How To make activated charcoal for your health and water filtration

hey family farmer 73 here let's make activated charcoal first thing we're going to need is 100 all natural hardwood lump charcoal that's what we're looking for next pour it on the ground and make it easier to crunch up watch how fast this goes okay that's very fine we crushed that down to almost a powder right there that's not bad look at how fine that is that is nice i got some fine ground up uh carbon here now what we're going to do take our mortar and pestle and grind it down into powder i'm going to try to do a little at a [Music] time ladylike love this because she always buying activated charcoal and we just gonna make it from now on okay here's the finished product the powder that is nice but it's not all the way so we're just going to leave it here what we're going to do next is filter it through a sieve and just get that powder that's all we're gonna do shake out that fine powder and see what we got look at that i'm gonna finish this and we're gonna come back okay we're in the house now and this is our finely grounded charcoal powder it don't even stick to you all right now we're going to activate it so what we're going to do what i pulled out was check it out da da fresh lemon juice freshly squeezed and canned last year so i'm gonna be using my own lemon juice as the uh acid so we're gonna use one ounce of lemon juice to three ounces of water we're gonna mix that right now okay this is where it's asking for distilled water or purified water so we came to the berkey system and i'm gonna get three ounces of water here maybe a little more just in case okay we got four ounces right here so i'm gonna bring my water up almost there we go and now i'm going to open our fresh lemon juice after all this time oh that's some good see canon skills on point oh there we go well we know that worked okay family we're going to we got our water now we're going to put about an ounce of lemon juice in here try not to disturb the pulp that ought to do it right there now i'm gonna add that to our water solution okay now that we have our lemon and water solution i'll put that to the side and now we're going to measure out eight ounces of our charcoal powder a cup here okay we got eight ounces of charcoal we're gonna put that right in here okay we're gonna add our lemon juice we're going to add our lemon juice water mixture and we want to make sure that covers over the top of our solution i'm gonna get at a mix just to get it all in there good okay gonna cover this up for 24 hours and we'll come back and give it a rinse okay it's been not just 24 hours been 48 hours just finding the time to get it and this is what we got so what we're going to do i got a coffee filter here got a paint strainer we're going to get that into here first let's see what we looking at here it's like a pace now let's get that in here and see if we can get it straightened out we'll do this for a few minutes and get all the liquid off and see what our end product is okay we're coming to the end of the row here i'm not trying to dry it out i'm just trying to drain the liquid off let the oven do the rest so our next step is to get this onto a cookie sheet and dry it completely okay here we're going to scrape it off onto our cookie sheet i got a baking pan here glass baking pan imma spread it out so it can uh make a little faster to dry [Music] ready let's get it in the oven so i got my oven at 225 and i'm going to [Music] put my carbon in the oven for an hour to two hours or until it's dry all right family let's get this stuff out the oven here let's see what we got oh yeah here we go we got it activated charcoal it's looking good fam so now now that we're all done what i want to do now is put it in an airproof jar so it doesn't start absorbing all of the smells and odors and everything around inside your house so we got a air proof jar right here and we're going to get that in there right now save it so all we're gonna do here is just i'm gonna take a piece of paper make it into a funnel just like kindergarten and i'm gonna scoop let's just pour our charcoal right in just like voila activated charcoal all sealed up and ready to go it's that easy seal him up and store it away you can't beat that so there you go family activated charcoal it's that simple it works all right so now i want you to try it don't just watch this video i want you to try it now too all right let farmer 73 i hope this helped you because it will help you in the days to come all right live on 73. i love you and i'm out
