hey there boys and girls youtube world today duff dog and i are gonna see if we can't get a 1971 dodge power wagon running [Music] that's right seems like you guys like the odd stuff and mopars are odd so am i and so are you guys for watching this but we got this 1971 dodge power wagon w200 i think they call it d200 two-wheel drive w200 four-wheel drive i don't really know swept lines i got a couple of 68 dodge swept lines the king which is currently out of commission with a rod knock real bad in the old leaning tower of power and let's take a look at this thing so i picked this thing up at a kind of a private estate sale thing or come and go as you please make offers i don't know any who they parked because the rear ends out so there's no axle slid into the rear end there's a busted drive shaft in the box typical cowboy dodge things the tailgate is folded into a taco duff is not impressed it's got a lahui in the bedside here i'm guessing this was an army or some type of military or government vehicle means it was a four-wheel drive pretty good odds of that i think dodge won a lot of contracts with the government because their stuff was cheap and not good duff says i mean they're good she's unit 109. so hopefully the other 108 are still on the road i'm guessing here's where it said city of or u.s forest service whatever it was i guess i should have asked the guy where he got it from i guess it had a great big ol ugly antenna there is there one on the roof oh yeah a couple holes up there the box seen better days but ray charles never got a chance to weld her up ray wasn't really good at welding tins so he might have got a goober in there three quarter tons so eight lug wheels does have 16 inch split rims on it well it did one was blowed out so i had to take it off tech tip of the day chevy rims big stretch will not fit onto a dodge because the pilot hole is smaller i tried putting the rodent track country square wheel off the motorhome video check that out if you haven't on here is that a front axle shaft oh boy oh i picked up this champion spark plug cleaner too it's not in the greatest shape but you don't ever see them with a stand kind of neat that's right people used to clean spark plugs back in the day and put them back in buy supplies so if we did have a rear end we could do some sweet burnouts mirrors we don't need those spotlight though it's a unity those are good for chasing cows department of public safety expired in 79. so army maybe who knows i think we're gonna call this thing the old war wagon oh man that needs some shimmin another split rim pto driven braden winch that's the second pto driven winch rig we've had on here we should probably get a winch working one of these days this one looks like it needs a little work grill's been tacoed in this hood's a little bit different than my 68s obviously the grilles are different but doesn't have the washboards and she's got kind of the cowl induction reverse thing ridge whammyage passenger side got a whiskey dent up there it's not super rusty all the dirt kind of ends up up in here and rots them all the other side is real bad this side isn't too bad looks like somebody got a little heat into the hood hinges they always put the pentastar that's what they call that for you non-mopar folks on the passenger side i guess so when you had it parked against the sidewalk people would see it but they were too cheap to put it on the other side mopar things she's had a rough life it had a toolbox in it or a fuel tank or something when i got it he wanted to keep that i didn't want to deal with it drive shaft axle shaft i hope that axle shaft isn't for this because i was hoping if we do get it running we'll just lock her in four dig just let her eat front wheel drive style if you've never driven a vehicle four-wheel drive vehicle only with the front end it's an experience it doesn't drive like a front little red car let me tell you that so yeah it had split rims all the way around but they are 16's and not 16 fives these ones are the diggers that one's a little bald like i said the tailgate was just kind of hanging on by hopes and dreams when we picked it up toe bumper with the hooks some type of big ugly hitch connector in there this guy said this thing was a workhorse what year was it 84 so she's been off the road for 37 years so we can't get her to breathe fire again the earlier swept lines i think swept blind's first year was 61. somebody'll correct me if i'm wrong i think they're 61 to 71 maybe 72 maybe 73 anywho earlier ones kind of like the chevys had the small back one no later ones with the big back window here floor's a little chewy radial delete so that's the dead giveaway just from the military caution position your vehicle so you do not need to use reverse gear apparently in the military they didn't teach you how to back up how to run your power takeoff tire tube there's the yolk from the rear diff she's kind of splattered that might be an issue we did get the axle shafts so that's handy i'm guessing it's a 205 because it's got too high that must be the pto lever more oj gloves sweet got the keys dodges always use