I put a Harbor Freight Motor (212cc) in my Harley Davidson EG

we read your comments and we are finally doing what everyone's been asking us to do we put a harbor for 8 to 12 predator engine into a harley-davidson ultra classic [Music] [Music] so what new trend is happening in the motorcycle community where people are taking out their big giant motors and replacing them with smaller more efficient Chinese motors that they're buying for like $120 from Harbor Freight case in point look at this dinosaur what idiot took this already giant 110 cubic inch CVO motor and then decided to put a turbocharger on it wasting a lot of money with it with the amount of money that he spent modifying this bike with the turbo and then prepping it for the modification he could have bought a thousand of these motors a thousand motor he could have bought a new motor every time he went and rode the bike for a thousand times and the fact of the matter is nobody wants horsepower any more well in that big horsepower of course and this right here is the future of motorcycles alright so now you guys know why we did this let me show you guys how we did this so we bought this 1995 Harley Davidson ultra classic at the auction with a hundred one hundred forty two thousand miles on it and I think we paid around two thousand dollars for it we only saw pictures of it on the Internet so unbeknownst to us no one saw the mural that was on the front of the bike but since we are all married Christian men we had to make a few changes to it also unbeknownst to us this bike came with a Rev tach 110 cubic inch motor and it Rev tech six-speed transmission we took out that wrote that 110 Rev tach engine and we replace it with a 6.5 horsepower single cylinder off the Harbor Freight shelf pool start engine now I have to admit because we always want a little bit more power we did modify this engine we spend about $400 when carburetor and flywheel and crank and you know did a lot of work to it so now it's supposed to be apparently pushing out around 18 horsepower so just to put this into a little bit of perspective we took a hundred ten cubic inch motor and replaced it with a twelve cubic inch motor and to introduce you to the guy who did it we got Craig pretty exciting project Craig it was it was fun yet the best thing about it is it looks like there's no motor in it for me normally it would normally look like this the inner takes of the whole thing but the engine is always pretty much the same size of the transmission he wants tell us what you did here Craig pretty much it was just a drop-in installation we took out the old engine will you reuse the turnbuckles for some motor mounts turned the engine on its side and put it vertically and it was just a matter of figuring out how to make the mechanics work so we have a custom throttle linkage with an exhaust spring and a piece of tape wire filler for a for a rod custom intake custom exhaust off of a drift trike that was all pretty simple so here's where the actual magic happens we're basically using off-the-shelf parts we're running a Harley 22 to that act six-speed and then we converted to chain drive we took the belt drive off and converted to chain drive and just so we didn't really piss off the Harley guys we made sure it's still a leak the oil kind of has - now all the electronics on this bike still work just like it would just like it normally would we still have radio function we still have the neutral lights of headlights but instead of instead of putting the personal start button just until we improve this by kinases better than stock we're going to compare this thing in five different categories one performance zero to 60 and top speed to fuel efficiency three public opinion for what cuz we've have a value that still has and then five functionality but when all said and done nothing says I'm a man like pool sergeant Harley Davidson this thing is awesome and I can't believe that even though the engine is one-tenth the size of what what normally would have it is twice as loud and vibrates ten times as much let's go see how this thing does in the 0-60 now keep in mind a stop one would be running a zero to sixteen around the seven second range in a superbike or like some of the world's fastest exotic cars or in this sub three second range one two three go all right all right we get it we don't need the timer anymore even though we have a six-speed transmission the gearing is not low enough for it to actually use them we never at 60 but reached a top speed of a whopping 53 miles per hour which which kind of it's kind of pretty awesome and it makes this thing highway ready next to see what type of miles per gallon it's getting we disconnected the fuel tank and installed this motion Pro IV bottle then with 2,000 cc's of fuel and drove it until it ran out now keep in mind the stock version of this bike on average gets around 35 to 38 miles per gallon with this tiny little super efficient engine we got a whopping 37 miles per gallon this is the same as stock next we wanted to see how people reacted to this Frankenstein bike and since the predator two-on-two motor that we used in it is a clone of a Honda engine we decided to show it to our friends at the local Honda dealership hey my bikes making a funny noise I want to see what you thought it what you think it is [Music] marketed territory you're crazy Sean how cool is that I've never seen you such a thing you're not so the Exile is kind of Riedel itself apart it's fairly fairly normal normal Harbor Davidson issues normal yeah it's it's morally thing you know things rattle loose honestly it was pretty decent 950 950 miles an hour oh there were times where I was going like 50 to catch up to you I'm like dude he's moving yeah but I'm a pretty good that's pretty about it are you sure you don't want to take this thing first day I've got little boy bikes are like having a snow blower on a blizzard that is just too neat Sean I really really wish I could how cool would it be to ride down this terrific opponent with your surgery right right that would just be so sick that would be great did you think this one up this way you guys converted we've always week we actually took out a 110 Revtech engine to put that in there no way Wow Wow that's a super dental Harbor great Brenner 212 motor noise do you fifty month 53 miles an hour cool it's a lot of weight it took up to the primaries we have all six feet and everything we think that I think somebody had too much time on their hands efficiency needs a one cylinder motor that's a uh that's a Harbor Freight it's a Harvard Davidson Harbor Davidson well I guess you need to rebrand it right [Music] we also posted it on the roughest most exclusive harley-davidson Facebook group around the I love my Harley no rules page and if you didn't hear me the first time this Facebook page has no rules it's even in the name these guys were gonna hate it and me for doing this in this bike but after posting it they loved it everyone loves this bike except for this guy now let's look at the value of this bike we paid $2,200 for this at a motorcycle auction and had a one hundred forty two thousand miles and one of the worst condition reports I have ever seen but the bike actually wasn't that bad and this auction gives everything a bad condition report just to cover themselves since improving the bike by putting a brand new motor in it we must have added some value to it so I listened it on an online motorcycle trade website and an hour later we got an email saying that my bike is as of no value to them the next was a functionality test so we decided we were gonna sign up for GrubHub and put the bike to the test and make some money with it to prove how reliable this thing really is and then this happened [Music] well there's your typical harley-davidson intake manifold broke Wow partly because he had to he had to rig that thing up yeah because the engine normally sits in a different way yeah dang means it's this way yeah extend it out so it's a lot more weight on there than what normally should be and like normal I had a really hard time accepting defeat this is not the first bike I've pushed home and God willing it won't be the last I was reminded of one of my favorite verses while I was walking back to the shop when I'm afraid I will put my trust in you so I'm 56 3 we proved that this can be done that you can put a $120 Harbor Freight and you do a couple mods to it and then stick it in a Harley and it actually works I'm very impressed with the results but it's not the last day you've seen of the harbour Davidson we're gonna fix the leaks we're gonna button up a few things and we're gonna get some custom sprockets for it we will fix it it will be better and it will be back All jokes aside, I think it's showing how far technology has come. There has to be a decent, cheap Chinese motor that you could use to get some respectable performance out of one of these. If you can get a full dress Harley (albeit with some cosmetic issues) for 2 grand and then slap a sub-$500 reliable motor into it, you've kind of changed the game I think.

Actually I think in some places you can drive anything that have less then 100cc at 14yrs old.. so the idea isnt that bad if you have a kid that love harleys XD
