what are you doing how come it's saying it's not live yet [Laughter] look at this it's live but it says on my computer that it's not live hey we're live i don't know it says it says we're not live but people are watching us hey you guys were excited to be drawing with you again today and tell our friends what we're going to draw a chair a treasure chest yeah and show them your teeth you're missing your two front teeth we hope you guys are excited to draw again with us today but before we draw we also got a spotlight one of our art friends check it out this is penelope penelope i can't see her please can you say it penelope yeah she did awesome on her drawing didn't she yeah what did she draw um do you remember not she chinchilla a chinchilla with us yesterday and she did awesome and our challenge yesterday was to add a background and she did awesome she colored the whole background and she drew it at night because i think chinchillas might be nocturnal yeah this isn't that cool and i really like that her chinchilla is holding a nut yeah looks like it's got some food great job uh penelope on being our spotlight in today's lesson now are you ready to draw yeah we hope you guys have all of your art supplies together you got a marker some paper and some colorings yeah yeah where's your marker you ready okay the first step we're gonna draw we're drawing the treasure chest right yeah and so we're going to draw the general shape and we're going to draw a 3d too we're going to add we're going to draw the treasure chest 3d so we're going to first draw a line straight down we're going to draw it on the right side so we're going to draw a line down like this and we don't want to draw it too big and we're going to draw over let's see right about here yeah that's a good spot we're going to draw straight down to about there good now we're going to draw parallel lines that are diagonal and do you know what parallel lines mean no it means they're going the same direction so we're going to draw parallel lines like this now if they're going like this that's not parallel right but if they're like this they're going together it's kind of like railroad tracks they they run the same direction so we're going to draw a diagonal line that goes up like this so we're going to draw okay draw up to maybe there yeah and then we're going to draw the same line we're going to draw the same distance and the same angle we're going to draw down here and watch this look it stops in the exact same spot directly below it so we're going to draw over to about here is that awesome yeah now we're going to draw we're going to connect the top line down to the bottom line yeah now we're going to draw we so this is the front of our treasure chest now we're going to draw this side so we're going to draw a diagonal line going this direction also but it's shorter we don't want to draw the same length so we're going to start there and we're going to draw maybe right to there it's going to be 3d yeah 3d exactly i love drawing things 3d now we're going to draw the same line down here so repeating the same step we're going to draw parallel can you say that word parallel parallel parallel it's kind of a tricky word there you go and then we're going to connect the top down to the bottom again oop squeaky marker [Applause] okay we got the we got the front and we got the side of our treasure chest now we need to draw the lid okay so we're going to draw an upside down u we're going to start well you can start here in the corner we're going to draw a curve that goes up and then back down can you do that it looks like a rainbow yep curve around and back down now we're going to draw the very top of the lid so we're going to draw the same angle look at this we're going to draw this angle this line right here so we don't want to draw like this that's not parallel we want to draw the same angle so we're going to start here on the edge and draw a line that comes out and we got to stop short we don't want to go all the way to the edge okay so we're going to start here and go about to there there you go steady perfect i like it then we're going to draw a curve that comes down from the top and then connects to there so it curves down to that line yes good job we did it we drew the general shape of our treasure chest what are we missing all the details yeah the dots the dots and the lock and we're going to make it look really cool okay so first usually a treasure chest is locked so we're going to draw the the padlock that's on the front so we're going to draw the letter c and i'm going to zoom in our camera so that our friends can see this a little bit better so we're gonna zoom in there we go a little bit a little bit closer we're gonna draw a c the letter c right in the middle of the front of our treasure chest there we go now we're gonna draw another one right next to it look at this draw another one and then we're going to connect the top and the bottom now we're going to draw a rainbow line that goes through this so on this side we're going to draw a little curve that comes down and we're going to draw a bigger curve on the top that comes down and matches see that comes down right next to it this is the top of the padlock yeah now this line can come down a little further maybe all the way down this time yeah there you go then we're going to do the same thing on the other side we're going to draw the