the coolest pedal pads i think those are like the same as that 59 plymouth has way to mix it up seats actually in decent shape what else we got in here what do we got are those underwear i don't know i don't know what what do we got to do to flip this ahead does it not flip ahead probably not mopar things what is in there hopefully just rags no dead critters and that's how the seat's so nice they had seed bags over it spotlight this she's gonna need some work for chasing the cows a couple hitch pins up there the spare squirter bottle the spray the cat when it gets up on the table what are you doing get this cat is immune oh dodge division yeah these freaking cabs i don't know the way their floor pans and everything aren't one another oj glove floor pans and the steps aren't all one piece they just always blow out right there ah spare ac spark plug what else is under there a whole bunch of stuff to make nests out of how many miles we got 66 000 that's got to be 66 there's no way you could put 166 000 miles on this lumber wagon maybe maybe it just didn't work let's see what's behind door number two mirror oh yeah she's a little tacoed in but anything good in there nope nope nope nope hey a chain come on two hooks i see one oh yeah it's got a splice in it but that was worth the price of admission right there 5 16 chain with two hooks covered up the axle shafts for safe keeping i guess oil bath air cleaner in 71 really mopar maybe that was a government mandated deal i think they threw all this stuff oh no that was that that inner tube was definitely to save you from getting poked by the seat what is this stuff it looks like that's probably as best this that's why it looks like it's burnt let's put you back there yeah whatever's under the hood had all of the horsepowers hopefully the front end's in good enough shape so we can use it does the glove box open the wrong way well son of a biscuit more shop rags i don't know spare tire mount jack mount is that the owner's manual hot dang who what a thunk mice didn't even get it duff check her out what do you think come on get up here duff you want to pop some pills turner drug battle south dakota no no those kind of look like poops so i'm not gonna check them out yeah that's a good chain look it's got two hooks that's a good deal right there oh that was the universal joint kablooey did it come with new universal joints new replacement universal joints yeah with no caps on it i don't know why anybody would do that but there it is they stole two of the caps to limp at home who knows it's a niapco so what's the good one what do you do save the needle bearings in there we'll put that there so it falls through the floor two sun visors i mean that was probably an option let me guess brake fluid it's always brake fluid always brake fluid flows freely to 70 degrees below zero non-corrosive sludger gum what what am i looking at here it's co-op and it's sae 70r3 heavy duty hydraulic brake fluid yep so the brakes were shot imagine that every farm pickup farm truck you name it never has brakes plastic door panels on the later models pretty sure dodges have like the thickest doors here it's just real girthy she's a thick girl damn boy well let's see what we got going on under here well the air cleaner was in there so i'm sure it didn't drink any water i'm guessing it's a 318. maybe it's a 360. duff did they have a 360 and 71 you don't know either i don't know do you guys know how to tell we've never replaced a mopar starter so i'm sure that one's just fine it's got the colostomy bag factory two battery cables both in black two barrel carburetor points ignition we got one flexi hose do we have two are we batting a thousand percent on flexi oh yeah both of the flexi hoses with the craptastic constant tension clamps oh where's the dipstick jimmy uh i thought mopars are on the front there it is come on be way over full so i know you're full of water or be bone dry um um bomb um and i'm leaning towards bone dry i guess that's good from the water aspect but maybe not so good from the lubrication aspect oh i don't think i think the dipstick tube kind of fell out we don't need that anyway remind me to put oil in before we try to fire it up i guess now we see if it turns over man the birds are really chirping today pudding would enjoy it he loves birds get out of here so i guess before i put a battery in it let's try to get it to turn over by hand with the fan speaking of fans it appears as this one and the radiator did a little dancing oh and ray charles also does radiator repairs real nice but they didn't put the screen in front of the radiator so it doesn't get full of bugs overflow we don't need that and she's dry it's got the good parker edelman radiator cap bolt plug in the vacuum leaks i'm sure that wasn't vacuum leaking [Music] i don't have a good feeling about this here we go here goes nothing oh boy she ain't budging this winch bumper might have to go she's in the way yeah we're just either stretching or slipping the belt so we either crawl underneath see if there's an inspection cover or see if the handy dandy tool we used on monica seriously