hey welcome all right so we're gonna do another curly hair tutorial today so I love curly hair and it is like my absolute favorite thing I rarely wear my hair straight just because it's been and I feel like what I curly I can get lots of body and volume and I love that it's messy and it's okay so I'm going to show you kind of the way that I have been doing it lately that I've had a lot of comments requests for how to do it so I just blow-dried my hair um and I put a couple products in it when it was wet I used the Aveda of itemizing thickening tonic and the Aveda volumizing tonic and all of the products they use I will link in the description below so I'll do that out what I've done is famous okay so to get started I just hope I'm gonna part my hair down the middle and you guys if you have followed me for a while you know that I love to wear my halo extension so as I said before my hair is thin it's fine and sometimes to just bulk it up a little bit I like to put in this halo extension so I'm going to clip my hair out of the way and basically because I wear this extension all the time I know right where it goes in my head so this is what a halo Couture extension looks like it's basically this weft of hair and it has this string and that's what holds it in your head so it just sits right on top I love these extensions because they basically are virtually they create no damage they're not pulling on the hair I love that I can take it out at night I don't have to wear it daily I don't have to sweat with it in you know all those good things so I just put that in and you can see I really didn't even worry too much about curling much of the underneath of the hair I am just going to kind of grab these few pieces right here and grow though so today I'm going to be using the 3/4 inch curling iron so this is one of my favorite irons I use it all the time so to get started I'm just going to kind of and these pieces and throw some curls in them so I start at the top and then just kind of feed the curling iron aim through just a little bit which I will show you a little bit more in depth as we move on so I'm just and the nice thing about wearing these halos is when you do wear them they stay curled right so it's like one last step in curling your hair cuz you got all this hair that's already curled so yesterday when I wore this halo I did not do as tight of curls so I am just gonna take and curl a couple pieces to give a couple tighter curls now um you can see when I curl so I'm gonna start at the top and kind of just feed it back around and I barely just putting a wave in that and I'm not gonna curl like all of its super curly cuz the key here is you kind of want a bunch of different textures in the hair so you don't want all of the curls to be exactly the same so if you do not have a halo and you're not gonna put a halo in what I would recommend doing is just kind of taking you could even curl kind of some big take big pieces of hair and curl those and then take small chunks of hair and curl those and that'll give you a big dimensions so what I mean by that um is you're gonna take like a big section kind of like this right and start at the top throw some curls in there just very very lightly and then work your fingers to it and then take smaller pieces and then do the same thing so because if you're taking a bigger section of hair the hair is the curl is gonna be a little bit tighter or sorry a little bit looser if you're taking a smaller section of hair the hair the curl is gonna be tighter so always remember that if you want you to bigger curls just take a bigger section of hair so then right here in the front now these pieces right here in the front I actually like these to not be as curly so I'm going to show you how those curls kind of work so a minute the curling iron I have is straight up and down like and I'm going to bend that curl backwards away from the hair and you can see how I just kind of pump it open and then feed that hair through and then when I get to the end I clamp it at the tip of that hair and then kind of pull it down so let me show you get on this side so again curling iron is straight up and down getting it fairly close to the root curling it away from the face kind of hold it at that base pump it open wrap it around hold it at a base pump it up and wrap it around and then when you get to the bottom you don't pull all the way through I keep it clamped and then that basically kind of pulls the hair straight so that the curl has a little bit of a flatter curl pattern instead of super round and bulky so now we will move to the next section so I am going to love these so I always um when I curl my hair I always curl it in sections the reason for this is I feel like you can control all your curls so much better and you can really kind of I feel like people think it takes longer but in the end it really doesn't because it's you don't have to go back and recrawl pieces that you miss okay so now I'm going to go through and spray so because today is freshly washed hair day I always put dry shampoo in the hair when it is clean so the very first day that you wash your hair put dry shampoo in your hair and I swear it'll change your cake it's amazing it'll absorb oil as the oil comes instead of it getting oily and then on day 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 however many days you go me doing washes you try to put your a shampoo in and then it just like has to already absorb the oil so if you do it before I swear it your hair wash will last so much longer and today I'm using the living proof dry shampoo I love this one I think it works really good so works great with darker hair types um so it doesn't leave a residue okay so now I do this same technique in all my videos and it makes a world of a difference for volume in the hair so I take the section and this would be if you don't have hair extensions it's basically everything from about the eyebrow up is what you want about comb so every section okay now I'm gonna hold that hair straight up from the head so not down here or up here but straight up from the head and I'm gonna take my comb and I'm gonna create just like three or four back combs in there and then I'm gonna go in and really push it in super tight so you're basically just giving yourself like an inch a really tight back combing and then I'm gonna spray it with my favorite air control hair spray this will keep your back combing in twenty times longer I so where it is the best ever for keeping your back coming in so I just worked my way