How To Make Shorts Like Ali Abdaal

this dude really wants to know how to edit like Ali abdall on a phone so here you go indish Alli is always using interesting backgrounds including cool paper ones like this you don't have to buy some crumpled paper background online you can just make your own all you need is piece of paper just Crump it up open it up Tick it in front of you grab your phone take a few pictures bam you got a crumpled paper background that you can immediately import into cap cut mobile let's make good use of that Background by jumping in a cap cut creating a new project clicking on this video of me adding it to the project and we'll also add the background as an overlay by clicking overlay down here and hit add overlay again jump into photos and grab that paper background that I created by taking a picture of it with my phone now I'm going to scale it up now I could use my fingers but I'm trying to let you see what's going on here so I'm going to jump over to basic and click on scale I'm just going to scale it up till it fills the frame now we want to duplicate this layer of me speaking because I'm going to be cutting me out so I can put me over the paper so we just go over to copy we click on it we select overlay and then we drag it to where we want it to be I'm just going to click and drag it down here underneath everything else in cap cut Mobile World this is the bottom layer this is the middle layer and this is the top layer if you're looking down on them I want to cut out this top layer by selecting it scrolling over to cutout and selecting remove background background's been removed now I can see how this looks I'll just hit this check mark is it possible to edit like Ali of it looks pretty clean one of the tricks is to make sure you film yourself against a plain background so it can easily cut you out and if you got a lot of wild hair put on a hat comb your hair that's going to help too what Ally does in pretty much all of his videos he'll start on a real background then fade out the real background and bring on a fake background like a paper background like this here's how you do that we simply decide where we want the paper background to start so I'm going to click on it here and I'm going to to drag it back a little bit so we have some of just me on my regular background and then we want this background to just fade up so to do that we just click on it we choose animation we choose in and we scroll over just past the pro features to the first one which is fade in and here's what it looks like with the background fading up right here I am pointing up saying Ali abdal and as I do that I want to drop to the bottom half of the frame so I can bring in an image of Ali abdal above me so I'm going to set a key frame right here where that's starting by clicking on this key frame diamond right here and a key frame just marks the beginning or the end of a change in a property we're just going to change the position and drop me down we going go forward a little bit by clicking and dragging like this because I have one key frame set if I change this position it's going to automatically set another key frame it's going to click and drag down to this half of the screen and like that it looks like this which looks okay but we'd rather have it be a little smoother so you can click on this key frame and click on this icon here to open up the motion graphs and I'll just choose ease in and hit the check mark and now it should be a little smoother next we want to bring in an image of alley so I'm just going to click on this back arrow hit overlay go into my photos and choose a photo of Aly here's one now I don't want that one I want this one so I'll click add and I want to cut out the background of alley so I'm just going to click on him scroll over to Out and because it's a photo it'll probably do an okay job I'll hit remove background and yeah did a great instant job I want it to be positioned somewhere up here so I'm just going to click on him and put him about where I want him to appear and I'll put him when when I want him to appear so I want him to appear right as I come down I want him coming on so I'm going to drag this over to here and boom he comes on it's pretty boring just static there Ali always has his Graphics coming in and moving so to do that we're going to highlight the graphic select animation select in and scroll over till we find something that's kind of cool one animation I really like is called Shake 3 it's right here to make the animation last longer we can just drag it all the way over to the right so the entire time he's on the screen Shake's going to be happening he's going to be moving just like Ally so we click the check mark and we see how that looks is it possible to edit like Ali abdal using just your phone and now for just your phone what if we could show an actual phone animating on the screen we can all you do is we click add overlay we find this other picture I have of alley I click add click on animation click on combo and then I have to scroll over to smartphone which is a really cool 3D animation that happens to be free here it is I'll hit the check mark and then we'll check out the timing here all using just your phone in cap cut so right around the time I say cap cut I want to probably end this I'm just going to click on it hit split and then delete this other half I use my keyboard I got the Bluetooth keyboard hooked up because you know fingers and right now it looks like this like Ali ABD using just your phone in cap cut as the phone comes in I want to be leaving the frame and to do that gracefully we want to select an animation and we want it to end at the right place so I want to be gone about here I'm going to click it on the end of this slide it over and make sure this is highlighted select animation and choose an out the out that's going to work for us is called slide down I click on thisy now we want to have me come back on screen as the phone is leaving the screen to do that right around here I will start to slide into the screen instead of being on it so I'm going to click on this guy again select