come up with is gonna work on the front end of this thing i think before we do that let's pull the valve cover off and pop the rocker shafts up so we don't bend a bunch of push rods if we got any stuck valves we don't mash those into the pistons hopefully maybe let's blow this top end off because a good blow job is always much appreciated by a tired old engine before opening it up i love stuck engines almost as much as i love replacing starters and flexi hoses they're just the best i mean that's what they're they're ribbed not only for your pleasure but for extra cooling capacity no don't believe anything you here read here i think the firing order on these is the same as a chevy 18 43 65 72 one eight four three yep same thing number one points at number one [Music] and they're laid out the same so let's pop these plug wires off pull it off get the valve covers off see what it looks like under there probably just pull spark plugs out too and put some oil down there that's what everybody says i should do because we got a lot of experts just go read the comments in my other videos ah oh clean oakley oakley dougly oh no no bueno well is this side gonna be any better probably not what's behind door number two more disappointment provided by mopar what's the acronym from over he's got any funny ones ford's got all the funny ones probably because we're all simple-minded son of a biscuit not good i would call this the bad side well i would say there's not a good side but that's that's a lot of stuff that should not be under a valve cover so i think we'll just blow that off and pretend like it wasn't there and then we'll just pop the rocker shaft off so it's not to bend any push rods and then we'll start tapping on some valves pull out some spark plugs put some oil down there across our fingers but not off to a good start kids 37 years sitting in a humid environment it's not good for the old small block mopar why why why why why why why do they do this why do i do this to myself why do you guys make me do this because we love it almost as much as we love the hose of the flex guess i'll go get the blow gun out again so those cleaned up surprisingly well [Music] but we're still going to take it apart a little bit further just to make sure we don't do any more damage we need to maybe just win one thing i do like about mopars is this whole rocker shaft just kind of comes apart as one the bad thing is they get all rusty and then they don't move anymore which is oh that one moved there we go they're starting to loosen up so we'll set that somewhere not in the dirt oh man there is a lot of rust down in the lifter valley though we'll just put a good oil filter on hopefully that cleans that all right up so this is what i usually use for penetrating oil i call it zeppelin but it's zip 45 i guess it's kind of what i grew up around they used to be in like 16 ounce cans now they're 14 ounce and the new ones they don't even come with a nozzle everything's just getting cheaper these days and that sucks [Music] tech tip of the day save your old nozzles not nozzles the tip i don't know now watch i won't even fit this new one and it doesn't awesome save it anyway i guess because that's what grandpa would want this new stuff really blast like nobody's business [Music] cheese and rice ah no hopefully we got an extra r rn12yc on the shelf things have escalated we're getting the bdbh out yeah you like that and super rusty imagine that rusty rusty somebody got mad at me for using an impact on spark plugs taking them out i don't know i guess i've never had an issue [Music] just to make myself feel better let's tap on some valves i can already tell you that one's stuck down that one's not coming back up that one's stuck down [Music] that's how it should sound hear that good bad good bad bad good good son of a biscuit i think these were the same ones we had issues with on monica there we go oh man why are you not coming back up help me help you [Music] ow so using a straight edge it looks like these two aren't level with the rest of them so what is that intake on five and seven of course [Music] oh we get it [Music] close how many cans of zep that's what we should start taking bets on is that finger bleeding oh yeah well nancy i think we're gonna need another spongebob band-aid got it good a few moments later well we're back at it we got spongebob and the starfish guy was it squidward is that his name and a snail looks like thanks nancy [Applause] we already got a band-aid sponsor we need a beer sponsor i had somebody that was talking about sponsoring the beer and pizza but i haven't heard much from him negotiations have ceased look at that battery hold down that's good quick dick mcdick would be proud this is quick dick mcdick reminding you a man will never get tired of pulling on his number nine wire oh yeah got her all the way up here oh let's see one around the backside tied her up to the radiator sport how many of these are we gonna have that are stuck take your bets now i'd say we got two stuck now so there's gotta be at least two on the other side they're stuck right what the french those two are