I chewed 33 year old GUM for this flipbook 🤮

this is a pile of 33 year old bubble gum it came from these packs of garbage pail kids trading cards which had been unopened since the 1980s when i was a kid garbage pail kids trading cards were one of my very favorite things to collect and one of the coolest things they did is on the backs of some of the cards they printed single frames of a little flip book animation which they called flick it then if you were lucky enough to collect all the right cards you could stack them up and you would have yourself a little garbage pail kids flip book i only ever had one of these flip books and it was never complete i was missing a bunch of cards but i thought it was the coolest thing so today i'm going to open up all these garbage pail kids cards from the 1980s that have never been opened and see if i can hopefully find all five complete garbage pail kids flipbooks and i really want to know what chewing 30-year-old bubblegum is like i'm also going to be doing a part two of this video where i make my own garbage pail kids flipbooks and i can't wait to show you guys that video i have some really cool surprises to tell you about so uh stay tuned for that alright let's tear open this first box the cards in this box have not been opened in over 30 years [Music] i love how it says 25 cents cheap 1987 tops chewing gum ink do you know what that means there's a stick of gum inside this pack of cards that's 33 years old and look look the very first card it's a frame from a flicket flipbook how appropriate the gum is stuck to the card let's see if i can get this gum off of the card it cracked oh i got it off saved and there's like this rough like sugary coating on the card right there 33 year old pink bubble gum do you dare me i'm gonna eat it it feels very brittle okay you ready 33 year old gum it's not like gum anymore this is kind of gross i think it's more like the idea that it's so old and it's not behaving like gum should behave it's dissolving there's nothing gum-like about this it's just like disintegrated into it's like hard sugary pink powder [Music] there you go that's what 33 year old gum is like it taste it tasted fine it just tasted old and kind of dusty which is not something you should say about gum it doesn't hold up ah all right let's see if we can find these flip book cards skaldin alden oh man look whoa okay that first pack was like jackpot there were five five flipbook frames uh let's go to the next one okay look a whole intact piece of gum let's see any flip books oh more more more more this must be a really long flip book all right let's see where we're at for the flickit flip books [Music] there's number one i still feel weird for eating that gum it's like it okay another one off in one piece that one's kind of funny abstract art oh no no flipbook pages in that one oh there's another one okay we're getting there 40 quite a pile of wrappers oh well this one we need nope [Music] i'm getting a lot of these same ones over and over let's find out how many we are missing one two three four 29 so we're 75 of the way there almost i'm getting a little nervous [Music] there's kind of a smell to these too just like a bit of a old dusty sort of smell [Music] 34 we're missing six cards oh there's another one number 32 rip tile five more five more cards to go man so many duplicates let's figure out which ones we're missing so we're missing number five 22 23 24 and 28. five more just five cards is all we're missing 28 we needed that one ten packs left we need four cards still i don't know if those odds are good or not 27 oh 22 we needed that one [Music] number five there we go number five two more number 23 and 24. that would be a shame to not get those last two no i'm running low i'm only missing two cards well i guess i wasn't sure if i was gonna have to go through this entire box man these two cards must be super rare now look that piece of gum is that piece comes like a weird speck on it no no no 23 23 23 one card to go there are one two three four there's four packs left and there's only one missing card so oh come on it's right there all right let's check this out first you gotta enjoy [Music] gum is not supposed to sound like that okay let's check out the first garbage pail kids flipbook lovely and there you have the first garbage pail kids flickit flipbook all 40 cards intact you know what to be honest this is sort of how i feel right now after chewing that gum alright well that was series 11. uh before we open the series 12 box i just want to show you guys something i loved in my original collection so there were lots of cool things on the backs of the cards and one of those was the puzzles where you know the back of each card would have one piece of a big puzzle uh one card would show you what the complete puzzle looked like and then you would try to collect all those cards so this is one of them that i had and i remember i had every card except this one and i was never able to get it but i remember taping all these together like this and hanging this up on my bedroom wall and always wishing i had that that one missing card all right well let's unbox series 12 and we'll try to find the complete second [Music] flipbook oh that's gross that is a stick of gum that i am not going to eat uh did we get any flip book pages flick it look at pages you've got one two so i'm assuming that there's probably 40 frames