you got about a four or five hour drive so it's the butt crack of dawn stuff just woke up wound up tight you're a morning person or did you find something to roll in right before our ride you did well looks like uh duff's getting a bath before we take off for the morning and hopefully we can find some crap because duff already found his you're such a meat hook gosh dang dog just what i wanted to do is give you a bath this morning to yourself that you got to get a bath before we even left town oh you're a stinky stinky stinky stinky dog doesn't look so good after getting groomed though and not dirty see how long this lasts you're such a goof such a goob all right we're gonna grab some sandwiches cameras maybe some tools and we're getting the french out of here here we go what do you think plenty of critters outside i'm sure i can find some poop to roll in oh yeah that was right between the tank and the house over there wow i just walked through the kitchen looked out the back window and the black bear goes by a big old black is that the first time you've seen one around here well uh yeah actually it is you never seen one as a kid or nothing no see we never had bears we didn't have moose we didn't have barely gonna have elk we got them all mountain lions we got big mountain lion that's a spooky one duff you just stay close 20 years this one like 8 9 something like that this one here um i know two would it be 90 90 or 91 i think this one is i not check her out we got hemis and flatheads and bangers 300 horse 327s big blocks 348 heads 409 intakes [Music] and a 1930 evinrude speedy4 horsepower it's a 1930 and it's 30 horsepower ranwin parked yeah exactly yes oh yeah these industrial model a engines that gets yeah they got those mallory ignitions on them i suppose i got a governor on the carburetor too then they must and then that fan is what you said was the giveaway oh well some of the cars had four blades too didn't they i think they were added because most of the cars have that little dinky tube well well yeah that one's got a four blade well that's a that's a bee because it's got the fuel pump yeah see that's to be one of the bees there's there's well two bees i think i have and this little aluminum bagel with the and all see that one would make a with that intake and that sticks here somewhere that would make a neat little light wrap rod so that got like a saginaw three or four speed on it yeah yep what's this okay air cooled yeah that's a one of the very earliest wisconsins it's an inline four cylinder and i i got it thinking that it's got the old twin disc clutch or whatever on it yep i was thinking you know air cooled probably wouldn't it's got a little fan on the end here but probably it wouldn't be too bad if a guy wanted to make some kind of a little round thing oh i thought maybe on a snow plane or something yeah or or a motorcycle or you know so what's the the big block it's a car big block no that's a it's a pickup 454 in it and they put they put those aluminum bell housings on there yeah it was on one pickups but it it ran really really well and when it got warmed up at us at 1500 rpm it's all written on the valve cover but you could hear a little bit of rod knock or piston slap and so i told the guy don't blow that thing up i want that motor because he was going to put a 350 of save gas well you know what you don't save gas pull on the trailer when you go to a small block yeah oh they got one of those little uh that's one of them actually they call 153s right iron duke yeah you got it for the manifolds and stuff though right simply because the boat motors don't have mountable they have water manifold you know oh and of course you end up with boat motors that's the thing you can get boat motors there because usually they're low hours too on a bullet that's the thing see you're keeping your flex hoses too no those are for you get out of here we're gonna load that one you're ready out of here there's that header for that vega right there that little ninja one oh it's neck down because because you know what i like almost as much as flexi hoses as headers and kregers yeah yeah craigers don't do me any so what's this [Music] got some slots on the back yeah slots on the front and back and i bought new tires so that i could get something big enough that one slowly goes down but it's spent all that money on tires and it leaks well i just probably just along the beach yeah you know but anyway you fit in that thing no i've never actually fired it back up i put it together long story short but i found i was in the hospital it was a touring body yep yeah it was a touring or well it could put a pickup or well usually pickups had a different back i think did they really yeah from the doors forward but okay i could be wrong no no and that and i don't know but what i had to do to this i was in minor hollow scrap and i'm standing while he's unloading i look clear across at a building and i see these two things running up like this with the bar across and little things sticking up and i thought that looks like like a hot rod frame there's a front end and they had it again so the rear end was in it and they just took it and said it it came in in scrap so i asked the question what what happened and said it's quite a story had a fiberglass 23t body and a great big engine and the guy was going to show off for him pull a wheelie flipped it right on top of himself upside down bang done oh he got really hurt and they got so they parted it out threw it away and they brought the rear end and the frame without the front end on it rear end on the frame the suspension in the scrap yard and sold for scrap and they just stood it over they thought somebody might want it so i said how much you gotta have what well i had like 15 cents a pound so 7.50 chassis yeah and then i just went ahead and built all that is is a as a 50 ford pickup