definitely stuck oh now i'm super gun shy because i don't want to break any more fingers i got so many nose pickers do you guys name your tools i got a couple of these pry bars first one started out as bob so they're both bob bob he makes things happen do your thing bob oh that's a lot i don't want to pull heads off [Music] we're going to have every piece of prying equipment in the shop out for this stupid valve we go bob take a break did that go what are we going to do duff i guess let's just go to the other side maybe those things will so can fix themselves probably not i think all these come up except for that back one i don't know if water all runs in the back what probably rusty see if we can't break a couple more off oh the hell with this i don't know everybody complains about this thing oh broke the spark plug off that's why they complain threads look fine did we break them both nope yeah back one's stuck down just a little bit it appears and the rest are good the really nice thing about these dodges is they're meant to work on they got this ribbed inner fender for stacking all your tools and spare parts in stuck stuck good good stuck good so we got the fourth one seventh one on the eighth one four seven eight remember that oh that came right back up [Music] before give him a little more slobber [Music] good news is these ones are coming right back up bad news is they're not doing it on their own well we got this side [Music] he's got to get those loose on the driver's side oh that's not good somebody's screaming at their computer screen telling me i'm doing something wrong yell louder because i cannot hear you somebody in all their infinite mopar wisdom i gotta save that gasket i don't have any money i can't see what i'm doing oh that's a lot of leverage that's a lot of pressure oh man these are stuck up i wonder if those were the same two valves they were stuck on monica you see these two ain't moving no bueno i bet it was the numbers five and seven intakes freaking mo bars hmm [Music] we got so much pressure on that thing and it still will not move i could go underneath and start turning the engine over [Music] but i don't want to ding up these valves if that was what caused the issue on monica i don't want to repeat that because what is not the definition of crazy doing the same thing twice and expecting different outcomes psychosis i don't know anyhow we don't want to do that we don't i wonder if i could push down these would have been smart maybe we could push down this washer and took the retaining clips off and cleaned her up a bit maybe clamped on the stem to pull it up not sure [Music] not much room to get the slide hammer in on this and that didn't work out so hot on monica i don't know i don't think sokin's gonna do it either so comment down below what you think we should have done at this given point i don't know what i'm going to do next but you tell me how you get those valves up i mean i'm guessing the right thing to do would be to pull the heads off and clean everything up but then where do you quit then you need gaskets there's a bunch of rust in the lifter valley so i mean at that point you might as well just cook the block and then you do rings and bearings and bore it we're not doing that we're also not gonna run on six cylinders we know how that goes he's not impressed let's think about this what can we do [Music] so i had an epiphany i wasn't even in bed this time but it's going to take a tube to replace this rocker shaft then we'll pry down on that valve and we'll get the clips off and spring out because we're just tearing the crap out of that spring well maybe we can use this as a template for where to drill the holes and then i got real smart i thought maybe we can just take the rocker shafts off if they weren't rusted on and just use that so that's what we're gonna do [Music] sunday all the blue hair has got to drive by see what morsky is up to [Music] furry push rods oil doesn't go through those like a gm guess not [Music] so that kind of shows you what's going on inside of the lifter valley we're not going to worry about that right now that little guy no no yeah how about that little fella well that little guy i wouldn't worry about that little guy let's just take them all out of there how about that somebody will be happy about that don't be different lengths don't be silly mopar all good to go my theory was we could use that to pry down and hopefully get clips out maybe no guarantees none whatsoever would have helped if i hadn't smashed that valve so far down or would just be great if it just came up on its own now watch me get these clips out and then lose them [Music] i was wondering if those are magnetic drop that in the dirt you can see how deformed that spring now is from my previous process the umbrellas are still kind of rubbery even i might get the torch give that thing some heat yeah i think there's probably belt seals in there that are going to be happy but [Music] oh well it's just going to burn a little oil going to need some heat and then we got to find a way to pry up on it so maybe we figure out the way to pry up on it