again oh this one's already broken oh look just like that gross oh that one's pretty cool tin can that's gross i mean what do i expect really flipbook page football page i'm really curious what this is going to be this gum is so gross i'm relieved that this is not the pack that i open first because there's no way i'm putting this gum in my mouth that's disturbing my hands feel like they're coated in old dust and bubble gum particles which is kind of a weird combination see duplicates oh the teeth the teeth on that guy let's see where we're at here so we're over halfway there let's actually flip it let's flip it and see what we've got so far so it feels like it almost works just like this even with missing cards but we'll find the missing cards and smooth it out 21 there's another one okay well there's number three at 39 we needed that one i feel like i need to take a shower number one there it is it's too bad it's got the big gum spot on it but that's okay [Music] [Applause] one two i'm not sure if we're gonna make it on this one seven there's one we need and there's one we need six more to go and we've got oh we still got quite a few packs in there oh five here we go [Music] getting low it's stressful to get down to this this low in the box so close m35 there are two more cards two more cards to go i'm missing number nine and number 33. there's only two packs left oh come on probably not gonna make it no way 33 we're missing one card we've got all but one oh that was so close well we got very close we're only missing one card i don't think we'll notice it to be honest when we're flipping it all right let's take a look at this one and yeah you don't really actually notice that we're missing one frame uh but that is the flip book from series 12. all right well i washed my hands to get all the gum dust off my hands all right let's take a quick break from the unboxing madness i want to show you guys this really cool book that tops put out it's a garbage pail kids book with large prints of the first five garbage pail kids series the artwork and the history here is just amazing to look at it was really cool to read and there's even a throwback to a delicious stick of gum on the front cover and then this is the best part on the back a cracked piece of gum on the back i just think that's so cool oh and i also wanted to say if you guys are interested in following the latest garbage pail kids news i would highly recommend following the official facebook page that's a great resource all right let's get back to the unboxing this artwork is so gross i think of all the boxes this one grosses me out more than any other just looking at it makes me want to go wash my hands and then anytime you have artwork where they take the mouth and put it where the eyes should be it's like instantly horrifying hey look the gum just came right off and it looks relatively clean i'm still not going to eat anymore that is kind of awesome and gross now these are pretty good so far horus manure get it ma noah number four number 30. this uh these packs seem to be in a lot better condition than the last box that's pretty cool that's pretty funny and gross head buster um yeah yeah this must this pack must have been stored in a better like a more dry environment i don't know i like that one a lot that's really funny this one's gross but i also really like it whoa that one's cool oh gross wow that one is kind of amazing it's disgusting and pretty amazing it's like a yin yang uh let's do one more and then we'll see where we're when you buy garbage pill kid packs uh now they do not include gum probably for the better [Music] we're missing one card we're missing number 19 in the sequence what's the deal with only missing one card come on come on come on there's only one pack left come on come on dang it no so close well that seems to be the trend is that uh we can get all the cards except for one 39 out of 40. oh it's there i had 19. how did i miss it i must have not crossed it off the list so this one is actually complete uh let's check it out you gotta gotta feel kind of bad for that little girl this is very looney tunes-esque with the big mallet smash all right well my mountain of wrappers is growing and so is my pile of gum shall we keep going all right i think it's time for a quick cereal break crazy crisps with marshmallow barf bits let's see if it tastes like barf so it's it sounds like rice krispies i don't know if you can hear that that's actually really good i'm surprised kind of how good that is does not taste like puke do i watching people eat all right well let's open up the next box of cards we're up to series 14. this one didn't have shrink wrap on it here we go oh right off the bat that is an awesome card that's really cool and that is terrible [Music] ooh that one's pretty cool yeah there's good ones in this series looks like we've got some something happening with a toilet what's gonna happen whoa look at that that's awesome oh cold sore lenore no oh that's awesome like a little e.t let's do one more pack and then see where we're at for the flipbook there's number one only missing five cards this one has gone a lot faster than the other boxes which is nice oh 44. how long does this go there's another one this actually goes on longer come on i just need number four and number 30. four packs left still missing two cards probably not gonna show up i don't think they will but