hey guys the same will economy the school of artistic director we are here at premier Orlando and when we show you how to do a really cool braid called the crochet braids I know a lot of you guys who might have seen the video that I posted on my Instagram but I want to break it down to you today so you can get the specifics I have some nail down this braid right so first before we get started I'm going to do a little bit I mean a blockade on her hair because I'm gonna do a few like accent waves in the front so that she has something going on but this breaks I'm just gonna run that through her friends right here and really is just to serve as a heat protection prior to using any kind of heat over here you always want to protect the integrity of your models hair your clients hair before you go in with any Heat alright so let's get that curler alright so with the way that we're doing super easy you're gonna see when they sink kind of a big chunk here and I'll separate it into two but our separate is like really important you don't want to just like take your random like parallels for the floor sections I like to go at a diagonal and the reason why is because these two sections will literally just fall into each other when I brush them together as opposed to if I separated it like this like one curl would sit on top of the other we want them to fall into each other so we're doing a diagonal I'm going to hold the hair out like this my chameleon curler this is a 19 millimeter attachment and I'm just going to wrap the hair just very loosely around the curler I like to just go in and touch and see how hot it's getting if it's too hot for my finger then it's too hot for her hair and we pull that out I'm gonna do the same for this top piece here and you see I always like to hold it out you don't want it to be laying on her head when you pull the hair out you want to pull the hair out so that when you curl it it sits on base instead of bought off the base all right so we hold it kind of like 90 degree ish place the chameleon behind there and wrap all right and you see how I wrapped it and then I go in and I push this push is just to give me kind of like a slight bend in the front I don't want that bend to be too harsh that's why I didn't start the actual curl there I ended it here and then I pushed in for that Bend right there because we want that to be nice and soft right and again I'm going to qing her hair see if it's warm remember we can pull out and you see how just like a very soft Bend right here that it gives me that's what I want I don't want anything too harsh I'm just going to go in with my fingers and pull through at these waves all right so now we're done with our waves in the front so we can get started on our actual braid so to give some slips to the braid I'm going to go in it's a little bit of the violent moisture and shine cream from the supernova collection and this is the blond one so you see has like a violet tone to it which is really great so it's gonna remove any kind of brassiness that she has in her hair you usually think of like violet or purple tones in just shampoos but we're putting it in everything in the line so this is moisture product and shine product and it has some as well all right so now I have like some slips when I'm breeding I'm not getting my cut up or my fingers getting tangled at all make sure I get some here in the front all right so we can get started on our break all right so you're gonna look at this is the side with the wave and this is the side that doesn't have the way you're starting on the side that does not okay you're gonna take a one-inch vertical section you're gonna hold it straight out all right you're gonna hold it with your left hand and with your right hand you have place two fingers behind it rotate thumb in the middle finger out hold no I know I might have went by fast gonna do that one again take the section pull it out hold it with your left two fingers behind that section rotate thumb in middle finger out hold all right so that's how you start this braid I'm going to take another section I like to do about maybe one inch sections at a time and I combined it with this tail that I had here previously hold tight I'm gonna pull my loop through put the thumb in through the top rotate push back add hair you see how close I stay to her head this is just so that the braid stays nice and secure pull this end pull your loop out thumb in through the top rotate your fingers push back add hair you can come as close as you want so you can see totally pull the loop out fingers through the top rotate push back add hair and when I say add hair I'm literally just adding hair to the hair that's already between my fingers and really important to always stay close to the head if you find yourself holding the hair out here then the breed is not going to look like it should you're probably going to think you're doing it wrong but you're not it's just that it's not tight enough so you don't really see those loops right push back add hair pull the ends pull your loop through thumb in through the top rotate push back if you have any like small little like maybe layers that she has that are popping through that's fine just gonna make the braid look a little bit more like undone and everyday which is good as well if you want the hair to look like every hair in place super sleek it's best to do it when the hair is damp so I would dampen the hair and maybe add in some of the hot mess texture gloss into her hair so that every single hair is in place but if you want more of an like undone natural look it's great to just kind of like let those hairs be again add hair pull that loop through come in through the top rotate push back add hair and again it's like literally like crocheting the hair when people ask me like how do you come up with like these braids that you do it's really about just kind of thinking about hair styling outside of the context of hair styling think about other things that get twisted and wrapped around and knotted and you can think about new ways to braid okay I keep continuing around as I get towards the back you see I try to like angle down I want this braid to kind of hug the nape of her neck and then end up where the waves are to look more like an updo so like let's say instead of someone getting like your traditional updo without all the curls they want something more natural-looking maybe something with a braid and maybe something that's fast this is the go-to look okay we added the hair here pull through let me do the top push back add hair pull your loop through come in through the top rotate push back add hair pull your loop through come in through the top rotate push back add hair and you see when I add hair try not to come all the way from up here to get your section try to stay nice and low because if you start to section off from all the way at the top you'll see that she'll have like lines at the base here we don't want to see those lines so when I go in and I take a section I'm literally taking it from as low as I can okay pull the hair out I'm just pulling this loop out thumbing through the top rotate push back add ass pull your loop through thumb in through the top rotate push back adhere okay pull your loop through them in through the top rotate push back add hair and you see we're starting to approach our waves here I want this updo to end right here you don't want to have it like literally on top of her ear that won't look very soft or natural we want it to end nice and low so we're going to continue along that kind of diagonal path pull your loop through thumbing through the top rotate push back now the last section that I have to add is right here okay and you see I come nice and low I don't want to take away from the wave that we have here so you don't want to pull this section too tight so how do you know where to pull and where not to pull what I like to do is kind of like a two wave rule I count one wave to wave and this is what I put away because if I go less than two waves then you take away the wave that we created okay so count one two and this is what I add to my fingers right here pull the loop through now that last loop we're going to push into the braid itself and pin in I'm going to use a small picture this hairpin right here so this campaign I'm going to use here it's a long open hairpin you want to not just go in from the top I like to come in from behind and weave it through the braid so that you don't see it so now that section is secured but I do want to go in and add a few more small hairpins and bobby pins okay so we have a small one here again when you place your hairpin or bobby pin in I always love to close it put it in let it open and then weave through that weave through is going to guarantee that it's not going to slide out on you because think about if you slid this into the hair just like this so easily it can come right back out but if when you put it into the hair you wiggled it and weaved it through it's very unlikely that it's going to go through all of that motion to come out so that weaving through is very critical okay so I did maybe like three I think that's good there so I'm just gonna come in towards the front I'll just use some hairspray never turn her braid over this way I don't just come in you can also like spread the braid open good turn your body for me spread the braid open like that just accentuate it a bit more when you see how I'm just letting those little like flyaways do their thing you don't need to push them in just mix the look you know very natural very modern very effortless for me when like braids are to like every single hair in place it has to super be like a super chic look or else it'll end up looking like it's like a five-year-old's hairstyle so you have to like make sure you tried the line turn your face forward for me just do a little and this is the head strong hairspray that I'm using just to make sure that this hair doesn't move and turn your head to the right perfect just a little bit right here as well and there you have the crochet braids hope you guys enjoyed if you have any more questions about this braid feel free to science slide into my DMS all right thank you for watching bye