before we give it any heat and then we should probably take this one apart at the same time that way we can do it all in one shot [Music] so this little umbrella keeps oil from the valve train from going running down the valve and getting your combustion chamber causing smoke usually that's where you know when your engine sits when you shut it off and it's warm and you go to fire it up the next time that big puff of blue smoke that's usually when these things are bad and dried up now you know more useless knowledge for you yeah so we're going to do is we're going to heat around the guide here and hopefully that loosens up the crud that's between the guide and the valve stem then we're going to clamp on it with the vice grip see if we can't get it to turn [Music] oh man more heat [Music] [Music] let's try to twist on it thinking that you know that would break it loose because pulling i'd have to figure out a way to pry on it it would just be easier to twist and if it'll twist then it should go maybe we'll let it cool for a bit see what happens awesome at what point do you just take the head off [Music] then where you quit i didn't come up with any more epiphanies so let's just keep giving her the heat so i reassembled most of the valve whatever got the clips and the umbrella i don't know what i got let's try prying on that i don't know the vice grip thing you know vice grip wants to clamp in this direction so twist this way maybe we can try pulling up prying up on that see what happens what i should do is put that rocker shaft back in there and then get like a fork that fries in the middle how can we do that that's what i need i'm sure there's a tool for it but well probably no tool for it but let's see what we can do here if it was one of these i could just hook the slide hammer on that ring and tap up on it but the hood's in the way i really don't take the hood off it kind of looks like it's welded on over there this is a real bugger [Music] it's a big enough bar you can move the world well you still gotta have something to pry against watch me snap that stanchion off the head [Music] foreshadowing i think something's moving [Music] it felt like did it move at all [Music] that angle it's meant to push down on them i can't get underneath the pry up the geometry just ain't right cheese and rice so i was going to make some type of prying device using a washer that retainer but i think we're just going to take the hood off use a slide hammer because i really like the slide hammer i'm really mad at this thing taking hoods out by yourself not a good idea duff you want to give me a hand over here for a paw these hood prop rods are right up there with loser switches real handy i'm in danger we're probably gonna need a chiropractor sponsor here shortly how do we do this [Music] this is a bad idea milk was a bad choice you just lay on the windshield oh just a little more rust to go in the engine no big deal don't forget that was up there you might need a hair a lot more light under here now though just be like roadkill and just take the hood off first thing [Music] let's put a mark that we can't even see let's see if it's moving is it moving it doesn't appear so i don't think this plan is gonna work either we're just bending the stem of that valve [Music] hmm i really don't want to pull the head off this thing because we don't know if it turns over we know the rear ends shot we don't know if the front end's any good i hate to throw in the towel but i'm out of ideas and i think we screwed up that valve i don't think we were pulling it straight [Music] so well since that valve is screwed up now i'm bound and determined to somehow get that thing moving we can maybe sacrifice that one and if we can figure out a way to move it we can use it on the other one and then only have to replace one valve or run on seven we shall see stupid mopars look at this piece of crap i fabric cobbled together a couple of heavy duty washers a 7 16 nut and then some medium thickness wall tube so the theory-ism behind this thing is you'll slide it over the valve stem with that keeper in place and then we'll thread the slide hammer into that and hopefully that'll pull on it straighter than that vice grip because the vice grip kind of pulls it at a kitty whompus angle then i took a cut-off off wheel zip that nichi in there for the stem to go through [Music] and for not the keeper whatever this thing's called see if it works so now slip that over that without smashing our fingers anymore today [Music] let me try pulling straight up see which one of my welds let's loose i think it's moving i should have just built this right off the bat oh yeah [Music] looks like we can go up a little bit more pro tip smear a little grease on these keepers you'll have a little bit better chance of them staying in place for you maybe just maybe [Music] so i worked that valve back and forth a few times this still stuck pretty good i think we're gonna go to the other one and get that one pulled all the way to the top as well and then i'm gonna go to the bottom end try to get it turn over i don't want to spend a ton of time on these i