little curve first and then we're going to draw a big curve on the top coming down yeah now let's connect these two lines and those two lines okay we will connect them together there's the top of our lock good job man now we're going to draw the front of it we're going to draw a line that goes across just like that you could do it i was going to give you points oh perfect now we're going to draw the letter u coming down like this oh it's starting to look like a lock we're almost done okay we need to make it look 3d also so we're going to draw a line a diagonal line that comes back for the corner and then we're going to draw a line that goes across and connects to the top of the lock now we're going to draw the side and we're going to draw a line that curves down like this and connects to the bottom yeah and then it goes there you go and then touches perfect oh touch you did such a great job man now if we ever go too fast remind our art friends what they can do pause the video yeah even though this is live you can still pause the video and take extra time to finish a step you can also rewind the video if you need to all right okay now what's our lock missing on the front of the lock yeah the little hole where you put the key so let's draw a circle and you can color it in yep and then we're gonna draw a a rectangle underneath it for the bottom of the keyhole there you go okay we got the the most important part to our treasure chest is the lock but let's add some more details let's add two lines that come straight down on each side of the lock yep now we're going to add all of the extra details so the edges of our chest are metal and the inside is made out of wood so first let's draw a line watch this parallel and we're going to stop so look how it's parallel to the top we're going to draw it right here to the corner are you having fun yeah you promise yeah okay then we're going to draw a line straight down and we want to stop short so we're going to just start here and come down to that corner we're drawing the border to our chest so we're connecting there to down to the bottom then we're going to go across the bottom and make sure it's parallel it's going right next to it i went a little far so we're going to go to about there now we're going to go up parallel to the side that's a good spot and then we're going to go across now that's the front of our treasure chest good now let's draw the side and this one's going to be a little easier because we don't have to go behind a lock so we're going to go down watch this i'm going to do the whole thing across and look at all of these lines are parallel to the outside is that cool i can give you dots you want me to give you all four dots look at this we're gonna connect all these all four dots yes perfect okay then we're gonna we're gonna do the same thing to this half circle up here the top the lid the side of the lid we'll draw the bottom and then we're going to draw that upside down u and connect the left over to the right we're almost done yeah yeah yeah yeah now let's try let's draw the front of our lid so we're going to draw that parallel line coming across here i love pirate stuff you know why my favorite ride at disneyland is pirates of the caribbean pirates of the caribbean exactly i like splash mountain yeah i know that's your favorite we're gonna draw watch this we're gonna draw this curve it goes all the way across to the top see that we're gonna curve it all the way up to the top then we're gonna do the same thing on the left side curve all the way to the top okay now let's draw the wood that's inside so we're going to draw parallel this is really good practice for parallel lines watch this all the way across the top of our lid is gonna be parallel lines look at that it goes right next to it so you're gonna draw the first one and then you can draw the next one without the points see if you can do the next one parallel without you did it and then yes and one more okay now we're going to do let's do the same thing down here but it's going to be tricky because we got that lock and we got to draw us we got to draw the lines behind the lock so we're going to draw a parallel all the way across and then this one can you get it there you go underneath and then the next one we can draw behind the lock yeah now let's draw the wood on the side we're going to draw ones that go up and see how they're going the different direction they're going this this way diagonal yeah just like that and then do another one right above it one more perfect and then let's add two up here on this part okay we got one last detail and then we need to color our treasure chest we're gonna add little dots or little yeah they're like rivets that hold the treasure chest together so watch this this is an easy way to do it we're gonna put a dot in each corner like that there you go and then we're gonna draw dots in the middle we're gonna do one in the middle there on each side and then one down here in the middle there too now let's add let's add the dots over here on the right we're gonna do one in each corner and then one in the middle on each side cool okay let's do them on the top on the lid one in the middle oh let's do the corners first sorry and then we can do one in the middle and then yeah and one up with the top two you're you know what we're doing and then one in the middle right there and then we gotta add the