of a longer video I don't want to waste too much time let's take this nugget bucket out to the pana station we'll open it up we'll go through it and we'll see what we got all right here it is it's all shrink-wrapped chop it open here Wow now that is a nugget bucket just for size comparison this is the original one over here on the left and this is the big one here this is the new one much bigger this thing weighs 30 pounds and they don't make it easy to open but that's good let's flip the lid and see if there's anything in the lid you know there is now normally I would spray this out with my squirt bottle to get everything I'm actually gonna wait on that because I don't want to get any of this wet because we're gonna separate all the magnetite with a magnet this stuff is actually a little bit damp it's not a it's not completely dry which is surprising stuff is actually a little bit damp alright we'll get that later this is what it looks like a lot of red gravel in there this stuff is from Arizona I'm guessing out of dry creek beds I think the smart thing here is to classify this stuff a bunch of different time so I actually have a few different arbor fabricating classifiers that we'll be using this is a quarter-inch I have an 8 inch I even have a 1/2 inch we're going to go ahead and classify this stuff down to those three and probably even more than that just because we have 30 pounds of dirt here alright first we're going to do the half-inch [Music] right right here I'm seeing my first glimpse of some gold or hold it over the classifier just in case but right there we've got a little picker right there pretty big picker that's actually a nugget right there I would say all right let's keep going here we'll get all that gold and all those nuggets and everything during the panning process here's another one look at that that is a nice chunk of gold right there alright bucket is empty let's see if there's any half-inch nuggets in here not seeing any right off the bat that's okay was not expecting something like that I'm nugget that big if it weighed anywhere close to an ounce it would be you know it would pay for the bucket that would be nice though a nugget that size that'd be worth about a thousand bucks plus there's all our half-inch stuff next we're gonna go ahead and classify it two quarter inch and then eight inch are these these classifiers are made by arbor fabricating you guys are interested in these Arbor fabricating classifiers I actually helped design these bottom there but these are you know the best in the world so I definitely I'm gonna go ahead and I'm going to classify this stuff down to quarter inch and then eighth inch and then if I see anything extravagant in the meantime I will let you know all right I do see something awesome right here a big plus quarter inch and nugget right there wow that is a nice piece of gold I can see another one right here Wow there's another one right here I mean trying to find something like this in nature it's not easy here's another one if I ever found something like this or any of these on the river I would be freaking out alright that's our quarter-inch stuff [Music] there's a couple Pickers in this one right there nice Pickers right there hm so as far as what goes into the product do they know what's going into it yes they absolutely have to know especially for this they guarantee a certain amount of gold so they they have to put at least that one ounce in here with the other bucket where there's no guaranteed amount that one I'm sure they know exactly how much gold is going into that as well for the reason that they don't put too much in it I don't think they want to lose money you know that's not a good way to run a business but I've learned over the the past two years of doing these reviews that when you get a guaranteed amount that's usually your best way to go a lot of Pickers in this one look at this there's a flat picker right there that was probably jammed inside of a crevasse and some bedrock you see that nice and flat there's a really really round one that one rolled down a river for a couple hundred years that when there's a little more rough there's another one as far as buying one of these for investing in gold I would not advise to do that every pay dirt I've done except for maybe one or two I've actually lost money and I expected to I never expected to make money on these I basically do these so you don't have to I'm actually taking one for the team on these videos you're much better off buying gold bullion or gold coins in order to invest you can count on losing money whenever you'd buy one of these these are mainly for fun and like I said I'm basically doing these so you don't have to this is the last of the 8-inch I have been finding lots and lots of Pickers in here the next classifier we're going to use is the all famous dollar store kitchen strainer that's a bit smaller than the 8-inch probably about half the size [Music] all right we're just finishing up the kitchen strainer sighs all right so we've already gone through four classifications and we still have a lot of dirt left to go next we're going to use the 20 mesh hair from our bure fabricating they made these special for me I don't use them very often because they're kind of big but I think this nugget buckets gonna be a perfect scenario to use one of these [Music] you still have a good amount to go we are down to the 400 mesh here this is another one of our burr fabricating custom jabbers here for me wow this is the first classification where I'm going through it and I can see all the little pieces of gold I might be able to see them here there's a lot of fine gold in here I think this might be the last classification and