got to get them loose we're gonna get it to run looser than they are now not loose like that one gallon college but we got to get these loose ford will run zoys are just going to stick down on us but let's get the bottom end turn it over and go from there so i was thinking we should just call this the mortsky valve persuader the mvp because this thing is the real mvp i like these homemade tools you guys got any homemade tools in your tool box that works good probably never use this again but remember that tool we used on monica to get the crank to turn over that i thought we'd never use again with a 22 millimeter socket that i haven't needed yet to this day i'm probably going to use that so we'll get this valve pulled all the way to the top so if we do get the bottom end loose we're not playing patty kick between the valves and the pistons and then once that's loose then we'll come back and address these if that'll even come loose which it will because we're invested into this thing now duff says we gotta make her work that looks like the same ugly two barrel that monica had remember that miserable mess i think i had that thing off like seven times you only showed it like three times in the video but that carburetor didn't like me this one will be better this is got electronic ignition no that's voltage regulator points ignition all right let's get this one slid up oh calidokilly oh clean ugly let's go underneath see if we can get this thing turned over remember this guy labeled it march 21st when we use this thing so oh man it's what 23rd today something like that it's only two months it sat around i thought this thing was gonna sit forever and not get used again oh man we really warped that plate got all the penetrations i'm gonna go underneath see if you can't get this bolted on you guys watch from up here see if it turns over how about that catch me outside how about that same old pattern don't be silly like ford would be nailed it you're really cool if that engine just started turning over by itself oh yeah we sacrificed a a ratchet on that last one too didn't we cheater pipe check tip save your old harbor freight jack handles now i guess we get a breaker bar on it see if we can get her to turn [Music] fun times i'm gonna go underneath you guys watch on em mind you can't watch the fan because it's not hooked up to anything watch the crank then if you can see it there you go got an orange mark at zero keep your eyes on that eyes on the prize i'll go underneath and do all the work duff you just lay in the sun do whatever it is you do around here look good oh yeah holy buckets [Music] she's she's stuck not good where's is hard on ratchet that's gonna break that breaker bar no way that's gonna hold that so it's got an inspection cover underneath and as to be expected it's full of mouse nest rust but i think try to keep a little tension on this the way it's wedged in between here and the inner fender it's not going to be much but go underneath and try working that flywheel a little bit because this up here is not wanting to budge i feel like it's going to destroy my cheapy breaker bar here so let's go to the back side hit it from the back side so the tailpipe kind of fell off when i came underneath here i might have pulled it off but it didn't take much there's the mouse nest that was inside the inspection cover it's not the worst i've seen there is some rust hopefully those teeth didn't get too pitted up let's take a look at everything else over under here and notice that the crossover pipe up front there when i was prying on the harmonic balancer it's rotted out it's got a group seven filter on it it's got checkered flags so you know it's good front drive shaft she's shot in the splines as is expected it is a divorce transfer case so you could literally put whatever power chain you want in here part's just a six liter ls the yoke in the cab is from the transfer case and the pinion does not turn so if all else fails we should take that rear cover off and see what's going on in there tailpipe did have some oh that's not even number nine wire that's some cowboy stuff right there that's barb wire gosh i haven't seen barbwire fixing anything for a while park brake cables are cut so it's pretty mortsky eyes [Music] it does have shocks wow that's impressive cap corners look good bed floor was actually preserved by the service unit that was in the back or oil tank or fuel tank or whatever it is floor on this siding too bad a little soft over here where it meets the step and then pretty soft by this cab mount okay let's put the wonder bar on to said flywheel see if we can't get this stupid thing to turn we gotta or we're gonna lose the shop duff look at this chelsea pto cable driven one knuckle two knuckle one pillow block three knuckle two pillow block four knuckle three pillow block and then i can't see what's up front but there's another knuckle up there i think yeah so like four knuckles and three pillow blocks lot going on there it's probably in good shape because it never got run oh yeah they're tight okay now we're goofing off we gotta get this thing to turn or we're gonna