How to Identify a Pure Shih Tzu Puppy?

we all have to agree that all shih tzu are equally adorable but many dog owners prefer purebred shiitsu over mixed ones because with purebreds you know what to expect you have a good idea of the breed's physical appearance and behavioral characteristics but how do you identify if the sheetsu is purebred we will find out in this video of shiitsu care the quickest and easiest way to identify a purebred sheetsu puppy is by looking for common physical indicators that all pure sheet zoo have let's take a look at them number one check if the puppy has a curved tail pure shiitsu will never have a straight or laid down tail their tail is curved upwards over their backs and it's quite bushy number two look at their ears shitsu has droopy and large ears almost as long as their face and they are covered with long hair pure ones will never have small or standing ears apart from that the bottom part of their ears is slightly darker in color however sometimes the color may not change until they are adults number three check their eyes shih tzu have round and large eyes which are placed well apart usually their eyes are very dark in color number four check their nose they have a somewhat flat nose with wide nostrils the color of their nose is usually black but it can be bluish in some puppies number five examine their coat so run your hands and feel their coat shitsu have a double layered coat that is long and dense the color of their coat doesn't matter as shitsu have any color of coat their coat can be two colored tri-colored or even one solid color apart from these physical indicators you must also look for behavioral indicators shitsu are very energetic in nature and have a playful personality they are very affectionate and social with everyone even though they are incredibly smart they can show stubbornness from time to time there are quite a few dog breeds that are very similar to our shih tzu like maltese pecans and lhasa apso shitsu and all these breeds look alike so don't get confused while getting a pup if you already have a puppy and want to be 100 sure about their ancestry then consider taking a dog dna test you can easily get a dog dna test kit from amazon and these tests are pretty accurate if you have any questions please let me know in the comments down below and don't forget to like this video and subscribe to our channel for more sheetsu care videos see ya
