I Made Minecraft Fun Again

I have a question that you don't know the answer to what makes Minecraft fun what makes Minecraft fun uh what what what what um what do you mean to be fair I don't know the answer to it either Minecraft has felt boring recently but I'm gonna change that I'm forcing myself to keep playing Minecraft until I figure out what makes this game fun again and while doing so I'm gonna do some things that I've never done before like asking this same question to some of the biggest YouTubers in the world flying in virtual reality and so much more I'm especially excited about the flying thing because I think it'll actually feel like I'm flying so I hopped straight into a VR Minecraft world whoa obviously I could have just loaded up a creative world and put on an elytra but what's the fun in that I want to beat the game in VR and actually earn it so I began Gathering some of the basics whoa that looks so cool it's so weird because I'm so used to like moving my mouse around but now I move my head how however something that they don't tell you about VR Minecraft is that if you're not used to it you get motion sick badly oh my gosh I'm gonna get so sick from this wait how do I get sound dude I was on the verge of passing out so I took off my headset and called up one of my friends maybe if I asked him what made this game fun he'd give me the answer probably just how much you can do this is just a world of blocks but there's a lot of things you can do and when sandiction offered to show me around his two-year hardcore world I finally understood what he meant the interesting things actually start right down here oh my gosh this is the here's where all the action is right this is this is one of the things you could do you could trap trap all the mods I wouldn't recommend doing it but you can what's crazy about all of this is that he did it in survival I've seen larger and crazier builds and videos but there's something different about seeing all of this in person maybe sandiction was right maybe building crazy things was what made the game fun I was so inspired by him that I booted up my own creative world and just started building [Music] foreign but as I eventually got tired of flying around in Creative placing blocks I couldn't help but imagine what it would feel like to fly in virtual reality so I threw my VR headset back on and joined my world bro how is he so big bro to actually get my hands on an elytra the item that will let me fly there's a lot of things that I'll have to do and since I knew that some of them would be quite dangerous I set out to try and gather a full set of iron armor yeah well I guess let's just start on mine iron I made my way deeper into the cave picking up a few pieces of iron along the way and it wasn't long until I stumbled across a huge opening yo oh my gosh this okay I could actually die here in any other world I would have never taken a risk like this but I'm trying to have fun and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to have that feeling again this is terrifying okay they're all coming at me oh no [Music] there's so many of them you know let me out no I don't want to be here anymore I don't want to be here anymore please just let me out leave me alone leave me alone spider get out by some miracle I managed to make it out of the cave alive with all of the iron I need yes oh my gosh I get to see the light of day and that's when I was hit by a wave of motion sickness this was the opposite of fun in fact I felt so sick that I just decided to go to bed for the night but I kept my headset on for some reason I came to the weird conclusion that if I slept in VR I'd be more used to it the next day and I'm not even joking that night I had this dream where I grew a pair of wings and flew to this city in the sky I'm going crazy dude I probably was but I had this gut feeling that flying in VR would actually make this game fun again I need it in a Lightroom and since I felt ready to enter the nether I decided to just go for it yes we have a portal the first few minutes were relatively peaceful I began exploring on foot in search of another Fortress but then disaster struck could I go down here there should be quite a bit of damage oh no this is not good it's not good I'm dead I'm so dead no no please no no I needed to get my gear back but as soon as I got back to where I died I lost it all again and again and again no I'm just dead I'm dead I am dead I completely gave up out of frustration I didn't even know what to think I truly thought that VR would be this fun and new experience but if anything it was making me hate this game I felt like I was no closer to finding the answer to my question than I had been at the beginning of this challenge but I had a plan what makes Minecraft fun I mean I'd say the other players because you don't really have the same experience in a single player world as you would with like in multiplayer to take my mind off of what had just happened in VR he and his friends decided to hop on a mini game server with me whoever places the best out of us I'll PayPal you 50 bucks dude there's no way I just failed that oh no this might be the round I get out no I spell oh I figured my friend clown Pierce would have a similar answer to shark because he's played on countless servers but I was a bit taken aback by what he said the the experience that I find really fun in Minecraft is is very hard to find it's a dying it's a dying server breed clown spent the next half hour searching for something and although I didn't know what to expect he eventually sent me the IP to a server you might know the server it's pretty popular turn off your chat okay I wasn't really sure what clown was trying to prove we were stranded in the middle of A griefed Anarchy server surrounded by lava casts and Withers but I was still interested in hearing what he had to say so the two of us met up and decided to venture out into the Wilderness oh I can see your parents oh my gosh dude thank God I thought this highway looked interesting because it led into The Nether oh look there they are the Squirtles okay let's let's just go let's see how far we can take this we exited a portal far out found a bed set our response and began mining some trees which was when clown proceeded to do this yo what what's that for you just got bent trapped idiot you just got back trapped I genuinely thought I just wasted an hour of my life but clown explained himself clown loved this game not just for the depth and competitiveness of multiplayer but for the challenge in bouncing back from a loss and that's when it hit me there was no reason for me to be upset after losing everything on my world because the true fun was recovering from that so that's exactly what I did since I'm so bad at VR I created a huge cushion I do that by trading with villagers and yes this was an incredibly boring process I spent hours upon hours planting pumpkins mining them and then exchanging them just to get my villagers to unlock a few more trades oh my gosh oh my gosh dude but it was fun to say the least I felt like I was making actual progress and in all honesty I was no no but thankfully I managed to