[Music] so the very first thing you're going to want to do is Google balers Gate 3 mod manager and it is going to be the very first link um I recommend using this one over Vortex just because this one's streamlined for balers gate but it's completely personal preference whichever one you want to use they both work fine I just like this one because like I said it's kind of it's made for balers gate um but anyway so you're going to click the link and you're just going to scroll down a little bit till you see links and it's going to be this first one latest release scroll down a little bit more and it is just right here you'll go ahead and just click on it and it'll download okay so once you've downloaded the mod manager the first thing you're going to want to do is put that file into a mod folder and you're going to want to name it well whatever you want um this is my actual one I just made this one for the sake of the video but you're going to want to put this into there and then go ahead and go back to the website that you downloaded this from and it'll walk you through how to install it and all that it's pretty easy I'm just not going to go through it just because it's all written right there for you um step by step so once you've done that you are going to head on over to nexusmods.com this is where I get all of my mods from um and you'll already see on the front page that there's a balers gate section so you go ahead and click on that and it's going to show hot mods which is just like popular mods for the week or ones that are gaining popularity quickly um and then every other Mod's going to be under here but the cool thing is is once you've clicked on that balers gate tab it's going to save right here and so if you where to search anything so let's say hair it's going to show all the hair mods for Baler skate but before you can download any of the fun mods um the very first mod you're going to want to download is called mod fixer it's going to be this one right here you're going to need this mod for like pretty much 99% of the mods um for balers gate I haven't seen any that don't require this mod maybe there's some that don't but this one you're going to want to make sure you don't download first so you'll just hit the files tab and download it and then once it's popped up in your downloads and it's downloaded then you're going to go ahead and open up your mod manager okay so once you go ahead and open up your mod manager um obviously yours is going to be blank but I already have all my mods loaded into it um it might be a little overwhelming at first but I promise it's pretty easy to get the hang of so you have two sections your inactive and active mods your inactive are all the mods you you um don't have loaded into your game and then your active mod section is going to be all the mods that you do have loaded into your game and then this right here is just called your load order so all these numbers some mods it doesn't really matter like what order but for most it does like for instance all your character creation mods you're going to want to make sure those are loaded uh first just because that's like what you're doing first in the game um but also sometimes certain authors will require specific load orders so for instance this one aarian earring which I really recommend it's fun it allows you to put earrings onaran um they require this one to be first um but things like this one like my dice collection this one it doesn't really matter so I have relatively towards the end so now to import a mod into your mod manager you're going to go to file and it's going to be the top One Import mod um since we just downloaded mod fixer it's going to be this one um since I already have a download downloaded I'm not going to hit open but I will show you what that looks like in a second with one I don't have downloaded um but you would just hit open um and with these two mods which this is the next one we're going to download um but with these two mods it's going to go in this section it'll automatically do that for you um because it's overwriting script in the game so it has its own little section right here um but now I'll show you what it looks like for a mod that I don't have downloaded okay so this is the second mod that I mentioned that you need to download um it's called improved UI um so you'll just do exactly what you did with Mod fixer where you'll go to the file section and download it um and then import it back into your mod manager so file import mod click on it and hit open but like I said I'm going to show you what it looks like for me to import a mod that I don't already have downloaded okay so I went ahead and found a random mod to show you what it'll look like when I import it into my mod manager um but before I download the file I'm going to read the description because um you want to double check that it doesn't require any other mods so obviously we already downloaded these two but sometimes certain mods will require like other authors mods in order to work usually you'll see that with like character creation um and if they don't have this like physically written like this like this author does um there's always going to be this section um and it'll show requirements um yeah see like I was saying so this mod requires this mod um but after I've already done that I'll go ahead and download it um and it's just one last um check to make sure that you have these downloaded so I'll download that and then go ahead and open it up in my mod manager okay so I'm back in my mod manager and I'm going to hit file and then import mod and click on the one that we just downloaded um and then I'll hit open and if it successfully imported it'll pop up right here in green if it didn't it's red um but if it did it'll pop up on the inactive side so it's right here so since it's a hair mod I'm going to take it and drag it and put it um relatively higher up in my load order um so I put it after my face mods just because face comes before hair in the uh game so after I did that then I'm going to want to make sure to hit save I lcky hit it a few times just to make sure I know for sure I saved it but now I'm going to go ahead and open up my game and just sort of show you um what a modded game looks like I'm not going to get into the actual gameplay but rather just show you the character creation screen because it's going to look a little bit different than the normal um vanilla game okay so before I show you the modded character creation screen I wanted to show you the second kind of mod file you'll come across um and it's going to require you to drop What's called the