what is going on youtube my name is matt burger and today we're flipping another bike you guys are looking at a 2005 yamaha yz-125 i picked it up off facebook marketplace for 2 300. now i know that sounds like a lot when we're doing a flip but there's not going to be a whole lot we got to do to this bike in this video you guys going to see the whole flip process from start to finish what the bike looks like now how much money we invest into it how much time we have into it and at the end of the video you guys will see our overall profit so as you guys can see this thing's already in really good shape a lot of those big ticket items are already there we got the black wheels which is huge the motor all works you know it starts up it runs good all right let's get moving get this bike outside i'm gonna rip all the plastics off really give it a good power washing [Music] so [Music] all right we got the bike here up in the stand first area i want to hit is the cockpit area we're ripping these barkbusters off dropping these forks back down to the stock height we got new grips new bar pad new lever now it's a pretty big overlooked area on used bikes you get them and they always look like this uh for not a lot of time not a lot of money you can get some new grips new levers clean everything up that way when the person's buying the bike they've got a nice fresh clean cockpit that they can kind of start from and customize if they choose to [Music] so unfortunately the closer i look the bars are actually bent we're gonna have to replace them as you guys can see here uh right about here is where they're bent they're kind of tweaked i already tried loosen this putting a big pipe on the end uh tried bending them back that didn't work so i had these laying around they're in pretty good shape so we'll go ahead and throw these on there [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] all right next thing up chain and sprockets they are absolutely whooped some teeth are broken on the front one rear one's all worn and this chain is just uh all loose so we're gonna go ahead replace those i have some rear sprockets that are still in really good shape some are brand new so we're gonna go ahead and dig through those hopefully one of those fit and then we'll have to purchase a front sprocket and a chain [Applause] [Music] all right so none of those other sprockets work but this one's actually in really good shape so we're gonna go ahead and keep it and we're still just going to replace the front sprocket in the chain [Music] ah that is awesome it's still got the original yamaha from 05 on there it's actually in pretty good shape so we're gonna go ahead and leave that [Music] [Applause] [Music] the next thing i want to take care of is this brake pedal somebody obviously like spray painted this in the past so i'm just going to pop this off uh take it over the bench grinder get all that old paint off there shine it up and then i will throw it back on [Music] last big thing before getting this bike back together is working on this pipe it's pretty rusty right now a couple little dings those aren't a big deal uh we're gonna go ahead wire wheel the entire thing get all this rust off and i'm gonna go ahead and take the torch reheat up those weld marks i think it's gonna really look good so we'll go ahead take this thing off get it over the bench and we'll get to work man this thing turned out awesome it cleaned up really good a lot better than you know spending 200 bucks on a new one so i'll go ahead get out the torch and we'll uh we'll heat up these wall marks and see how it looks [Music] oh that is awesome look how that thing turned out oh i wish we could get rid of those dents but you know i'm not spending 200 bucks on a new pipe so this is a heck of a lot better than the other one and i cannot wait to get it on the bike all right it is time for my favorite part of this entire process putting on the plastics this is the polysport 2019 front end restyle kit so i'm going to go ahead open this up start getting it on the bike [Music] all right so what i always like to do is an oem style graphic uh luckily i was able to just pick these up off rocky mountain factory effects already makes them they're just the shroud and tank graphics um so i'm gonna go ahead and wipe these down and we'll throw these on here real quick [Music] last few things before the bike is finished these front wheel bearings are just ever so slightly moving i ordered new ones we're gonna replace those this front tire is just whooped and i honestly don't even know what this thing is so uh we're gonna go ahead and replace that with one with some decent tread and then lastly we have the front sprocket and the chain we'll get those put on this thing will be ready to go we'll go ahead spray it down with some sc1 clear coat get it outside take some photos and it'll be ready to list for sale [Music] [Applause] [Music] yes there you have it the bike turned out awesome it's gonna make a great bike for somebody it's been a few weeks now so i finally sold it i can finally make this video uh so let's run through the most important part let's talk about the cost i paid 2 300 for this bike a couple months ago and i keep my google sheets here as you guys can see it's pretty simple got my original purchase price all my parts and then we have a grand total of 2548 dollars into this bike so not too bad i knew this one would be a little higher on my price but it was a lot less work so let's go ahead and i'll show you guys how long we worked on it pretty simple i just keep notes in my phone each of the days the hours so we have a total of 15 hours over the course of five days on this bike not a whole lot of work i knew that going in no motor work just kind of cosmetic maintenance stuff uh and having less hours into it i knew my profit would be a little bit lower on this one which wasn't a huge deal so i ended up listening to the bike for 3600 i lowered it to 35 and then lowered it to 34 over the course of two weeks and i finally made a deal with somebody for 3 200 so i'm pretty happy with that and that gives us an overall profit of just around 650 on this bike thank you guys so much for watching till the end of the video i appreciate it if you could please hit that like button consider subscribing we've got a lot of good stuff coming i picked up like four new bikes in the past couple weeks we got this honda cr 125 i got to get done i've got two broke to built contest bikes i got to get built i am super busy we got a lot of work to do and i'm hoping to just get some more content out for you guys so i really appreciate you guys hanging in there we'll see you guys the next one thanks [Music] [Applause] [Music] um