front axle i built the plate or an f1 yeah yeah you're supposed to use the f1 shock mounts then yeah and and i could i would have except these are already on here and they swing over to where they belong that's good enough because i can go right here with a headlight bracket got a vega steering box that's a vegas steering box yep cross here it's a it's uh some parts from a 40 something ford i didn't steer clear across to that side i steered to the stair tube i got a long oh flexi hoses bug catchers yeah big tall little brock valve covers oh man i bet this thing is oh well chrome cover and this thing is going to be fast you got you got a footprint gas pedal for it too not yet it's in the box oh oh you got some i was gonna i was gonna tell the people on youtube they should mail us one yeah what do you think duff you'd like you'd look good riding in this thing yeah see you did all this work on this nice lower radiator hose and then you just gave it the ah eff it yeah a rapid removal if you want to blow this you took a perfectly good 30 3-4 truck grill but i want to tell you about this drug grill here's how this worked i thought it was a perfectly good one had the radiator in it standing by a garage wall at a guy's place and it looked good and i said hey i said you want to sell that oh yeah i'd sell that so i said how much from this far away you know and he says i don't know 50 bucks okay i give him the 50 bucks i go over and i get it loose and i pick it up in the bottom of god it's been down there on that under those eaves for so long that it was rotted off and then i just threw it in a pickup oh well you know so then i when i built this i started looking for a grill and i thought i could cut that off and rig it up on the bottom like that and it would work for this project i just got to get it back down to the shop and get we got yellow plug wires more more flex hoses must be good on gas it is you know yeah because it don't run we don't oh no it runs good oh it doesn't have a belt on it see this this is a factory gt four-speed fawzi factory 6302.78 68. 302 that was in here and had a a uh it added a new short block which was out of a car so anyway i started looking and i found an original block 302 block and i had mans do it mine or keynotes and we have the thermactor heads the correct intake even the correct 4100 carburetor so this car is actually can be a numbered car oh nice pretty cool oh of course it's a gt it says right there in the dust this thing's solid though it is and then they drove it with no water in it and so it smoked like you couldn't believe and it was a brand new gopher short block you remember the gophers yep go for another one when they went bad try five or fifty five six this is the ones that are heading for that black four door over here are these seven doors then these are 55 doors yeah same thing all right just going off the trim the 28 case 28 what do you call it a cross cross motor cross motors that's the engine sitting that way back there see crap so so the flywheel's over here um yeah the flywheel is right that whole mechanism goes around they got a flat belt pulley right on the flywheel and it has this toggle thing is the clutch oh she's quite the rig yeah how many horsepower is that compared to like that 36 john deere b well this is a four cylinder besides oh yeah but john here was two cylinder for eternity weren't they yeah well they they got they got and that's that's that's again a kind of a com a weird thing it's like a harley davidson both pistons are together i believe yeah that's why they make that noise you know like a 43 degree twin harley they're traveling on one crank bin but because it's in a circle one piston gets there just before the other one i didn't even see the johnson snowmobile but this thing this is original windshield and everything and and uh oh yeah the seats the seat is perfect you know and i i got this the ski horse a couple of kids that picked it up at a rummage sale for a little or nothing 150 bucks and then it stopped on them the clutch went together and it seized and they said wish i had our money back give them 150 bucks and ride home yeah 40 deluxe cool scoop i've had since i was 24 years old so six or eight years 74 yeah the interior's even kind of neat in this one i mean it's got the upper seats in the back and everything and tipped down from the side the potty chairs yeah and it's actually not that it hadn't been mouse infected or infested or anything so has it been a kind of a project since you got it i wanted one since i was a little kid and i could never find one and then a friend of mine that did this stuff a lot he he found this one and i got it for 45 dollars but that was a lot of money back then well it was more than i had had to get a loan from grandma well almost yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] this is my first car this was a it's a 28 29 rather briggs bodied model a four-door that i got from my uncle brush painted well it's not but it's it's just as bad as that when i was 16 i cut up my tent and made a top port oh it was all black and tight and everything it just sat so long now shrunk it's just all rotten but we took the dents out of this thing we didn't have body putty so we used steel liquid yeah all that stuff and then we painted the car with one of those vacuum cleaner deals where you just plug it in on the back and it closes the paint that's how this car got painted duff's disappointed in your painting capabilities you hook it to a vacuum cleaner you had it's a thing like a vacuum cleaner i think it is a vacuum cleaner but it had a attachment that went up and you just what you did you plugged the hose in and started spraying it didn't have any trigger or not anything it was just [Music] oh it looked like what is this thing james bond my son's tr7 convertible oh it's a triumph with a husband build engine v8 but