lose the shop what is that transmission 435 mopar guys you probably know well there's why the fender's rattling part of it and part is because it's all missing oh get our bar in there oh ah knock my teeth on look like i'm so dakota i'm on meth ow this dodge is hurting me not as much as it hurts you i know this is gonna be a knuckle buster how's that first stuck now there's some tension on it she is tight at least with the rear end being wasted nobody can say just drag it around in gear that'll loosen it up because that never works the tires just skid if it's that stuck [Music] or the clutch slips been there tried it more foreshadowing this is a bad idea right here [Music] [Music] if it budget it was like a half a degree [Music] didn't bend that usually the ears blow out on them [Music] i know you guys don't like seeing my learning experiences but i don't know how much more we can do here i've been crawling underneath and we cut a lot of stuff out but i've been trying pretty hard to get this thing loose spent way more time on these valves than apparently i should have because i can't get the engine to budge i know everybody says ah you gotta let it soak but i haven't had much luck with that that 60 ford wagon that thing soaked for four months that didn't come loose and just can't sit around and wait because we're gonna lose the shop but i'm curious to see what the issue is we know that it was the intake valves on this side that were stuck open so in theory those should be the ones that are filled full of crap so let's pull that head off see what it looks like and then we'll go from there here we go buzz gun time so so so well how's that for disappointment [Music] it's pretty chewy there a lot of pitting there and these two are not good either i think this thing is toasty you guys wanted to see it so this thing even if we did get it loose it would not run very long that is a lot of stuff in there also i've never pulled a head off without pulling an intake off i figured we weren't out anything for trying what is that silly cone sure so this thing needs an engine i don't know if it's 318 360 whatever it is but we don't know if the tranny's any good we know the rear ends shot we got to find a yolk for the transfer case this thing just needs everything and who knows there's more to it i mean the floors are pretty soft would need to be fixed up a little bit just to drive it needs brakes i'm sure gonna need tires gotta get rid of those split rims because those are just a hazard weight to happen i mean this thing's definitely worth fixing it's it's pretty decent for a four wheel drive usually four would rather just beat into the ground this thing's pretty beat but um not all of them are as nice as that orange ford what is it like a four wheel drive thing to blow out the rear diffs in these this one's even a three quarter ton i presume a dana 60 and that one's a nine inch so pretty notorious rear ends for being decent might as well open the diff up see where we're at distributor stuck in this thing not good you can see just how chewy it is inside of the combustion chamber we did get all the valves to close these were the two we were fighting with and they are close if they're not all the way it's pretty dang close but yeah gonna need a valve job for sure here's the money shot up close and personal live action with mortsky look at all that that's some bad stuff we could probably get this thing loose but it's not worth it not worth it that cylinder actually doesn't look too bad but even this one he's pretty crusty in there and i'm sure the other side's probably as bad as these two plus look at the lifter valley she's nasty in there and all that's gonna go down through the oil passages so i mean this thing's got to be opened up rear end went out this thing got parked and then i don't know if they took the air cleaner off that's what caused this or just the humidity but she's cooked inside any diff experts out there i presume it's a 60 oh yeah sure enough it says 60. right there holy crap this thing's still got the spare tire rack underneath it that's pretty neat how neat is that for cheese and rice if you ever take a diff apart always save that tag i don't know what this one's going to tell us that's always handy to have should say the ratio on it but i can't read it we'll find out when we open this up [Music] all right what's it gonna be what's exploded oh what's my guess gonna be i think i think the pin slid out of the carrier the spider gear pin thing or the bopper whammy all right watch this oil looks pretty good i tell you about this spare tire oh what's it gonna be well we got some chunks out of the ring gear and we got some major gashing that took the pins in there that's what i thought it slid out i'm gonna have to get in there with the flashlight not really sure what let loose something was rolling around in there though well that's kind of disappointing i don't suppose it's going to turn for us there's no axles in it so it's got to be the pinion end and that's all she wants to move one tooth well it's got to come apart anyway should we blow these out of it see just what the