I'll just have a bunch of plus and minus look at all that stuff are there that's all gold right there wow that's crazy alright here we have six different classifications from our half inch all the way down to actually we have this is everything - the 400 mesh so there's seven different classifications here the next thing I want to do is I want to take my magnet and this is a silver dollar tube there's links in the description to everything I use in these videos by the way but I'm going to use my magnet here to separate all the magnetic stuff from all these different classifications once I'm done with that I'll show you guys all the magnetic stuff I'm going to put in this blue pan right here [Music] [Music] the smart thing to do is after I'm done doing this I go over this again because this is actually trapping some dirt and possibly some fine gold so I want to make sure everything that I grabbed out of my classified stuff I want to go over it like two or three times because look if I take the magnet to this it'll leave a lot of stuff behind including fine gold lots of magnetic stuff in here [Music] [Music] all right so after about an hour and a half of separating magnetic stuff this is all of our magnetic stuff that we got given these bigger rocks they all came up with the magnet I went over three times minimum and this is everything that was magnetic so let's give you an idea of what we got okay so now for our biggest classifications here the plus happened you know the plus quarter-inch and the plus eighth inch I think this stuff here will be able to easily just look through it throw away the big rock and pick out the Nuggets and Pickers so I'm pretty sure there's nothing in the plus 1/2 inch here I do want to triple check it though yeah unfortunately there's no nuggets in here so that's going to go into our tailings bin and then here an hour-plus quarter-inch all right there we go nugget number one and here at the bottom of this pan we've got our other Nuggets so looks like we got four nice nuggets at this entire bucket we know that there's nothing bigger than those [Music] now this finer stuff it's gonna take a little bit longer let's do a little bit at a time [Music] hey there we go another one couple more here we could pick out and even more man now even though this product cost me fifteen hundred dollars and I'm only guaranteed about you know $1,300 in gold maybe a little less honestly this is this is about two hundred and fifty dollars worth of fun I would say yeah this is totally a lot of fun and another here's that flat picker that crevice picker crevice picker oh my guess just handful after handful of this stuff over here I'm just getting you know Pickers left and right you gotta be careful though only put a little bit in there at a time of course I'm gonna actually pan this stuff with water at the very end just to be sure I don't miss anything because who knows what if one of these nuggets are covered in mud or dirt or something okay so that's pretty nice that's what we got out of our three biggest classifications just big hunks of gold working 15 16 of them I would guess that way is pretty close to a half ounce right there so I guess the rest of that ounce is a little gonna be fine stuff all right let's get to panning we have 30 pounds of pay dirt to pan out and I don't think rusty rusty is gonna hold up for that so we're gonna use his bigger cousin from autozone will add some jet dry that breaks the surface tension of the water so any really fine small gold does not float away on the surface tension all right the first thing I want to pan out is the tailings this is all the stuff that we've been picking through by hand now all the big stuff just to make sure that there's no gold covered in mud or dirt or anything just to be sure so that's good we didn't miss any gold out of the tailings here okay next in line we have I think this is the plus kitchen strainer stuff we'll just do a scoop full at a time here let's see how we're doing here see what we got here holy cow whoa I was not expecting that much gold and that was just one small scoop when you guys saw how much of this I put in there and I got a lot to go I just want to show exactly how much I'm taking per scoop just that much I check it out [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay so the second scoop did not have nearly as much as the first one this one here we got four little pieces I think the first one we had like 20 and of course at the end I'm gonna double-check all the tailings once again because I'm sure I'm probably missing some real fine gold because honestly right now my eyes are only open for the bigger gold some small flower gold could have gotten through because we did not classify this stuff wet so yeah I'm gonna go through it again make sure I get all the flower gold and everything if there is any and once again we got a whole bunch of gold in this pan man that is that's a couple grams of gold right there I'm not seeing any flower gold though I don't I don't think any flower gold got through Wow and again I don't know probably 20 pieces right there [Music] [Applause] all right so I'm just finishing up the last of this stuff here the plus kitchen strainer listen to this you can hear the gold rattling around in here there's a lot of gold in here let's go ahead and dump it out and we'll take a look at the gold that we got from the plus kitchen strainer stuff [Music] [Music] and now that right there like a quarter ounce of gold at least that's awesome and they're all little round kickers every one of them I would consider pretty much every single one of those little Pickers because you could pick up any individual one easily all right onto the - kitchen