last dots over here on this side one in each corner one in the top and then we can put one in the middle also yeah right one in the top you did it good good job we're all done with our markers was that awesome yeah look how cool your treasure chest looks man okay now we need to color we're going to use gold and we're also going to use brown we're going to use gold for the outside of our treasure chest and then and also the lock and then we're going to use brown for the wood okay and we also have mrs hubs off camera she's she's been checking out your comments but is there anything interesting we could answer is there any art friends that have cool questions a lot of people have had requests for things that we have drawn have already drawn what are some of those requests so some of the requests today have been cinderella a kitten a cupcake a panda a horse a narwhal ghost batman squirrel owl iron man koi fish you guys that's that's a lottery that's a lot of requests we have we've drawn all of those so remember to remember to go you can go to our channel on youtube go go to our channel page and then there's a little uh magnifying glass at the top of the page and you can click on that and that'll actually do a search just on our channel it won't search anything else it won't search any other videos on youtube except the ones that we've posted so you could type narwhal narwhal into into that search box and it will just search for our lesson on how to draw narwhal and let's see that's cool that we got so many requests i can't believe it that's awesome and there's ari ariane ariantor grande is asking for a tiger oh we got a tiger we have done we've done a cartoon tiger but you do you know what i want to do a what realistic yes i want to do a realistic one we've done a really cool lion head and that was one of my favorite drawings i've got a lot of favorites but um that lion was so cool i want to do a tiger version of that same lesson so are you are your wrists getting tired you can you can shake it out if it gets too tired there you go yeah so i want to draw a realistic tiger i like that request that's a cool one uh jaden tick around is asking for a cardinal a cardinal i think we've done one it's pretty old but we could i could look and uh asked if we've done a fox yes we have oh i think we need to redo the fox though that was a long time ago we should draw a color kind of like the arctic fox that's that's a really fun lesson too stretch your arms out if your hands get tired when you're coloring you can go like this open and close them that helps oh but they still get does that make them tired makes it tired too chris garcia's asking for thundercat characters oh we should do that they're they're those are complicated characters so we'll probably draw them like cartoon versions i love thundercats i watched thundercats when i was your age austin really yeah that was a long time ago and then i think they brought them back i don't even know thundercats thundercats he's got the uh awesome sword laurel joseph's asking for spongebob we've done spongebob we should redo spongebob because we did all of that we did a lot of the characters and didn't color them in because it was so long ago we weren't coloring them in and then we the first one of the first lessons that we ever colored was sandy sandy's colored i'm pretty sure but spongebob and you know what else every every person that watches the spongebob lesson tells us in the comments that we forgot the eyelashes i think we forgot that's one of the most important parts hey hey brooke did she just handled it oh she's just giving my money that's so cool thank you brooklyn oh you're doing such a good job dude let's see turn it on turbo turn your coloring on turbo you were stretching all that time you got a little behind turbo use your super powers yeah did such a good job on your treasure chest man did you have fun yeah it's okay that our treasure chests look different you did a great job they both look awesome the most important thing is to have fun yes to have fun and to practice practice yeah and we're not we're not completely done with our drawings yet what are the what is it missing something around the outside background background yeah a background or you could even draw a pirate i want to challenge you guys to draw a pirate next to your treasure chest are you doing the worm he does actually a really good worm and it's especially good when you do it on the couch because you can go from one side of the couch over to the other side and brooklyn oh my gosh thank you so much brooklyn that's so cool now parents after your child has finished their artwork be sure to take a photo of it and post it on instagram and use two hashtags or not two hashtags use two tags the first one is at art for kids hub and that will notify us that you've posted something and then the hashtag is can you read that what does that say afk h f k h what's that big word challenge challenge challenge and then that'll keep all of the drawings together and then we'll pick that that thing that's okay oh you were reading the other words that says parents post to instagram we've got it off to the side so it helps us right yeah yeah but you got to remember our friends are over here say you in there hi know because it's just just the camera so parents post post your kids artwork because we want to see how awesome it turned out and we're also