maybe are they in this last pack maybe come on oh are you kidding are you serious there's number four you guys there's no i this is these were the two missing cards number four and number 30. that's crazy i did not think that would happen that was literally literally the last pack in the box that's nuts let's take a look and see what the animation is very enthusiastic plunging this reminds me of the time when i was little and i flushed a golf ball down the toilet and the plumber had to come and my dad never let me hear the end of it all right well that's the first four of the garbage pill kids flickit flipbooks um i'm gonna go to sleep come back in the morning and then i'll open up the series 15 box and see if we can complete my uh incomplete flipbook that i had from when i was a kid so i just walked in this morning and um the whole place smells like musty old cardboard paper like you can tell that i spent all day in here yesterday opening old garbage pail kid cards it smells like it okay we're down to the last box uh before i open it up i just want to show you guys some of my favorite cards these are actually garbage bill kid cards that my son made for me recently snoozy suzy groan joan sad brad and boogie woogie the coolest part is he did a puzzle on the back of me so when you put them together we got my body just right oh and look the mouth first i thought those were teeth but those are bits of paper you can see that i've taken a big bite mark out of the flip book let's get into opening this last box of cards and uh seeing if i can complete my little flicket flip book that i had when i was a kid so this is what i've got so we're missing quite a bit of it okay so let's see how many i had 1 2 15 16 17 18 19 19 so i'm missing about half of them missing 21 cards so i'll go through i'm going to write down each number that i'm missing and then as i go through and open up the packs i'll just fill it in [Music] all right that's what we're missing all right here we go with the 15th series of cards as our last box and this was the last of the original series before garbage pill kids were discontinued until 2003 when they started coming out with the all-new series 1988. oh and i have that one i like that the shattered gum all right did we get any flipbook cards we got number six dog bites boyd that one is i like that one 25 that was one we were missing 37 and that one 12 we needed that one oh i have not seen that one before looks like we're missing seven cards still how many packs is it going to take [Music] okay just five cards left uh that's all we're missing from the series 15 flipbook and we've got a little less than half of the box left hopefully those are good odds 26 and that's one we're missing okay three cards only three cards to go [Music] it's always those last couple cards that like are so hard to get 13. i need 17 and 32. there's 32 one left and there it is number 17. those are both in the same pack that's crazy uh those should be all the missing cards and i had a bunch of cards left over 14 packs left this is so cool i've literally been waiting 32 years to see this flipbook in its finished form and now it's actually complete you know you think it's gross having him form the baseball out of snot and then throw this snot ball but somehow having the other kid's stomach open up as a big gaping mouth is even grosser well i only had to wait 32 years to see that flipbook uh complete that is awesome all right well there we go that's all five of the original garbage pail kids flickit books i was only missing one card out of all these cards so i'd say that's pretty good you know i i'd have to say my favorite uh is is the last one that we did just because that's the one that i had half of as a kid and now to see it completed is really awesome if not for that though if i had to pick a favorite i think this one with the baby puking this was the first one that they did and it's just kind of just kind of classic gross garbage pail kids uh so i like that one a lot and i also really love this one the unzipping his head and then atom bomb anyway so that's all five and after all of that let's take a look at how much gum i have now right so i think i want to try the gum one last time i'll give it one more shot let me pick one that doesn't look too horrid this is probably not a good idea this one seems this one seems reasonable i guess all right here we go 30 year old gum one more time [Music] it tastes it tastes like dust it tastes like sugary sweet dust like musty it's like i was eating like eating an old library book yeah 30 32 year old gum doesn't really hold up all right well um i think i'm gonna take all these old gum pieces my wife had the great idea to like put them in a tile mosaic and put them in a frame and i actually think that's a really awesome idea so i'm gonna do that all right well that is all five of the original garbage pail kids flip books before i go i just want to show you guys a few of the newest garbage pill kids cards these are from the late to school series from 2020. um i love the little box that they come in how it looks like this schoolhouse i just think that's so cool so yeah these are still available the book is out there the cereal there's lots of really cool merchandise that has come out this year because it's the 35th anniversary of garbage pail kids debut so yeah i'll put some links down below where you can go check out some of the
