[Music] this morning i love it i love it i love it i love it hello mommy and daddy how are you hello hello people i am so happy to be in the kitchen with you on this beautiful cloudy but still beautiful wednesday morning today we come to you guys because we love you obviously and mommy's in the kitchen and you already know when mommy's in the kitchen wah gwan so we're not even gonna hold it up you guys already get your thumbs your likes going the comments going the love going we love talking to you guys you guys get started with that and without further ado mommy tell the people them where we are cook today bread pudding with bailey's irish cream [Laughter] all right so today we are making bread pudding with bailey's irish cream so you know mommy has a knack for those pastries and all that good sweet stuff so uh we're gonna get straight on into it so mommy let's get right into it what are our first steps here our first step is that we you can use whatever bread you have most of the time when we were growing up they use the bread that is a little bit older in the fridge um today we have some hard-oh bread that's a little bit older in the fridge and this is cebata bread this is italian bread that i bought ciabatta bread so i bought that and what i did i cubed it i cubed it okay so i cut them across crisscross them and then we're just gonna throw them in the pan cube them they're all cubes so we're gonna throw them into a dish okay there we go all right yeah i'm gonna pull them apart they're all cubed and then just everything gets cubed even like these oh yeah these are cute too yeah but i'm going to show you how i cubed um that one okay okay and you just throw them into one piece yeah just throw them into one container and just like a pile of bread here okay throw it in there throw it in there if you guys can hear that sound in the background it's the oven preheating so okay so for the the hardo bread what i did i just cut it in half here and then i just cut it across again okay right and they there they are they're cubed okay so this is more than enough bread for us here to make the um the i think this is nine or ten inch um bacon dish that we have okay all right all right the casserole dish that's what so now we're gonna start mixing combining the liquid ingredients okay okay i'm gonna start with two cups of milk actually i you can use whatever milk you want i actually combined some of my lactose-free milk with some um with some carnation milk because i was out of the homer milk so you can use two percent one percent carnation milk whatever milk that you have at home you can use that okay so i am gonna pour it into the container here so that's the milk okay um another thing i have one cup of sugar one cup of sugar brown sugar brown sugar i'm gonna pour it in that there we go we have the different spices we have red label i'm gonna put some red label um wine in it i will be putting some jerry and nephew um rum in it and then half cup of bay leaves okay so i'm just gonna rest this here and then i'm gonna pour the baileys so i have half cup so this is half cup of bay leaves all right if you look at that y'all okay let's close that up another half cup of red label wine okay close that okay now for the um for the jr never rum i have a quarter cup the quarter cup makes measurement here all of them okay and then i'll be putting all the spices in it now so i have one teaspoon of cinnamon here we go one teaspoon of nutmeg one teaspoon of mixed spice and mixed spice is this right here yeah that's the irie brand that we have here okay yeah and um one tablespoon of vanilla which benjamin's vanilla a quarter teaspoon of salt sea salt okay um this will leave this for a bit that's the raisins that's been soaked up in the um baileys okay okay but we're gonna use that last okay another thing that we're gonna add here is the condensed milk i'm gonna be putting a half half can of this condensed milk okay okay so i'm just gonna pour that in about a half okay and now i'm gonna mix mix all this wet ingredients together i'm just gonna whisk it all together meanwhile i'm doing that daddy can you blend up the um the egg okay so that all the year whisk whisk it all with two eggs we have two eggs there [Music] i'm just mixing all the sugar and all the ingredients that i put in together oh if you smell this guys i know it's gonna be yummy just based off of the smell i smell right now shouldn't take long to do it's a very easy recipe um the longest is for it to to actually bake in the oven which is gonna be at least an hour okay in the oven so it's relatively a short recipe yeah okay i like that i like that short sweet and spicy hello so this was the egg this was two eggs and and daddy has blended it together he has whipped it together okay to get the air out of it okay so now he's gonna throw throw it into my mixture here gonna pour it all in [Music] and the help that the egg helps to bring the bread bring everything together [Music] okay so now i will be moving over to the bread here and i'll be putting the bread the bread into this pan the casserole dish here it's already buttered i already um baste the the container so i'm going to be putting the bread what did you base it with louis i based it with butter we actually have the spray butter the pan the pan so with it yeah so i sprayed it okay okay all right so now i'm gonna just fill in some the bread just space them out space them out nicely okay yeah so that it um it will be able to absorb the ingredients or the liquid this is so interesting for some reason i always felt like bread pudding was like you know flour and stuff and then like maybe sprinkles of bread in there but i didn't realize it was based all bread base yeah well the bread is already made with flour so you already have your flour right [Music] okay and then now i have my raisins okay these are the raisins you see how they plumped up i soaked them in some of the baileys okay all right soaked it for at least more than half an hour i soaked it for okay but if you know that you're gonna do it the next day you could have could soak it overnight also okay all right all right so i'm just gonna sprinkle some of that over the bread here look at that you guys we call it ting fancy i've never ever seen the bread pudding made ever i've never known how it's been made okay and now now i'm gonna put a little bit a little bit some of here some of this the liquid on top of the bread sorry some liquid onto the bread y'all mm-hmm look at that are you telling me this doesn't look good already oh my gosh okay another thing you can do you can just just press it in so that it will absorb the bread will absorb the liquid this is going to be so good i know it yeah i can sense it not true daddy it's going to be popping popping okay so just let let it just stay there for a little bit and soak up the nice juices the italian bread is a it takes a little bit more to soak