animation select in and scroll over to slide left or slide right whatever pops up first here's slide left and I think that looks pretty great so so far we have some of this is it possible to edit like Ali abdal using just your phone in capcut well you can watch me create I think right there I want the real background to fade back in so I'm just going to fade this one out going to go back a few frames and select opacity I'm going to hit a key frame so it starts at 100 go forward a few frames and then take it down and as I take it down notice that it set another key frame so now it looks pretty natural like this by clicking the link I'm happy with that what I'm not really happy with is the color of this background it looks kind of too blue for for our setting so to modify it you just click on it and you select adjust which is right here and then we have all these parameters we can modify we can make it maybe a tiny bit brighter we can lower the saturation so we get less color and it's more like a white background we can also mess with the highlights by clicking here and taking it up a little bit so maybe it's a little bit brighter another way to enhance this a little bit is to add a little bit of a vignette so I click on vignette and bring that up a tiny bit and then it looks a little bit less plain it would be cool if some text appeared on this screen at the same time as Aly appeared on the screen just going tock on add text going to click in here because my keyboard's hooked up you can't see me typing but i'm going to type edit like alley and then I'm going to choose the font how about something big and readable and I'm going to hit the check mark and I'm going to drag it up here Aly sometimes has glowy text so we can just click on style and select one of these predetermined Styles like that one's kind of cool I don't think I want the stroke or not so big so I'm going to click on stroke and make it much smaller then I'm going to click on glow and we've got a glow right here let's make a little bit bigger next we need a little animation for the text Ali always has something happening with the text when he brings it on so we highlight the text select style go over to animation choose what happens when it comes in by selecting in we can have it say throw out like that looks pretty cool if we want it to last longer we can can just drag this up and we select a way for it to leave the screen how about slide down well you can watch I think that'll work we just have to decide where it ends probably before that thing shows up so I'll just select it hit split delete this second half when I deleted it the out animation ended so I'm just going to select it choose style select animation again and choose a different out or the same out slide down just and you'll notice these sliders down here that let you adjust the duration of the in and the out so I'm going to drag the in over here to that and drag the out and drag the out to here and now it should look pretty good let's see how that looks AB doll using just your phone in cap cut next Ali always uses captions in his videos to do that you just click on autoc captions here on the bottom select our language we're going to go with English we're going to hit start then I'm going to scroll to the beginning of the video click on the very first caption and select batch edit we want only three to five words in each set of captions that appear on the screen we do that by clicking in each of these and hitting return where we want it to start the next line in this section we can also check spelling and see if there's any errors here I see that the I the first letter is NOT capitalized so we'll capitalize that hit the check mark and looking better already next we're going to try to match Ali Style with a caption so I will select the caption I will select style and then I will make sure apply to autoc captions is selected with this selected it modifies all the captions and not just the one I have highlighted I will click on style go to background and click on this first guy and make it match this they already have this predetermined style where the text is black and the background is white so I just click on that and the corners is already rounded which looks similar to alleys and I'm going to position this right in the middle of the screen for now and scale it up maybe a tiny bit so it's really readable and I'm going to hit the check mark and you'll notice that all the captions now match now sometimes the captions aren't in the right place like here it's over my head so to fix that I click on this caption I select style I uncheck apply to autoc captions and now anything I do to this will only modify this one so I'm going to put it down here and hit check and go to the next guy and see if anything else needs some help from me that guy is too high I'm going to drag him down and then you can just modify all the captions independently to make them suit your needs here I don't like it blocking the phone so I'm going to take this caption and move it to the top and I'm going to modify it further I'm just going to click on Style again and choose style and choose this guy which is a little more fun get rid of most of that stroke and I'm going to change the font so it stands out more so I'm just going to click on font here and choose a bigger more obnoxious font like bangers and scaling it up with a size slider then I'm going to select glow give it some glow make the glow Yellow by finding yellow here and selecting it and maybe get rid of that Stroke by taking the thickness down a little bit and then clicking on animation so it kind of comes in fun we'll just have it throw out like that and then we'll have an out animation which looks like roll out cut we get to Jesse sliders so they each do their own thing at about the same speed and we click this and see how it looks your phone in cap cut well you can watch me create this using the principles I just shared with you I'm going to just polish it up a little bit add a few more Graphics exactly the same way and then I'll add a little music and sound effects and it'll give us this is it possible to
