How To Setup Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (Step by Step)

to set up your Galaxy s24 Ultra the first step is before we go in any menus if you open the box of your s24 Ultra there is this leaflet here and in this leaflet you're going to have your sim eject tool and you're going to have your charging cable which you can see right here so if you're wondering where those are it's in your box next if we click the power button to wait the phone if you need to turn on any accessibility settings just tap this button here and you'll be brought to the accessibility settings otherwise let's tap on the blue button here to start it's now going to ask us to uh select our language so for me English United Kingdom and once you've selected tap next for our review so you must agree to the end user license agreement sending of Diagnostics data you don't have to agree to this it is optional and then we'll select agree easily set up with another device so if you have your old Samsung just bring it next to your new one uh once you have your old phone just select the device like this so tap that and on your old phone there should be an option to scan this QR code if you don't see this option connect to the network and when you see this prompt tap the setup button for this video I'm going to set up the phone manually from here we need to connect to our Wi-Fi network so select the network and connect you may see the service provider set up and if that's the case you need to tap the restart button and patiently wait for the phone to restart we now see here connects to a mobile network so if you have an eim card which is inside of your old phone um you can tap this button here transfer SIM from another device if you have an old iPhone or for any old Androids this won't work you can see here the requirements is you need to have a galaxy with one UI 5.1 and above so if you don't have that you can transfer the eim for your service provider here or if you have an eim QR code so if you got a new SIM card uh like this and instead of being a physical Sim it's an eim there would be a QR code here and you tap the scan and you'd scan the code like this if you have a regular SIM card then you can insert this now or you can do it later the Sim ejector tool is here inside of the box and the SIM card slot is inside of here as you can see there's the SIM card slot to the right of the charger port opening up the SIM card tray if you buy from Samsung directly and you're from the UK you will get a dual SIM card slot but with most other countries you're only going to have one physical SIM card here and if you wanted the dual SIM you would need to contact your carrier and get an eim for the second SIM card slot and when you reinsert the SIM card tray make sure the hole of the SIM card tray matches the hole of the phone push down and then just drub flush like this so I did not insert any SIM card so we'll select setup later now it's going to get the phone ready we now see here copy apps and data so if you want to proceeds tap the next button that earlier screen look like it would transfer apps and data only transfers your Google accounts and your Wi-Fi network this is going to transfer everything like your contacts your messages your apps uh your app data so you would tap on next and then you proceed with the Smart Switch and you would carefully follow the onscreen instructions I do have a dedicated video on this so search how to transfer data to Galaxy s24 Ultra if you are interested but for this video I'm going to select don't copy and then we'll wait for the checking information we now need to sign in with our Google account you can skip this but most services on your Samsung do require a Google account so let's sign in now once we have signed in let's agree to the terms and condition I conditions we now see the Google services it's up to you if you turn these on or off I personally turn off the device backup as there is a limited amount of storage and so there will be a point we have to start paying Google if you want the backup to continue use location you want this on otherwise no apps can use your location like the maps app for example scanning just allows your location to be more accurate however it does allow your phone to scan for Wi-Fi networks even if Wi-Fi is off same with Bluetooth so uh I'd recommend you turn this one on but it can always go off send usage and Diagnostics data there's no real reason to turn it off but there's no real reason to have it on so this is up to you this just sends data to Google when your phone's charging and then we'll tap on accept once we're happy and now it's asking us to choose our search engine for most of us we're going to select Google and make sure it's ticked and then we'll tap on next protect your phone so let's choose a fingerprint as that is the most secure and we're going to tap on the continue button here it wants us to set a screen lock first you'll need to do this so let's tap on next and let's have a look we have pin which is four to six digigit password which is as long as you want can be numbers and letters and pattern this is Android only so if we tap this one here I personally use p PS but choose what's best for you so just draw the pattern like this and then we confirm what we entered and then we're going to tap register to register our fingerprint the s24 ultra has a fingerprint in the screen so you're just going to get your Thum or any finger you want I'd recommend Thum and long press the sensor and it's showing where the center is here so we're just going to long press every time there we go and just keep on repeating this until the scan has completed if you want you can add another fingerprint once the scan is done or if we're happy we'll just tap on next so you're going to see fingerprint always on I'd recommend you use this so what this will do is when your phone's off if you long press the fingerprint sensor you can unlock your phone without clicking any buttons and so let's tap continue we now see the Google Assistant as a tech person myself I've never used this but if you have maybe a smart home or you just have a reason that you know about let's scroll down and you tap on agree to add or skip to skip the assistant and then access assistant without unlocking we're going to skip this one as well and we're going to patiently wait for this to complete and now once us to add a Samsung account this is something I would recommend because features such as Samsung pay finding your phone and making sure it's not stolen uh other features such as secure folder they only need the Samsung account uh for this uh video I'm going to select I don't have an account and set up later but I highly recommend you do add a Samsung account so we skip this one here and then we have the legal information so we can agree to everything to be quick but you can see here there are hidden stuff like turn on customization service Based on data so you may want to leave that off the terms and conditions you must agree to and all of these other things are optional and so once we're happy we're going to tap on agree permissions if you want this stuff you can have it on Smart Suggestions customization service will just make your phone smarter if you see what I mean I would recommend you leave this on but you can always turn it off because it does use your data and display mode light or dark just to reiterate your phone's data not like your mobile data if you see what I mean so let's tap on next and we'll patiently wait for this and we're done so you can see