around doing that exact same thing spraying at the root and then holding the hair up really tight back combing like one inch of it right at the root spray with the air control and then let it dry okay so you want to let it dry for sure otherwise if you apply heat to it you know it can compromise the hair so once that's dry then cool curl so I'm gonna move towards this section I'm going to show you again on these first couple ones and then I'll fast forward it but how I do it so with these curls in particular that I'm going to show you today your actual like your direction that you hold the curling iron is very very important okay so when you curl you're not gonna go up and curl under this way you're gonna actually kind of pull the hair down and towards your face and again the curling iron is gonna be straight up and down but purling backwards so you're gonna go straight up and down but I'm going to kind of curl backwards and this is gonna give so this kind of gives a different curl pattern every time you curl your hair depending on how you hold the curling iron designates the shape of your curl so again up here holding that hair kind of in and down towards your face and then curling iron goes back kind of away from the face so you're creating that curl back and away and then again as I get to the end I just kind of pump it open and then leave it clamped and then feed it through and then it kind of gives me a little bit of like a flatter curl pattern that okay so then I will proceed all the way around here [Music] now if you ever get a section that you curl a little too much like that one and it's a little too curly at the ends you can just take your flat iron and kind of straighten out a little stop so okay now we're going to take that next section down do the exact same thing so and these sections kind of depend on the density and thickness of your hair mine are about an inch thick all the way around but I again you could take bigger sections if you need to that's totally fine okay so now just working my way around the head holding the hair straight up getting that back coming in there so this method of back combing will thrown off my tools here no we go this method of back combing will literally stay for days so people ask me all the time so people ask me all the time when I do this how I like preserve it um so I will basically at night if I don't wash my hair right I'm not washing my hair I will kind of comb through it with the tangle teezer brush which is my favorite I've talked I and like all tutorials it's really soft on the hair and it doesn't pull and it won't cause breakage but I'll kind of just lightly comb through it but I don't even really comb all the back coming out and maybe lightly do if I need to but I don't like koma all the way out and then it's like they're in the morning and ready to go okay so next we're gonna do the exact same thing in the front hair with this next section so again let me show you again you're gonna hold the curls kind of dip your hair cut it down curling iron goes away from the face and you're gonna focus that Bend right there out of hair straight up and down and then hold out for a little bit and if the curling iron falls out like if you manage like if you end up because trust me I've done it multiple times where the curling iron falls out and I catch the ends and I am NOT able to give it like that straight wear it like this if it falls out just after you pull the curl out just while the hair is still hot nits cooling just pull the curl straight okay that's it so then it'll follow that all the way around the head [Music] [Music] okay now that I've got that next section I'll part it off too so now I'm going to hold that hair in the back so take this back section and back home again just like we did before but they make sure when you're back combing sorry make sure you can see me make sure when you're back combing you're holding that hair straight up from the head and you're gonna back home a couple of times and then just push it in real tight you guys that is the key so no more of like this roughing up the whole hair right there you just basically have it it's a really tight inch a backward and that is what's gonna keep that back combing really really sturdy right at the root without giving you like that look of like the rat's nest right none of us want the rat's nest going on I mean at least I think we don't I know I I don't want to see that okay so all spring and then you can see like right here right here around my hairline I did not back comb not because I actually like that to be a little bit flatter right there so once back combed back to curling and again taking that hair and holding it kind of down so I've taught you guys before to hold it up and get right up under the root that's not a bad thing it just gives you a different type curls so this is kind of a flatter like feathered back kind of curl so in order to get that you have to hold the hair down clamp that curling iron and kind of at the root and then feed it through going backwards pump the hair through and then when you get to the end just kind of pull it out same thing next section just follow this around the head now I always like to hold that curl kind of right at the beginning at the root as much as I can to really focus that curl at the root now when I do the back section here I feel like I should tell you this I don't worry so much about the angle about the flat curl like I just curl it because let's face it it's a hard to see what we're doing back here anyways so just grab the hair that you know you haven't curled and you can start at the root and kind of work your way down so I don't worry as much about the direction and all of that in the back I just make sure their curls so if you don't have some flat pieces going on back there okay now next section so now as I get real close to the top so I'm kind of just in this very top section of my head now I'm just gonna work in the back with getting this back section I just found this is just a personal preference on how I like to get there and get it done with still keeping track of what I'm doing so I just kind of work section by section and I'm gonna do two sections back in the back before I work to the front so I'm going to split this section into curl each of these pieces and then I'm going to do another section backwards and do the exact same thing [Music] okay so now that I've got those done now I'm just basically working with this front part of my hair right here which essentially is gonna be the areas that