strainer all right once again here we go small scoop see what kind of gold is in it [Music] I think this is the size where I was seeing all that all that gold can the classifier all that real fine gold really no gold yeah no gold in that first pen all right I'll keep you updated this is pan number four from the stuff here and as you'll see yep like just one or two pieces per scoop so far so actually unless it's at the bottom of that pan just not finding too much of it yet all right last pan of this stuff and funny enough I go inside to get some fresh water and my power goes out we're having a little rainstorm I don't know maybe somebody had a telephone pole all right this is the last of it here yeah there's not very much gold in this at all as far as the - kitchen strainer sighs here man maybe it's the size below this that I was seeing all that gold it must have been yeah there's nothing in here okay that's it right there all right next size [Music] oh yeah yep we found it just coming through on this on the edge here you can see all that gold right there [Applause] [Music] whoa yeah that looks pretty good to me now there's so much gold in this -20 mesh that I want to make sure that I at least pen at two or three times before I dump it out into my tailings bin because I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be missing a little piece okay almost every time this is what it must have been like for the old-timers the original the first guys that come here and start panning like you know just gold all over the place it's had millions of years to collect and those are the first guys to get it these are the amounts of gold that those guys were getting back in the early days up to 1/4 ounce per pan or more like just ridiculous amounts all right this is the end of our minus 20 mesh and by the way this is actually day two of filming this this nugget bucket is actually a lot of work there we go I've been getting about that much every pan and there was probably 10 pans okay so we still have the finest stuff to go through yet however I do still want to pan out this magnetic stuff this stuff is super heavy and if I find anything in it I'll let you know [Music] [Applause] I don't think there's going to be very much in it but we'll check it all all right we did not miss anything in the magnetic stuff let's do the finest stuff I'm not even gonna worry about changing the water that stuff is gonna be like mud anyway so I'm starting to rain a little bit harder now that side looked a little bit of this at a time see what kind of gold we get [Music] okay first pan let's see what is actually in here lots of blacks and and I saw one little flake gold so far yeah there's like I don't know I can see maybe three or four pieces of flower gold in there I don't think we're gonna find too much in this classification here I almost forgot to show you what I got out of that last classification and I know there's a lot oh look at all that Wow that looks pretty good to me I mean it's got some weight in my hand that's a couple grams that's that's like almost a quarter rounds right there as well that is a lot of gold all right so I'm done messing around I got my Garrett super SLUSA out there's so much of this superfine stuff that's just much easier if I remember correctly from my first Lynch mining Nuggets bucket video there was hardly anything in this classification so I'm not expecting too much here we're almost at the end we'll spin it around we'll take a look at it and we'll see what kind of flour golds in it [Music] yeah there's a couple flakes in here there's a few little flakes in here one there and a few up here at the top not very much of course there is like very very small microscopic gold and I do save all my tailings I'm not expecting too much from the last of this all right I'm gonna pan this out and then I'm gonna lay everything out that I panned out all the gold will dry it out we'll wait up and we'll get a value on it so only one two three four little pieces of fine gold here all right there it is that is what an over an ounce of gold looks like in your pan all the Nuggets all the fine stuff everything so here it is this is what you get from that product from lunch mining so next thing we do is we dry it out and we're gonna actually weigh this stuff up get a value on it I still want to test one of these nuggets and scratch it out and see the carat value see how pure it is and that'll give us a better idea of how much this stuff is actually worth okay here's all the gold dried out we're going to grab one of these nuggets we're gonna test it for carrot puree so basically you just scratch it out on this little stone here we drip some acid of different strengths in lines across it if that gold disappears from this test solution then that gold is less than 10 karat gold the gold is not disappeared so let's do 14 karat now I'm guessing it's gonna be about 18 I've tested gold from Arizona before and I've gotten about 18 karat 14 is staying there and 18 I think it's gonna disappear down here as you can see the 18 karat down here at the bottom is turning black it's dissolving and the 10 and 14 karat are staying that means that this gold is less than 18 karat purity all right well zero it out here I want to keep everything above this pan just in case we draw up any and here we go I lost two little pieces here 1.99 ounces Wow what is that in grams so we're looking at 31 point two grams holy cow that's a lot of gold let's see what the value is all right here we go 31 point two grams of 18 karat gold we're gonna go ahead and calculate the gold scrap value I just wanted to show off these nuggets once again here I mean that was that was pretty awesome yeah trying to find