flip happened you might as well just blow this whole thing apart so nobody wants to give me anything for it because it's just a bucket of bolts all right talk me into it i don't think you want to mix these up kind of like main bearing caps but what do i know they're marked with a u on the top so that must mean up or cuz it's a u-bolt who knows how do you adjust these the shims maybe how am i gonna get this out without smashing my oil pan smashing my fingers smashing my concrete smashing the camera all right you guys are gonna have to watch from a distance well now it's turning what the hey well it was what's wrong with you is the pinion sliding back and forth oh pinion bearing is gone there's something an opinion is let's go to the other side let's take a look so that back there is the ring gear this is the pinion hence ring and pinion this is what drives it this thing just turns around that's what gives you your gear ratio however many teeth are on that divided by this so if there's 40 on that 10 on here you'd have 400 ratio so this should not have any back and forth movement oopsies that's no bueno kids so hopefully you could just put a new ring and pinion in it and some new pinion bearings and you might as well do carrier bearings and then where do you quit i mean you could maybe get away with just putting bearings in the pinion but those gears did not look good she needs a rebuild well now we know why it was parked and then they let the engine get stuck silly day in the 60s all right let's slam it back together and then fill a full sawdust for the next guy the sawdust quiets the gears and lets the engine run as sweet as a nut for a couple of miles [Music] [Applause] [Music] so as you can see stuck this thing all back together reason i did that is not to hide anything but so that everything's in one pile because i know when i buy something i really beat people up on price if they got like a whole box full of parts this way the only thing that we didn't put back in was somehow i forgot one of the push rods and then a couple of valve springs and the keepers and that silly umbrella washer thing in there but otherwise it's all back together got the inspection cover back underneath rear end i put all back together just the way it was when it come in here i thought about sticking the hood on there by myself but my back is gonna hurt tomorrow anyway my finger really hurts so sneaky pete chin he came over with his crocs and his board shorts and uh leigh belt homes battery sponsor even though we didn't get to use a battery today but yeah we'll list this thing up seller hopefully somebody else can give it the love and attention it deserves otherwise it'll probably just sit around here forever needs an engine rear end gone through and then needs the yoke on the back of the transfer case because that blowed up when the rear end blowed up and then obviously exhaust brakes tires tune up all that good stuff when you get in there but the flexi hoses are there right duff just peeled that that thing didn't run ooh did some looking on this winch it's a brayden lu2 winch u is for underslung i think that's where the pto runs l is lightweight that's aluminum and then two is just the model or something stuff we're trying to film here and you gotta be drinking he's like wow you drink all the time on camera so that about stealing this winch and putting it on the orange board if we ever get that y block back together but the pto comes out on the other side of this one and then you guys saw the joints coming through here for running this thing on the pto if we get to that point i'd rather just find the right winch because i don't think you can reverse these because it's left hand drive that's what that l means we would need right hand drive for the ford and plus the pto is missing off of that and then we'd have to make all the pto driveline stuff too so we'll just leave this on here and some mopar guy will be so dang happy that he's got himself a winch on his broken down power wagon so there you had it learning experience we had to make a new tool the mvp the mortsky valve puller but we did not get the war wagon running she's got a few battle scars she's probably gonna get a few more but it's gonna live on probably in somebody else's yard hopefully maybe i don't know i'll put a price down in the description if we still have it sometimes these things are sold by the time video goes out because we gotta sell it otherwise we're gonna lose the shop this one is not making the shop any money so down the road appreciate it thank you very much for watching doesn't matter how you get it done as long as you're having fun drew some blood i don't know what that was not a lot of fun a whole lot of fu i guess oh i did get the tailgate on while i was waiting for the mvp to dry up i started pounding out some dents that one and then that didn't go so well and then i saw these but hey school's open drive carefully actually i think school closes here in like two weeks off the road for 37 years because of a differential locked up not going back on the road today drag her out of here on to the next one [Music] you