come down right here around my face I don't know what you doing okay so but before I do that I'm gonna actually take some really small sections here in my bangs and Flatiron them forward now I like to do this just because it really does help give more volume right around your hairline so I just take that small section and I'm gonna take my flat iron very briefly did you see how fast that was you barely seen a flat iron it was so fast so that I'm gonna dig another section and do that same thing just that piece of hair pull it all forward grab your flat iron get it right at the root and I don't even flat iron it all the way down I'm just flat iron that first part now the reason for that is because it's I just I'm kind of directing it all forward and I'm gonna show you what a difference it'll make here in the front of my hair so see how I don't Flatiron anything else just the roots and then as the hairs cooling I just kind of keep pulling it forward so the hair is nice and warm right after you pull that flatter your note so as it's cooling hair forward now like I said you're just barely flat ironing this section right here just enough to get the heat on it pull it forward and then keep it forward as it all cools once it's all cooled down then you can kind of establish your part from here so I'm gonna do a middle part today so I just take my comb part it down the middle and voila so can you see what a difference that makes right here in the front and just like it kind of pulls that hair forward a little bit and then when I curl it it's gonna have that lift that's gonna draw it backwards too so now we'll go ahead and curl these sections okay now here in the front is where I feel like it's really important especially when using a smaller iron like we're using because if you curl with the smaller iron right around your face super small curls you'll very very fast feel like curly sue so in order to avoid that I like to keep these curls around the face a little less curly so I'm going to take this piece right here because this one's not right around my face I'm gonna go ahead and give this one a curl now you guys remember here in the front to keep the same curl pattern so I'm pulling the hair kind of slightly forward before I put it in the curling iron and then I'm curling it back just like that so that it's giving that curl the bend right here that then curls back okay kind of like the old-school Farrah Fawcett days where you create that Bend kind of right in the front and then feed that hair through just like that okay now when we get to these front pieces so I'm going to actually grab this whole section right here okay so this whole front section and I do have a couple little bangs that I've cut that have been growing out for like five years I swear okay maybe just a couple years but maybe a year but they're still there and I actually don't mind them because it does help give a little bit more of a feathered effect and keeps it nice and light around my hairline so when I curl these front pieces here's the key when I curl them I'm gonna pull these forward and out this way so can you see my fingers so I'm gonna pinch the hair I'm gonna turn it this way and then I'm gonna do the exact same thing pulling my curling iron towards the center of my face just like that and as they cool kind of pull it down so let me show you what happens when you then I'm as that pulls off so I like to let the curl cool completely before I feather it back so as it cools off then you just take your fingers and it just it's like see how it just is kind of a soft subtle feathered curl back that's how you do it so grab that whole section of hair now on this side so I'm right-handed now I'm on my left hand side so on this side I'm gonna pull it forward kind of the same way pull it forward like this and then turn my hands this way so member when I was on my right side I pulled it forward this way and then turned my fingers in towards me so now I have to reverse it and I'm gonna pull it forward turn them turn my fingers away from me slide the curling iron right up there wrap it around hold it for a sec then just kind of feed that curl through let it cool so then as its pulled up you can and kind of pull it back and if you've got some like this one that's like a little too curly that you're like I don't like that one as much just hit it real quick with a flat iron just to put a little bit of heat on it just like that and it's good right so then of course you guys know I can't not follow up so this is where I like to take then my fingers and kind of run them through my roots not to pull out the backcombing but just to kind of break it up wherever the hairspray is so that you don't have any holes so just kind of work your fingers through it a little bit kind of fill for any holes and then pop the magic off with the pure abundance potion by Aveda this stuff actually it's like a powder and then the heat of your scalp makes it melt to a liquid it's kind of like seasoning your hair this stuff I like literally cannot do my hair without it it swells the hair by like 30% but it kind of creates that grip in your hair this to me does everything that a texture spray will do but twenty thousand times better it's so much better so I put all that in and then just kind of work it through just like that and then you can finish it off with your favorite hairspray so in the front of my hair where this hair kind of tends to like come in your eyes and hang in your eyes if you don't want it in your eyes I like to use the Veda control force hair spray and yes this is a mini size because my big size was all outside revert to my travel size so once I do that to get these hairs to stay this will work I promise so you just kind of get it right where you want it lift it up and then kind of spray this hair spray like one or two right underneath and then just kind of mold it to where you want to go and I swear so I'm basically shooting the hairspray up into here and if you do that with this hairspray and you very little goes a very long way it will stay out of your face so it'll kind of clump those hairs together right there on your face and keep them up in your face so there you go that's it so that's my tutorial for you I really appreciate you guys watching and let me know if you have any questions I will like I said I will link these products in the description below and so you can find these wherever you need as well as like a curling iron that I use and the flat iron is law so thanks again for watching I hope y'all have a wonderful day