he drove it from florida he bought it for 600 bucks in florida and drove it all the way up here somebody had already put the engine in down there and it and that the throttle stuck at about 60 and they have to shut it off and on cruise control yeah and so he said he'd just get her out on the four lane and then it rained and i said what he came home and he had a big knee board sticking up in the back and i said well how the hell do you do that and he said well when you're going like about 65 what it'll do pretty good he said work sticks he said then the water would go right up the windshield and hit about that much of the top of the board so i never got a drop i said yeah but we're about gas oh just keep watching for a gas station with a roof on it 35 ford flatbacks not many of them it's got the airplane steering wheel with brody knob yeah it must oh it's got a model a uh speedometer stuck in the middle of the dash [Music] [Music] see if that car would have been a bullet nose i probably would have been a little bit more excited just a little bit not much this is even a one of the starlight coupe is that what they call these bullet noses not bad chrome chrome strips for the glass i don't know why but they're in the somebody was telling me that you turn these around turn that put that on the front of a car and then it looks like you're in the cockpit of an airplane that's the whole plan to look like the jets that's solid too oh yes this was the best one i've ever found and i wanted a bullet nose just because i wanted one other one now that you had one you're over it well my my dad bought one for a second car it was a it was a three-speed column shift v8 289 and that thing would go you could get a v8 in these yeah i didn't think they'd come out until later oh these door handles are the coolest [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] this is this was the one i wanted to put before when i didn't a 409 and a merc you'd probably have one of the only ones in the country right right these are for going slow you could put your vega engine in this thing [Music] [Music] yes what's the story on what's this thing that is the one on old trouble on glenda montana and i got pictures of it actually in a book racing at drag strip someplace the guy sent me a deal to look it up and i found it wilbur and bev castile this is so is it is it all steel oh yeah yeah and it's it's no rust zero paid big money now for just the body you'd be broke man yeah but it this was raised in mine out of mine there's a guy named bill klein that owned it and then i think he had partners who are listed down the trunk lid right here okay and they are when they split up the partnership on the racing as i understand it they got the motor and rear end motor draining rear end and the other guy got the body so this body's moved around some but it sat for 30 some years and glenn dive in the shed so it's all it all needs to be well it needs to be you know redone yeah you need to put the so it was an automatic car when they were racing it i assume because it doesn't have a clutch pedal yeah but the interior was redone once it's all already so i'd get the seats done say decent and uh your pal dd speed shop would be all over this thing dd speed shop dd speed shop dd speed shop like dd speed shop uh tv speech tv speech i'll show you some other stuff i got that that dan could afford what is this thing that's a uh it's called a uh uh manasco the super pirate super pirate it's an aircraft engine and uh it was on the screen because everybody's just got an aircraft in it was this one of the ones you said you guys would go to denver and buy them for no they're over here on the floor i'll show you them when we go oh yeah is this like a belly tanker well it was part of one that somebody welded to make a tank oh no yeah that's a drop tank well i didn't even see the wood prop on there yeah yeah and this was that's the way i got it and it's not stuck and uh i bought it at an auction sale and i had a bot for just a few hundred and a guy came running in the door waving his hand with the guy on the phone no one of them deals but i still got it i still got it for way less than the actual retail the ryan aircrafts and stuff had these in them as i understand and when they went to hell they couldn't find the the super pirates anymore and they used the ones out of canada there are see the pistons hang down on these you know they're upside down so holds the cranks up here so you can look over the top of your fuselage in front of you yeah the old world war one ones the motors were like this thing yeah and look around them well they just i don't remember world war one no no i must have missed that just missed it too by a couple years so then they have to go up and take a gypsy moth motor which are all over canada from trainer plants and they put them in the manifolds and stuff are on the other side as i understand so the guys that have orion aircraft metal aircraft that they want to restore really want to find one of these so it's kind of like money in the bank so which we know you need more over well i knew that's why you're around you know i got a lot of guys say you're not going to paint that well i said yeah oh you can't take that after you're idiot you can't take it you're gonna paint that yeah it's gonna be shiny black [Music] there's plenty of other cars you could comment down below to not paint this car you're gonna paint something paint the fender in the door the right color on this thing this is gonna this is gonna get the whole work zone i wanna clear out the graft and get those those slots yeah are they 15s i love them yeah and and i have we got slots all over the place well i have several sets that's all slots back in there stacked up and more here stuff load them up yeah hiawatha doodlebug yeah well i don't know i there's no tag on it but that's what it looked