hi everybody I'm back and today today I'm going to show you all how to make cream cheese breakfast danishes here's what you'll need okay everyone you will need puff pastry okay in this puff pastry right here it comes through the frozen section and you want to make sure that you thaw it out it takes around about 35 minutes to thaw it out in your refrigerator you will need 8 ounces of cream cheese at room temperature 1/4 cup of granulated sugar 1 egg yolk room temperature 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla extract and you're going to need one teaspoon of zest from the lemons that I have there you're going to need a round about maybe one and a half cups of fresh berries you can see over here I've washed these beautiful strawberries and blueberries ok if you wanted to use hey if you wanted to use peaches or raspberries absolutely you could so that's what you're going to need for how to make the danishes ok I'm stumbling forwards guys but it's ok you're gonna make an egg wash and of course for our egg wash you're just gonna need one whole egg and a tablespoon of water and then I'm gonna show you all how to make a beautiful guys listen to me you hear me I'm gonna show you all how to make a beautiful lemon glaze and this libbing glaze consists of a half a cup of powdered sugar a half a teaspoon of lemon zest and then we're just gonna put like a tablespoon of the fresh lemon juice ok so let's go ahead and get started and the first thing that I want to do well go ahead and make our cream cheese filling and get that done and over with and then I'll show you what you need to do in order to make this beautiful puff pastry to hold our cream cheese okay everyone if you hear a little bit of noise in the background I'm opening up my cream cheese but if you hear a little bit of noise in a background it's just my dishwasher that I have going today we'll get started on our filling this filling is so simple but you want to make sure that's your cream cheese and we're gonna use this whole eight ounce package get your cream cheese is nice and room temperature okay because honestly I'm gonna be honest if it's not room temperature then you're gonna have a tough time mixing it up okay let me grab a knife guys okay everyone I'm back I had to wrestle with the cream cheese packet alright so you put your softened cream cheese in 1/4 cup with your granulated white sugar we're gonna put just one egg yolk not the whites just a yolk only okay get that in there just like so all right at the end we're gonna go in with some vanilla you're just gonna put a half a teaspoon in okay me knowing me when I use vanilla I always go overboard on purpose because I love the flavor that vanilla gives and it smells so good okay so let's put that in there just like so and then we're going to need to put some zest into our mixture and then we're gonna beat everything up on a medium speed until it's nice and beautiful and creamy okay creamy and smooth okay if you wanted to put more zest in absolutely you can when you're zesting the lemon okay or a lime you want to make sure you don't get this part here because that part there is the pith and it begins to get a little sour once you touch that part so just the outer side is all you're going to need okay that's about all we're gonna need it's gonna give it such a beautiful flavor you hear me oh yeah absolutely it will okay so then we're going to go in with our handheld mixer today if you don't have a handheld mixer hey no worries don't you worry one bit because you can mix this by hand because this cream cheese right now this cream cheese is so soft that you would be able to take a wooden spoon or a spatula and you would be able to whip it up by hand okay so I'm gonna turn the video off and put it on pause while I do this so that you don't have to hear the noise I'll be back everyone we turn that off that's it like I said mix it for about 2-3 minutes you can even mix it for about a minute and a half that's all you need all right we'll take these beaters off and we'll set our mixture aside and then I'm going to show you how to prepare our beautiful paste puff pastry a lot of people don't use puff pastry and don't know a lot about it puff pastry is already made for you and you own that no meat you know that I love stuff that's pre-made it's gonna taste good and always turn out right well this here is the product for you you use paste puff but why can't I see it guys pastry for absolutely anything hey you could use that for the top of a pot pie if you want it look at this filling see how beautiful and boy does it taste good you hear me so simple all right we'll set that aside then let me show you what we're gonna do with the puff pastry I'm gonna say it right for the rest of the video guys I'm not gonna stumble for my words I hope you all were having a great day today if you all had a great work day this here is something that you can make for your family any morning it's so quick so much fun and it tastes so good I'm just going and you'll see that it has some flour on it see that that's okay all right we need that flour on there you're gonna take your rolling pin you're just gonna roll it out just a little bit okay just a little bit as all you need okay we're not trying to get it flat we just want to go over it a few times okay that's perfect now what we're gonna do let me grab my pizza slicer and I'm going to show you something really unique okay so what you want to do see this is the short way this is the long way go across the long way just like so and I want you to cut some strips okay if they're not even that's okay don't worry about it no worries in this kitchen okay can you keep on just like so until you get the whole thing cut up and then we're going to take two pieces and we're going to combine those pieces together let's move this out of the way this right here is something