here friends they're gonna draw a globe a globe yeah it's a map of the world except it's round spherical we hope you're gonna follow along with us what do our friends need for this lesson a marker or something to draw with some paper and something to cover with yeah let's start yeah now we're also going to use a bowl now this is for a template we're going to trace around it this is to draw a perfect circle but you don't have to you could just draw it freehand and just practice drawing circles so we're going to start by drawing we'll put our bowl upside down and be sure to ask your parents if you can trace around your bowl especially if you're using a black marker it'll leave a black line on your bowl we're going to move this towards the top of our paper so that we have room for the stand we're going to put since i'm right-handed i'm going to put my left hand on top of the bowl and then i'm going to move the marker trace starting over here that way we can trace in one line you can come all the way around like this and finish where we started look at that that's a perfect circle perfect circle that's fun doing that too little little yeah squeaky okay reach further around so start here yes there you go then you'll be able to do it all in one motion good job that's okay you can pick it up and then oh that's okay that's all right you kind of came off the ball that's totally fine right because we're practicing most important thing is to have fun yes so have fun now we're done with the bowl so we're going to put that off to the side and the rest we're going to do freehand so globes are usually tipped uh diagonally because the earth is also tipped diagonally it's not just straight up the axis so we're going to imagine the axis of our earth we're going to draw a line up here so we're going to draw it maybe right about here but we're also going to pretend that we're cutting the globe in half so we're going to draw a short line and we're going to imagine it you could even turn your paper this way if you want imagine and then draw the the bottom of the axis so we got the north pole and the south pole right good job now we're going to draw another line next to it we're going to draw big poles on our globe there we go and then let's connect the top and also the bottom then let's draw an upside down u up here for a little decoration you could change in this drawing and add extra decorations if you want make it really fancy next we're going to draw the stand that's holding our globe up we'll start here close on on the north pole we're going to start really close to the globe and we're going to draw a curve that matches the outside shape of our globe this part is good practice to draw a freehand curve draw it right next to the earth and then connect it back you really need to concentrate yeah you do now we're going to draw another one we're going to start at the top of the pole and then we're going to come around and do the same thing this one's going to be a little trickier since it's further away you can go slower if you need to and it's okay it doesn't have to be perfect now we can actually draw the stand that the globe is sitting on we can draw two lines straight down from this little c shape now we can connect it and i'm going to draw that line out further on each side and then we can draw two diagonal lines coming down on each side and you really could add as many extra details as you want i'm going to connect those also and go further and then we can go down let's go down two more diagonal lines and then these ones are shorter and we can connect these also at the bottom and then let's let's add a couple more layers i'm going to go out really far out this way and out this way and i'm going to turn my paper this way sideways and connect those two at the bottom sometimes i think it's easier to turn your paper yeah it's really you should try it turn to turn it sideways it's hard drawing the light really all right there you go now it's easier yes see that was his way it was way easier huh okay now let's let's do it one more time we'll practice turning up turning our paper let's draw two short lines going straight down and then let's turn it sideways there you go and then we'll start at the top and you're gonna pull towards your body so that that's what i think makes it easier is that instead of drawing this way you're pulling the line towards you and it also makes it easier to draw a straight line look how straight that is hadley we did it we finished drawing our globe well the main shape of our globe right there's still more details to add we could add an equator we could also add the continent and we could really take our time making the continents look very accurate but we're just going to keep this simple and just add some squiggly lines so let's start here and you could draw different continents right you could draw different sides of the earth let's just start here we're going to draw a wiggly line that comes down maybe like that so it kind of looks like a u-shape and we can add now let's add another bump like this and then a line coming down it's really not accurate at all that's okay mine especially now let's draw another wiggly line like this that comes across the top and then we could come down with another wiggly line kind of getting close to right here and then let's draw a little u-shape and then we're going to draw a c-shape we're going to come around like this you got to add the sound effects too and then we're going to draw a bumpy line that comes across like that that's what i meant by keeping it really simple we still need to cover yes right now we do this part we're going to fast forward but at the end you can pause the video to match the same coloring you ready to fast forward yeah good job hadley you finished coloring your globe it turned out so cute i especially love that you added a funny face with eyelashes it's really cute thank you you can pause the video right now to match the same coloring you could also add the extra things that a globe has like the equator also maybe the arctic circle and the antarctic circle we hope you had a lot of fun drawing your globe yeah and we'll see you later our friends goodbye okay parents and teachers take a photo of your child's finished artwork and post it on facebook or instagram also