like i thought looks like there's a tag from here oh down there yeah it's a hiawatha doodlebug because he called it a dude bug the guy always told me it was a dude bug the guy that i knew that had it but so if you need to do a book i i've got one that's pretty complete but it's about like this you know so between the two of them i don't know yeah i got him more than that even in there someplace but else here's something that you won't see very many of four three well it's a 295 odd fire chevrolet 295. [Music] so what's going on here oh yeah i was gonna all right is that a factory one that's a 427 factory with the carbs in the fuel log and that's a joe hunt magneto and the whole engine is on the floor there with the 427 heads on it but i don't have a block i have a 390 block which is the same but it's not you know just [Music] and that's the other 409 the run is good i just ran that this winter and that's what i was saying when i started it i had i'd heard 409 run years ago it's evil they're evil when you start it you can't believe the sound that comes out of the open open exhaust 409. it's just something about the way they're made i guess or something but carburetor's kind of goofed up and it ain't that bad it runs but it just doesn't run good and i said oh it floods every once in a while heck with it he had that in a payloader the motor and drowning 400 really which is on the floor and an antique payloader and they were still using it but he said yeah one pound on the carburetor not activated [Music] me [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh my god you got the right hood for it even though they had that i just thought those blisters were kind of neat that's kind of a ford ripoff wasn't it didn't the ford thunderbolts or something this dang you're a twin to the one you just it it is looked at and and this one though i i made the lady a little promised that i wouldn't two-door this car oh look at that you even got the footprint gas pedal on the dimmer switch and this car was really nice shape they parked it outside that red and black yeah it also got full of mice so it just reeks but she said you won't cut it up or not i said i won't do that to that one i think her brother-in-law told there's the deck lid you need oh that's the piece you were talking about there and then this these over riders are only on the belairs and the backup lights tow package yeah that would be probably the first thing to come off yeah that car isn't bad here we go this one got those aluminum heads on her yeah that's that's an earlier one this is a 47 or eight now that's what's so sad about that this this is one of the first things i started with in about 72 and i set it right there and covered it up because i'm gonna use it sometimes and it's still there i boned it out and it's still there 49 years later yeah and i'm assuming that that tree was a lot smaller it didn't exist oh you can see the oil filter growing into that tree yeah oh it's fender that one's been there i wonder what year that one is [Music] duff are you tired out yet is this but i took the manifolds off and threw them in aluminum i got no use for those you know might as well get 50 cents out of them right but this valve cover is kind of cool that's cast right yeah yes aluminum but i got one that's really cool sitting somewhere and it has right on top of the belt cover here it's too short to write chevrolet so the same chevy yeah yeah i've seen those that's a big case radiator yeah that's the other ones alice chalmers that came off a bulldozer at big alice i was going to say that looks dozer-sized [Music] [Music] something that i think here's that 52 at the 427 with the packard clipper tail lights in it yeah that's a not a bad looking car no no it's a good-looking car that the guy did a lot of many years ago it was re this was all done in california and the guy from duncan bought it and brought it back to get from california and then it's passed through two three guys or something that's what i'm saying but oh the dash is all what how do you get into it uh any ford yep well they just got the lock hooked up to a hook up to the deal but any ford key with even with nothing on it we'll open that door in fact is it is there an autograph on the pinstriping i don't know it's probably pinstripe by von dutch that's probably like an 80 000 car it's a leather that's a leather uh jerry or too from mexico that was i was gonna say that was done in mexico i found your horn cap that you need this is a two i believe but it's got a three wheel on it maybe i'm not sure if it's two or three i didn't get any title i got a bill of sale with the that's all i got with it stuff there's a pussycat on the dash this thing is freaking kind of cool it's you know super cool and it's just roachy enough that kind of what they like some jc whitney oh everybody wanted the 53 ford beauty rings then they just mold them in there so they look like they're french i don't think that grill is right either no i i still trying to it's too bad they didn't radius the to trim them off a little bit yeah and there's a if you open the door on somebody's coop you can see if they've done that because most guys don't uh radius it off yeah they just let it come back out to nothing whereas if you grind when you grind the top over as far as you'll need to and you get three pieces showing pull the inside one down out of the way grind it the rest of the way and then weld of the insert dash we know the other way to tell yeah the window right here right and then 34s have a hole and 33s have a hook there right 33s have one handle in the middle of the hood yup and the 34's have the two handles and then 34 has this little thing here 33's don't have that either yeah you set your hood on so it doesn't come falling down on you and you got your head in there yep yeah i but i thought they got some 39 ford pedal assembly