generated folder into the data folder in your balers Gate 3 game file um so I'm just going to download that okay so I've just opened up the uh mod that we just downloaded and after Double clicking on it um it's brought me to the generated folder and so this is what we're going to extract into the data folder in your game files so I'm just going to right click on it and extract to a specific folder um it's going to be local dis program files steam steam apps common balers gate data and then this is when you're going to hit okay and it's basically going to do it for you um and extract like these files into your game files if that makes sense who are you okay so I just loaded in into the game um obviously my beginner person looks different because I have mods um so I'm just going to show you kind of what it looks like so for the first tab these are all my face mods that load in as like a question mark not all mods do this but most of them it's not going to be a picture like this um this one's different because it's a replacement mod so it's basically just replacing the vanilla game files rather than adding them um so that's what my face one looks like and then body part um so for my tattoos it's the same thing is like this one it's replacing all these uh files in the game but my eyes uh my eyes are different because uh I have a blindness mod added in so it's all these like extra eye colors um but it also adds like blindness to them um my makeup nothing's different with my makeup um but majority actually all makeup mods I've come across so far um they're all replacement mods so it's going to have these same images but you're going to click through them and the makeup's going to be different hair same thing as the face mods it's like all these um added there aren't many Replacements at least I don't think any of the ones I've used are Replacements but they're all added files to the game so they just look like this um and then I have a a horn mod it's called horns of FY um it basically just lets you add horns to any like non horned character yeah so this is what it looks like um in the game when you have mods installed successfully okay so I just checked and the mod that I just downloaded um imported successfully into the game I know it obviously said that in the mod manager but sometimes um it'll say that and you'll get into the game and it still won't work nine times out a 10 that's a compatibility issue so that means like certain mods don't work with other mods and usually nine times out of 10 the author um of the mod will state in the description that their mod is not compatible with X Y and Z mods or they'll create separate files um that do make them compatible with those mods so just make sure to read the description so um you know that your mods are compatible okay so these are all the mods that I have loaded into my mod manager um I have a significant amount already imported into my generated folder um but majority of these are mods that I use every time I play um all these on this side I use like interchangeably um so like hair mods stuff like that um but there are a few that I use just to like try once but I have like some face mods um hair mods stuff like that um these are all clo clothing mods so right now I have this version in um but there's like Camp version um underwear slot version that just lets you like basically combined clothes so that one's kind of convenient um these two are pretty much the same except for obviously that one you know um but this one gives you a little bit more options so that's why I have this one downloaded um but this one this was the one that I used for Cyrus's wings um it's not actually called just angel wings although if you type that in you'll still be able to find it but the mods called Heroes never die um but this is the author too so these are all the authors for all the mods so if you see one that you like um you could just look it up by the author or the name even though the name's kind of different it should still pop up um yeah a lot of these are all what they like say they are um there aren't too many that the name is going to be different from what it actually is like Fox years it's Fox years um but there are a couple that like are required to use for other mods so some of those might be kind of confusing so just ignore those um but yeah a lot of these are what I use every day to make my characters okay so I'm going to go ahead and show you a handful of my like must have mods that I use to make all my characters um the first one being tab's hair salon this has like well over a 100 hairstyle options so it's really really great I use this one for pretty much every single character um basket full of equipment this one's amazing I don't think I haven't not used this for a character this is where I get all their clothes from also for my companions too um but with this one I use this so black dye um so my characters are always wearing all black including my companions and I use this dye the next one is this one vel's hair collection I use this one a lot for my male characters um they have really nice um male or masculine hairstyles um and then this is my dice collection um I love it I think it's really really cool um here are some pictures of it I think this is the one I'm using now the last one being coven El's tattoo and makeup collection um I think this one's really really great compared to the vanilla tattoos and makeup in the game um I use this one for pretty much all of my characters um I've been testing out a couple new ones that just released that I saw in Nexus but pretty much all my characters use this one yeah I highly recommend this one this one's is really really great super easy to install um it's the generated folder thing again but once you've done it like once or twice you get the hang of it it's pretty easy so the last thing I wanted to talk about was face mods um just because I get a lot of questions about the ones that I use I've tried pretty much every popular face mod on Nexus um even if I haven't posted it I've still like tested it out but I would just recommend going on to Nexus and typing in heads or faces into the search bar and chances are you'll find some really great ones that you like um that's kind of the cool thing about mods is being able to create characters you haven't seen before um and that's what I really enjoy doing but I would say mod at your own risk just because there's still a chance that you can mess up your game I haven't messed up my game like too badly anything that I haven't been able to fix myself um but still there is that chance so just mod at your own [Music] risk