the ciabatta as sasha says yeah yeah but if you don't have any stale bread you can just buy fresh bread and and it works this just the same okay just gonna put a little bit more on this and like if you run out of um the liquid can you make more yeah if you run out of the liquid just add some more milk to it you know maybe you might need to just spice it up a little bit more the milk okay okay now i'm gonna add the rest of the bread on top so mommy have you always liked baking and doing all this kind of stuff um yes yes i i do but you know never get really get much time to do it um grew up with my sister sheila that she she loves to bake and she's always baking shout out to yeah yeah and and my auntie chiller auntie trilla used to bake bread pudding when we were growing up in lindsay jamaica yeah yeah hi auntie chiller she used to make this all the time yeah and it really come came out good when she made we really liked it as children [Music] mm-hmm okay so the process is kind of layered yeah you just layer them and you kind of do the same thing ever again on top right okay i follow i follow are you guys following i hope you're following mommy has a way of making this is for you okay so now we're going to put the rest of the um the rest of the raisins that's left there just throw it on top with the baileys oh lord it smells good a lot nice it is smells so good this baileys man and the uh and the rum you can smell it okay and then i'm just gonna whatever the liquid that is left i'm just gonna pour it all over pour it all over there pour it in here we go so now i'm just going to use the spoon here and just press press it in so that it's absorbed in there oh my gosh guys if you could smell this oh my lord smells so good i know so that this is going to be good i can tell you that too i've never watched a bread pudding be made ever but i know for sure that this one is about to be the one to beat yeah well we want sasha to make hers next week so that you guys can see it right funny yep yep yep we want sasha to make hers no count on yeah to try and put yeah yeah that's it throw you guys can imagine growing up in a cooking family and she can't cook it what kind of thing is that yeah that's just crazy no it makes all of the sense because you guys were always hogging the kitchen oh my lord they only called me when the food was ready and when it was time to clean up the kitchen okay that was it yeah so there we go there it's right really absorbed okay yeah i could definitely tell the difference yeah there was oh all the bread is wet yeah all of it is soaked up wet wet wet yeah yep okay so now what we're gonna do we have we have the oven preset preheated at 350 degrees it's at 350 okay yeah 350 350 and then we're going to get a piece of foil um to cover it cover in this now to put it in the oven all right and we're gonna put it in the oven it's gonna stay in the oven for about an hour okay okay all right all right and then we'll come back to you and show you our final result um i i'll be probably basting it with a little bit of um maple syrup with a pastry brush when at the end and leave it open so that it can brown a little bit all right well we're here with you today mommy so all right we'll watch okay so and when you're putting in the oven put it on the middle rack okay the middle okay so you lifted that bottom rack to the middle yeah so i'm gonna put it in here now [Music] okay all right then we wait an hour right yeah and we'll set the timer for an hour okay so timer uh six zero uh time one hour all right okay thank you all right so here we are the hour is up so let's check it and see if it's baked an hour a little okay let's put it out here [Music] you guys oh if you could smell this okay i think it's good i think it's good so how do you tell because usually yes when you but but it's okay because what we're gonna do now we're gonna put um some um maple syrup on it brush it on and just maybe so say give about 10 10 minutes 10 to 10 minutes or so um so that we have um that brown look and in the meantime if there's anything else left to be dried out in it it will dry out so i'm going to use some maple syrup here i have some maple syrup yeah that's a present president's choice in canada here and i'm just gonna use the pastry brush and just brush it on okay yeah so that we can have that brownie you know a little bit browny color okay so are you gonna put it in a dish and then brush it on or you're just gonna no no i'm just gonna pour it right on okay and then i'm just gonna let's see how this is so just pour it on this is maple maple syrup you know as canadians love our maple syrup shout out to canada okay so on this side here even though then they forget their lockdown situation i'm dealt with still shout out to canada you guys can't tell me that you're not salivating right now i know your mouth is salivating because mine is salivating i know yours is salivating okay so we're going to leave it open there for a bit and just let it get like let it just get a little bit brown on top there okay and then after that it will be done back on in back on in so how long approximately i'll say between five and ten minutes okay just to let it brown we look at it so it can cycle a little bit yep all right that's it all right so we'll be back in five minutes all right final check guys final check another building okay look at it look funny it looked good not true it's that little jiggle for me yeah a little bit chicken it's cool it's good it's good it's good it's good right look at that you guys oh my gosh oh i can eat the whole thing to my face right now okay so now i'm going to turn off the oven and then i'm going to put it out here so that it can cool on the stove you guys you you you see that jiggle you see a little jiggle it was doing just cool it and then you can it's up to you you can either eat it hot or cold um sometimes some people put a little bit of ice cream on it or whatever maybe some sauce vanilla sauce or i'm not however you want to um do it but it's very tasty okay and i hope you guys really try it and enjoy this recipe okay so mommy uh what like 15 minutes to settle workshop before honey let it cool for maybe at least half an hour you know because it comes together nicer when it when it's cool okay okay yeah i can't wait for it to chill out a little bit i still want it a little bit warm with a scoop of ice cream yeah let's wait for it and then we'll just cut them their piece yep yeah with a scoop of ice cream would be really nice okay guys here we are our finished product is oh it's already cooled still a little bit warm and don't get discouraged if you see it like flattens out like this it's okay all right that's how supposed yeah that's how it's supposed to be all right all right so let's get it so i'm gonna cut a piece of it it's a little bit stuck here i like those crispy edges that's on me and then we're going to pull their piece out