that your grandkids can do get the kids in the kitchen when you get the kids in the kitchen they have so much fun okay now check me out guys you're gonna take two piece let's take the pieces and kind of separate them at first just like this you don't have to be afraid of this dough if it tears you commend it right back together okay absolutely you can okay so let's take to these two pieces and you're gonna want to mend them together just like so see how simple just take your time mend it together okay we're gonna need a little bit of water just a little tiny bit not a lot guys that's it okay and so it's mended together so from here what you're going to do is you're going to take this part right here you're gonna kind of do that all right trust me guys and then you're going to take your pastry and you want to twist it okay and just keep twisting it to where it looks like at rolled up ribbon now you undo you don't want to make it too tight okay you want to come to like a loose ribbon okay you all know just like this all right check me out guys we're gonna take this part here we're gonna go in all right can you all see me let me know in the comment section if you all can see this well okay just like this trust me baby oh yeah and then we're just gonna do this just like so okay can you all see that that right there and let me come a little closer that right there is what your base is going to look like all right and we're going to do several others I'm gonna do one more for you okay let me grab my pen that I'm gonna use to put these on right here I have a nice cookie sheet and we're going to put this onto our cookie sheet just like so okay see that beautiful I have my oven preheated to 400 degrees all right so let's take two more pieces a little bit more water so that I commend those two pieces I should have had a little tiny ramekin over here so that I can mend those pieces instead of having to go to the sink but then you'll do the same thing twist it just twist it baby you all know how to do this something easy something fun and something so tasty nice and sweet you can have it in the morning hey listen here you can have this Danish for lunch for afternoon or brunch whatever you choose okay feel free absolutely okay can you all see that and we're going to do the same thing here same thing guys just keep going about until you get this beautiful rolled Danish look okay now they're all going to look different which is awesome you know I loved a different look with each and each and every one will have a different look and then there's one thing I need to show you that I didn't show you with the other one and we'll do it right now I'm gonna take my ring off you're gonna want to poke holes in this bottom piece this bottom piece is the part where we're going to put our beautiful nice sweet cream cheese but by poking holes in it is going to prevent it from puffing up so much okay so we're going to poke us some holes like I said oh yeah it's gonna puff up but it's not gonna puff up as much as the other pieces because we have holes in it okay see that just like so and put this bad boy right on there as well okay like I said each one will be different in shape maybe even different sizes and that's okay with me these are gonna cook at 400 degrees for around about we'll just see maybe 15 minutes 12 to 15 minutes okay and you want to go ahead and turn it turn it baby turn it and then we're gonna put our filling in and then I'm gonna show you what we're gonna do with our beautiful fruit like I said feel free to use peaches whatever you would like to use possibilities are endless when you're filling the inside of this mmm okay there we go baby get started and keep on going don't stop and see it get to the end oh yeah see that beautiful and then don't forget poke you some holes guys all right just like that ever so gently but make sure you get the holes on there all right I'm gonna set this over here and then we're going to bring our mix into the equation okay and you're just going to take a nice a melon around about this much okay I make sure I don't put this on my stove because my stove is preheating and you don't want to heat up that icing or this feeling okay so then what you're gonna do is you just dollop dalip you some right dab in the middle you hear me and it has that lemon flavor guys do you hear me me oh my now see these will be for dessert tonight and they'll also be for breakfast morning oh yeah absolutely we have some errands to run tomorrow morning so what we're gonna do is we're gonna grab us a Danish we're gonna nuke this bad boy in the microwave for around about eight seconds get us a glass of milk and we can go you hear me whoo it's beautiful absolutely it is oh yeah baby so then next what you're going to want to do is you're gonna take let me rinse some of this flour off of my fingers guys I'm so excited for this Danish yes I am mm-hmm and I love what I love about this as I love that hint just the hint of that lemon that's inside is beautiful okay so you're gonna take nicely clean strawberries I've pre cleaned the strawberries and the blueberries as well you can put them in whole if you want it's really up to your discretion I like to just slice them just like so okay do we have a good picture of this oh yeah put your strawberry on where do you put it Gina hey just put it on there you know this plate right on there it doesn't matter it's gonna be beautiful no matter what you put it okay see that oh yeah no specific place put it right in the middle if you don't want blueberries hey don't put any okay it's up to you you can make each one different like I'm going to okay this one here it's just gonna have blueberries absolutely check them out guys all right let me do one more for you all and then what I'll do is off-camera I'll fill my other cookie sheet up with the danishes as well and then