breed some more villagers and get back on track yeah it wasn't long before I was fully equipped in diamond armor and ready to fight the blazes the first out of four major steps in getting an elytra this is where I had failed last time but with no choice I set out in search of a fortress and soon enough I found one there it is [Music] we're in all right weapons out with my new armor weapons and food source I Breeze through the blaze room and soon found myself with more blaze rods than I would ever get on both that's 24 place next I needed ender pearls there were a few close calls I had with Enderman but in a little under an hour I'd collected enough to make my way to the end portal I think it was at this moment when I truly realized how close I was to actually flying in VR it was a surreal moment where I knew that my journey in this world was coming to an end and to my surprise I didn't want it to end so much so that I took off my headset and called up another friend what makes Minecraft fun I think Minecraft is fun because unlimited possibility check this out okay so come on blog let's see if they're enabled oh my gosh yo do these despawn no no you're gonna crash oh my gosh you're gonna crash my game teacher look at that I'm knocking out I have zero frames now for the final trick we're spawning new mobs on each New Mob like this okay yeah he's gonna die instantly oh my God and of course he chose Ender Dragon your stuff was gone all right well that's yes that was that was pretty fun Minecraft you know has a lot of options then George said this yeah I mean I think I think doing it by yourself like is way less fun doing all this stuff with friends is more fun like being able to just mess around but at this point I wasn't even sure if that was true sure playing with other people was fun but I was having just as much fun on my own I didn't even know what to think I didn't have an answer to my question yet and I felt even more confused about it than I had been at the start but as George and I parted ways I was left with no choice but to go back in VR and depart from the village in search of a strong horse thrower first off good girl this way just stay on this path okay we'll be good it's this way I have a bed right okay perfect [Music] Village I'm gonna miss you [Music] I'll be back another day though I promise after around another hour of searching I'd finally made my way to the portal room this was the Gateway into the end Dimension this is it whoa before I come on let me set my bed actually it's getting pretty late so I think I'm gonna do this tomorrow but I have an idea not only did I sleep in a VR headset again that night but I decided to try to do something else that I never done before it's so like peaceful out here and I know I'm supposed to enjoy this but my mind is just like racing with is the dragon actually gonna do anything is the elytra actually going to change anything because the issue is it's not hard for me to have these moments that are fun but just overall it's boring and I feel like defeating something or just getting my hands on a set of wings isn't going to change anything but by the morning I'd made up my mind I'm gonna kill the dragon but before I do that here's a little update on the war the war to become the biggest bird on YouTube that is five months ago this YouTuber named flamingo called me out in one of his videos really you're gonna be a bird too I'm the bird and since that day I've been trying to become the most subscribed bird on YouTube currently we're trying to pass this YouTuber who's named after a pelican but there's a big problem last video we gained 40 000 subscribers and I think because of that Pelicans started pumping out shorts which are notorious for going viral and gaining a ton of subscribers but I think we can pass him without uploading a single short but I need your help if you subscribe right now we would literally pass him with this one video that's all it would take so subscribe we're gonna kill the dragon Dragon which was being healed by the crystals on each of these pillars I went for those first and disaster quickly struck no okay it's all good it's all good we're gonna recover we're gonna recover oh my gosh dude this is the most stressful thing I've ever done I couldn't afford to pan all my items were still there and as long as I stayed focused I knew that this wasn't over just yet nice or any more that I have to get I think that's it [Music] I was so close there were just a few more hits until the dragon was dead and then I could finally get in a light jumps this is it this is it we just we are Minecraft [Music] yeah but that's it just P Minecraft in VR in doing so I just opened up the portal to the elytra but in the back of my mind I had this sinking feeling that getting one wouldn't answer my question so for the final time I called up one of my friends all right I'm here to ask you a question okay what makes Minecraft fun uh Parker explained that to him having fun was all about making the game feel like you're playing it again for the first time and he quickly showed me what he meant by that here's what we're gonna do okay okay we're gonna dye that sheep green okay and then we're gonna take a cow and we're gonna take both of them up to that big hill up there we're gonna make a water slide and we're gonna push him down yeah I love the idea let's do it all right let's go eventually we got our hands on both a lime green sheep and a cow and you try to dye it as it's falling down yes did you see the slow falling you brought them up to the top of a mountain and constructed a water slide that led all the way down to the ocean all right start heading down to get the Second Source okay oh here it goes there right after this dude we gotta full send it you ready yeah I'm ready go let's go oh my God oh we go so fast it goes so fast let's go we did it well I've never done that before I'd say that was successful that was the success it was this oddly heartfelt moment and that's when I made up my mind I was going to get an elytra and do the very thing that I promised I would do I still didn't know what made this game fun I asked five other people and spent hours trying to progress in a world I built Mega structures stargazed in VR but in all honesty all I could hope for was that everything would click as soon as I flew for the first time yeah I'm bro I couldn't care less I booted up a creative world and threw on an elytra building all the way up to height limit wow wow all right are we ready yo it's not activating oh my dude I'm one dude this is insane like it and I'm flying around I flew all across the world skimming the water overlooking the forests and even flying past a waterfall and at that point I couldn't help but start smiling because I just answered my own question without even realizing it so what makes Minecraft fun is it the Limitless creativity that sandiction or George brought up was it the multiplayer factor of shark or clown or was it recruit's idea that you need to make the game feel original well it's none of those and I wish I could tell you what it is but I can't because some things are meant to be figured out on your own thank you [Music]