right keep them and you always got to keep them mustang shifters yeah i keep them mustangs were a good one this little seat here dude oh that's out of a mail you're jeep my man that's the seat i need for my 55 no i wish it was in fact i thought it might because it's black and that i could stick it in a 57 but this is actually out of a 70 torino that's what they had no no not to me no uh el camino what is it ranchero 70 ranchero oh you got a little honda qa50 tank is that the same tank as that z50 that i got i don't know how how rusty is it i guy he's putting it on a god just push this well i think when you're gonna we'll be fine there's four speeds in there up the ass and you got any top loader forward four speeds uh there's one or four speeds there's one right there that's side side motor one yep and this is probably a three speed maybe this one i can't see that extra lever several four speeds and uh guy was asking about a ford automatic and i think oh is this a a8 33 od close yeah exactly what it is it can be all greased up in there well yeah i think here's a 39 transmission here yeah it is does it say lz on it yeah yeah that's my lincoln zephyr it's out of a 36 point race car but it was put in there and another a833 od you know they come in dodge pickups some little tiny dodge pickups uh not tiny but standard ram but they're six cylinder side six short box and stuff 49 uh uh diamond t truck and he wants to set it on a dodge dually chassis cummins and stretch it and then he wants to take that part in the back and he's got stainless steel it's got fancy ribs in it and make a deco design and build a camper and he's got a guy that'll build the internal tamper part for him and i said holy hubcaps batman now and brand new used white walls yeah they're they are and here's the stash of banjo wheels there's the cadillac air cleaner supposed to come with my cadillac engine i thought one was on your cabin like it is uh-uh oh no not the engine i got from you though no no what do you think goof did you see it all yeah we can do this this is why one manifold is still out if you're beating on this oh so but see here there's one oh oh that's a large logo i'm going to get a kid in a candy store here's an extra i think we're faster twenty dollars yeah well i always thought these were the coolest when they had kind of looked like the pabst blue ribbon yeah yeah and then the bases of the 97s are kind of squared off like that yeah and then these ones that's the 94s yeah oh man speedo gears yeah that number's supposed to tell you the ratio oh yeah i didn't know that you did or didn't gosh you can teach an old dog new tricks no no well yeah you can teach me a lot of stuff when it comes to that i can take one apart and fix the carburetor i don't have a problem with that but i just don't know all the oh you fix it too i'm just gonna take them apart kind of like this guy was all right guys we're back i'm checking all that stuff out uh fortunately we didn't really come home with any big projects because we had a lot of big projects in the shop already but we're still in communication with the seller and we might be coming home with some stuff in the future maybe doing some collaboration stuff so stay tuned did come home with some smalls got this early ford intake with the strom rig 97 we got a honda qa or z50 tank which we need for the honda that we got when we picked up the dodge swept line and we got a whole bunch stromberg 97 carburetors and we got a 39 ford shift tower the nice thing about these 39 ford chip towers is they got the double detent that's how you identify them and you can drop the guts out of say uh like 41 to 48 ford side shift transmission into like a i think they call it a 35 case or is it a 48 case i think it's a 48 case they just call it a 48 case but you can drop the side shift guts into a top shift transmission like a 38 on down you put that shift tower on there and you got synchronized gears in your non-synchronized earlier transmission does that make any sense to you anyway that's a good piece to have because then you can just have an earlier case and later set of guts put them all together but that's the hard piece to find because you got to have a 39 only shift tower he threw in some s10 drop control arms because somebody just gave them to him i don't have a use for them but maybe we'll do some bartering send those to somebody else for something we can use and then on the way home i knew about this thing a while ago got ourselves an edelbrock y block tripower intake that's got three strombergs on it these two are large logo and then this one's a no logo so maybe it's like a 48 or an 81 but it's got all the linkage on it and the fuel log and i guess this was like some rap he got from jc whitney and he'd wrap around stuff he had it on 59 ford back in the early 60s sold the car kept that he's had it sitting in his bedroom for 50 years and finally uh talked him out of it so that'll be a cool piece probably just hang on to that i guess i don't have any block plans because we never get them running so there you have it we looked at a lot of stuff that was like an eight and a half hour tour seeing all that stuff and there was stuff that we didn't see and we'll probably be going back because there's some stuff kind of got my eyes on but i get a few other projects out of the shop and out of the way and maybe we'll do some bartering because uh he's into bartering as well so maybe he's gonna come down and look at my stuff he wants something i got i want something he's got and do some horse trading because that's what you do when you're in the hot rod industry you know right duff duff had a great time ran around looking for squirrels and rabbits all day chasing stuff underneath cars you know there was only like 2 300 of them a lot of cool stuff we appreciate it thanks very much for watching check out my other videos hit