we'll get them put in the in the up utak I love doing anything that entitles dealing with dough absolutely I do is kind of fun it reminds you of being a child and playing with play-doh or clay you know it's kind of fun and then when you get to eat it hey it's even better right absolutely it is oh yeah baby mm-hmm and just keep going just like this all right each one like I said they'll all look different but guess what they're all going to taste the same and they are gonna be delicious do you hear me what are gonna be delicious and then you just tuck the bottom piece up under and kind of smash it together don't forget to put your holes guys just like so so that bottom doesn't puff up there we go beautiful if I can do it you all can do the same and here's the thing I say that a lot but I'm so serious if I can do this you all can do the same thing trust me when I tell you this okay oh yeah all right so this one here how about we cut up some strawberry pieces okay and then put them on there in that manner do what you want you don't have to make them all the same and then you can look at them and say oh my goodness I don't know which one to choose they're all so beautiful you know I know I get silly in this kitchen but I'm so serious all right let's bring cookie sheet back in effect this one really has a beautiful look beautiful oh yeah baby okay I'm gonna do the others we'll put this in the oven on 400 degrees but before this goes in the oven I'm gonna show you how to put a nice egg yolk and water we're gonna brush egg yolk and water on here so it can be nice and beautiful and glossy I'll be back everyone okay everybody what I was trying to say earlier is we want to put an egg wash on there I have one egg and just a little bit of water very well and then we're gonna take a pastry brush and we're gonna brush step on to the pastry part only okay this is gonna give it a really beautiful glossy golden brown color to pay attention to the pastry I said that right guys can't jump into it because once it gets your desired color you're looking for that I want you to go ahead and take it on out okay this doesn't take long to cook at all I have so much fun doing this okay so I'm just dipping into my egg wash that I couldn't figure out how to say it earlier I've just had a busy day today guys we've been running around all day and on I don't think that my mind has quite settled down yet but it will it better because I got a video to make later I got another video to make right after this one and that video is going to be for something that you all have asked for I want to tell you but I'm not gonna tell you so make sure you all stay tuned absolutely because we're having something good here at the Young's house for dinner do you hear me oh yeah you hear me look at this guy's it's gonna make it nice and beautiful okay I'm gonna do the other ones off-camera and then we'll go ahead and get them in the oven 400 degrees pay attention to them when they come out I'll let you know exactly how long mines took to cook because oven temperatures may vary different ovens and different altitudes in people's houses okay all right I'm gonna do this other one I'll be back after they come out of the oven okay everybody so here's what I was going to show you all how to make our beautiful glaze when they came out but why not make it now okay so we're gonna need 1/2 a cup of powdered sugar if you want to you can put lemon zest but I'm not gonna do lemon zest okay because I have lemon zest in our filling okay and we're gonna need 1 tablespoon of this fresh lemon juice oh yeah baby just get you some in there okay I love to put this glaze on there but by all means you don't have to put a glaze on if you don't want to okay let's go in mix it up just like so and you'll see it all coming together right before your eyes okay just like this and here's your place all right you can just keep your glaze on the counter until your danishes come out of the oven and what I like to do is I like to wait maybe a good five to seven minutes and give all the second to cool down before I put my glaze on okay just like this let's see I got a seed in there I don't know how when I use my strainer but that's okay it's out now would it taste good let me taste that one more time guys I can't I'm so sorry and it is delicious you don't need a lot of place okay cuz what we're gonna do is we're just gonna drizzle it we're just gonna drizzle it right over the top after they're done you're baking in the oven when they come out I'll let you know how long they baked I'll give it a try and let you all know what it tastes like okay everyone our beautiful danishes have came out of the oven they were in the oven for 15 minutes whoops let's fix my camera guys so it doesn't jump around like that okay now here's what I'd like to do let me show you I have to show you the bottom of this it's hot yes it's hot but I have to show you look how beautiful you see that hey listen here mmm do you all see this do you all see this my goodness and that cream-cheese filling in the middle my word mm-hmm okay see nothing like it hey listen here this is for dessert this is for breakfast this is for lunch I'm gonna put them all on the same thing because I would like to get them all nice and glazed what keep eating that off of there cuz this is so good mine oh yeah baby mm-hmm hey when I said I was making danishes today that's what I came to me yeah danishes 101 at the Young's house you never had them before you better make you some absolutely why not because the recipe is so stinkin easy look at this I'm just gonna take my whisk okay can you all see me and I'm just gonna do a nice drizzle okay it doesn't matter how it goes along just get you some on there baby you hear me look at this nice and beautiful oh okay oh yeah now my mouth is totally drooling right now I am salivating that's a word
